I absolutely love this build! The rounded corners in the counters , the extremely well done carpet covering, the storage and multi access option...and haven’t even finished the video yet! Can’t believe how well this is laid out in that tiny van. Well done! Particularly appreciated how easily accessible all the electrical components are. That hinged board the fuse panel is on, that’s brilliant.

This is a really nice little build. So much neat functionality in a tiny space. Would've liked to see a demonstration of the practical elements - like seating vs sleeping etc. Also, that platform over the front seat is a great way to travel with a dog.
I was kind of wondering about the sitting and sleeping comfort with cushions. Aside from that it’s as awesome as could possibly be ….you just do absolutely amazing work. I, personally, still don’t understand about what an inverter is and why I need one. IF you could direct me to reading material on the subject, I would be very appreciative! Wish I could afford your beautiful conversions….maybe someday!!!🎉😊

Josh, everything you have done in this van build is so meticulous so well thought out. I was so impressed about all the extra drawers you managed to add because of "dead space ". WOW I was also wondering where the bed was going to be but I'm sure you had that figured out. I love the rollers shade between the cab and the back and the roller shades on the window. You really amaze me with how you thought out the access to the storage inside and outside the van and those wires are si neatly installed. You get a GOLD STAR from me. I love to see designs of vans and campers and have seen alot of them. I must say you are the best and so meticulous. Great job Josh.

EXCELLENT JOB! I haven't seen a Ford Transit Connect van conversion as nice and well thought out as this one! This rivals the larger Sprinter vans being just as functional! Add in a great sleeping pad and a few throw pillows and you're ready to rock!
Full slide out draws are like the most satisfying thing about van conversions and campers for me like I’m not sure why but I absolutely love that idea. Being able to access it if I’m outside and the hinge idea so if you’re inside you can still get to it is just nice. I wasn’t sure what to expect in all honesty and it was exceedingly well above what I did expect. This is super super nice. Makes me wish I had a van to convert lol 😂

Very clean, minimalistic and useful. The toilet design is awfully practical and is my first concern in van builds. Btw, you've nothing to apologize for - this is an amazing build.
That sliding door to hide the water tank(s) is an awesome idea. Suggestion on use of space - for the little box on the wall that houses the door slide mechanism - you could have built narrow shelves from the top of the box up to the ceiling - extra storage and would look better than the little box just sticking out of the wall. Overall, great job.

Definitely appreciate the company warnings at the beginning. Nobody wants to deal with putting money into a company that isn't going to take care of their end of the transaction. Also, I think this dude is good at narrating/speaking. Should pick up some gigs in front of a camera
Agree. Some may think that $13 is not a big deal. But the company is responsible for putting out erroneous design data. Any company that is interested in repeat business should readily and happily correct the error and absorb the cost. I will certainly steer clear of their products. See they are already losing business over $13! Short sighted.
For what i understand micro campers dont really much insulation cause with a small climatazer like he put it can keep the place really good with the temperature
That is gorgeous. Clean and simple. Ps to those worried about storage space.... You can buy cushion covers and fill them with blankets, sleeping bags, jackets, sweaters etc so you get comfort and storage in one.

I really like the many places you maximized the storage space, and thought through interior and exterior access to a space whenever possible. As someone who travels solo, not having to exit the vehicle to access many areas is preferable. Seeing a smaller van that can have so many possibilities AND an additional window that opens to get more ventilation, is genius! Wanting a camper van someday. I subscribed right away.

Yeah renogy leaves a little to be desired. I only buy from them via amazon because amazon will kick you 20% back when you have a problem with the renogy unit with poor instructions. Another Great Build Josh!

Renogy sells re-branded products from China. All these solar companies buy their products from the same factories and they all come with the same generic instructions. It is always best to check your solar panel's output with a multimeter and confirm that your charge controller can handle that input. If people can come to accept that most products are made to meet a companies high profit expectations and not to make people happy, then we would realize that we need to be more vigilant with our purchases. We also need to understand that we need to check and recheck everything we buy. Also, trying to control negative thoughts and having fun will make any van build much more enjoyable. Being aware of negative thoughts and realizing your mistakes is part of the learning process. Keep positive and moving forward. Happy van building :)
Josh, I am no expert, but the quality of your workmanship is second to none. Detail and space utilization is amazing. I love what you did with controls which are done so cleanly. I wondered about weight; I see you used lots of 3/4". Does this represent any weight concerns? Also, what would a person do in terms of sleep? Use a sleeping bag? Great build. You should be proud of your work quality and your attention to detail.
I've seen a lot of these videos before and I think you literally used every inch of space that could possibly have been used considering how small it is this is really impressive and I'm not one to give out compliments.
Woowwwwww I started converting my mini van (2013 Ford transit connect) in 2019 and I'm just dumbfounded by your spectacular creativity and puzzles solving for such a small space. Converting a minicamper comes w so many of its own challenges. I'm thinking of rebuilding some of the features in my van after another build of your. Thanks for some great ideas
The kitty box- awesome, and the space for the cat scratcher, genius! Kitty has no way to kick the litter about. I really love it! Black leather handles fantastic! The countertops elegant! I can see it in my mind the black, white and silver conversion. See now I see the inset cubbies with mirrors inside trimed in black leather. I really like how you do the hardware, so streamline.
Nice layout. It looks super cozy. Very innovative ideas. Especially the false wall, and fridge & inverter locations. Electrical box is sweet and tidy too. Functional, cozy and super usable.
That was a beautiful neat-as-a-pin conversion, friend! So, did you address the bed layout area? Also, another really cool van build feature is a swivel passenger seat for alternative seating in the home area.

These DIY builds are leaving the RV makers gasping to catch up. Such a great use of space, genius! I liked your honesty in talking about Renogy and Van Windows Direct. So many van lifers rave about Renogy, but I did not get a good feel about them. Thanks for keeping it honest and real. Really appreciate that. 2:17 - I love this platform concept. Very functional for single drivers who need a place for doggie seat or laptop, and stuff. The folding leg is in the way however. Have you considered a small support thingie on either side screwed into the car body? If painted the same color as dashboard or black, it would be hardly noticeable and not in the way when you revert back to passenger mode with seat. This would support the cantilevered edge nicely and no more folding legs. Either cast aluminum, or wood or even a solid plastic wedge. 4:13 - The cat litter box is so cleverly designed, bravo! All the litter on paws will drop into the scratching mat. This is genius!! Here are my extras - add a plastic flap curtain between box and scratching mat. Something like a thin rubber sheet with a slit in middle that cat can walk through but closes behind him, similar to a pet door flap. Add a small computer fan and vent leading outside, similar to Nature's Head toilets. Add a second flap door at entrance to scratching mat. No more smells. 6:28 - The box sticking out... why not add an elastic cargo net in this area (Harbor Freight) to catch window covers, sunshades, or shoes? Or, make a small storage slot in there with wood sides and paracord, plexiglass, or wood strips. It seems perfect for that. fyi - We can hear you very well despite the jet noise, so no need to stop recording. It seems louder on your end than viewing end, no worries. fyi - Renogy misrepresented their product. Their product page clearly misrepresented their kit as 12V when in fact that was the wiring diagram and layout for 36V. So they are very much in the wrong here. They are also in violation of the law by false advertising and misrepresentation. They committed fraud. They should have sent you their overpriced Chinese cheap plastic connectors for free. If their product page showed a complete assembly that you bought and this was not complete or could not be used for your application, they need to fix that at their cost and apologize to you, their wholesale customer! Your remedies: 1. File a complaint with the Attorney General of Wisconsin. This is easily done online - look up filing complaints with ATTY GEN of Wisconsin. You will need dates, payment made, and copies of their product page diagram and advertising as screen shots. Very easy to do this complaint, don't delay. They have a lot of clout. 2. File a complaint with the FTC - Federal Trade Commission online. Very easy to do as well. They investigate trade complaints and wield power. Request compensation for your trouble and refund of any monies spent on extra parts and labor. You absolutely deserve this as a small business. Furthermore, your complaint will shape up Renogy fast. How dare they rip off people? Please do this as a public service to van builders. Doubtless they have conned many others. Shameful company.

Would recommend a flap for the cat “pooper” area. Also some vinyl for the floor as they overshoot the box from time to time.

Woowwwwww I started converting my mini van (2013 Ford transit connect) in 2019 and I'm just dumbfounded by your spectacular creativity and puzzles solving for such a small space. Converting a minicamper comes w so many of its own challenges. I'm thinking of rebuilding some of the features in my van after another build of your. Thanks for some great ideas

The kitty box- awesome, and the space for the cat scratcher, genius! Kitty has no way to kick the litter about. I really love it! Black leather handles fantastic! The countertops elegant! I can see it in my mind the black, white and silver conversion. See now I see the inset cubbies with mirrors inside trimed in black leather. I really like how you do the hardware, so streamline.

Nice layout. It looks super cozy. Very innovative ideas. Especially the false wall, and fridge & inverter locations. Electrical box is sweet and tidy too. Functional, cozy and super usable.

I liked your honesty in talking about Renogy and Van Windows Direct. So many van lifers rave about Renogy, but I did not get a good feel about them. Thanks for keeping it honest and real. Really appreciate that.
2:17 - I love this platform concept. Very functional for single drivers who need a place for doggie seat or laptop, and stuff. The folding leg is in the way however. Have you considered a small support thingie on either side screwed into the car body? If painted the same color as dashboard or black, it would be hardly noticeable and not in the way when you revert back to passenger mode with seat. This would support the cantilevered edge nicely and no more folding legs. Either cast aluminum, or wood or even a solid plastic wedge.
4:13 - The cat litter box is so cleverly designed, bravo! All the litter on paws will drop into the scratching mat. This is genius!!
Here are my extras - add a plastic flap curtain between box and scratching mat. Something like a thin rubber sheet with a slit in middle that cat can walk through but closes behind him, similar to a pet door flap. Add a small computer fan and vent leading outside, similar to Nature's Head toilets. Add a second flap door at entrance to scratching mat. No more smells.
6:28 - The box sticking out... why not add an elastic cargo net in this area (Harbor Freight) to catch window covers, sunshades, or shoes? Or, make a small storage slot in there with wood sides and paracord, plexiglass, or wood strips. It seems perfect for that.
fyi - We can hear you very well despite the jet noise, so no need to stop recording. It seems louder on your end than viewing end, no worries.
fyi - Renogy misrepresented their product. Their product page clearly misrepresented their kit as 12V when in fact that was the wiring diagram and layout for 36V. So they are very much in the wrong here. They are also in violation of the law by false advertising and misrepresentation. They committed fraud.
They should have sent you their overpriced Chinese cheap plastic connectors for free. If their product page showed a complete assembly that you bought and this was not complete or could not be used for your application, they need to fix that at their cost and apologize to you, their wholesale customer!
Your remedies:
1. File a complaint with the Attorney General of Wisconsin. This is easily done online - look up filing complaints with ATTY GEN of Wisconsin. You will need dates, payment made, and copies of their product page diagram and advertising as screen shots. Very easy to do this complaint, don't delay. They have a lot of clout.
2. File a complaint with the FTC - Federal Trade Commission online. Very easy to do as well. They investigate trade complaints and wield power.
Request compensation for your trouble and refund of any monies spent on extra parts and labor. You absolutely deserve this as a small business. Furthermore, your complaint will shape up Renogy fast. How dare they rip off people? Please do this as a public service to van builders. Doubtless they have conned many others. Shameful company.
