The idea is that every 10th anniversary the BBC rereleases An Adventure In Space and Time with the current Doctor at that point being the one in that scene. That was the intention from the very beginning, which is why Matt Smith looked very green screened in (because he was, for this reason). Technically you could call this the 2023 release then.

We saw the wardrobe closet when Tennant was choosing his outfit the first time, and it appears to be an infinite spiral. Since we know the TARDIS can make anything at will, my theory is worn or dirty outfits get thrown down the spiral to get recycled, and a new copy is produced to replace it. This also explains how the pockets can be bigger on the inside - the copies use Time Lord Technology even if the original was ordinary clothing like Matt Smith's or Jodie Whittaker's when they selected them.

Then there is the Fugitive Doctor (... a darker Version of River Song - very, very cool) and the burn down regeneration from 13th to 14th took place in October 2022 - after some muddeling about a "Master Doctor" due to forced regeneration, body snatching and redoing that process. 3 uncounted great actors from the official show and 5 more in the Steven Moffat skit from 1999: "Curse of Fatal Death" with lots and lots of the first ever seen bronze Dalecs
"Four minutes? That's ages. What if I get bored?" - I still think Paul McGann has the best Doctor(Who) line ever buried in a web short back when web shorts were a real world thing. "The Night of the Doctor" - we didn't have TH-cam yet. You had to hunt for this short.

Ok, love you Ncuti, but a genuine question, 8th Doctor Adventures TV series when? If there's a WhoVerse, Paul McGann deserves more than a movie, a minisode, and a cameo, he deserves at least one season of genuine Doctor Who under his belt.
I was first introduced to Doctor Who with Jon Pertwee briefly before his change to Tom Baker. During Colin Baker's time, I was a teen more into music than tv and lost track of the show. Coming back to New Who with Christopher Eccleston.
Started with Nine during Eleven’s era. There’s a great many episodes of the classic era I’ll have to watch eventually, so loved this detailed recap! No SARAH JANE mention? Mickey and Harkness are both missing, BUT Rory wasn’t forgotten as he often is… And someone else is missing from the revival era, too, which I don’t take any issue with, since I found the character grating.
By traditional BBC nomenclature ("seasons" = Classic Who, "series" = NuWho) you'd have to go back to 1963 for that one, which makes the BBC & Disney+'s decision to brand this as "Season 1" utterly confusing.
Paul McGann did return for a brief, and excellently written short called "The Night of the Doctor." There was also John Hurt as The War Doctor, for the show's 50th Anniversary, Richard E. Grant, Peter Cushing, and Rowan Atkinson (in a comic relief story by Steven Moffat.). Apparently, the show has since added Infinity(x) doctors to the canon since, which was completely predictable.

His love of Jon Pertwee makes me so happy 😊 He's my favorite Classic Doctor
Well, that's not quite every Doctor, but it's all the Doctors who've had a leading role in the show.
Steven Moffat perfected The Doctor's speeches. They always reminded us of how old, broken, yet still wise and kind the Doctor was.
Hartnell didn't introduce us to Time Lords. They would have to wait until the very end of Patrick Troughton's tenure.
Actually he did there was the monk first on screen time lord but he was just known as same race as the dr
1:50 is the second doctor playing the Outlander theme, possibly with his Scottish companion Jamie next to him?
The ‘outlander theme’ is an old Scottish song “Skye Boat Song” so yes he would be playing it next to Jamie because it is about the Jacobite rebellions
@@cameronbeattie3087 Still pretty cool considering Jamie from outlander is named after that companion
He's a Pertwee fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then there was the Dream Lord...and the flesh copy of 11...

@@FrostyScarf well well well
Am I wrong but it sounds like he's saying Davidson rather than Davison? What do you think?
Yes, he definitely does.
That's what I thought too. Unfortunately, a common mistake. Like when people say 'Ecclestone' or whatever. ☹
Ncuti, you shouldn't trust everything you read on the cover of Doctor Who Magazine.
Nicely done Ncuti! Jo Martin is a Canon Doctor, too. 🌟
He said "every core doctor", so no war, nor fugitive, nor valeyard, etm.
You can tell which Doctors are his favorite from the way he talks 😂
Barely talked about Baker lol
@@cornparade6874which baker are you referring to?
Ncuti is an ICON
Very cool to see this, the show's getting a lot of new fans and the backcatalogue is very daunting, if the Doctor himself tells you it though, suddenly it's all the same show.
In the U.S., it helps the old show is on Tubi which is nice.
What is more astounding about this show now is that Ncuti was not around for 7 of these incarnations on screen. And I was born about half way through number 3. It's been a long road, constantly updated, far from over yet. Because this show is not about sticking to one time. It would have died in 1966 if it had. Fortunately, kids are more flexible...
Some phrases of this script feel like they were written by Chat GPT and not checked beforehand....
Like what?

13 and 15 would get along so well. they have the exact same energy
Would love to see a multi-Doctor story with those two in the future!
@@gamegab7271 same. i’d like to see how 15 would react to 13’s outfit
Nah, if anything he needs to meet 9, 11 and 12 from the new doctor who era.
@@nikolaspapanagnou2723 i feel like him and 12 would clash. not that they’d have any actual hostility towards each other, but they just don’t match very well
@@scdl-m2zThat's the fun, though.
I went to a math competition with my girlfriend. There were two teams. The “Time Lords” versus “The Daleks.” The Time Lords were challenged to do a calculation of Y terms and the Daleks had to compute the X’s.
My girlfriend bet me the Time Lords would figure it out in nine rounds.
I took the Daleks to X Term in Eight.
0:16 This footage is incorrectly attributed. It comes from the 2013 telefilm An Adventure In Space and Time (this particular scene being a 2013 re-edit, as Matt Smith originally stood where Ncuti does)
It is an official clip where Ncuti is there instead of Matt can’t remember what it’s from but there are two separate clips one with Matt and one with Ncuti hopefully I helped out
The idea is that every 10th anniversary the BBC rereleases An Adventure In Space and Time with the current Doctor at that point being the one in that scene. That was the intention from the very beginning, which is why Matt Smith looked very green screened in (because he was, for this reason). Technically you could call this the 2023 release then.
@@InternetStorm yep that’s what it was I didn’t really know how to phrase it thanks for the assist
I actually NEEDED this video as an American that just started watching the new Disney series❤❤
Peter Cushing never gets any love.
Same concept and names but different characters and no time lords ( back then I think time lords was still a mystery to fans but still)
@@chrizmartin9890 Yeah, I know it's not considered cannon. I just have a soft spot for Invasion Earth 2150 seeing how it's the first piece of Doctor Who media I ever watched.
“Introduced the world to an alien called the Time Lord.” - What?
Yeah that was interesting to me because I'm pretty sure timelords weren't a thing until the wargames starring Patrick troughton
Jo Martin, John Hurt and Michael Jayston wish to be heard.
Apparently they are not mentioned because he said at the beginning that he was breaking down every core Doctor in Doctor Who ever.
and Richard E. Grant, who's now canon as well!
No mention of River Song?
Aw.
River wasn't a companion, but rather his wife, conceived in the Tardis, and able to regenerate. In series terms she was a recurring character, while companions stayed around for a season or more. Jack Harkness was another recurring character who ended up with a spinoff series.
or michael jayston in a colin baker episode
I got a little hot under the collar when he said “he got a much MUCH larger….. wardrobe”
this probably the only thing i dont like so far, i like them having a distinctive outfit
@@The0thDoctor fair enough I kiiinda get that but I just gotta respect the drip, he looks cool asf, also I’m just thinking about like for instance 3 and 12.. they changed up what they wore pretty regularly and it’s never an issue
@@tom_4615 3 and 12 had an element of familiarity though, mainly being their velvet coat, 15 just seems to be in something completely different every episode
@@The0thDoctor People have wondered about wearing the same outfit constantly wearing it out or getting stinky.
@@The0thDoctorIn all fairness, he’s over thousands of years old. It’d be inevitable his mind would start changing like the weather at some point.
My favorite Doctor is still Pertwee. I love his swashbuckly clothing and crazy hair.
This script is absolutely AI generated. 0:47 The alien called the time lord??? hilarious
It’s obviously just a slip of the tounge
Incorrect
@@TheMultiPickle ok why would ncuti be reading from a script for a pretty simple video
@@thebrokentable7554 He is literally an actor
@@TheMultiPickle why would he be reading off a script for a very barebones lesson on doctor who, especially when he’s done research, like in an instagram post he literally has the classic series dvds. It’s just a slip of the tounge
People are saying this guy knows next to nothing about Doctor Who. They should watch this video immediately.
Fun video for new viewers, and Ncuti does a charming job... Some of the 'factual' scripting is slightly odd? Almost comes across as AI written in places.
The 50th anniversary in 2013 brought us the War Doctor (first official Doctor Who with a beard - after the cinematic version played by Peter Cushing - in colour too, in the 60s) AND a rerun of the 10th Doctor + introduction of the eyebrows of 12th!!! Then there is the Fugitive Doctor (... a darker Version of River Song - very, very cool) and the burn down regeneration from 13th to 14th took place in October 2022 - after some muddeling about a "Master Doctor" due to forced regeneration, body snatching and redoing that process.
3 uncounted great actors from the official show and 5 more in the Steven Moffat skit from 1999: "Curse of Fatal Death" with lots and lots of the first ever seen bronze Dalecs
well there has been a lot of AI in dr who
Pretty cool thank you❤
Ncuti isn't a bad Doctor.... He's suffering under bad script writing, the same pain as Jodi had to deal with
Fr
"Four minutes? That's ages. What if I get bored?" - I still think Paul McGann has the best Doctor(Who) line ever buried in a web short back when web shorts were a real world thing. "The Night of the Doctor" - we didn't have TH-cam yet. You had to hunt for this short.
YOU ALL FORGOT ABOUT THE 50th ANIVERSARY AND THE WAR DOCTOR
He said "every core doctor", so no war, nor fugitive, nor valeyard, nor curator etm.
Not that i like it, but they explained it.
@@oke4326 fair point
I already love his doctor
All the Numbered Doctors. No love for War or Fugitive, but that's ok.
Really love Ncuti's energy! Seeing him excited makes me feel more excited, if that was possible!
As soon as Ncuti got to David Tennant, I was like, "Yes! My favorite!" I don't watch full episodes cuz my ADHD wouldn't allow it but I would love to if that wasn't the case. But I just watch clips instead. But no disrespect to the other doctors. I'm sure they did or are currently doing their best.
I pray for this man's success.
The dramatic ominous orchestral music for Jodie is hilarious 😂
People whinging that this didn’t cover ‘all the Doctors’…
Save some spoilers and discoveries for the new viewers going back to catch up, eh 😉
He started by saying "all the main Doctors", so it was obvious he wasn't gonna cover the Valeyard, the Meta-Crisis Doctor, the War Doctor, the Fugitive Doctor, etc.
@@richellebrittain2127So you're just going to forget the guy that the 10th Doctor met from the episode titled "The Next Doctor" didn't call himself the Doctor?
Ok.
@Exit911YT Actually he DID call himself "the Doctor" initially, until the real Doctor figured out what happened to him. Still doesn't make him an "etc.", much less a "main Doctor".
0:16 when did that scene happen??
Sad John Hurt noises
I know there's only 1 episode with John Hurt but i really loved his portrayal and i wish he got a little nod in these types of videos
Love how ncutis favorite seems to be pertwee
I know all this yet I watched whole video as if I am learning more information.
‘Three companions’ He means Rose, Martha and Donna, but should have included Mickey as well (if not also sarah Jane and Jack)
Great video. My only complaint is that you skipped 2 Doctors. The War Doctor and the fugitive doctor
Good Gods I'm gonna be obsessed with Ncuti Gatwa arnt I?
I'd be happy for an extended cut of this please thank you!
Most of the original doctors had more than one companion.
Started with Nine during Eleven’s era. There’s a great many episodes of the classic era I’ll have to watch eventually, so loved this detailed recap!
No SARAH JANE mention?
Mickey and Harkness are both missing, BUT Rory wasn’t forgotten as he often is…
And someone else is missing from the revival era, too, which I don’t take any issue with, since I found the character grating.
David Tennant was a man about town! Tom Baker had eight companions and married one of them.

Kinda forgetting the war doctor played John hurt sandwiched between McCann and ecceleson

Seeing Ncuti do this has really given me good feelings towards him as the doctor. I cant wait for Season 1!!
By traditional BBC nomenclature ("seasons" = Classic Who, "series" = NuWho) you'd have to go back to 1963 for that one, which makes the BBC & Disney+'s decision to brand this as "Season 1" utterly confusing.
Paul McGann did return for a brief, and excellently written short called "The Night of the Doctor."
There was also John Hurt as The War Doctor, for the show's 50th Anniversary, Richard E. Grant, Peter Cushing, and Rowan Atkinson (in a comic relief story by Steven Moffat.).
Apparently, the show has since added Infinity(x) doctors to the canon since, which was completely predictable.
OMG Ncuti called Jon Pertwee "my baby"! I love him!
Awesome! But I really missed John Hurt aka the War-Doctor. He just appeared in the 50th anniversary special - but he still is the Doctor...
He said "every core doctor", so no war, nor fugitive, nor valeyard, etm.
