Haha he sounds just like my husband. He custom mixes a blend of nuts, seeds and scratch. Ours have an oil heater in their coop also! It's going to get bad here in Northeast Ohio!
Yes, those were gunshots. We live near a very small conservation league and they have an outdoor gun range....has huge dirt embankments around the firing range. I was surprised to hear it being used. It's normally only in the summer and even then not all that much.
