Roger that ! I used to carry the 38 special silvertips in my S&W 642 back in the early 2000's. And carried 175gr silvertips in my 10mm Glock model 20 in the late 90's. Oh, and In my Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special back in the mid 90's. I always felt very well armed with those guns, and the Silvertips.
My 21A is reliable with Stingers, Velocitors and CCI Minimags. There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to using .22 LR handguns for defense: expansion or penetration. The only rounds I have been able to get to expand out of the 21A have been the Stingers and Yellow Jackets. But the Yellow Jackets jam sometimes. The Velocitors and Minimags do not expand, except from rifles. So use the defensive ammo which suits your style (expansion or penetration), as long as it is reliable.
I like using Federal Lightning rounds but they changed the name to Auto-Match those bullets are as good as CCI mini-mags out of my model 60. I used to have a 22lr derringer that was a 6 shot pocket model I sold it though
Those silver tips damn near just like regular ammo but then again the hollow point on the 22 is like the size of a pinhead usually LOL I'd like to try these out of my Marlin Model 60
I love that Ruger. I've had one for years, it is my favorite target pistol. I also like that it resembles one of my all time favorite pistols, the P08 Luger. I also like the Bobcat. Always been a fan of the pocket pistols. Very easy to carry. But I prefer .380. I don't care for the Taurus. The first problem is the squared off trigger guard. I don't know why so many pistols use that design. Makes it very hard to put back in a holster. That point at the front snags every time. I like nice rounded trigger guards. And while it's hard to tell on the Taurus, the fact that there is a rivet in the trigger, I'm assuming it's one of those "safety triggers" that I've never liked. At least it doesn't have that little plastic piece sticking out the front of the trigger. I have been using Remington Golden Bullets forever. I still have several thousand of them. I use them for plinking, in both pistols, revolvers, and rifles. I find a bad one once in a while, but for what they USED to cost, it never bothered me. Never used .22LR for self defense purposes. I have also never used CCI. For what those cost you USED to be able to get bulk 9mm.
The SilverTip ammo seems to be pretty good stuff, even though one round was a dud. In my experience an occasional dud in .22 RF ammo is to be expected, regardless of the brand.
A few years back I was working in Texas and while I was there, I shipped back to my home in Commiefornia (because you cant find anything but spitwads here) 4,500 rounds of "Aguila" .22lr in a variety of bullet weights and configurations, out of that 4,500 rnds I polished off 2,200 rnds with "Not one single missfire" thus far. I put that Mexican manufactured ammo at or above CCI, Remington, Winchester or any other ammunition available here. What ive noticed with alot of .22's especially with the Remington brand, is you can physically rotate the projectile of a live round with your fingers, I call bullshit on that, poor quality control, Remington should be ashamed of themselves fir producing garbage like that, "My Opinion", Aguilla is absolutely fantastic stuff, Aguila also produces .22 CB caps (abundant supply) which the cartrige is powered only by the primer compound, fun stuff in the backyard.

Good morning Walat's Way. I really appreciate the great feedback regarding my channel. My son and I love making our videos and we thank you and all of our viewers for watching them.
I have a Beretta 21 bobcat and 22 long rifle I purchased just a few years ago blued with wooden grips and mint condition most likely made in the 1990s... I found that Remington yellow jackets and vipers conical bullets work best never one stoppage or jam with the yellow jackets and vipers
My auntie carries a .22lr as that’s all she’s comfortable with so I sent her a few boxes of this stuff with the hopes it’ll do more tissue damage than standard hollow points in her pistol. Thanks for the detailed review.
The Winchester is designed for use in pistols, so that's why the advertised velocity is much slower than the Stingers. If you fired them out of a rifle the velocity would be much higher.
Watch Buffalo they ALL are BUT LR. He usedabot 12 different bullets with a 3 inch pistol all spotty then all with a 16 inch rifle not 1 James and all were tack driver. Hence LR....... @@switcheyephotography5722

Thank you for the time and effort you put into making them; much appreciated! By the way, I'm still laughing about the 'French' lesson! ☺
I will keep my little 32 as a backup. I have a Mark 2 that I bought 30 years ago I'd hate to think how many rounds that things had put through it. I like your videos it's always informative and straight to the point.
I have shot Winchester .22 for years but now have walked away from them. The last box I bought had numerous duds and some were bulged to the point of being unable to feed. Empties would get stuck in the gun after firing. I also had some that were just brass with no bullets in them. I've started shooting the Norma Tac 22's and have been blown away by them. By far the best .22 ammo that I've shot.
When I was away at school, I had two .22s with me for defense, a J.C. Higgins 9 shot revolver and a Remington nylon 66 rifle. Never felt under gunned. 14 rounds out of the rifle would ruin a bad guy's day. Ammo was CCI's mini mags 36 gr hollow points.
@@flawidajack2335 I lived off campus in Georgetown where the average home at that time was probably 2+ million dollars. Georgetown University was not a tough school, as far as physical safety was concerned.
Another great video. I agree, the hollow points being full of wax (especially at low velocity) might create inconsistent expansion/ bullet break up. We didn't see it here in the water test, but inconsistency in the HP may lead to inconsistency in performance. The lower velocity (Quiet) CCI 22LR can also be inconsistent in short barrels but I found they can be greatly improved by removing the wax from the HP and just slightly opening the HP. There are SOOOO many of the Beretta 21 series guns out there that you would think Crimson Trace or Armalaser would make a set of laser grips for this series. It would greatly help us to shoot them especially in low light environments.
Excellent video, just picked up a box for my Keltec P17. This and Federal Punch have made 22lr pistols an option for personal defense. Now we just need Hornady to make some Critical Defense in 22lr.
I'm 49.5 years old and have shot only small calibers. The biggest was a 300 Win Mag. I know a lot about 22 LR. NEVER BUY Remington 22 LR ammo. Its only good for a bolt action. It will fail in every semi auto gun. If something fails in a Ruger 10-22 you know its bad. CCI and Federal are the only ammo I can trust!!! I hope this comment helps someone. If you want to know my creds? I have 2 Beretta Neos 22"s Both with red dots and are deadly accurate. Then 3 Ruger 10-22's and a very old marlin that experts say was never made yet I own one. By the way don't do what I heard someone else do. They allegedly shot a 40 pound dog in the ASS with a 40 GR CCI and it died less than a 100 yards away. Don't shoot just to shoot! Yeah protect your property but kill for fun!
Winchester has always had primer strike issues in .22 Rimfire. And inconsistent powder charges. The rounds always sound different going off . Pow, Pop, BANG, POP, BANG, pop, pop., click... Never had any issues with Olin's center fire ammo though. It was strange you hitting the rim a second time and it not going off though ? Truly was a dud. My bro. used to have a Rifle that hit the rim at 12 and 6 oclock with every shot. Dual strikes from the firing pin almost negated misfires in that gun. That was in the late 70s and I can not remember what model it was. It was a good snake killer though when fishing ! Semi auto and the tube was in the butt stock.
My grandfather only ever carried either a 22 or 25 auto. My step dad always carried a 22 revolver when we traveled when I was a kind from va to fl. I’m 49 now and the .22 is still all I want to carry. I have plenty of big guns from 9mm to 45 auto, have had a .357 even 44 mag. I have a 45-70 single shot Henry, I’m 6’4 and it’ll almost put me on the ground. Although my sears bolt action 12 gauge is hands down the hardest shooting gun I’ve ever shot. But in the end the only guns I truly love and would not give up are my .22lr and and 22 magnum. The beretta has made it to my bucket list because yeah I’ve made it to man purse age and I would happily carry that awesome little firearm. (The Walther wmp is also on the list). Anyway sorry for the long story. I’m just a believer in the 22 and it’s just the most fun. I love my old 12 gauge but it’s not fun like my marlin model 60 is
Great vid! Owning a Bobcat made me take a look here and I think you are right--it would eat the Silvertip without issue. I have so much MiniMag (which feeds best in my Bob) in storage that I don't see me getting this excellent round, but if it comes up at a great price, I just might invest! Bobcat makes a great BUG!
Hello Mark. I just tried some Federal Punch ammo in my Bobcat and guess what? It doesn't work very well but I will have a video posted on the results tomorrow.
Haven't seen the Silvertip 22lr yet , but the armscore 22lr are waxy. I know those older ruger are not the easy to break down and put back together. Those taurus tx22 seem to fire most ammo , my friend has one that he's been teaching his kids along with his dad's ruger. Cool video on that ammo
Several years ago I did a review on Armscor .22 ammo and it was very waxy. Someone suggested that it has excessive wax because it is made in the Philippines, which sounds logical.
I understand that .22 ammunition is not always 'perfect', in that it should fire every time, but I must admit when I saw you were about to review this Winchester ammo. that I said to myself, "now let's see how may failures or duds, he get's with this lot." I only wish that they ( Winchester / Olin Corp.) didn't have that reputation for "crappy primers". ( that's my finding all too often. ) The projectile performed as promised, at least that's a good showing. Thanks for this.
Great video sir! I just picked up the Bobcat based on one of your previous videos and I love taking it to the range. My TX-22 was my favorite until now (Maybe my rough rider). I've never used this ammo however, I'd pick up a box to test it out if I see it. Great work as always keep it up!
True, Terrance. Have you ever tested it in a pocket gun? If so, how did it do? I know for a fact that the MiniMag HPs don't expand in a Bobcat, but they feed just fine. I've always understood that the Segmented HPs by CCI work best out of a 16" barrel. Thoughts?
I used cci segmented in a 6 inch h and k 9 shot revolver shooting a 5 eights piece of plywood with a piece of cardboard 3 ft behind that which had 5 holes in it . At about 25 feet distance.
How satisfying to actually hear a good review on some ammunition! Especially 22 lr. I rarely ever see Winchester where I live, mostly aguila and CCI. But now when I do see these Winchester silver tips, I'll be sure to get some. And it was satisfying to hear you say such nice things about the tx22. It's one of my favorite guns. And in fact I'm wearing it right now in my backyard while my little dog is getting some exercise. It's the only gun I can shoot one handed without intense pain, and the rapid fire ability means I could get a lot of shots off at a copperhead, our most common poisonous snake here.
I think it is pretty cool that you are wearing your TX22 as you type your comment. It really is a great pistol and that is why Guns & Ammo named it the 2019 Handgun of the Year. I have had mine now for almost two years and I think it's just about time to do another video on it. Perhaps a "2-year update" video on my TX22 is right around the corner.
@@mixup98 , yeah, I was using voice recognition on my phone. That's why there will sometimes be a "what the heck?" word or phrase in there. A catch-up on the TX22 would be great. Because I've used mine in teaching for two years (students would shoot around 500 rounds!) as well as shooting a hundred or so rounds through it myself every week, I calculate 11,600 rounds total. Two failures to feed in all that time; one because I crimped the case slightly when I dropped it and then stepped on it, and the second time when I found a box of really crusty lead-nose Aguila in the back of the drawer. It ate 15 rounds and choked on the last one. I declined to put any more of that box through the barrel.
I actually use a 10/22 for home defense because I live in a low crime area. I keep it loaded with 30 rounds of cci stingers. I really don't want to let 10 rounds of 5.56 off in my house as my hearing would be permanently ruined. I've done extensive testing and everytime I pull the trigger my 10/22 goes bang. Volquartzen extractor helps alot with that
You are very well protected by 30 rounds of Stinger ammo coming out of a Ruger 10/22 carbine. I have never used a Volquartzen extractor but now I'm thinking I just might pick one up.
Electronic hearing protectors staged with a 5.56 rifle or shotgun or handgun are just as quick to deploy as picking up the firearm. They give you super good hearing too.
Love my old Ruger 22. Been plinking since late 70s and going strong. Beretta is total badass backup. Hate to be trauma Drs trying to track down all those little pieces. Regular.22LR is bad enough. I’ve used Winchester segmented slugs and they are flat out devastating. Have maybe 50 in reserve as I haven’t seen them around last couple of years. Will give these .22 a run and see. Sure look promising.
Seems for defensive purposes, so far on the market three stand out: CCI Stinger Winchester Silvertip Federal Punch They actually rate a couple of these for short barrels.
As a long time amateur .22 shooter, I’ve found that consistency is something that seems to vary between individual handguns. I have a S&W Model 34 that did not like Aguila primers, but worked fine with everything else. Aguilas functioned fine in every other .22 I’ve run them thru. I have two Bobcats I bought new in the mid 80s, shot a lot of rounds thru them, and ended up having them both tuned up/overhauled last summer. I haven’t really shot them much after the came back, but have had the chance to test them with CCI Mini Mags, the Silvertips, and Federal Punch. I haven’t run them with Stingers, at least recently - I might have years ago and found they didn’t work very well in my Bobcats. Back the, I settled on my favorite carry round being the Remington 40 grain Golden Bullet solid. It was always reliable and functioned as close to perfectly as 1980s .22 ammo and Beretta Bobcats could do together. I always had good performance with Vipers and Yellow Jackets too, but seemed to think they put unintended wear and tear on the little guns. Anyway, more recently I have found that neither Bobcat like themCCI Mini Mag primers or extract reliably with the Federal Punch, but seemed to work with the STs. That’s what they’re loaded with now. I need to get back and reacquaint myself with them more thoroughly because after sitting in the safe for years, they have reintroduced me to “slide bite,” and the sights truly suck worse than they did when I was 22 and bought my first one. Orange nail polish seems to help “somewhat….” I don’t subscribe to point shooting as a way of life when accuracy really needs to count. Anyway, great video. I’ve seen others posted that suggest while not yet proven nor a ball of fire, the STs seem to perform as advertised.
without exception every brand of .22 ammo or any rim-fire ammo will have "duds", not many, and some less than others, but all will have dead rounds. its just the nature of the beast for that type of primer.
It's hard to beat a TX 22. I've shot mine with tons of ammo. Only one will not group one on top of another is Federal auto match. CCI standard and aguila standard are my favorite through it. They cycle, go bang, and hit exactly what you're aiming at. The aguila standard are dirty, but still hit same POI as CCI standard. And it's so easy to clean the TX 22, that's not a problem either. I find myself shooting it more than any gun I have. I shoot 1 1/2 - 2 in spinners from 33 feet and I can fire at a nice even rate across the 8 that . I have in 3 different steel sets for my .22's. Nice video. Your friend from KY. Later
I also shoot and carry my TX22 more than any other pistol, at least when I'm out exploring or hunting small game. I have never been to Kentucky but I would sure love to visit your beautiful state someday.
@@mixup98 I want to visit your beautiful state. With a chance to shoot distances. I've not hunted with my tx 22, but I would. But, most of your game, is on the ground there right? Around here? Up in the trees. Up STEEP foothills of the Appalachian mountains. So, it would be tougher shooting high up in trees with the TX. The hold under would be just an educated guess. But it would be fun. Holler back if you want.
@@patrickrobinson2520 I usually hunt cottontail rabbits or small varmints and yes, everything is on the ground. Unfortunately we don't have any squirrel hunting here in Nevada. Hopefully you will get the chance to visit someday and experience the beauty of Nevada.
@@mixup98 Well, I sure hope I could get out your way. That would be awesome. And you could come here anytime and visit and I ain't kidding. We got an extra bedroom no one uses but guests. Or, if you think I'm an axe murderer on the internet, there's plenty of hotels 10 miles from my house. 😄 Maybe I'll be able to keep up with you in the woods as far as your accuracy. It's different shooting things running through the treetops and hiding in the backside of the tree on you. It's tricky at times. Plus the hold under aiming straight up at a 60+ degree angle. Even with my scope on the 10/22, it's the difference of one sometimes 2 mildots hold under to be center. It's weird and I know some people reading this think I'm talking out my ass. But squirrel season runs all the way till the first of November for about a month for whitetail deer season, but comes right back in. The fall is the best time to hunt squirrel, too hot right now. Ole triple ought 22 buckshot I like the 3-1/2 version myself nice shells have you ever shot the slugs. They have velocities of a Brazilian fps. And are made of titanic titanium that's bullet proof . Even our president the mushroom uses 22 triple ought slug shot he shoots it outta his arsh . At a blistering 999.999 Brazilian seconds per light year it actually goes so fast you can't see or hear it so you gotta have a hearing aid and teleprompter like our mushroom has . So awesome I love our mushroom president.
I've been thinking about a S&W 43c or LCR 22lr revolver in 22lr lately. This and the ruger lcp2 22 were on my list. Revolver just passing the dud and having 7rds isn't a bad thing.
As a 22 self defense round, frangible ammo is the best to use. Those parts breaking off are going to create a wound channel. The bullet fragments won't overpenetrate, another benefit. Being a standard velocity round, this is a winning design for Winchester!
Another good review! I'll wait until you get to review the Federal Punch self defense .22 LR. I believe this Winchester is their attempt to address what Federal came out with. The Federal depends on deep penetration more than fragmentation. Only thing is, it doesn't function in my wife's 21A, while Stingers and Minimags run flawlessly in it. I keep forgetting that maybe I should polish the chamber on the 21A and that might help.
Compared to 20 years ago, their quality control has gone to pot. I don't buy their ammo any more whether it be rimfire or centre fire. I found Fiochoci and CCI 22lr more reliable able to retain accuracy.
@@willywonka6252 That does not surprise me. I find their centerfire brass to be of low quality in most calibres and when I took apart some 6.5 Swede factory(Blue Box) ammo, the powder weights were very inconsistent.
@@aaronmcgoldrick2439 I’ve been shooting the hell out of Remington thunder bolt it’s flawless. Wife and I shot at least 8000 rounds between the 2 of us through her M&P 22 compact and M&P 15-22 and we maybe had 4 miss fires
I honestly think Winchester Wildcat power point hp. In the 100 rd plastic container( 1300 fps ammo) not the lighter power bulk stuff ( which I've never shot. Out of my TX 22, it shoots the tightest group of ANY ammo but it's a little expensive. I use CCI standard velocity and aguila standard velocity for plinking( easier on the aluminum slide) . But I actually carried it tonight for the first time because I put a set of traction grips ( highly recommend for perfect fit) on my Taurus G2C. You need to let the rubber skin sit overnight to let it cure. So the wildcats are my pick. I have a chronograph and all too. I've thought of making videos but I'm just a regular guy. No fancy cameras.
Hello Patrick. Thanks for the advice on the traction grips for the TX22. I'm also just a regular guy that likes firearms. Maybe someday you will decide to post a video here on youtube.
CCi Velocitors are badass too! - If I lived closer I'd drop by with my 1936 6.625" bbl Colt Woodsman - that would've been fun to use to run the Silvertips through the Chrono. And the Stinger round that didn't mushroom out was no doubt the 2nd and probably hit where the first bullet went through and left a hole in the water. 😊
Hello Leeman. I would love to shoot a 1936 Colt Woodsman .22 pistol. I used to drool over the Woodsman when I was younger (I still do). Today I own a very nice Hi-Standard HD Military .22 pistol that was made in 1948 but I only shoot standard velocity ammo through it. If I run across a few boxes of CCI Velocitor ammo I will do a review and see how it performs in some of my other pistols.
@@mixup98 How about a little anecdote to moisten your arid desert day: - I thought I'd test out the then-new Velocitor - as I had been to the range (for the first time in decades) with the only .22LR ammo I had, CCi standard velocity 40gr LRN, and shot a gallon milk jug filled with water using an old 27" bbl rifle, The jug only split a little and leaked out. So I placed my 4' diameter blue plastic dog pool in the middle of the vinyl floored Rec Room and set a gal milk jug full of water in the center of the empty plastic pool to test the Velocitor for any significant difference. I live in the mountains with neighbors not too close - still I didn't want them to be alarmed by shooting outside so I though this a responsible and well-thought-through plan, since it was rainy season and I wouldn't be able to go the 50mi to the range for several months. I took one shot from 7'- 8' away and I was soaked! - There was water on the walls, water on the cupboards, water on the ceiling - but almost *_NO_* water IN the pool. 😣 😆 They work.
Good morning my friend 👏🏻🤠⛰⛰🇺🇸🇺🇸well I'm very impressed with the Beretta.....seems like good ammunition my friend on the job says good stuff....thanks again for all your great videos and help have a great week ahead.....🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
That's deceiving. The 1060 FPS is tested out of a 3 & 1/2" test barrel. Almost every other listed velocity is out of a 24"+ test barrel. So if you compared this ammo to say CCI Mini Mags, this Silvertip ammo would be faster.
I found a box of this at Walmart, haven’t used any of it yet but wonder how it compares to the new Federal Punch for 22lr defensive use. Always enjoy your videos!

I just bought a few boxes of these from Walmart. I thought the bullets were loose, even though the crimp looked good and consistent. Winchester seems to have a lot of complaints in last couple years with .22LR. I checked some old stock Winchester ammo in a few varieties and it was not loose.
Yeah, I got some Winchester Super-X ammo, I was disappointed that it had a lot of misfires, even though the strikes were good. No problem with the Federal AutoMatch or Remington Golden Bullets tho.

The SilverTip ammo seems to be pretty good stuff, even though one round was a dud. In my experience an occasional dud in .22 RF ammo is to be expected, regardless of the brand.
If your going to carry it, it has to perform 100%. A fail to feed or eject could be the shooter, but not a fail to fire.

TX-22 will eat anything and everything i've fed through mine. Amazing pistol!!
That little Beretta 21A Bob Cat is beautiful little pistol that packs a Good Punch...great Consealed carry
Pistol.....
My auntie carries a .22lr as that’s all she’s comfortable with so I sent her a few boxes of this stuff with the hopes it’ll do more tissue damage than standard hollow points in her pistol. Thanks for the detailed review.
Thanks for watching the video, it's great to hear how you're helping your auntie stay safe.
Federal punch 22lr is a good self defense and stingers also
The Winchester is designed for use in pistols, so that's why the advertised velocity is much slower than the Stingers.

I have a 'bone to pick' with you about your videos.... They are so good, I end up watching them numerous times, and my wife tells me I'm spending too much time online, and not getting my chores done!.... Your gun/ammo/ shooting videos are the best. Thank you for the time and effort you put into making them; much appreciated! By the way, I'm still laughing about the 'French' lesson! ☺
Hello Andrew. I hope your wife isn't to mad at me. You can always tell her that you are online learning how to speak French! 😁
I will keep my little 32 as a backup. I have a Mark 2 that I bought 30 years ago I'd hate to think how many rounds that things had put through it. I like your videos it's always informative and straight to the point.
Your very fluent on your French. I understood every word!
Must have been a tough school?
@@flawidajack2335 I lived off campus in Georgetown where the average home at that time was probably 2+ million dollars. Georgetown University was not a tough school, as far as physical safety was concerned.
Love your Ballistic Bucket, filled with Ballistic Water. Practical testing for the rest of us without Ballistic Gel. !!
👍😎
I've got a S&W M&P 22 Compact and it cycled this ammo great.. but that little pistol cycles all ammo great .
Cool new intro ..Digging it Guys!!
Thanks for sharing your videos and keep them coming please.
Will do!
That's why I have quality rimfire revolvers too.
Could have been a mossberg 151, or winchester 63.
The sivertip and the punch is the only things I carry in my 22 they are great rounds
What do you think about the Punch build quality. I passed on that ammo as bullets just didn’t impress me visually. Maybe they’re fine.
I love my old 12 gauge but it’s not fun like my marlin model 60 is
I give you a thumbs up before I even watch the video! By far my favorite gun channel on TH-cam. Thank you guy's.
Nice! We love comments like yours, DEA McN. Thank you very much.
@@mixup98 yes sir, big thanks to you guys as well!
Same. He's one of the few TH-camrs that has earned that thumbs up every time.
I’ve been relying on SilverTips since the early 70s. Police used it almost exclusively in revolvers since the 50s.
I carried silvertips as a police officer in the 80’s in .38 spl.
I think I will give that silvertip a try. I currently have Federal Punch in my Ruger SR22. Another great video.
One of if not my oldest sub- I'd watch anything done on this channel.
Thank you Tom....much appreciated.
( that's my finding all too often. )
The projectile performed as promised, at least that's a good showing.
Thanks for this.
Yeah for 22 cci stingers seem to be the go to for reliability.
Great video sir! I just picked up the Bobcat based on one of your previous videos and I love taking it to the range. My TX-22 was my favorite until now (Maybe my rough rider). I've never used this ammo however, I'd pick up a box to test it out if I see it. Great work as always keep it up!
Love the look of the Bobcat. It’s on my list. 👍🏼
Hello John and congratulations on your new Beretta Bobcat pistol. Sounds like we have the same great taste in firearms 👍
i have the black bobcat and I bought a set of rubber grips for it and now I love it
Those little beretta’s are too cool!
Cci makes a segmented round in 22 lr. Splits into 3 pcs. Good ballistics.
@@mixup98 volquartsen extractor is honestly a game-changer. It has a razor-sharp CNC Edge instead of punched sheet metal
👍🤠
I was hoping you would’ve had some outtakes those are always funny
Adore my TX 22...bought the FN 502...after my recall... Jury is still out on that... I trust my CCIs' the most. S..V..Min mags
Seems for defensive purposes, so far on the market three stand out:
CCI Stinger
Winchester Silvertip
Federal Punch
They actually rate a couple of these for short barrels.
I have learned not to trust any rimfire for defensive purposes. They just don’t always go off!
For backup purposes, better than a stick. My ive had maybe 2 no fires outta 1000s of rounds.
As always enjoyable, informative videos. Thank you sir.
I have a TX 22 as well. Fun reliable, mine will shoot everything including subsonic.
Great video and excellent shooting. I have started using Silvertips in my TX 22. I think they would get someone's attention to leave you alone.
Always enjoy these videos. Fun & instructive. Great work.

Lol
I really like Winchester silver tip! Good video!

I really like the little beretta.
Looks to have worked above average
I'd take that little Beretta Bob Cat 22 LR over any of the other pistols, it's beautiful and packs a Punch.....
I've been thinking about a S&W 43c or LCR 22lr revolver in 22lr lately. This and the ruger lcp2 22 were on my list. Revolver just passing the dud and having 7rds isn't a bad thing.
Like to see how it performs from a NAA mini revolver with a 1-1/8" barrel...
CCI used to make a segmented hollow point. Very lethal on varmints.
As a 22 self defense round, frangible ammo is the best to use. Those parts breaking off are going to create a wound channel. The bullet fragments won't overpenetrate, another benefit. Being a standard velocity round, this is a winning design for Winchester!
Wow..I gave thumbs up just for your intro..amazing, and then the Star Trek beginning 👍
Thank you kindly....much appreciated.
Good demo & great shooting, thanks.
The stinger velocity is from a rifle barrel. Huge difference.
Nice and comprehensible review Sir. You have gained another subscriber!
I’d like to see that silver tip vs federal punch 22lr. Great vid!
Always enjoy your videos.
I appreciate that!
I have a lcp 2 and I get misfires with Winchester ammo. I like the expansion of the 42 max but it's not reliable in my pistol.
That Berreta rocks. Nice results from those Silvertips. 😎👍🙏

No ammo company can pack more dud 22 rounds in a box than Winchester.
Compared to 20 years ago, their quality control has gone to pot. I don't buy their ammo any more whether it be rimfire or centre fire. I found Fiochoci and CCI 22lr more reliable able to retain accuracy.
I about fell out of my chair 😂
I had 2 of the federal blue boxes 800 round 22lr more than half of each box was a dud
Oh yeah, I'd love to see those Silvertips on the Chrono through a rifle bbl.
@@mixup98 How about a little anecdote to moisten your arid desert day:
- I thought I'd test out the then-new Velocitor - as I had been to the range (for the first time in decades) with the only .22LR ammo I had, CCi standard velocity 40gr LRN, and shot a gallon milk jug filled with water using an old 27" bbl rifle,
The jug only split a little and leaked out.
They work.
Good morning to you too! 👍🤠
Decent velocity from a handgun and a pretty heavy bullet.
Solid contender against the Federal Punch
Excellent vid.
Thanks for the review !
Thank you Jose !!!!
I was impressed that the 1060 fps Silver Tips cycled in your Bobcat.
That's deceiving.
The 1060 FPS is tested out of a 3 & 1/2" test barrel.
Almost every other listed velocity is out of a 24"+ test barrel.
So if you compared this ammo to say CCI Mini Mags, this Silvertip ammo would be faster.
I really enjoy your videos as I said before.
Maybe a little more expensive because of the silver, but you'll be glad to have them next time you encounter a werewolf.
I found a box of this at Walmart, haven’t used any of it yet but wonder how it compares to the new Federal Punch for 22lr defensive use. Always enjoy your videos!
I hope to review Punch ammo in the near future.
Use the punch. More reliable
I been sitting on some 38spl. Silver tip bullets, still waiting on that WEREWOLF encounter, haven't seen one yet, but if they come knockin I'll be ready!!! I'll take those STANGERS every time!
Thanks for another cool video ... Keep em coming please & God bless
More to come!
SILVER TIP SEEMS A PRETTY GOOD MATCH FOR A RUGER LCR
