New CV Axle Shaft from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AACV00317
A CV axle has flexible joints. Often, these joints wear out, or seize from contaminants due to the protective boot tearing open. A worn joint is prone to breakage, or other hazards. If your vehicle needs a new CV axle, install a quality TRQ axle that is engineered to your vehicle’s specifications. This video shows you how to install one in your 2004-12 Volvo S40.

This is the first auto how to video that I completed the job in the same time the video did.
Only thing I didn't need to do was remove the tie rod end. I left it alone. Knocking down the control arm was the hardest part. I brought a big rubber mallet from harbor freight and took me like 10 hits. It honestly wasn't even hard.
If you can change your own brake pads you can change an axle. I was nervous doing it on my own but it was very simple.
    Thank you for this!

    Hi thanks for the instruction
Please can you confirm if the s40 2.4 and s40 2.5 t5 use same shaft. I have tried replacing my but all I got didn’t fit-in particularly the extension that connect the gearbox. Any info will be helpful. Tank you

Is it necessary to remove the shock absorber out? Because on the right side of this same series he doesn’t need to. And I recently replace both shocks, and believe me it wasn’t fun.

The shaft is not long enough!! This is the same issue I have been trying to solve, the ones I replaced sat flush to the outside of the wheel hub yet this one does not. I had a mechanic tell me this kind of gap is dangerous as there is a change the axle will move back and forth. If you could please clear this up for me as I have already spent too much time and money trying to sort this out...close to two grand!! PLEASE HELP Otherwise love the video!

I’m in China and the dealer wants about 950€ for the OEM shaft and advises me the aftermarket ones are dubious- has anyone had issues?
