Click bait title 10/10 😂 these videos are proper quality, good production, funny and interesting lesser known cycling. Looking forward to hearing more on the pursuit of the hardest climbs in South Wales!
Haha it was just too tempting - but still disgusted with myself 😂 thank you! Still find talking horribly difficult…the cycling part is comparatively easy 😭 but I’ll try to maintain the motivation with it all!
There's two climbs out of the Wye Valley I'd put in the same bracket. Out of Llandogo from the A466 head up the hill and then right to the priory. This is absolutely evil, around 150m of climbing in less than 1km, pitches of 25-30% and almost unrideable surface. The other is heading in the same direction but from Tintern, follow the forge road but take a left at every junction. Long section of 20% gives way to a shallower gradient before going up again to 18-19 through the woods after the farm. Did this with bags on advice from a man with ridiculous calfs.
I think I know the Llandogo climb you mean (although haven't ridden it, opted for the easier way up!) -- not sure I want to either, moss + gravel is definitely far worse than the bumps of Rhyw! Might have to investigate the Tintern one...but only if the roads are very dry 😆
Not yet! But I’d like to give it a go someday…I think…might have to reconsider based on how terrifying it looks! Definitely not one to attempt in slippery conditions 😨
Great video! I'm trying to figure out your gear ratio from the data on screen. What cassette and crankset are you using?

You got some interesting looks from the construction worker!

Not sure if prefer going up or down a hill like this one!
up the voice volume Illi, hard to hear
Looks like a cyclocross would have been more suited to that surface 😂😂
Often wish I had a gravel bike just to ride in British lanes haha!
I was thinking a gravel bike would be better for that surface!!
Have you had the 'pleasure' of Afon Ddu here in NW yet Illi? Its basically the only climb that has ever defeated me....and i like a steep climb :)
