"Sometimes you just have to get on with things" - yup! It has been a grim winter but I don't have an indoor trainer so constant bike cleaning has been the order of the year.
This is incredible. Awesome challenge, made even more awesome by you actually sticking it out and filming it despite the weather. I've also really struggled for motivation this year due to the weather, totally feel that. For what its worth, even on a grim day I've watched this video and still thought about how beautiful the scenery is, Wales does desolate moorland beauty like nowhere else. 12:40 - riding along side that fast flowing stream while swearing and saying you can't be bothered, it was like a mirror in to my soul 😂 Thanks for sharing the challenge, great vid.
Thanks so much Nick!! It would have been almost disappointing if it had turned out to be an unusually nice day after the last few months…almost 😆 hahha very glad it’s not just me, you’d think I hate the sport given how much time I spend doing that! Thanks again :)
Illi, my god girl you are hewn from granite. I am part of Ed's mob and fortunate to have seen you on the Horseshoe and Struggle this year. Somewhat older in years, I am just gobsmacked at your completely neutral commentary on what you do. So many people in this space try to make more of what they do, you simply get on with it... and deliver..just love your content. I have ridden loads in Wales and descending is always "interesting" . UK miles definitely hit the legs more than the continent imho. How do you fuel for this type of ride? ... that was a bad weather day and most would have bailed I think!
Thank you so much, really kind of you to say! Definitely agree there, the roads feel much more draining and you can never properly relax on the descents…but at least they’re nice and grippy in the wet 😄Nutrition-wise I relied on bars (OTE and Trek ones, tasty and easy to digest but not the cheapest!) and just constantly ate small amounts along with Lucozade Sport -- plus some crisps and a gel near the end. The one benefit of the conditions is that I didn't sweat a huge amount! Thanks again, really appreciate it 🙂
I rode south north with a bananas amount of elevation at the beginning of this month and it pissed it down Every.Single.Day. Wales is absolutely incredible and I would love to go back if the weather ever improves. Also, devil's staircase can go and fuck itself.
Just some constructive feedback because I think your channel is probably going to explode in the next few months: - try enunciate more, and speak a little more slowly - mix your voice higher and music/camera audio a bit lower. - a couple of bits are edited a little choppily. Otherwise I think there's a good chance your channel is on the up, huge potential there.
The content creator we didn't know we needed 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Was looking at strava stats and stumbled along into the channel. Legend!🎉

Thank you for doing the suffering on my behalf for the month of April - it is much appreciated and my legs thank you.
Nice video! Yep, spring this year is absolutely grim
Wow, terrific.
Virtual Zwift ?
Ventoux, Huez, Stelvio., all back to back.

hahaha 'slightly nicer day.' There are never nicer days !!
I like your content, you are a beast of a cyclist and endearingly odd.
Lovely dry roads and sunshine in Ceredigion today 🌞
The completion of this ride brought some dry days at last 😆 but it’s all the more appreciated!
My favorite so far, just fantastic !!!
Almost makes me want to get off the turbo trainer
Come to Australia.

Thank you! All taken on board - really trying to become less of a mumbler! Cheers
Totally agree. With some minor tweaks this channel has the potential to be amazing! Your dry humor is spot-on!
