    I drank the anti-Glock Kool-aid for years but that changed a long time ago. My Gen 3 G19 is one of my favorite count on it to shoot and shoot accurately handguns. I also have a Gen 3 G29sf another great handgun. I sold my 45 acp Glocks in favor of the 10mm model because I just dig the G29sf, makes a great hiking gun.
    My Glocks are 100% Glock except for Talon grips. I may swap the sights someday.

    I own two 19's. One for the nightstand and one for the truck. Both completely stock. Neither one has ever had any issue. Both have thousands of rounds through them. Hard to tell which one is more accurate because they both are.

    I was one of those, well not a hater but I always felt from holding a 21 just once they were too thick for my little Barney Rubble hands. In the gunshop one day I asked to see a 19 Gen4 and ended up renting one. That was it, I had to have one. I now have about 1000 rounds through mine and love it.

    ive taken a lot of pistol self-defense classes and most of the students were shooting Glocks we were firing around 12000to15000rounds in 2 days mainly model 19 the only time I saw one stop working was a model 26 the owner had never cleaned or lubed it so I would not blame the pistol but blame the owner for not taking care of the gun. I was the only person there that even brought lube to the classes and I clean my pistol every night so never had a problem with my pistol, glock makes great pistols.

    I very much appreciate the down-to-earth, common sense that you bring; and the video portions are well edited--no real lag time: always some action to watch when you aren't speaking. Please address the grip angle issue. I used to have a couple of Glocks, and left them because I was exposed to 1911's--more natural grip angle. I know there is a company that makes grip modifiers that try to make the angle less steeped.

    I didn't like Glocks until a friend who was more knowledgable that I was about defensive firearms loaned me a well used Glock model 19. I bought it from him after firing 50 rounds through it and carried it for almost 15 years as my every day carry. I recently went to an XDS 45 for daily carry but if I really had to defend in place I would reach for my trusty old Gen2 Model 19. It is extremely reliable and surprisingly accurate for what it is. I would have to say it is my all time favorite centerfire pistol. I would have never owned one had I never shot it. Great video. Keep them coming.

    I don't hate Glocks, I just don't have one. I have shot several at the range. They all seem to be reliable, fairly well made. I guess I prefer a metal gun, verses a plastic one. Just my personal choice.

      It's hard to justify $600 for a Glock when a steel framed CZ 75 can be had for $450.

    • @Fugettaboutit
      @Fugettaboutit 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      At this point there isn't an objective, intrinsic quality/functionality difference between a polymer and metal frame on a pistol. Engineering has gotten that good, and as far as weight and resistance to corrosion, polymer actually takes steps ahead. But that aside, it really comes down to preference. But being an owner of Glocks and many other guns...the way I describe the differences (beyond technical/ergonomic, etc) from a personal standpoint...is that Glocks are more like excellent tools to me, whereas pistols such as my Sigs and older colts are more like 'instruments'. Both just as good at doing their primary job, but some you just connect more personally with beyond that. Again....just personal.

      Dan 821 my thoughts exactly. Shot several Glocks, and I can say they are great guns for what they do. But, I prefer HK, and have been buying HKs for a long time now. My wife and I both carry HKs in some form or another.

    Early in my LEO career, the Glocks came on the scene like a bad rash. Lots of guys recklessly handled them and shot themselves. Later on and being considered a veteran revolver toter, I spoke with a co-worker who was more veteran than myself who had been, like me, a traditionalist and a Colt Gold Cup toter. I said to him, "Am I seeing things or us that a Glock on your belt?! What the hell?!!!!" He reported that he recently made a traffic stop and after getting all three gangsters successfully cuffed and backseated, he conducted an inventory search of the car and found a Glock 19 with a 20 round magazine and a MAC-10 with a 30 round magazine. He went on to say, "Next day, I started carrying this Glock in 45 ACP."

      I remember the days when an officer could carry a six shot revolver and be very well protected. Unfortunately those days are gone and now I almost always have a high capacity pistol within easy reach. It sounds like your co-worker was a wise man. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on my video and I hope you had a great Christmas.

I'll never own one . My EDC is a Colt Commander in 45 ACP, before you Glock fanboys start in about round count let me say this........Its not how much lead you put in the air, its hitting the target that matters.

I have a lot of handguns and like them for different reasons but when it comes to dependability there's nothing like a Glock. I did buy a Glock 20, 10mm and it's the only Glock I've shot or owned that hurts my trigger finger after about 6 shots. haven't put a lot of time into trying to figure out why or a remedy , but a pair of thin gloves might do the trick.....keep up the good work!

    by the way great video BRO, great content!!! basically like when I was trying to say is that you know I understand how you say about 5 or 6 different states only do that actually it's a lot more now and if you try to order from my eBay or you know a different online basically they already have them pre riveted so no matter where you live you're only going to get that because of you may think that even though it's riveted and you order from eBay and thinking that you know what a state you live in that you're going to get the 15 rounds or 17 round magazine like their Glock 17 or the 19 basically what I'm trying to say is that they will send you a riveted magazine and you take the rivet out and it breaks the spring and everything so you ruined a magazine and you wasted however much money but basically that's why I was letting you know that to be careful not to order anything off of eBay or Amazon especially magazines go to your local gun store gun shop you know dealer because otherwise you're not going to get full magazine, unless ur purchased it and they come with the gun u buy....

      Nah, he's just a deity who wants to show off his gun collection. If you leave a camera in the desert he'll come and claim it and film something with it. That's what the guy from Florida did in this video. Mixup even thanks him for it.

    Never cared for shooting Glocks until i got to shoot a G17 gen 4 with the medium beaver tail backstrap installed on it. That was the first time I actually enjoyed shooting a Glock. The mag release can also be reversed if you're a left handed shooter as well on a gen 4. Thanks again for another great upload!

    • @mixup98
      @mixup98  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I forgot to mention in my video that the mag release is also larger on the Gen 4, which makes it much easier to do a mag change. I also installed the medium beaver tail backstrap and it fits my hand perfect. Thanks, Tommy for the comment.

    Just bought a g 40 mos. I'm taking it to a friendly bullseye gun match mid Aug. It's wearing a burris 3. Hope I'm not laughed out of town. I'm sure there will be some 1300.00+ 1911's and etc. This is my first Glock.

    • @danedearmond4905
      @danedearmond4905 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. Glocks are nice guns (just not my preference)... I give them all the credit they earned... But I own Walthers. I think they are both solid performance wise, my choice boils down to the aesthetics. Glocks are "blocky" and boring (? for the lack of a better word). The looks of the Walther tips the scales for me.
      I also have the RIA .22TCM/9mm TAC Ultra FS Combo.. Boy that thing is also fun.

    A Glock is a tool in every sense of the word. It's a VERY good tool that performs it's function very well. Glocks may not be as pretty as a nice revolver or as comfortable in the hand as a Sig but there is just no denying the fact that when it comes down to utility and durability they just can't be beat... and that's coming from a guy with "wheelgun" in his name :) Keep the great videos coming. Beautiful scenery by the way!

    Well, no, I don't 'hate' a Glock, how can anyone 'hate' an inanimate object? But I will do exactly what you've suggested here 'mixup 98' and when I go to my favorite range again I'm going to rent one and see what this is "Glock hype' all about.
    You've inspired me to try one and see, so I will do just that!
    Thanks again!
    Oh, bu the way, maybe a link to Patreon, in your description section, would be what we need ?

    Great shooting Sir! You are exactly right, a lot of folks just hate Glocks just for the sake of hating them....I know I was once one of them. Then I tried one and realized I could shoot it better than any other gun I have. It's just a natural pointer for me. Very easy to shoot, so I got a Gen 3 Glock 19 a few years back and love it. I love other guns too but carry the Glock every day. It has never once jammed or had any malfunction. It just shoots and shoots well. Love your videos, your a great shooter and videographer. Keep up the awesome work!!!

    Thanks for the video! My experience with Glock started with a friend's G17. I could not shoot it very well compared to my p226 or 92fs. So I kinda gave up on Glocks. Last year I was looking for a .380 and tried a G42. The G42 is an excellent gun. Now I have Glocks in other calibers. I suggest that the Glock haters give some other models a try!

    One of my all time favorite pistols, especially the 17, 20, and 21. The only thing I don't like is the grip angle

    Another great video, thanks. I have shot a Glock before and they are well built, smooth, reliable pistols. I have almost bought one and considered it many times but still can’t get over the looks. Left side of my brain is convinced. Well, here we go again, after seeing this video, I am thinking about it…

  • @Satchmoeddie

    I like Glocks just fine, but I need rotator cuff surgery. The Glock grip angle is painful for me to shoot. I bought my first Glock in the mid-late 1980s (1986-1987), and broke the frame falling on some icy pavement. Strike ONE! Glock sent me a new gun. I slid down an embankment, and broke the slide tab off that frame, Strike TWO! Glock sent me a 3rd frame. I was tracking someone fell from a horse, broke the tab the slide rides on and the gun flew apart in my face. Strike THREE! Glock redesigned their gun. I got a new redesigned Glock, and it failed to eject, all the time, so back it went. Strike FOUR! Glock mails me a 5th Glock 17, and it worked, fairly well. Glock finally got it right, but I sold it. The gun that will go with me everywhere, is a Glock 43. It's a backup gun, and the grip angle is typical Glock. My body just hates them, but I hope we can fix that, with surgery. I love the Carcal F though. It is basically a Glock 17 made in the United Arab Emirates. I think it holds 18+1, and the grip angle does not induce pain. Yeah, it's made by Arabs, but who knows, maybe the guy that made my Colt Python was a child molester. I DON'T CARE! I went to the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact, Carcal F, Daewoo K5, or Sig Sauer P226, 228, 229. I have been using the P228R for 10 years now, and just went to the PX4, and then found a gorgeous Daewoo K5, and am absolutely elated with the Daewoo K5. What a trick little big gun, that is like a blend of the best of the Browning 1911, Browning's Hi Power P35, the CZ75, and the S&W 59, with a unique trick triple action trigger. I cannot wait to get that shoulder fixed, so I can go back to the Glock 19. In the mean time, I am having fun with new stuff, and old stuff.

    I've never understood hating something you don't have experience with. I have Glocks and I love them. They've never let me down. I have never fired a 1911 so I don't do the whole Glock v 1911 argument. Hell, I would give Hi-Point a fare shake.

    I can't say I hate the Glock pistol because I have never shot one. However am am very jealous that you have such a nice backyard (vast and void of inner city regulations) to just go out and shoot. I have to go to the range and then it's all indoors. Or I drive 80 miles to outdoor range. Shooting with sun, wind, natural elements and distance far exceeds the indoor experience. Nice video.
