I work in the payment processing industry. Something these guys fail to understand is this is not a victimless crime. The bank does not lose the money, the business does. When the unsuspecting customer puts a chargeback in with their bank, the funds don’t come from the banks, it comes from the business owner who accepted the card. For businesses that get targeted by these scammers they jeopardize the business financially but also jeopardize their future ability to accept credit card payments. If enough chargebacks happen at the business their account will get shutdown and they will be put on a blacklist which makes it impossible for them to continue to do business.
@@ccarrera951 YOU are totally missing the point. You have the freedom to not buy that shit. Stealing is stealing. Stop trying to masturbate wrong doing.
Of course they do. Their response to someone losing their home because they got scammed out of their rent was "they'll get it back eventually." What a disgusting response to potentially ruining someone's life
@@ccarrera951 what an idiotic comment that has nothing to do with anything that this Scott guy was saying. Keep trying to justify being a criminal, though.
Scammers are the absolute low of the criminal world. Stealing money from the elderly and hard working people rather than putting in the bare minimum effort anywhere else.
No , the banks and politicians are the low of the criminal world , those people are all protected and get their money back FDIC insured and get new cards .. now the money being stolen by banks and politicians is something stranger than fiction .
the irony is that the scammers justify their crimes because "they have been wronged by the system" but end up wronging people in the position they used to be in, making the victim feel the same way.
Agreed.. it’s not random strangers that did the “wronging”.. that justification doesn’t work… that’s a fail on the LSAT;) I work with Mpls police consulting.. and these guys best quit while they’re ahead because this was not scamming.. this was idiocy
It’s more of a hit on the insurance companies. There’s different types of banks and each bank insures money at different amounts. If money was to be lost or stolen while in the bank account it is insured.
You made a point about nihilism in the end. It is often from traumatic situations where people are involved to do some things alike that are considered sinister. Perhaps, when they are given or learn a skill that is known first before any self-reflection, they become destructive, which, in this case, are the examples of families and elders doomed of sudden wipe off of their accounts. This recognition of nihilism, I think, is simply being aware that these kids aren't dumb to know that pessimistic feeling of continuing life, especially when they see it from the same elders that's telling them good advice and what not to do. Perhaps their salvation from their own transgressions is through understanding their own hatred and not depending on anyone, including their close friends and family, and also not to depend on themselves. Any sage, mystic, priest, or beloved can make any suggestion on how to live a good life, but I think it's truly difficult to teach compassion since it must genuinely come from that own person.
You’ve reached bonafide journalist level beloved 🎥🙌🏾 Your content rivals a lot of network television documentaries under a fraction of the budget. Great work bro!
It's a victimless crime, albeit a minor annoyance to the receipient. All of your money is ensured up to a specific amount, the amount differing depending on the bank. 70% of American's live paycheck to paycheck, $1000 from an account is nothing for a bank.
I'm living in the UK and I cannot express enough how much I despise these scumbags. I feel like the first guy in the car is an undeniable, unfightable example of how negative rap music can be for the country. He literally said he learned how to do it from someone he idolized and is now a criminal.
These dudes are coping with the lies they tell themselves. 1) Bank customers don’t always get their money back (hardly ever) and 2) they don’t split the money with the victims they scam, the victim now owes the bank all of that money used so they are still at a loss. I work in fraud at a bank. I love the content but these dudes are straight misinformed liars.
They do though. If you didn't initiate the transaction, you get your money back. Every single time I have reported a fraudulent charge to my debit card, I've had my money returned within 7 days.

The crazy thing is the food fraud case turned into jury tampering and bribery charges when some of the defendants went and followed a jury member home and brought a bag of $120k in cash and tried to get her to play ball. It’s the first case in like 30 years in Minnesota where a jury member was bribed and given statements to refute the evidence. The jury member, she snitched the next day.
the jury member isnt a "snitch" they are not bound by a criminal code of silence since they are a legitimate member of society. its annoying when people misuse that term

Do you truly think that he was just minding his business, running errands, and just suddenly ended up interviewing scammers? And all the other times, he was just going to the grocery store and just randomly ended up visiting the most ghetto dangerous neighborhoods of various states? The truth is, this was a planned video with agreed upon plans to meet with these people.
The interesting thing about these guys, is that they are legitimately not stupid. They could make a career out of consulting with law enforcement and the banking industry on how to prevent this kind of crime from happening. Ethical hacking so-to-speak.
In Minnesota instead of punishing people we give unlimited chances to change and it’s preety common to see some of the criminally challenged with 30+ charges Back to back with little or no consequences..

More like, don't get surprised that they get caught. They find one guy, they find them all. These guys have to get away uncaught every time. It takes the police to catch them once, and it's all over.
I work in fraud investigations and unfortunately these guys are right. Most fraud claims, the customer will get the money back, thr merchant loses out or the bank has to write it off as a loss. The fraudsters get away with it most of the time.
I used to be upset at these kinds of people, but as an accountant and securities and equities trader for the last 8 years I’ve realized one thing. These people are doing nothing different than wall st, banks, investment institutions, politicians, etc. Wall st commits crimes every single day yet no one gets questioned and their crimes are in the hundreds billions of dollars. Then the government launders money through foreign countries and gives our tax dollars to foreign countries without our approval. And I love the politicians making $100k a year but are worth $10 million or the politicians who just somehow become an amazing stock trader when they get into office. It’s all the same shit. This whole world and country is a scam and fraud.

Very good video Tommy. I like that you recognize these kids are doing this out of a place of desperation and hopelessness. In their mind they will never see it as stealing because let’s be honest, it’s more like borrowing. The system has billions if not trillions reserved to insure against fraudulent transactions, and providing this protection is the only thing that ensures customers can trust their bank in the first place. These kids essentially see trillions of dollars just sitting in a reserve somewhere SPECIFICALLY intended to undo the damage of their crimes… and the barrier to entry is just a piece of paper. Imagine like you said Tommy, these kids are hopeless they’ve seen the effects of 2008, they’ve seen the inflation get out of hand. They can’t afford a car let alone a home. Knowing all of this, I can understand how they wouldn’t feel like what they’re doing is sinister at all. In fact I’d say they even see it as a sort of Robin Hood type of thing because like they said, they split everything with the account holder and the only person who loses money at the end of the day is the banks/insurance companies. It’s almost a slap in the face that the system is designed to turn such huge profits ON TOP OF the money they pay to fraudsters year over year. If someone physically breaks into your home and steals your money, nobody is reimbursing that. However if you make foolish mistakes when it comes to protecting your card info or your acc number or any personal information and lead to your own information being compromised you’re still 100% covered and will receive every penny back so in a way it’s almost like they’re encouraging fraud. It’s all about perspective. People who don’t see all the aspects of the system we live in see what they’re doing as stealing from innocent victims. One small change in perspective and they see every individual persons bank account as just a means to access a giant fund owned by billionaires (which by the way is not just free money, this money comes out of the working citizens who keep their money in the bank system.) The banks are burning billions each year to make us “feel” secure with our banking system when in reality they’re just using our own money to cover the loss you already encountered due to fraud. It’s not hard to see why these guys don’t have moral issues with what they do when you look at it as just stealing from the banks that scam us every day. They profit so immensely that they’re able to guarantee everyone their full bank account balance if it’s stolen fraudulently, and these guys found a way to take a small small fraction of that by utilizing a paper and printer, gotta respect it
"Gotta respect it" ... wow you are a total clown. Unreal. They are not stealing from the banks and billionaires, they are stealing from working people, families, old people, broke people...and it has nothing to do with people "making foolish mistakes when it comes to protecting (their) card info", there are countless ways that information gets compromised/leaked from third parties, vendors, etc. You can be the most paranoid person in the world about your data security and still be impacted, and MOST OF THE TIME YOU AREN'T GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK. The people repeating this lie are the people who have never had this happen to them (yet).
My grandma a couple years ago was a mail carrier after she got out of the military, Some guys tried to rob her while working and shot her in both of her legs. She couldn’t walk for a very long time. After that the people somehow got her address and would stalk her so she had to move.

I think you’re missing his point… His point is this government, banks, and the rich are to blame for this situation. If people in poverty had a decent fighting chance things like this wouldn’t be so common. Being victims of the system makes us hate the system on an unimaginable scale. That hate also turns many “good people” into “bad people”. Most people turn to a life of crime out of desperation due to poverty.

Then let’s start with the politicians 😂
