Your video Sir is the only one that clearly explained the hot and cold by turning that knobb as you clearly demonstrated. I'm not going to replace the unit. I'll just turn it so I'll have my ac back on!!! Thank you very much!
I replaced mine back in the summer, now it's not working again... Ugh! I will be working on it today!! Thanks for the video! Short, quick and to the point!!
So mine “works” but the second I turn the nob even a millimeter past fully cold it turns hot. There’s no variable “blend” or in between. I’m guessing replacing this should solve that issue?
I a strange problem with my 2002 Silverado. The ac quit last summer. We believe it's the evaporator. I can deal with no ac but I have super heated air coming up from under the dash with all controls in the off position. I reached down and felt the duct work in front of console on the floor under the dash. It was so hot I could barely touch it. The duct work over on passenger side near cab filter was barely warm. Where could this heat be coming from? It's not coming out of the vents. It's like driving an oven down the road!
I don’t know if anyone will see this comment but my metal rod that turns the door is broke off flush. How can I replace that or fix that? It’s getting hot so anyone advice would be appreciated!
Yeah my problem is the door to control the temp gets stuck to heat so even during the summer it gets stuck... replaced the blend door motor for it but i still hear it get stuck how do you change that
I have a 2007 Chevy Silvdrado with the single knob for cold and heat. The blend door is up by the glove box. Sometimes I get cold air out of the vents but it will turn to hot air and I don't turn the knob. I'm confused. Any suggestions.
Issue I have with a 99 gmc sierra. I have replaced these modules 4-5 times and when I do, each one can turn the temp to the opposite one time and then never again back to the other. I’ve taken apart the module to find the plastic gears don’t stop turning once I turn the temp knob to either hot or cold. The module then turns too far and damage the plastic gears. I have no clue why the truck is causing these modules to not stop turning and break them all the time. If anyone knows more information please let me know!
I got a new one and I plugged it in down there and turned on my truck and move the temperature knob and it didn't move not even slow like it would help me
Is this part of the noise making thing? I get a ticking noise when my 2 switches are all the way down on cold an when I put them up half way on cold it shuts up 😂 is this the solution ? Or is the door actuator piece I need to switch I’m confused ?
Got in my truck this morning and everything functions like normal except it blows really cold all the to work. It’s 25 degrees here this morning. The blower works and changes from defrost to floor and and front vents correctly. Could this be my problem since the heat isn’t coming on and everything else is working?
Yeah, very likely it’s this one shown in the video. I also have a video for the other doing the defrost and such, but it should be the one in the video you just watched. Here is the other if you need it someday Air only blows out defrost or top vents: mode actuator Blend door 99-2007 GM Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon th-cam.com/video/HRYHZoIO89M/w-d-xo.html
Love your content Dan long time subscriber here. I have a 14 Mustang GT and I'm getting bubbling on the front of the hood lip, from what I've been researching the aluminum and paint have been a problem on some years Mustangs. In your experience should I get the paint work and Hood redone or should I bite the bullet and buy a new hood because it's going to keep happening thanks.
What if we replaced the blend door actuator but we're still aren't able to get it to cycle? Not even installed but plugged in, the actuator is not cycling. We tried a new climate control module and that didn't change anything either. Any ideas?
What makes my ac compressor not come on when I turn it to the on position? But when I remove the relay and place a wire in replacement of the relay the compressor switches on
I have a 2003 chevy silverado LS and right now the air only comes out of the top vents and the warm air only works on the passenger side....what do I do?
My 2001 Suburban only blows hot when the temp dial is turned as far as it can go. As soon as I move it one degree counterclockwise, it's ice cold. Is that the blend door or something else? Thanks.
Your video Sir is the only one that clearly explained the hot and cold by turning that knobb as you clearly demonstrated. I'm not going to replace the unit. I'll just turn it so I'll have my ac back on!!!

Thank you. Mine was stuck on hot during the summer. You saved me a lot of money.
4 yrs ago wow.. just came across it now this really help thanks.
That just happened to me today. I heard a thud on the driver side and it stopped blowing cold air. I’m wondering if this is it?
Strictly awesome 👍 your videos are amazing

I appreciate you for this video. Saved my life man

Did it work for you
Joe smoe, did you replace it, and did it work? Mine is the same is your’s so I am going to replace it also. Thanks
Mine is also doing this. It is either full hot or full cold.
Same thing for me
Same here

New subscriber, good, detailed, informative, quick videos!
thx your video indirectly answered my question and saved me from spend a lot of money. good job

This was such a big help thanks alot up to this day your video still helps out people awesome big thumbs up 👍.
I’ve already replace my actuator and heater core and my heat is still cold I’ve also replaced my thermostat
Hey Thank you! This video was very helpful!
I payed to replace mine..not is stuck on cold and I need heater...took a while to need heater that is not warrantees I think
How do I know if the actuator is doing a complete or full turn as it should. The new one moves a little bit, less than when I turn it by hand

No idea why but this has happened to me with two replacements
Very interesting ill have to check mine bcuz mine has a hard time getting hot😅
Thanks,,,,Great video....
This video just saved me some $$$$$$$
Great video.
What happens if I broke the lil tab that witches from cold to hot because mine is broken
did you get it fixed?
Ey. Bro. Thanks. Lot. Hard to find. And. The. Saw you video ✌️✌️👌
I got a new one and I plugged it in down there and turned on my truck and move the temperature knob and it didn't move not even slow like it would help me
I don’t have that’s twist part on my truck
Thank you!
i cant get to that third screw way in the back that is up a hole lmfaoo
Nice 👍🏽

I would find a reputable shop to paint it with a lifetime warranty.
Will this work for a 96z71 mine will not get hot don’t hear the click when I switch it to heat
What if I have a dual control for driver and passenger? Will I need to buy two and replace for both sides? I have a 04 Silverado 1500 Z71
i have a question, the actuator in the middle closest to the driver what does that control...
I got a C and a little bit of heat, then it quits
This is exactly the video I needed. Thanks
What if we replaced the blend door actuator but we're still aren't able to get it to cycle? Not even installed but plugged in, the actuator is not cycling. We tried a new climate control module and that didn't change anything either. Any ideas?
I would check a fuse to make sure it isn’t blown
@dannyjohnsonsgarage We actually tried a 3rd actuator (this one from NAPA) and it WORKS! Thank you for the help.
Can't figure out why it still blows out hit only from defrost
What makes my ac compressor not come on when I turn it to the on position? But when I remove the relay and place a wire in replacement of the relay the compressor switches on
You’re forcing it on that way. It is likely not running because of low refrigerant or too much pressure, so be careful
Simple. Thanks.
What if the air remains hot while turning the metal peg???? I replaced actuator with no success
Sky Lander You’ll want to verify your a/c actually works. Do you hear the compressor click on? th-cam.com/video/BmkKELmTva0/w-d-xo.html
That’s for both sides?
I have a 2003 chevy silverado LS and right now the air only comes out of the top vents and the warm air only works on the passenger side....what do I do?
It will be a blend door like these, but on 03 you have dual climate control as I recall, so it might be in a different place
This was my blend door th-cam.com/video/HRYHZoIO89M/w-d-xo.html
Which actuator should I get? Because my air stays hot and it only blows out from the defrost
Sounds like two actuators. The one in the video and this one too th-cam.com/video/HRYHZoIO89M/w-d-xo.html
What if the ac is cold in the front (driver and passenger) but for the rear seats, it blows out hot
Probably the same blend motor but for the rear air
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage which is located in the rear section?
My 2001 Suburban only blows hot when the temp dial is turned as far as it can go. As soon as I move it one degree counterclockwise, it's ice cold. Is that the blend door or something else? Thanks.
Most likely the blend door as it still works properly for heat and cold
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Sorry, could you clarify? The blend door IS the problem or is it a resistor or something else. Fan works fine.
I don't hear sound
What is the part called if i go to autozone? Blend door actuator?
Yes, that should be the one. Mode actuator would be for floor, vents, defrost so don’t get that one
I would not get an autozone one. Order from rock auto. My autozone one only lasted 1 year
What if it's blowing hot only from the driver side?
Is it a dual climate control system ?
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage yes
What year was these Tahoe
2000. In 2003 they went to a dual climate control setup
You have to be a magician or double joined to screw that back together
What if air is stuck blowing out of the defrost vents
Then you’ll want to look at this video th-cam.com/video/HRYHZoIO89M/w-d-xo.html
Yo. Estale. Uno. Y. TodaviaEcha. Aire. Frio
You saved me in the 90℉ heat! 🌡
So what is the blend door actuator the one inside dashboard that's impossible to get at?
Did u find out cuz I nes to know too
