there was a husband and wife that worked were i do for a little bit last year they both drove smart cars and would park them both in the same spot, they each had a key to the others car so who ever got off and didnt have to work 12s could drive the one in the front home
The thing to understand about kei cars is the passenger compartment is the same size as most sports cars, it’s the trunk, engine, and door flourishes that are all squished down. Think “supercar escape pod” and you have the right idea.
Man I’m at an incredibly low point in my life, you have no idea how much joy your guys videos give me. When I saw you guys posted a road trip video you just made my week, thank you
Only up, from the bottom. Set small daily goals, follow up with weekly, monthly, then yearly. It’s not easy, but find something that makes it worth it. Mine = cars + family + all things creative.
When I bought my 91 Beat, I took a long bus ride down to the city my importer was in and immediately took a road trip home in it. Couldn't have been a better experience for me. Super hyped for this series!
I'm 25 and still haven't got my licence, these guys road trip videos have motivated me to actually make a move on and get it. Would love to do stuff like this with a mate.
So the boys from Throttle House are doing a cool road trip series at the moment too, which got me thinking that a crossover road trip series with them would be super epic.
Y’all are such incredible content creators. Excellent cinematography and writing, even being able to roll with the random goof-ups and still be able to make something enjoyable and funny. Really appreciate y’all’s work. It’s incredibly inspiring
23:29 probably my favorite shot of the video but great camera work and narrative throughout, you guys keep making the best long form vlog style car content on youtube, keep up the great work
Some of the best automotive content on TH-cam. I started Houston SCCA time attack and auto cross right around when I found these guys. Watching Ben drive his FWD civic helped me learn how to corner with my own SI on track. That and a lot of sim racing 😂 anyway keep doing what you love guys we are always gonna be here to enjoy it 👍
6:27 is the exact reason why I brought a single cam type s civic as a daily! I can send it as hard as i like and barely get over the limit where as I even thing about the throttle in my s15 and I am in driving ban territory 😆 It nice to see there little cars get some love!
I'm not shocked to see these cars are having issues. That seems to be how your road trips go. A little drama to close out a video. But it does leave us with a little wonder for next weeks episode. I guess I'll go and watch that episode next. (:
It would just make it an unstable burnout machine and ruin the car. Enjoy it for what it is, the idea that every car needs power mods is one of the worst things in the car world. Learn to corner and understand how little power even matters.
Seeing the ZX10R really brings to light that y'all should really try bikes. It's a huge untouched market for y'all, and also a huge content possibility for y'all. A whole series on trying out and learning bikes would be fantastic.
So at @17:20 There is a roofline of a nissan exa sportbak, AKA: pulsar nx. I own two of these and it makes me happy to see one in a nice clean collection like that place. The owner is deff a fan of old quirky Nissans! And it appears again @19:02, awesome!
Good times... My 1991 civic got about 32 mpg flat, highway and city, when I first got it. A slight intake mod got me about 50-60 mpg highway (70mph), 40ish city. So fun. It's been dead for a long time now though - needs a lot of work.
I had a 89' Honda CRX-Si years ago that had 14 inch wheels and used Yokohama A509 tires. I remember they were about $60 installed. I now own a 1967 Pontiac Catalina which also has 14 inch wheels and the only tires I could find were for trailers. Upgraded to 15 inch wheels.
Finally! Some love for the Cappuccino! I discovered the Cappuccino in Initial-D Stage 2 and fell in love with it since. Definitely a perfect daily driver and slight head turner!
I have a crazy idea for the next road trip. You both build car karts, like stripping a miata of all the doors, body panels, etc. I've also seen c5 corvette karts, it'd be epic!
16:22 I would love to build up a Figaro someday! Manual conversion, ITBs, Watanabes!! It’s a ridiculously pretty little car, and I think turning it into a little retro pass racer would be the coolest thing ever!!
Drove my Capp from Seattle to Spokane when I bought it. factory seats are kind comfy but the preload on the aftermarket coils is set for huge rebound so I nearly hit my head on the roof several times. had to stop for gas 2x because even getting 41 mpg 6 gallons is still 6 gallons. enjoy the drive broskis.
These Roadtrips are the best automotive content on this platform. While there are plenty of great youtubers that I really enjoy watching, the roadtrip series by Gears & Gasoline are the only vids I genuinely look forward to & watch as soon as they release. I need to stop the remote camping though, as I missed the actual release of this beauty. 😢
I would say 150-200 miles is right about where alot of motorcycles are at for fuel range. So not too bad actually! So excited to see another road trip, great work once again.
Thank you so much for posting this! I was planning to take my WRX to the tail of the dragon for the first time this weekend but ended up sick so I had to cancel. I’ve been really bummed, but the timing of the episode is now making it hilarious!
18:09 I’d love to see a comfortable road trip comparison from Gears and Gasoline, call it “Luxury vs Comfort”. A dealer supplied 2023 base BMW 328i X-Drive vs V6 Honda Odyssey. Is “more interior space” preferable to “better interior space”?
Just love these cars.real life hot wheels And I don't understand why they will never brought over to European cities. If we had these in the UK it would be so much better, especially in the car parks😂 as a Honda fan that little beat is hilarious. It sounds like it's vtec all the time
Dude, I was SO not expecting there to be a smart roadster at the importer's collection, they are extremely obscure outside of Europe and genuinely awesome cars even with their few major flaws, a shame that the Bens didn't go over it for a bit longer, since we might've actually seen the MR2 gain a strange German-French alien trackday buddy
Had a S660 for two years, stock turbocharged 3 cylinder engine putting out 136hp after removing the limiter and it still managed to average around 3.6 / 3.9 liters per 100km or roughly 60 miles per gallon.
These cars are an absolute blast and are often overlooked. This is the first road trip video with a car I actually have some personal experience with. When I was living in Japan, a friend took me in his Beat down some of the mountain roads out near ChiChibu. Although the power was anemic with us both in the car, when you're going down a steep hill on roads as tight as those all that matters is the size and handling and the Beat didn't even need to brake on half of the hairpins. Some of the most fun I've had in a vehicle. Anyways, great video!
For the people that don’t know: Japanese locals need to have a special license in order to insure and drive a manual car, hence why nowadays auto sport cars are common over there
I've just recently discovered your guy's channel, and I love it. Something very therapeutic and relaxing watching you two take road trips in unconventional road trip cars. Thanks guys!

Are yall gonna do the Suzuki Hayabusa swap for the cappuccino?
I wish for the nxt. Road trip will be truck, i mean old trucks like hilux etc.
Nice video as always...
Next... Challenge...
Road trip with.. small Kei truck...
Were you guys at Radwood last weekend? Think I saw these two cars there
Great episode!
These guys are my fix man, I honestly can’t get enough of these road trips. You guys deserve an Amazon show
For real
That would ruin it. Most youtube channels that get onto bigger services die in a hole.
TV is trash. They are where they need to be
@@mateusssssss567 true but Amazon isn’t TV either just bigger budget. Think them in the best roads of Europe top gear style
It’d be cool to see a crossover with the grand tour
I like this "stopping wherever we feel like on the way" vibe. It's how a roadtrip should be done!
Driving 10 hours a day to Alaska and back really burned us out, so we wanted to do an "easier" trip this time.
this is such an insane idea!
it's the brown civic guy
@@you_can_fuck_your_own_ass_69 I think that's the yellow submarine that you mean 😂

HOLY SHIT DUDE I HAVENT SEE UR CONTENT SINCE HIGHSCHOOOOOL
The 🐐
yeah i definitely have no idea whats going to happen next..............
The parking scene was hilarious. The two cars can fit in one slot 😂
there was a husband and wife that worked were i do for a little bit last year they both drove smart cars and would park them both in the same spot, they each had a key to the others car so who ever got off and didnt have to work 12s could drive the one in the front home
While I lived in Japan I once saw four cappuccino’s parked in two spots
I actually did this w my AW11 and my buddy’s 89 CRX. It was quite a squeeze and we had to park facing different directions so we could get out lol
8:45 yeah cause he is the same height as Azns lol!
“Your cappuccino has gone decaf” that was rich!
Some may say rich and smooth, and warm!
@@antfarmer2227 and foamy
Blended too
Just like the AFR!
Right off the bat, can't believe Ben fits in the Cappucino.
Edit. I have a feeling next episode will be sponsored by K&N, for no specific reason :)
couldn't believe I fit either. It's tight.
Ben Lin is now Bend Limb

@@GearsandGasolineThank you for your sacrifice Ben. I'm also 6'3 and have been wanting a cappuccino 😂 I'm glad to see it's possible

Hang on there dude

Only up, from the bottom. Set small daily goals, follow up with weekly, monthly, then yearly. It’s not easy, but find something that makes it worth it. Mine = cars + family + all things creative.
we got this brother! keep your head up
The sound the AZ1 door made when it hit tall Bens head was so good😂
That Beat sounds so fantastic. Who cares how fast it is. Because I would be on throttle all the time for that sound.
The photographer at Duncan dealership was cool. Thanks to him for giving some insides of those cars.
INSIGHTS.
sweet of you to shout out the best adventure guy ever! C90Adventures! Ed is a madman!
When I bought my 91 Beat, I took a long bus ride down to the city my importer was in and immediately took a road trip home in it. Couldn't have been a better experience for me. Super hyped for this series!
This has been teased for months now and it hasn't disappointed. Love it! And yes those roads in my Miata are the bomb!!!
Good to know the old Honda tradition is still there, fill the oil, check the gas 😂
Same with Saturns! They wanted to compete with Japanese cars, and they nailed the experience.
I'm 25 and still haven't got my licence, these guys road trip videos have motivated me to actually make a move on and get it. Would love to do stuff like this with a mate.
I got mine at 26, just save up for something you want and go for it.

I love the friendship that you two have The tour of the Duncan facility was awesome 💕
13:55 VEHICROSS AND ITS YELLOW. Love this
"Ben, it looks like your Cappuccino's gone decaf" 🤣 🤣 🤣
Too good. So hyped for next week, love the series and kei cars
Saturday morning, off from work, drinking my tea, watching Gears and Gasoline. Cant beat this!
Duncan collection lowkey feels like a Gran Turismo dealerships. Old cars in brand new pristine condition.

23:29 probably my favorite shot of the video but great camera work and narrative throughout, you guys keep making the best long form vlog style car content on youtube, keep up the great work
Even after you guys have finished with these road trips, I really hope that you keep these cars. They are so sick!
Kei car - 軽い車 - かるい車 - karui kuruma means "light car"
Also cheaper to insure in Japan ;)
It also makes most sense for citizens that want just an A-to-B utility tool.
This video was phenomenal - Great flow, great camerawork, great banter, everything. Excited for the rest of it!
This is one of three paths I know of on the “road to enlightenment”: 1980’s cars, Kei cars, and Motorcycles.
This is already my favorite road trip season. The shorter distance with an emphasis on the cars makes it really entertaining.
It’s incredible how you guys make road trips so entertaining, it’s like a superpower. #gearsandgasolineforlife

Those foam hks style filters are a ticking bomb when they're old. Heard plenty of stories about turbo's sucking them in. Unlucky dudes
The dude doing the Dino pull is questioning why he agreed to this and the bens are just laughing😆
Lmao his face during the pulls had me dying
@@420CaptainSlow - Right? LOL 🤣
Dude wasn't sure if the cars were gonna blow up or the dyno was gonna quit cos of the low power
Nice to see these boys mention C90adventures. that insane brit took a Chinse mini jeep across the state of Utah.
that dyno guys face was funny af when he was doing the beat lmao
I own a Suzuki Cappuccino, and the way Ben describes the car and its driving is absolutely true!
49mph = 80kph
6'3" = 190.5cm

these road trip videos are some of the best videos on youtube rn
No one is as cool as Ed March from C90 Adventures. NO ONE.
I think we all agree: Would love to see Ben putting a K-Series in the Cappuccino or in the Honda Beat
It would just make it an unstable burnout machine and ruin the car. Enjoy it for what it is, the idea that every car needs power mods is one of the worst things in the car world. Learn to corner and understand how little power even matters.
such a waste and way heavier than you need that car to be.
The thunk it made was funny.
You just swap it with a 1000cc bike engine it's pretty common these kei cars
or mayb just a 2 rotor 700cc rotary in it.. with 200hp
18:36 Ed march, c90 adventures 🔥🔥
Oh hey, another Honda for Ben to K-Swap.
That other car wasn't struggling to get up the mountain, they were throttle blipping a hello to you guys after seeing your toys.
My girl loves the beat, she would be all over Ben.
Hands off, ladies, he's taken. 😤
Thank fudge!! Another road trip ❤️❤️
Their cars next to those two trucks was so bizzare 😭
YEEEEEES. Road trip series are back, I was waiting for the whole year
Is is weird to want a kei car built to race series?
That would be great. Would probably be a very cost effective way to race a lot and being so small even makes them easier to haul to the track.
The production quality of these videos is insane. Great work!
