ohhhh ,I love Flake 99 ice cream . it really was 99 pennies back in the 70 ties . And I love Clovelly I visisted the first time in 1980 ,, omg 44 years ago . Brings back loving memories of our family holidays in Cornwall with my english part of the family.
But just FYI: That's actually NOT true about the "99" ice cream being named that because it cost just .99p when invented... That's an urban myth that happ-ened in the 1980's (LONG after it was first sold). Cadbury actually tell a different story, thus; Cadbury's website says that the reason behind the Flake being called a 99 has been "lost in the mists of time" although it also repeats an article from an old Cadbury WORKS PAPER in their archives, which states the name came from the 'Guard of the Italian King' which consisted of 99 men and "subsequently anything really special or first class was known as 99”. In Scotland and the North of England MANY of the ice cream vendors were Italian. With a shop in Scotland one of the Arcari family (in 1922), supposedly came up with the idea of breaking a Cadbury Flake in half to stick it into the ice cream, naming it 'after' the 99 Guard of Italian quality! Also, 99 measured in Old Pence would have meant the cost of an ice cream was OVER Eight Shillings (a vast amount at the time!!!).

Years ago we were in Clovelly during our holidays. Really lovely. We were blown away by the whole site. Before this we stayed in a farmhouse in Devon. It had a wonderful garden.Will never forget it.Thank you very much for bringing it back ...❤
The countryside is so beautiful in England. And yes, the little sheep are associated with this beautiful terrain. However, I always feel sad, knowing that these beautiful creatures are destined for slaughter to land up on somebody's plate!😮😢 Thank you for this wonderful tour today. The thatched homes are absolutely gorgeous! Please bear in mind that the farmers work for a living and they have to earn their money as all of us do. We went to see a Herdwick sheep farm and they do everything organically. Supporting these farmers instead of huge meat factories is the way to go. Sadly farmers can’t just keep and buy animals and keep them unless we as tax payers would give them our money so they can keep their animals.
Oh Clovelly! A real favourite of mine and such a treat to see it again. Even in the rain you can see how gorgeous it is. Yes rain will have kept the number of visitors down that day, normally in summer it is, as you say, packed. You were very brave going down those slippery cobbles in the rain my dears, I'm so glad you were OK. Would have loved to have seen the tea shop etc but no worries. Thanks so very much for uploading. What a mixed video, you must have put it together over several different days, but I loved it so much. TTFN xxxx
I love the fishing villages. They are so quaint and full of charm. I have always enjoyed being near the water. I love to hear the birds in the villages. I'm guessing they're sea gulls. I would love to visit an English tea house. I love summer rain. I don't know why but it sounds so calming. So I love hearing the rain on your umbrella. Maybe I love it so much because we don't get enough rain during the summer here in TN US. Thanks for sharing another fun adventure! ❤

Years ago we were in Clovelly during our holidays. Really lovely. We were blown away by the whole site. Before this we stayed in a farmhouse in Devon. It had a wonderful garden.Will never forget it.Thank you very much for bringing it back ...❤

The countryside is so beautiful in England. And yes, the little sheep are associated with this beautiful terrain. However, I always feel sad, knowing that these beautiful creatures are destined for slaughter to land up on somebody's plate!😮😢 Thank you for this wonderful tour today. The thatched homes are absolutely gorgeous! I love how you both dressed in blue and white checkered shirts when visiting Instow , matching the towns colors!💙🤍 Thank you for another relaxing stroll through beautiful villages! Please bear in mind that the farmers work for a living and they have to earn their money as all of us do. We went to see a Herdwick sheep farm and they do everything organically. Supporting these farmers instead of huge meat factories is the way to go. Sadly farmers can’t just keep and buy animals and keep them unless we as tax payers would give them our money so they can keep their animals.
Oh Clovelly! A real favourite of mine and such a treat to see it again. Even in the rain you can see how gorgeous it is. Yes rain will have kept the number of visitors down that day, normally in summer it is, as you say, packed. You were very brave going down those slippery cobbles in the rain my dears, I'm so glad you were OK. Would have loved to have seen the tea shop etc but no worries. Thanks so very much for uploading. What a mixed video, you must have put it together over several different days, but I loved it so much. TTFN xxxx

I love the fishing villages. They are so quaint and full of charm. I have always enjoyed being near the water. I love to hear the birds in the villages. I'm guessing they're sea gulls.
I would love to visit an English tea house. I love summer rain. I don't know why but it sounds so calming. So I love hearing the rain on your umbrella. Maybe I love it so much because we don't get enough rain during the summer here in TN US. Thanks for sharing another fun adventure! ❤
