Thx. Anxious to see what it does when I make the reverse side into one of those “rabid minority” “bumpy hones” 😅 I do gotta try that snap your fingers cooking style…pure class!
awesome shave Bill! I'm having so much fun honing on the curved stones but the shaping of them was hell haha can't imagine shaping a hard ark. Cheers, hope the water problem fix goes well.
I had the same feeling with the running water stick, it felt to harsh and I think makes it prone to damaging the edge. I used the dawn dish soap but not the balistal. I do not have much left, I need to order more of it. I look forward to seeing your shaping video. I think it is compulsive honing and razor buying disorder for me. lol I just can't stand to see such lovely razors in disrepair and not being used that I can't say no to getting them. Thanks for sharing.
CSD..yeah.. "They" said straight razor would be cheaper than cartridge ones.. Honestly what bs, if i only stayed with canned foam and disposable cartridge.. Now I have 4 C.V.H mk31 and bidding on yet another one, on top of the rest, not to think of the soaps, creams, pre and after shave's, brushes, and now I am likely to go down the rabbit hole and get another coticule to try convexing. Puhh, life was easier back in the days when you got a pack and a new can in the supermarket.. Easier yes, but maybe not as fun. Nice video Bill. 😀
I'm terrified of water 💧 leaks in my property Bill , I wish you all the best with that ! 👍 I've heard of ILR , never tried one ....your brave using that GD , as I don't trust them ,unreliable steel ? Great learning aids . Your a really a excellent experimentalist , a beacon to aspire to 🎉. I'm also a CSD 😂. Great video! Lovely C.V.Heljestrand 😍 hardly surprising it was better than a horrible gold dollor 😂. I'm still trying all the packing peanuts I can find 😢 most are junk ...the green S shapes are best , nothing beats a baby plum tomato 🍅😂😂😂 . (Then the HHT, after careful stropping ).
Thanks Johan. I actually do know of a guy who saved money. He went exclusively with a 1/2 DE shavette and only used blades once. I tried that for a while and got 5 shaves per blade. I started getting all bound up and missing the fun, so I repented.
@billm.2677 if it was all about money Bill 💰 people would never take up any hobbies, and so limit their skills and enjoyment 😉 Look at golf ⛳️ a good walk wasted 🤣😅😂
@@Martins-Shaves123 I don’t like water leaks either, but terrified??? Now if I shaved with a cutthroat blade, skated with a harem of wimmin, then took my harem with me to go court my Moroccan hot number…then I’d be skeered 😳😬 Oh, GoDallah steel?? I call them China Wonders for a reason…sometimes you have to wonder why you buy this stuff.
Hi Rich. I have a barber size Jasper in inventory just in case I want to give it a try. For finishing, one should take a look at Ballastol or maybe honing oil as an option on the IRL. I liked it better than water. So, for my first real success honing flat, I went from diluted coticule slurry to ballastol on this ILR. I figured it was time to learn something different. 😃
What you said about GDs is spot on. Good for practice… honing and shaving. Love the MK32.
Nice shave, Bill. Had to watch I two parts. Started too late last night and had to cut off. On to Eric’s video.
Great shave. My next one that’s been trying to upload for a day looks at the same stone. Always good to see your videos, great discussion.

Sounds like the kind of upload troubles I have.

Thanks Sean. All the parts I need are on the way.
Congrats on getting an Imperial LA Roccia stone, Bill!
Thanks Joe, it is a stone that will have its place.
Hi Bill. Yeah most of us have shaving disorder probably 🙂 nice shave

I did the shaping and exposed some gold flecks. I gotta see if affects honing.

Good morning Bill! I got an ILR some time ago in the hopes of using it as a finishing stone. Ended up going with a Jasper.
