I once saw someone in front of me buying $1000 worth of cards. Saying they were for Christmas for the grandkids. I thought ok, nice grandparent. Then I realized they were also on the phone. I asked if the call was an Indian dude asking to get gift cards. They were like how did you know. I said they were being scammed. I showed them these videos and they went apes*** on the guy on the phone. They were very grateful.
My grandfather, who has probably never broken the law in his life, was called by someone telling him they were with the county sheriffs office and that he had missed jury duty. They told him he owed them a $4,000 fine for such crime and he had to send them every bit of it on the prepaid Visa gift cards. He believed every word. While he was in Home Depot, it hit him what was happening. The people scamming him were indeed in the same county, about 10 miles away from his home. They caught this group and it made him so happy when he saw it on the news.

Everyone should tell and educate their elderly family members and relatives about these scams. It's not even about old people being senile or anything like that, but they're generally very naive and goodwilled, so the scammers know that and often try to guilt trip them or worse, try to befriend them and be amicable and since many old people feel lonely, they fall for the evil trap I've seen many scams where middle aged people who were divorced or lost their partner, were deceived on social media like Facebook by someone pretending to like them and wanting to meet and date them. Then after they steal their money they disappear
I received the same scam. Fortunately I live a block from the police station and told him I’d go in and pay it. He started screaming that I better not go in or I’ll be arrested. I kept saying I’ll still go. It was so much fun.
As a native Bengali speaker (from Bangladesh) I can say that by knowing our language you have honoured us. Thank you for going after those scumbags. They scammed me cause I didn't know better back then. They tried to scam my parents too. But by then, I knew how they do it. So, I took over and played dumb and in the end when started cursing them in Bengali, they hung up. After that I just called their number every weekend for a month approximately 10+ times a day. At last, they begged me not to call them. Thank you again and please keep up the great work you are doing for ordinary people out there.
@@sepulcher8263 As a native speaker, I would say it is quite difficult considering there are 50 alphabets with various forms of vowels and consonants including pronunciation variations, and obviously the grammar. I would say if someone wants to learn they will need at least 3-5 years of constant and serious practice and great deal of exposure to the language in some form on a daily basis.

My Dad is 84 and has Stage 3+ dementia. These assholes called him relentlessly and always the first question was about his age. He was getting an average of 50 calls per day! I found a phone service that allows me to only allow people in his contacts to call him. It's only a few dollars more than the service he was getting through his cable company. These criminals should get every bit of hassle you give. Thanks for your continuing work against this scum.
I downloaded Scam Shield 🛡 for free, and if the a scammer gets lucky and gets through, my phone will say 'Scam likely'. Otherwise, my phone won't even ring when it's scammers.

How do you know he isn't. There was a big bust somewhere out there and sure enough those at least, were all rounded up. Maybe the same? There's a video on that one. Maybe a team mate? Later on in the investigation?
The US and India need some sort of treaty where these scammers get extradited to the US. Surely these scammers don't pay any taxes so its not like the Indian government is worried they'll lose tax revenues. They have absolutely no reason to protect these criminals and every reason to get rid of them.

Thank God he did! A good friend from work told me a mutual friend and coworker was in a long distance relationship for quite sometime with a guy. He said he's in the military but she and a few others found it he was lying and that he was an Indian scammer using Facebook as a way to get money out of people. Had this woman going out and sending gift card, spending $300 if not more on them a few times. She didn't believe it and got sucked for a long time. The guy even posted a picture behind large sign, the words were misspelled and his hands were dark in skin tone BUT his profile picture is that of a white guy. He was pretending to be someone else, using their photos.
Shows that we have a lot to change in the way our system works and i hope that in the future, people can be more intelligent and have a more fluid system instead of this money seeking sewer, internet and youtube turned so many things possible to monetize. Too many dumb people in the world tho, dumb people are triving grounds for those who look for power and control, sadly thats the majority of the population.
I have no idea the depth of his computer skills, or how he knows what to do to get into their systems. I'm pretty computer savvy, but I'm lost watching what he does. I wish there was a computer hacking course I could take.

When I get these Nigerian email scams, I talk to them for a while and play stupid, then I tell them I'd feel more comfortable continuing on my private email address and give them some other scammer's email.

So sick of these people. My mom is getting voice mails with obvious scammers trying to call her. I delete them but she's in her 70's and has dementia as well. I have to go through all her mailings and phone calls because I don't want her to be scammed. You're not even kidding. I got hit up by a scammer 3 years ago (my first experience with that) and I figured it out right away because I'm not old and I have common sense. I called the cops, cops told me to call the FBI, I called the FBI, and they said, "Just hang up if they ever call you again. We can't follow up on this because it always comes from a foreign country and they use untraceable numbers anyway." Bullshit but whatever. FBI is barely willing to do anything. But my tax dollars go to them. Pierogi on the other hand is actually doing a public service.

Hacking is not a simple thing, he can't simple hack into any computer he wants in there, he doesn't have that access. he somehow managed to get a virus into this dude's computer (most likely) and gained access, this is why he doesn't always get access. The Bengali they're speaking has a Calcutta (Indian) dialect. Different to the Bengali dialect of Bangladesh...

My Dad is 84 and has Stage 3+ dementia. These assholes called him relentlessly and always the first question was about his age. He was getting an average of 50 calls per day! I found a phone service that allows me to only allow people in his contacts to call him. It's only a few dollars more than the service he was getting through his cable company. These criminals should get every bit of hassle you give. Thanks for your continuing work against this scum.

I downloaded Scam Shield 🛡 for free, and if the a scammer gets lucky and gets through, my phone will say 'Scam likely'. Otherwise, my phone won't even ring when it's scammers.
I think it only works on cellphones though.

My grandmother almost felt for this exact scam! She was getting her shoes on to go down to rite aid to get “gift cards” before my grandfather stopped her. Love the content, scammer payback keep doing what your doing!
Thank God he did! A good friend from work told me a mutual friend and coworker was in a long distance relationship for quite sometime with a guy. He said he's in the military but she and a few others found it he was lying and that he was an Indian scammer using Facebook as a way to get money out of people. Had this woman going out and sending gift card, spending $300 if not more on them a few times. She didn't believe it and got sucked for a long time. The guy even posted a picture behind large sign, the words were misspelled and his hands were dark in skin tone BUT his profile picture is that of a white guy. He was pretending to be someone else, using their photos.

When I get these Nigerian email scams, I talk to them for a while and play stupid, then I tell them I'd feel more comfortable continuing on my private email address and give them some other scammer's email.
It's so sad and disgusting! My 95 year old grandmother gets these calls all the time. She knows better to give out any info as I have told her and her friends the whole scam. I LOVE what you guys are doing! Great work!

So sick of these people. My mom is getting voice mails with obvious scammers trying to call her. I delete them but she's in her 70's and has dementia as well. I have to go through all her mailings and phone calls because I don't want her to be scammed. It's really honestly sick that people make a habit of trying to scam older people who don't fully comprehend what's going on.

I called the cops, cops told me to call the FBI, I called the FBI, and they said, "Just hang up if they ever call you again. We can't follow up on this because it always comes from a foreign country and they use untraceable numbers anyway." Bullshit but whatever. FBI is barely willing to do anything. Hacking is not a simple thing, he can't simple hack into any computer he wants in there, he doesn't have that access. he somehow managed to get a virus into this dude's computer (most likely) and gained access, this is why he doesn't always get access. Most likely he knows someone good with hacking that is doing this for him, and he only calls them once the hacker has access.

I don't know how or when Scammer Payback came into my feed but I had no idea these kinds of videos existed. I just love seeing these scammers get messed with. Really insightful for people like me who are aware to a point but have no computer skills. I have a high respect for this guy. Very informative.

I started laughing that much when the scammer was going on about u redeeming the cards and not to do it that i woke up my cat sleeping in between my knees who was in the land of dreams! Honestly "Viv" is 1 sassy broad and i love watching ur posts, but my cat is starting to get peeved with me cause u make me laugh too much 😂😂😂😂. I adore what u guys do and love it when u let them know what they've been doing and i fully agree that he'll be back doing it again as once these people get a taste for free money nothing will stop them until the law does and they're behind bars! xo ❤

I'm often thankful that my gradad doesn't have a computer so he can't get scammed like this.
However, the thought of him yelling "What did you say? Hang on a minute whilst I take my trumpet [hearing aid] out! You're speaking too quietly!" to a scammer warms my heart.
This scammer is so stupid that he calls money that his company "accidentally" sent to that lady "my money". He really is that filled with greed, so impatient that he broke character. Not the sharpest tool in a shed.
I’m just tempted to go with it until they get to the “mistake”. I would yell, “YES! I’m rich!” Then hang up.
Also he didn't realize that he switched names calling him sometimes Ryan and sometimes Jonny
