Hi guys!! Hope y'all enjoyed this video. Regarding sound quality, all these microphones sound really good. For me, the the Bullet the Icon Pro sounded best, but if I were on a tighter budget... the sound quality of the Bullet was solid 💪🏻 To be honest, you can't really go wrong with any of these 🫡
Hello, Edward! Back in the day, I used to binge-watch your videos while on the hunt for a good microphone. Your thorough microphone comparisons and reviews, complete with singing and testing, helped me find the perfect one. I vividly remember stumbling upon your cover "Big Jet Plane." It was unlisted video but thanks to a link you graciously shared, I got to enjoy the entire song. Your calming voice and the acoustic vibes became a source of comfort, and I saved that video on my TH-cam app for those long listens. A bit cheesy, but it even turned into a morning ritual for me. However, with my recent phone change, I can't access to the video, and since it was unlisted, tracking it down is proving to be a challenge. If it's okay with you, could you please drop the link to the acoustic cover of "Big Jet Plane"?
I want to get a condenser studio microphone around $400-$450 and even though I've watched your videos, I find them all great. I would love something versatile and not too bright sounding. Really liked the video, keep doing these interesting and entertaining videos!
I have the pd200x and the sound suckes atm because the audio lags so it make my voice stutter and it just randomly stops working and then I gotta plug the mic out and in again it's really annoying
I have an SM7b, and like it A LOT. However, I’ve considered the Icon for a while. I think it sounds beautiful, but I’ve been working in an untreated space. Figured the dynamic SM7b would be better. Building my studio now, so may upgrade to the icon once it’s finished.
Great choice of microphones and review. Much appreciated. I would also like to add one mic for people to consider. The RODE NT1 Signature Series Condenser microphone at $160 or if both XLR and USB are required, the RODE NT1 5th Gen Condenser mic @ $250. An honourable mention would also be the SE electronics Dynacaster @ $276.
The maono really impressed me as it sounds either as it were on an isolated booth or conected to a very expensive noise gate, even though it lacks the cripsness and air from the bullet and the podkit, which weren't as harsh with sybillants as the audiotechnica and shure. The bullet and maono seems to be the logical choice for those of us who do not have an audio interface.
The audio interface may be necessary if you are broadcasting live, receiving guests, or making music. Apart from that, USB microphones are now of very high quality and it is necessary to make a lot of effort to understand the difference. I also use Apogee mic plus. I hear perfect sound
I originally purchased the Icon Pro. Sold it and tried many of the popular models in the price range and cheaper. I ended up buying it back. It particularly shines if you do a lot of Zoom calls or prefer to have your own voice come through with more accuracy. Another plus is it filters out noise better than other condenser mics I tried. SM7B sounded great of course adn the AT2040 was probably 3rd place for me. MV7 is so thin sounding and overrated to me.
Eh at is your opinion about which one sounds better? What is the best if you don’t want to be so close to the microphone to have that amazing podcast voice sound? I want the audio to be capture the same way close of a bit distant of the microphone….Thoughts?
Really like your videos! And I have a question about two specific microphones (The BAIFEILI C414 and the PROAR C414) The question is if you know the difference is between those two microphones, And if so what is better?
For me, if the microphone sounds good and it doesn’t pick up too much noise, use it. Most microphones, even basic USB mics work well enough for podcasting.
I think podcasters are just going by the visual wannabe fad. I personally feel that podcast mics are a trend. In the video production broadcast world mics are clip on or wireless clip on or boom. These pod mics place a divider there in your face and looking at it from outside looks like you're talking into a big black can. I predict this trend will go away and the market will be left with a ton of MV7 SM7 mics
My wife and I sit side by side at our duel gamer desk. We currently struggle with background noise and echo. I use a headset with a mic on it and she uses a Blue Yieti. We stream and plan to podcast. I like the Bullet a lot but am still not sure which would be good for fixing echo and suit our situation. Please help.
Hello, I have an interview style video podcast using Zoom pro to conduct the virtual interviews. Not reviewed here but considering an SM7dB. I'm looking for a streamlined setup that is easy to operate for one person. I'd prefer hardware solution over a subscription service I'll pay for until doomsday. What is needed to get the SM7dB's audio into the PC? The videos already go to an 3rd party editor who has done a pretty good job with post-production audio. Thank you.
. For someone who uses his voice well, the listener cannot tell the difference between using Shure SM7B and Maono PD400X. You must have a very sensitive ear. A good speaker will perform well in both. That's why no one needs to worry about why I can't buy Shure SM7B...
Maybe my ears are much to old, but I do not hear any big difference. I listen YT with external Dac amp streamer and a tube DACAmp and JBL or Jamo speakers. Not a bad setup, I should say, I would start the most cheap. Again not a big difference with the others. And as you say, you get a nice complete kit. Thanks for testing. 👍
I think my bro that as long as the voice come out clean, the rest depends how your voice is sweet. A bad voice no matter what u put to arrange it will always be bad. All what i need us a clean record then the mastering and mixing stay such talent.

the maono sounds really amazing to me. never heard of this before.
Maono microphone 👍👍👍
You need to test your ears, listen with a good headphone!
I don’t know what y’all heard but the Earth Works Icon pro just does it for me. What a beautiful sound.👐🏿

Thank you for watching! My fav condenser microphone between $400 - $500 is the AKG C214. A great vocal microphone for the price.
@@EdwardSmithMusic Thanks a lot for your reply! Best wishes!
Bullet sounds super Open and bright. Love it. If this was honest review then the bullet represents the best not only value but the actual quality.
The MAONO microphone sounds the best!!!
I bought the PD400X from this video🤣
I have the pd200x and the sound suckes atm because the audio lags so it make my voice stutter and it just randomly stops working and then I gotta plug the mic out and in again it's really annoying
@MaxPlay11111 might be something wrong with the mic I have the pd200x as well and haven't had any problems
@MaxPlay11111u might have a faulty unit. I have a slew of Moano products that sounds great!

After a year what's your favorite? Sm7b is still very clean the Icon is crisp in the highs but has mild lows no?

I like the sound of PD400X, it sounds pretty cool compare to others base on the price.
the maono sounds rly amazing for me. never heard of this before.
It does sound really good! 🫡

Why do you prefer the Icon Pro compared to Shure?
That Maono mic sounds amazing
For 150€ pd400x is the best microphone for this price?
Eh at is your opinion about which one sounds better?

The Shure SM7b is the best about the sound!
The maono is wild. Almost sounds as good as the sm7b
Really like your videos! And I have a question about two specific microphones (The BAIFEILI C414 and the PROAR C414)
The question is if you know the difference is between those two microphones, And if so what is better?
Shure SM7B!!!
SM7DB !!!
What about RE20? IMO actually I like it more than sm7b because of the ‘compressed’ like sound on sm7b really annoys me actually lol
Yes RE20 or RE320 both deserve to be in the mix.
You missed the Rode Podmic USB. One of the best sounding ones, in the same category as MV7+
I want to ask what your take is on using sdc/shotgun mics for a podcast?
For me, if the microphone sounds good and it doesn’t pick up too much noise, use it. Most microphones, even basic USB mics work well enough for podcasting.
Great review
Great microphones with dope sound qualities
dope content as usual
sounds good i would see your next parts on youube🙂
Please advise I need a beginners mic 🎙️ for a podcast aa well as light , I'm so clueless and there's so many online
What headphones do you use when you compare the sound between different mics?
I use the Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro headphones 95% of the time. Currently I'm using a few pairs of $50 headphones... making a video on them atm.
When you say 'input' surely you mean output?
Are you using each mic that you are talking about as you talk about each one?
duh
ty for this vid!

MAONO PD400X and SHURE MV7 and SM7B closer to what we actually hear
earthworks icon pro has by far the best sound in my opinion
Agreed! I use it for my voice over recordings for TH-cam.

There is a reason Earth Works is Earth Works. There mics is legend and RTA mics is really accurate.

No procaster ?
I wasn't able to get my hands on certain microphones. Hopefully for the next podcast mic video I will.
