Just fyi, always keep your plates and any registration window stickers and date the title and any other paperwork. Also always take a pic of their DL before the test drive, if they don't like it they can go away. If you leave the plates on they can use the toll roads at your expense not to mention speed and red light camera tickets. Selling your car isn't what it used to be.
The biggest takeaway for me is a point about this massive immigration problem we have in our country. There’s a popular saying, “If you import the third world, you become the third world”. Many people out there falsely contend that it’s strictly good people coming in to make a better life, ignoring that there are large populations just coming in to take advantage, not assimilate, and bring their problems here with them. I’m really sorry this happened to you man, pursue them as far as you can. They won’t be stopped if everyone they victimize just lets it go.

I told them they are the reason this country is going to hell cause they won’t do a damn thing about it. They proceeded to tell me that they have nothing to do with the state of the country and basically hung up on me. Meanwhile, I get a traffic ticket and have to go to court because i wasnt in the slow lane while towing my trailer for work, you know the work I do to pay taxes and support my family. Unlike these foreign scamming dirt bags that they won’t even attempt to pursue. So frustrating! I’m getting a lawyer.

Any chance the scammers picked that location for the meet up? Do you know how many foreigners run gas stations, it wouldn’t surprise me if they have some affiliation with the gas station owners so they don’t ever give up security footage or something. Complete speculation of course.

If you were at the gas station when they did that to the engine, try to get footage from the station, and see if you can get the footage of him doing it.
