The farewell to Ten still haunts me to this day and I can't watch the whole sequence of him saying goodbye to everyone and then regenerating without crying like a baby. My favourite pieces of 10th Doctor trivia are:
    1) In The End of Time Part II when they are taking him down the stairs in the chair, he really was in pain because he had recently had surgery and his back was sore. I'm not happy he was in pain, just it's interesting that he's not acting at all in that scene. What a trooper.
    2) He and John Barrowman choose to wear those long coats that they called their "Superhero coats" because when they ran, the back of them flapped like capes and in "Utopia" when they're running from the Future Kind they're actually racing each other for real.
Great vid as always you wonderful lads and lasses. 😉

I definitely knew the accent one. Interestingly, it shows how clever Moffat was too, because Amy Pond is the last voice the 11th Doctor hears, and who is the next Doctor after that? Scotland’s Peter Capaldi! (Also the last ‘companion’ accent the War Doctor hears are the Northern tones of Clara, and the next Doctor after him was… Northern!). Also knew the viewing figures one.

  • @PabSungenis

I liked the line Tennant gave at an interview before starting. When asked if he would use his Scottish accent, he said “Chris Eccleston said lots of planets have a north, but EVERY planet has a Scotland!”

Here’s one: his brown suit was made from trousers. While shopping for looks, Tennant found the brown trousers with blue pinstripes and said that’s it. The costume designer said they couldn’t match the fabric for a blazer. So they wound up buying the entire stock from the store and managed to make five suits for Tennant and stunt men to wear. Making the blue suit in season three was advantageous because it allowed the brown ones to last longer. Tennant was gifted his suit when he was done and wore it for the 50th special.

Another point about the suits: if the episode took place in the future (ie, after 2010 CE in Earth's calendar), he wore the solid blue suit. If it took place in our past, he wore the brown pinstripes. 😎

Great video and loving river's sonic ellie! 😂😊 In the series 3 episode Smith and Jones, david struggled to say the alien name Judoon (specifically the 'oon' bit) because it was hard for him to say it in his put on estuary english accent, being that he's actually Scottish. So to make it more difficult for him, russell t davies gave him the line "judoon platoon upon the moon", just for fun. But being the professional that he is david tennant pulled it off flawlessly! 😂 Also when they broke the time rotor in the tardis set whilst filming the tenth doctor's regeneration, they had to partially fix it ready to film the sarah jane adventures episode the wedding of sarah jane which was filmed after david tennant had left the show and filming for series 5 had already started. That's why you don't see the time rotor moving up and down in that episode of the sarah jane adventures. 😊😊

Personally I would have thought having David's doctor fully break down during his regeneration would have been so good, for a couple reasons:
    1. Regeneration as the doctor said is basically death. He dies and a "new man goes sauntering away, while I'm dead"
    2. His doctor was known for being a bit emotional, so it wouldn't be out of place to see him cry whilst on the brink of death
    And finally
    3. His doctor did the most morally questionable stuff in the show's history (Aside from Collin Baker, that doctor was fucked up at the time). He played with Martha Jones's emotions on many occasions in season three, slaughtered the Racnosses children, and turned into a bit of a monster during the "Time lord victorious" arc. When on death's doorstep, it's not difficult to imagine he'd regret all those decisions, and weep over them.
Maybe Russel T Davis will release this alternate ending at a later point, maybe he won't. If he does I'll have a box of tissues at the ready 🔵❤❤

Hey, you did miss one for #10's accent: they wrote the Judoon's speech patterns and "words" to eff with him and his Scottish mouth, which had a TERRIBLE time trying to talk back to them, LOL!
I'm very glad you noted that it's NOT just the 10th with bigger-on-the-inside pockets! I mean, did you see the size of the bomb #9 used in the shop with the Autons?? And way back in Classic Who's run, the Doctor would ALWAYS have much more in their pockets than they would be physically able to hold, and that wasn't always just #4 that did that!
I knew all of the others, too, except the comic book version of _The Lodger._ I'll have to see if I can locate it at something less than an insane price. 😄
But you REALLY should change these titles, because I always come to see if I can actually LEARN more about my beloved show, but I seldom do, and that makes me sad. 😔

I don't understand Instagram, but it ordered me to watch this again, so here we are.
I think my initial comment covered my thoughts pretty well, except...
    1) If you mention that you lack a certain thing (say, a screwdriver prop), and you are a much-loved , dare I say adored, personality (c'mon, look at the comments), you may be surprised and delighted by what shows up in the mail (if I could afford it, it would already be done).
    2) Those ratings numbers don't take into account DVD/Bluray viewing (yeah, I know, how could they?). If they did, A Christmas Carol would be number 1 by a longshot just based off my own viewings (every Christmas Eve, occasionally just because).
Now that that's out of the way, stop ordering me around! I was gonna do it anyway.

Voyage of the Damned should have an asterixis just as much as City of Death regarding ratings. Why fandom doesn't want to admit it was primarily the 'Kylie factor'. She was plugged to death including front page with a dalek on DWM. Poor old Clive Swift never got the same attention. Do we really believe the same ratings would have been in that episode if she had not be the central guest star of that story? As for her character Astrid - nah, did little for me. The episode was a nice joy ride but little more. Some nice joviality and festive fun.

He doesn't sound English AT ALL to me - still Scottish and then when he speaks IRL, he doesn't sound TOO different for me. You know a catchphrase is something the character says a lot, like 9th "fantastic", 10th "allons-y" and "molto bene", 11th "geronimo", 12th "pudding brains", it doesn't have to be the first thing the Doctor ever said onscreen.

The novelization of "Wrath Of Khan" had Saavik as Spock's half-Vulcan, half-Romulan daughter, a product of Sock's tryst with that Romulan commander, but that is officially denied as canon.

Neither of the 10th Doctor's brown or blue suits feature a waistcoat - they're always full jackets including sleeves - a waistcoat doesn't have sleeves. 🤦 Tennant DOES wear one as part of his 14th Doctor costume though.

What I've always wanted to know is why Number Ten's regeneration was so hard on the TARDIS to begin with. None of the others were that hard on the ship.

I think it was because of the massive amount of radiation in his body, the regeneration process was removing all the radiation while also healing him. Couple that with the long time he took to actually regenerate, as he actually went and said goodbye to ALL of his companions, New and Classic.
TLDR: He waited too long to regenerate (same as the 12th), and the radiation was blowing out of his body, being a walking nuclear bomb, thus creating a very destructive effect. I hope that helps

In the canon of the show, Ten had one of the shortest runs as an incarnation. That’s why it was so emotionally charged, Ten really didn’t wanna go. That may be a reason why. Almost like a refusal to regenerate

    I has a stupid question ...
In D & D, if you put a portable hole in a bog of holding, it causes an explosion and dumps everything into the Astral plane.
Do you suppose anything special would happen with these items if they are in the TARDIS?
( ... we get a comic book crossover JUST to answer this question? lol! They have Chronomancer in D & D 1995, 2nd edition. Its obscure, but was a thing ... )

Accepting that the whole numbering of Doctors has become very awkward and some may say subjective. To me though if David Tennant comes back and is the same persona as before then he is not a new incarnation, bur rather one from the past popping back. Has anyone thought about the master and 13 exchanging bodies by force and that this might lead to some explanation as to why we get ten back temporarily. As for the Childless Time - well that is simply not worth going there. It never happened. I denounce it. As the Doctor would often say in stories to companions 'it isn't real Jo, ..fight it' or all those ghosts of comparisions past in The Five Doctors.
Now the War Doctor was an incarnation and was a bloody decent Timelord. For me he should have been given a number. The Fugitive Doctor can always be a future incarnation so that doesn't have to throw the system out of whack.
In the back of my mind though I keep thinking or Romana in Destiny of the Daleks and her multitude of bodies that she was trying on as if purchasing a new outfit. Does this create an assumption that her personality was going to remain the same? Or do us fans just take it all far too seriously. The problem is that fans (myself included) numbers matter. Many people will say they like the 2nd Doctor or the 11th just as those who would say Patrick Troughton or Matt Smith. Furthermore in a show about Time and Space we really need some sort of solid numbering system to simply keep track of everything.
There will always be new viewers come on board who want to learn about the classic series. Each incarnation's era is important to historically and as a lens of societal change. Each Doctor's era coincide with the time and fashions of an era. For example, Colin Baker's costume - could you get any more eighties or would you really want too? Social mores and values are reflected in so many aspects of the show. This is why many fans were not happy with the portrayal of William Hartnell in Twice Upon a Time. For many it seemed unfair and actually an exaggeration of the times - rather stereotypical.
So, after my tedious waffle, I have convinced myself that the number assigned to each Doctor is important. The thirteenth regeneration my take place but if not as a new Doctor then no new number - doesn't that just make sense.
Best catchphrase: Fantastic - very simple but the Show had come back ablazed with glory and when Eccleston said that word the emotion was phenomenal. Worst catchphrase: Allons Y - just too over the top and puke for me. I am one of the few who didn't like the 'I Don't Want to Go' final saying, as for me the Doctor is so selfless I envision him saying something more like Matt Smith did 'I Will Always Remember When the Doctor Was Me etc...' If they had of used one of Tennant's most emotional takes, it is possible the viewers may have found that too much. They did get the balance right even if I was not a fan of the self-focus.
Geronimo did capture the adventurous spirit ot Matt Smith. As for 12,...did he have a catch phrase? I don't really think Capaldi needed one as his characterisation was so profound and his speeches were magnificent to behold. My favourite line in all Who, 'Everything ends and it is always sad but there are always new beginnings and that is happy, so be happy?' A beautiful way to approach the life we have and those around us.
