- We are visiting Da Nang, Vietnam today! Its almost TET 2024 and we are exploring the beautiful Da Nang beach. We are already loving Vietnam, the city of Da Nang and excited for another 2024 New Year celebration!
Da nang is the third largest city in Vietnam. This is a very walkable city, with a beach stretching for miles and lots of things to see and do in and around the city. This is our first week exploring, so we have a lot more to discover, but already loving the people, the food, the coffee and the scenery in Da Nang. In this video we explore a few kilometres of the beach boardwalk, walking from our Son Tra neighbourhood, south to the An Thoung Tourist Town. We grab a delicious Vietnamese coffee, eat a savoury Banh Mi, sandwich, watch some Da Nang fishermen bringing in their catch for the day and explore a new neighbourhood.

The Thuyen Thung, basket boats, were beautiful. How creative to make such a nice art installation for all to enjoy.
They were SO lovely!! We were so happy to be in Da Nang over the TET celebration and holiday! So much going on leading up to TET and so many decorations, flowers, flags, blossoms and colours everywhere!! 🌹🌻

I'm jealous of your life traveling around and enjoy great countries like VN with its nice friendly people, delicious food AND coffee at incredible prices, and get to see beautiful scenery as well. Thank you for taking the time to film, edit and post your videos as I know that it takes a lot of time and energy. BTW, great advise on when you go to VN, ditch the Starbucks and the fast food franchise, you have so many better options in VN.
Definitely eat the local food in Vietnam!! So much more flavour and authenticity AND amazing value. The food is so fresh too! And honestly, Starbucks has nothing on Vietnamese coffee!! LOL. Cheers!

It is an amazing beach to exercise on, no matter what you do! Jan loved doing yoga there too and ran barefoot a few days on the beach, while Mitch loved the morning run. We loved seeing everyone out - doing dance classes, tai chi, mindful movement, workouts....its a really healthy vibe in the morning! We are blessed to have met and shared time and stories with you too John! We will be following you along as well ❤️😊

The Food cheap and the Beach everywhere ...
We did end up eating at the beach bars, but the food is more westernized and we preferred the authentic vietnamese dishes. But yes, it is never expensive, especially compared to Europe and North American prices!

The Da Nang video is really bringing back memories. Vietnamese coffee is the best. It's the first time we could afford to go out for coffee every day. Now we're completely spoiled. Luckily Thailand has some great drinks as well so you won't be disappointed when you visit.

Oh dear….not much surfing from us! Those surfboards were art displays along My Khe beach! However lots of surfing was happening there!
This video is lovely memories as we were in Da Nang at a similar timeframe to you and did 4 nights there before two in Hue and 4 in Hoi An - theres a lot to fall in love with in Vietnam 😊
Except the excessive numbers of mopeds - they get on my bloody nerves 😁

The climate surprised us, a really nice comfortable heat after a very hot and humid couple of days in Singapore.
I miss Vietnamese coffee every day!! I need to learn how to try and emulate a coconut coffee!
We did make it to lady Buddha, but didn't see any monkeys that day! The climate is just perfect! Nice and hot during the day, but cools off at night.
Vietnamese coffee is a gem! We miss it as well! We did, however take a coffee making class, so we learned how to make four different coffees, including...COCONUT!! Stay tuned - we have a video coming out on our cooking and coffee making class in the next week or so! So you can learn how to make it too! LOL!!
Eastern style toilet is much cleaner than Western style toilet. Your behind won't touch the toilet seat.

Very lovely people in Da Nang and a very beautiful city, that is the right amount of busy, but also lots of quiet, family neighbourhoods. We really loved your birth city!
In Vietnam, people often go swimming from 5am to 7am and from 5pm to 7pm, because they avoid sunlight. At that time you will see the beach is very crowded.
Yes! We definitely noticed that beach activity is high early in the morning and after 5 pm. Locals are out exercising and enjoying the beach, so early! It is lovely to see and we were surprised by just how healthy the culture is - running, dancing, yoga, meditation and a whole mix of activities early in the morning. Then evening seems to be socializing, swimming, enjoying the beach. Only tourists are on the beach during mid day!!
I am just disappointed that as a Canadian you didn’t think of giving that great girl to run to get milk for your coffee and not giving her any tips I am from Quebec and this something that we would never do 😢
We never like to disappoint a fellow Canadian, but rest assured that that great girl was tipped (we were there many days) and also that the tipping culture is different in different parts of the world. All this to say that we assure you that we have not disappointed, not only on fair tipping, but on being gracious, friendly and loving Canadians as we travel around the world ❤️

You passed Dubai Hotel in An Thuong. I stayed there for a month back in October/November in a 30 m² junior suite for 220000 a night (Bargain 😉)
