Is this for the 2.4i fwd NON turbo manual?
There is an O-ring in a groove inside the transmission's axle sleeve that can be damaged and will leak if you're not careful when pulling out or inserting the inner axle joint.

I am having trouble getting out the Axle from the transmission

My axle slid out and I cannot figure out why could I have the wrong axle I squeezed the retainer clip it would not go in correctly w out it
Why need an alignment since you didn't touch the tie rod ? Lower ball joint has the same position.
Usually it’s just recommended incase the cv axle affected the alignment. I’ve done many that haven’t needed it.
How do I replace the bearing in the casing?
Why am I having issues getting the driver side cv joint out?

The transmission shouldn’t leak on a automatic unless the seal is bad
I’m in the middle of this repair and noticed my control arm does not have much if any upward recoil. Is this symptomatic of a bigger problem? Higher mileage S40
