Lisa. From Unwind and Knit recommended your Podcast. I have now watched them all. I’m envious about your trip. It’s so great to find another NZ podcast. Thank you it’s a must watch podcast. Have a wonderful trip
Hello from a Kiwi living in the UK. Lisa from Unwind and knit with me recommended your podcast. I'm so glad she did. I've thoroughly enjoyed binge watching 4 episodes so far. I've been home recently visiting family in Rangiora and Havelock North and came home with a huge amount of Kiwi yarn. While in Christchurch I visited Lisa, Wild Earth Yarns and Get Flocked plus the two yarn shops in Rangiora. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time travelling. Kia Kaha.
New viewer from NZ. Great to have another Kiwi podcast. Enjoyed your episode & love the traditions of knitting, castles & history. Hope to visit Scotland again one day as much of our family heritage from various parts.
Just binge watched all your episodes. Recommended by Lisa from ‘ Unwind and knit with me’. Really enjoying your style… have a wonderful trip …looking forward to your updates. Hastings NZ
Hi Bebe & Stephen. I've recently discovered your podcast channel. You work really well together presenting your love of knitting. I'm local ish to you as I live near Rangiora. Look forward to following you on your travels & seeing what yarny treasures you purchase. Enjoy your trip. Best wishes Barbara Hawker.
Thank you for the kind words. I’m not sure how good our coverage will be as travel bloggers we are not, but there will at the very least be a photo / video montage somewhere, and Bebe is posting daily on her instagram 👍🏻
You will LOVE the Sophie shawl. I have made two, one large and one medium. The beauty of this shawl is that you can knit until you reach half of your desired length and then start decreasing, so you can tailor it to your needs. Super addicting. I'm going to make some more for sure. You will want to buy a lot of Norwegian yarn. It's so gorgeous, the colors of Hilesvag, Rauma, etc. You may want to ship that back too (hint hint).
I’m so excited to squish all the yarn in person! I think I will cast on a Sophie Shawl once I’ve finished the current WIPs (socks, 2 hats and a sweater!) -Bebe
Just found you guys this morning….loved the program and am very excited to get back home to Tasmania to get knitting on some of the beautiful NZ yarn you guys have critiqued… have a great trip and look forward to more content.🙌🏼🇦🇺
So nice to have discovered your podcast. Have the best trip and I cannot wait to see what you get up to - definitely keen on seeing a few castles - I am from Dunedin so not too far from you both
safe travels, happy plane knitting and movie marathons. Culture, mill tours, being amongst all that knitting, yarn, castles and ruins. Love it all. Thanks for taking us along
Greetings from Western Canada I sat down with my knitting, clicked on You Tube, and there you were! This was my first time watching, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Watched all the podcast, finished the row, went to the computer and subscribed and liked. Now I will make coffee, and watch previous podcasts. What an amazing trip. Have a wonderful time. We shall all travel vicariously with you. Thank you so much for a very entertaining morning.
Hi from Texas! Just came across your podcast, and loved seeing the Marie Wallin projects! I’m currently knitting Seaton as well as her Fairisle Club 9 jacket (on hold for a KAL). Excited to travel vicariously with you! Safe travels!
@@justanotherknittingpodcast So far, I am loving it, but I had to restart. I decided to make a smaller size after the first motif, so I’m finally back to where I started. I’m thinking of doing the sleeves in the round with steeks, but not sure quite yet. I’m definitely not a fan of flat color work. 😂
I live in NYC. If you need anything while you are in the city, feel free to give a shout! I love the Brooklyn General Store yarn store. In Manhattan, Downtown Yarns and Knitty City. Have a grand adventure!
Hi from Norway, your podcast just popped up in my feed, I really enjoyed watching! Quite fascinating to hear about knitting life on the other side of the world, and finding out it is not too different from mine! Your trip sounds really great, and you are even going to Norway! As you said you love woolly yarns, I really recomend you check out the yarns from Hillesvåg and Rauma, lovely woolly yarn in Norwegian wool. If you are in Oslo you will find both at Husfliden situated downstairs in the department store "Glassmagasinet". "Fru Kvist", "Pickles" and "Garntopia" are also lovely yarn shops in Oslo. I am really looking forwards to hearing about your trip, also the odd castle. Enjoy!
Second comment here.. I love your projects. The Frame your face Cowl finally inspired me to knit it. I love the pattern but was not sure about the thickness.. double worsted weight seems like a lot for me. I’m Planning to make it in Drops Air.. bulky but very light.
I made mine in woolen spun so it’s light weight but very poofy. I can confirm it’s a delight to wear, I had it on yesterday for a boat ride to the Isle of Iona, and it kept me so toasty!
New subscriber here! Your knits are gorgeous! Count me in for the castles and abbeys! Your trip sounds like a dream. I live about a three hour drive from Rhinebeck, so I would switch that for a visit to New Zealand though. I hope it all goes smoothly for you and you enjoy every minute!
OMG! I just stumbled over your podcast. Love it! I'm so envious of you two being able to share your knitting and yarnie love! Fantastic knitters both. Sigh. My thing is color work, so again, love everything you are showing and knitting and planning. What a trip you are on now., Wow! I hope you're having a wonderful time! I live a bit over an hour away from Rhinebeck. Not sure if I'm going or not. I might! Probably Sunday if I do go. Saturday is always crazy. Have fun!
Have just discovered your channel and have binge watched all the episodes, love the fair isle and Stephen has inspired me to push my knitting projects further. Having just returned from Shetland, I know you will have a great time. Look forward to seeing more knitting and castles. Safe travels

Hi. Just found your podcast and so enjoying it. Any chance you might be the woman I met along River road in Christchurch (in March). I complimented you on a beautiful Love Note sweater (pinky-brown maybe) that you were wearing. And as we chatted (I am from Canada) you mentioned you would be going to Shetland Wool Week and to Rhinebeck. . . Just wondering. In any event, have a WONDERFUL time, and thanks to you both for a great podcast episode. Safe travels, Yaël😊
Dont take your ChiaGoo tips. Take Knitpro symfonie. Qatar told me I couldn't take knitting needles when I travel fm Adelaide to Doha on 13/10. Its not Airport security. They are fine with needles. But I have heard other travellers have without any issue. What is the name of the Mill please, that produced the recycled fibre? Is it Anna Gratton?
The funny thing is, if anyone sees someone wearing yyour Framed sweater, they will also know who broke into your car since your sweater is most likely one-of-a-kind.
Maybe they felt like poking their eyes out, knitting it too, but wanted a Rhinebeck sweater, too. Lol. You might see your sweater over there on someone.

Your gauge can change if you are tired, stressed or rushing. Also the wool can with the weather conditions, absorb more moisture/humidity. So the yarn may have varying moisture content and fluff up thicker. More likely, during the spinning production process, variable micron staple thickness. As the wool doesn't come from one sheep only. Like us, we all have different thicknesses of hair.

Hi thank you for another interesting video.
The fact that both of you knit is
wonderful.
I'm South African, living in England for the last
19 years.
Mainly came over with my husband for his medical needs.
Which wasn't that successful.
I really enjoy Southern hemisphere people's podcasts, maybe it's the accent and ofcourse the amazing knitting.
When growing up in South Africa, I learned to knit at the age of five, 73 now.
There wasn't a lot of knitting, my mother always had to have a Jaeger mohair cardigan, knitted with English mohair and I followed that, but my children wouldn't cuddle up with me because they didn't like the texture.
And I'm very wool sensitive.
I knitted many children's clothes, but as the kids grew up they didn't really want more and then the dreaded track suits came into our lives and I could make them.
Colour work wasn't really what we liked where we were in Johannesburg and my children only liked stocking stitch.
Cables were totally not for them and they told me that it looked like a very Afrikaans cake .
After one of my husband's problems, he had lymphedema and I couldn't find any socks that fitted him, so I taught myself to knit socks.
I'm dyslexic and bought Ann But's sock book, not knowing the difference between English and American jargen.
After a lot of swearing in Afrikaans, I'm still knitting socks, Vanilla socks, but most English people at the garden centre in Cambridge, can't believe one can do that.
I have yet to find yarn shops in the vicinity, and find buying affordable yarn online terrible and spend my days returning yarn.
TH-cam was also not that familiar and now I am totally addicted.
If only I had it with the sock learning saga.
I love mytered knitting, and ended up knitting 3 huge blankets.
Will still knit a body warmer, just need a pattern and see many pictures, but most knitters are Russian or an alphabet I can't understand.
I spent 3 months in South Africa with my daughter, but came back to England with a sad heart after seeing my country......
I'm really jealous of your trip, but travelling to SA and back was enough.
I hope you enjoy your marathon trip and ship all your goods back to New Zealand.
Nearly forgot, you are the first people who talked about jerseys. When I just got to England and I talked about a jersey people couldn't understand me.
I'm really interested in the recycled grey New Zealand wool.
Would love to knit a blanket with that as back ground colour, with many bright spots of colour.
Sorry for this "essay " as my children call it.
Take care and God bless

We’ve been watching Mark’s TH-cam, very informative and he has such a lovely demeanour :) -Bebe
I like history and knitting!
Have a great trip. Orkney and Shetland are both wonderful. I don’t think knitting and castles are niche, not in the UK anyway!
I'm keen to see you knitting in front of castles and ruins.
We can make that happen :)
Like the idea of knitting, travel and history. Looking forward to seeing where you take this content. Are there many castles in New Zealand? 😅😅
There is one “castle”, though it’s not particularly old and not really a castle 😂
I love castles with my yarn!
Me too!
PS. I love Castles too.
What’s not to love!?
Yes! That’s so amazing! I think about that moment all the time, it was so lovely to meet a fellow knitter like that. Welcome!
Wow! What amazing trip 😊 if you have the opportunity ‘loop’ of London is worth a visit
Sadly, I think we will miss it, as we are heading straight for Glasgow when we arrive. Next time!
OMG! I thought you said, “Steven will be doing a lot of meth.” You actually said, “Steven will be doing a lot of math”😂😂😂💗💗
Bahahaha I promise he won’t be doing any meth! -Bebe
Thanks for this - I did bring my wooden needles and have had no issues. The mill is Wild Earth Yarn in Christchurch -Bebe
It’s exactly what crossed my mind.
@@vinalini all their followers will be on the lookout for it now. Lol.
I suspect it ended up in a bin somewhere 😭
@justanotherknittingpodcast I hope not. Hopefully they at least have thd sense to wear it
Wow! What nice men and mean, rude women.😮
Sounds like a bucket list trip! That’s going to be wonderful with all the countries you plan to visit…. ❤✈️🐑🧶
