just came across this creator. The reason that the scammer askes if you have access to FB marketplace is because of how online subscriptions work for like FB work poor countries like Nigeria are charged by SUBSCRIPTION, not service. So for example, FB is subscription, and they are charged a weekly access or data charge to those subscriptions. Whatsapp is usually free cause it is linked in with google or something like that. This is why they (scammers) always want you to switch to whatsapp. That and it hacked on the reg.
As a realtor, I appreciate you shedding light on this specific scam! I’m reporting posts daily on marketplace and smaller county-specific groups that are exactly like the first one you showed. I’m also about 90% positive that I was in direct contact with “Du Rick” at one point as well. That name is extremely familiar.
How does the scam work if the victim can't physically go inside the property? Nobody would go through with a real estate deal if they don't have access to where they're going to be living.
@@dannydaw59 they can by using the rently app. If the home is already posted on there then the scammer can send the link for the client to view the home themselves without anyone else present. I’ve used it a couple times for rental clients, and it’s a super simple process. You wouldn’t think it happens, but there are a lot of people that are desperate for a home and will send the “deposit” without even thinking twice or even seeing the home.

I was very naive around 2 years ago when I wanted to lease a house for my family and I unfortunately fell for this scam. Thank you for brining awareness
Thanks for posting this. I worked as a leasing agent for homes 10 years ago and this is what we ran into a lot. Sometimes these scammers would say they are doctors who left the country on a mission trip, were in an accident and seeking medical help somewhere else, they need someone to just take care of their house temporarily, etc. They often would have an excuse of why they are no longer using a realtor and sometimes will tell people to ignore the lock box on the door or just cut it off. I have even ran into somebody who sent a large security deposit and first months rent to a scammer and we’re living in one of our houses that we were getting ready to do construction on. We couldn’t get their money back, but we gave them some money to help them out. These guys are jerks and will always try and make it quick buck. I always tell renters to never give money to anyone they have not met in person. There are also ways to check to make sure who is actually the owner of the home.
I have read in the media about the scammers that HAVE met the potential renter, a buyer in person!! So, ‘not meeting in person’ can not be the only guide in re to the scammers! They can even pretend to be the rental agents, etc! These scammers took the deposit money from several people! The renters and the buyers only found out that they were scammed when they all tried to move in!

I just came out to realise your videos through Facebook and i can confirm you are doing great work. Scammers should be exposed completely plus their contacts.
Thank you for doing this. I'm a property Manager and have had several people call to check on the units being available after they were scammed on Facebook Marketplace. Luckily the ones I have talked to did thier homework before they paid.
I remember receiving an email about a job right after I finished college. The prospective “employers” asked me to print and fill a form, which now that i think about it, looked just like the form you printed in this video 😂.. I really thought it was real… thank God I was broke then, and didn’t have the $300 fee they asked for. 😅
Mine used to be Mike hawk yrs later I still have ppl calling looking for him on my work phone I used to have a lot of free time to mess with them I have no clue how my fake name and number are still out there
I've been watching Pleasant Green for awhile and this has to be one of my favorites. The way he played both parts and revealed it at the end was hilarious!!
Wow. I was scammed years ago with the same exact scenario. Me and the wife contacted the ad, the "owner" was looking to rent the place out, said he was a truck driver and on the road, gave us the code to look at the place, and came to an agreement we wanted it. Once again he was " on the road" and we only dealt with him on text. Lesson learned later of course BUT never go forward if you never meet the person. We reluctantly paid the deposit and after contact went dead afterwards. Again i was in a bad spot at the time and thought nothing of it, but lost out, but recovered. So in conclusion thank you for going after these scammers, sometimes a minor win in justice is served by individuals as yourself.
Unfortunately, ‘meeting in person’ is not a guarantee either! I have read in the media about the scammers that HAVE MET the potential renter, or a buyer in person!! So, ‘not meeting in person’ can not be the only guide in re to the scammers! They can even pretend to be the rental agents, etc! Some scams are elaborate! The keys are given, the fake paperwork, etc etc! These scammers took the deposit money from several people! The renters or the buyers only found out that they were scammed when they all tried to move in on the same day! Another renter already moved in! It was a mess! The police were called, of course! There are a number of such media reports, with some variations on how the scams were done! Some senior home owners were on a vacation or in a hospital, etc when someone faked their house Deeds or these were obtained illegally, and sold their homes underneath them!! Long court cases! The Govt offices were also implicated in not safeguarding the Deeds info, etc, giving the house rights to the scammers! It was scary to read!

The owners of the house are also victims of this scam, if the house is actually real. I've heard stories of people showing up to vacation rentals, just to see the house is already occupied for months.
Somebody almost got like this in Nashville. They had a real house up and everything. I drove to the house and didn’t see no type rent or sale sign. I wanted to knock on the door and let them know their house was online, but nobody was home.
Scams are like a never ending bag of rotten treats, throw one, the next shows up. Nigeria and other countries surely have legal, legit job these scammers could work, even with a low/er income, but they're too lazy to do it. Their excuses for scamming are lame and pathetic. If ill and disabled people can work, so can they. Also shame on the willing mules around the world, greed and money hunger cloud people's minds and hearts. As usual, the scambaiting community doing a service for everyone. Wishing you a Happy New Year, Mr. Ben!
Yes, but work is tiring. These countries get money, aid, training, you name it, from the developed world but, as soon as the helpers are gone, they go back to being unproductive and scamming. Then they'll blame us all for their misery.
@@libelle8124 Yes, but it goes like that fishing thing, giving fish feeds someone only for a while, teaching them how to fish keeps thel fed for life. Things aren't done in a helpful way, free money is not a good idea. Instead, teach them useful things, like crafting, repairing, cooking, etc. Things to get them started, to enable them to access basic professions, like working in factories, even if it's not a great work to do due to ethics and payments in poor countries, it is a start, better than nothing. But that's just my thought on this.
@@Drakkar2992 They are done in a helpful way. Here one of many examples: my husband was in an African country to protect the people for the aid-organisation, who were working there for one year. Showed them everything, built them wells, homes, schools, infrastructure. Gave them machines for agriculture and other things and trained them up. As soon as the aid-organisation left, these people built themselves huts again and asked aid-organisations for money. I would NEVER spent another penny into anything to do with Africa.
@@libelle8124 I guess it's a mentality thing then, which is really hard to change. Close to where i live, there was a fund raiser made by some ngo's for people in Africa, hence why i thought that it was simply about free money. A noble thing on your husband's part to go there and help.

The reason you couldn’t post the ad on marketplace is because your account was too new. They make sure your account is at least a couple of weeks old before you can post on marketplace.
As a real estate investor, when I was first getting tarted, I came across this very scam. I immediately knew something was up, so I also accepted the 'job', and when I got the first house, I went to it. It was indeed a recently rehabbed home. I went to the neighbors, and they told me the house had just been sold a month earlier., for about $100K more than the price in the ad I was supposed to make. I then went and called the real estate company associated with the sale (and that they were using in the ad), and sure enough, they were not the ones hiring, and the home had sold a month earlier. The apparent scam was to get people to pay earnest money on a property they didn't own, and disappear

Love when you can change the script on scammers and have them fall for their own scam. You rule
The amount of scams I would’ve fallen for if I had money 😂
I'm not even done with the video yet, and I'm gasping for air laughing. 😂
All these fake names are hilarious 😂 next fake name should be Max E. Pad
Mine used to be Mike hawk yrs later I still have ppl calling looking for him on my work phone I used to have a lot of free time to mess with them I have no clue how my fake name and number are still out there
Remember the KC Royals player, Mike Sweeny? It took 7 innings for me to realize why some fans behind me kept shouting Mike Sweeney is HUGE 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
... Or Tam Pontim
Al Coholic would be a fake name I would use!
Did you report it to the authorities?
@@YaaaTeee Why do you keep asking in replies? Why not just put up an original post asking who has reported a scam? You'd get a better chance of responses.
“I get you arrested” absolutely got me 😂😂😂😂
I love how easy you explain things. It sure makes things easier for me to explain to family who I am trying to teach on keeping themselves safe, how to not fall for scams, and also why it is important to use a different password everywhere and not just simple words but really sentences that will only make sense to them.
This is one of your best videos, could not stop laughing at the end when you said Bend Over and Mike went partying and spent all the money😂
You can tell Du Rick was so shocked that he was able to talk normally
Darn it lol. I knew I should read through the comments before I make one. I just said the same thing thinking I was all smart and crap
Well done. Government should be doing this work to protect the public. But too busy trying to stay in power.
I love this! Scammed the scammers and enlightened a poor woman in a romance scam, a three-for
I am going to buy myself something nice😂😂
I couldn't stop laughing
I really like your editing style. it has a lot of character.
I dont know how you keep up making such great videos so often.

I appreciate that. You're climbing too! Keep it up!

This episode was hilarious. Love how you ended with Ben and Mike partying with the money 😂😂😂
I wish more people would take more note on the bad grammar, spelling and whacky English before they fall for scammer crap… dude… I LOVE your content! You are my absolute fave scam baiter!!! 🤘🏼
This was great! The tangled web you made was awesome! Why is Mike Rafone such a G? 😂😂😂

Dang, the way you handled the scam is fabulous and very well thought!
So my mom is elderly and called me one day frantic about some will my grandfather had left her. Of course at first I was more than happy for her since it was a decent amount. Everything seemed legit until she started asking me to take her to the store to get gift cards. Mind you she don't even know what they are . That was the first red flag. l asked her what she would possibly need an Apple gift card if one she don't know what they are for and 2 she don't own anything Apple! She proceeded to tell me that her "lawyer " needs them to process a payment for paperwork she needs done. Regardless of me telling her it's a scam she won't believe me! Now they sent her some paper work saying he signed this will in 2022 . Mind you my grandfather passed back in 2010 so how could he sign this document !! Well she won't believe me so if anyone could help me scare this scammer please
I suggest showing her videos exposing this type of scam so that hopefully she'll believe you.
We have so much fun watching your videos!! Looking forward to The People's Call Center this summer!! Can't wait to see all the shanigans there!! Thank you for all ya do! The short and entertaining videos that you and Deyo do are perfect for us to show some of our "older"(than me) friends and neighbors. Keep up the great work! 😊
Your characters make me laugh every time. Hugh Jass is my personal favorite 🤣
Hugh Jass, can you step over to Mike Rafone?

This just happened to my girlfriends close friend and she lost 5k doing this, it looks real and feels real because everything is done online, but talk to your friends that are moving or close relatives because some people aren’t on TH-cam!!
this is true they pretend a lot
This is better then watching a movie 😂😂😂🤣
This video has such good pacing. You really kept things moving quickly, which kept me watching! Good job!
🤔 I thought Du couldn't talk because of the shock in his body from the accident in the snow in Texas
I thought he couldn’t talk due to his accident 😅😅.
hahahahahah yeah
It’s a miracle from God!

That's why I'm always looking up to your next video, I don't know if I come here to see you baiting scammers or to watch a movie. I'm even eating popcorn 🍿 😅😂😂
I'm a brand new subscriber since yesterday and I love your style of your videos. I've been following several other scam baiters for a few years
Great video. These scams are starting to get scary. Keep up the great work.
Pleasant Green has said many times there aren't enough legit honest jobs to go around in Nigeria.
I had the Nigerian music in my head right from the start 😄You are so clever in the way you handle theses scams ,and you always have something to show us that may not be known by a lot of people. All your videos and great without all the yelling and swearing. (I don't mean by you)
@PLEASANT_PAGE Go away, scammer!
The way the "guy" gets into the description of his situation it screams Nigeria from the fifth word.
My friend TY 4 sharing , OMG this was a learning experience cuz these scammers are good but u are 5 steps ahead of them. U rock my friend, wow EPIC
This was an interesting one! 😂😂 Thanks for the content as always Ben.
The reason you couldn’t post the ad on marketplace is because your account was too new. They make sure your account is at least a couple of weeks old before you can post on marketplace.
We need a "kindly" counter
I had to get a realtor because most listings were ending up like this. I felt as if they were trying to scam me, when I was looking for a rental
Pleasant Green;
I ❤❤❤ your work… A big wake up for people!
Great video.. always good for some afternoon entertainment and a good laugh. Happy new year man.
Scammer tracking is my favorite. I love it when the scammers are caught and jailed.

I also had the same thing happened to me. I told the scammer: "It is very naive of YOU if you think you can scam me!!"
It’s always a great day when Pleasant Green uploads!!!
You are an excellent narrator
Unfortunately some homeowners find people in their rental home thinking that they have a legal right to be there and it causes a legal nightmare for the homeowner to get them out.
10:51 Hahahahahaha I am dying. I am dying. i am dead. 😂
I was this close to falling for this exact scam 8 years ago. Sad to see it’s still going on!
I ran into a similar scam a couple years ago. I too strung him along for about two weeks before exposing him and letting him know that he was going to be visited by the FBI soon. He posted a job listing on Craigs List similar to the one you responded to.
Mike Rafone... genius!

I was almost a victim to this type of scam myself. The story was he worked as a volunteer doctor in Kenya. Yet, he was please to choose me as a renter and I need to wire him the money immediately🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

You do such a great job all these new ones I share to X & ad to my scambaits for awareness list. Keep up the good fight.
It's really sad that they go to this extent. I understand that they don't have much and need money to feed their family and so on, but they just don't understand how many lives they are destroying. 😢
Thanks for the helpful video. I would take caution with engaging in scammers because all they need is one piece of information that you may think is innocuous, but a clever scammer is able to ruin your life with a small amount information you give them along with data mining.
😊
I had a friend almost lose their number to a google voice scam or what not, but I gave them a number that I used for google voice and got all sorts of phone call for a fishing cart. Eventually I set up a voice mail telling that this is probably a scam and to be careful and haven’t had a call since then, but every once in a while I do.
I just watched you on a Spotlight (Exposing Worldwide Scammers) episode in Australia tonight and found this video and absolutely love it…definitely subscribing to your channel😁 Thankyou for getting back at these “Scummers” and giving us a laugh too😂 Keep up the great work🙌🏾
