    You had a wonderful time at that party - had me smiling. Your jumper looks so cozy and ready for winter - maybe add knitting elastic to cinch the neckline a bit. I've heard of adding butter to coffee, but did not realize how much to add. I add heavy whipping cream to my teas/coffee; I guess it the closest thing to butter. So delicious.

    Ivana, you have given us directions, recipes, even videos…….you have “gifted” all of them. This does not even mention your gift of time and energy put into each and every video. You’ve said “ thank you” in so…. Many ways. The greatest of all is sharing how you live in the moment by counting the seconds in an opportunity to be creative.
    On the subject of sizing socks when you don’t know the size perhaps a pair of leg warmers would be an idea. You wear boots, how cute would ribbed leg warmers be in your hand spun? THEN, we could say
    “thank You “ for a recipe to go with the hat recipe you shared.
    That new cardigan would be a gift of love to your sister in law. You’re a gift each Saturday morning in Texas.

    I was blown away by the array of food at the party you went to and I smiled at the ladies who wore their “dancing” shoes/sneakers to dance. Smart. I love love love the purple yarn! 🧶 It’s my colour. ❤ I think you could just gift your hand spun and knit sweater to your sister. If instead you want to unravel it and reknit it for yourself, make sure you first record the finished ‘blocked’ gauge, stitches and rows, from the sweater body. It becomes your gauge swatch.

      Yes, the food was very good at the party. I was contemplating to wear my stilettos, but knowing that I will inevitably dance, I opted for converse sneakers :) ❤️

    Hello Ivana, the party looked like a great time. The wool you spin is so lovely, your faded sweater looks so cozy.
    Have a great week happy crafting🤗 PS. Does your family speak Greek and how long have you lived in Cyprus? , could you put some elastic in the collar to tighten it up?

    • @therepublicofme
      @therepublicofme  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I came to Cyprus in 1992 when I was 13 years old. At home we speak English though as Mario (my husband) was born and raised in London. I do however speak Cypriot dialect as it is a bit different from Greek (closer to Ancient Greek). ❤️

    You are empathetic. Thats a wonderful quality. But its OK to give away something to just one if Thats what you have. Plus shipping is expensive. And I say that as someone who never wins. Its ok. I am happy for someone else. Also, the Grey sweater you can't wear is absolutely beautiful.

    Loved the video! I do have a questiom regarding your spinning - do you always spin on an electric spinning wheel or do you also use a traditional spinning wheel? I would be very interested in a video all about your hand spinning as I also want to start and don‘t know what type of spinning wheel to invest in! Best regards xx

    • @therepublicofme
      @therepublicofme  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      thank you. I usually spin on my treadle Ashford Kiwi and ply on the electric spinner. They both have their place and I cannot tell you which I prefer more. The electric spinner is very efficient, but there is something tactical when treadling with your feet on the traditional wheel. ❤️

    Did you put the jumper in lingerie bag before placing in the washing machine? I never use a front loader. I have a dedicated little lightweight 3.5kg Euromaid top-loader for wool/fleeces. Cost about A$400. Soak in a laundry trough or the top loader but not on any cycle. All wool staples/wool garments I place in a lingerie bag on a 3 min low spin. If you plan on shrinking it, dont agitate so it doesn't felt. Place the jumper in hot tap water in the basin then cold water. But spin in the bag but on a low spin that you have control over/can stop.

    • @therepublicofme
      @therepublicofme  วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, I didn't put the jumper in the washing bag. I washed it and blocked the same as I do with all of my knits, and this is the first time this has happened ❤️
