Your videos are a breath of fresh air. I almost never thumb up or like a video but you have no music no commercials and straight to the point. It's perfect
FYI, Ford put a speed limiter on the Transit Trail 81 mph plus speedometer is off by 3 mph, so it's only going 78mph . We can't drive the speed limit in a few states. Nice buildout!
This build is cooler than the rest! Practical and timeless! Everything that you need and nothing that you don’t. Love all your builds but this one is the #1 🔥🔥🔥
Spectacular job on that van! So nice to see someone make the outside look really cool as well as the inside. I really like all the cool touches that make it stealthy by also very cool at the same time.
So much information! That was a fantastic presentation, sir. The build quality and detail put into this van are incredible, and your team thought of everything. I also really like the look of that new Transit.
Stunning build, great work. We currently have a class b on the transit and its by far my favorite chassis.. Love the layout. If it were just a tad less expensive i'd trade in our van for this. Kudos!
Has anyone ever asked for a configuration that doesn’t involve a water system? I’m from Erie, PA and realistically this stuff ends up freezing/damaged eventually. I was thinking of putting extra seats where the toilet and storage box are and leaving the whole right rear of the van for storage and a Dometic style cooler/top opening refrigerator.
Materials, adhesives, etc, offgassing? Respiratory safe? VOC's etc. Green and non toxic? Modern safe standards in these matters? Also will you provide schematics and photos of substructure? Very clean and like everyone says, a really nice presentation.
A fully loaded 2024 Transit Trail now is at least w/o the crazy Dealer Markup of $5k-$12k. Many dealers are way overstocked on them. $70k-$77k depending on options incl del/destination at about $2k. Many dealers now waving the licensing, destination fees and a loaded one out the door is $75k. The debate is if the extra $12k is worth it for the Trail kit. Best source if you are in the NW US is Newberg (Oregon) Ford. This Gone Mobile Van is the dream van for an unmarried guy. Many are too 'old lady' vibe with plaids and flowers lol.
Can this be done in a mid roof Ford or Dodge, add a 3rd swiveling belted seat behind the driver, put like 3 loop rings inside the entery door cubby area to attach dog leashes with a carabiner or something, swop the side of the shower so it's closer to the rear so the second rear shower isn't really needed (less plumming), how much to replace the battery (when it gets depleated and is that service offered), add a tall almost to roof hanging closset (even if it has a compartment at the bottom for a pull out toilet storage) next to the bed, add in floor L-track or tie-down points, and can the bed be made to 70"x30" folding set to one side sleeping long ways (not sideways) with a flip up flap/support kinda like a Murphy bed to hold the mattress with a storage shelf in the cutout instead of a mattress spacer, and the other cabinet made slimmer with a bit more storage compartments? Does it have a water filtration to att something like a rain water collector to the roof. Ballpark $?
At 8:30 of your video you feature your toilet box, how did you get the toilet into the box? I bought the box and toilet and can't seem to get it into the box. Can you please help?
really nice! imo the shower curtain would just be a mess. on my boat I took a natures head and dropped a German made submersible pump that fits down the opening to the urinal. generally it only needs to be emptied once a day with 2 people. obviously on a boat I can discharge overboard in most situations. in a van having a holding tank for urine only and the poo being composted is the best imo. about once a month I soak the urinal in vinegar overnight. the pump is still running strong after 2 years. someone needs to invent a composting toilet with this feature built in.
I think we were neighbors in East Side Costa Mesa! If you have an extended length Mercedes Sprinter van. If it was you (guy in video), I think you had one then got a new one. Used to see you pull onto Westminster St. when I was walking my dog and envied you for having such an awesome rig.
Pretty “industrial” feel and look. The build quality is tip top… design though…. I invite viewers to search Tulum inspired Concrete Oasis DREAM van… what these DIY folks did is over the top impressive. I have viewed tons of builds and this DREAM van is by far the best!!!
thats a cool van for people who never have used a van before and dont realize how stupid that design is. Concrete in a van lol. My god the influencer crowd is so fucking dumb.
If I might nitpick a little bit, I think I'd want a backsplash directly behind the sink instead of that fabric up about 18 inches or so maybe to that second set of buttons even with the deep sink
Have you ever made a winter ready ford transit? I’ve been looking at the airstream range line and wondering if you could make something comparable in the trail
Mine Mercades van is for sale at Rossmonster and this rig was built to go to Alaska literally but due to Covid shutting down the border the original owner only had 20 miles when I got it two years ago now it only has a little over 44k and is very off grid battery last 8 to 10 plus it charges from the alternator while driving plus 430 watts solar panels on roof check out the Leadville under used vans
Are Ford engineers unable to design an integrated antenna or is do they have stock in the antenna replacement vendor? Those things get wrecked by branches and just look goofy. The rig overall is really impressive. Nice work.
The 2024 version is more interesting than the previous one, but two things I don't like are the pitifully small fridge (requiring a portable one for drinks) and the van-length footboard. In my opinion, it should be replaced either with a mechanical one (as it used to be on carriages) or an electric one by activating it with a button from the van.
Love these vans as will be happy if they offer the toilet box for sale someday. As I know it will be expensive in the range of $2,000 plus due to the cost of the parts alone.
Awesome van, not over stuffed with a lot of unnecessary things!✌️ What if you don't have access to a pressured hose? Is there a gravity feed? Also, what's the water capacity? Safe to say a true 4 season build?
It’s been so great watching your Transit Trail build videos! We should have a Trail soon, and your channel has provided the most detailed info about the Transit suspension and other options. Question: did you need to do any modifications when adding the Fox adjustable shocks since the trail already has a body lift? Also, did you install shock relocation brackets on the Trail or do any other suspension tweaks? Thanks!
We did also add the shock relocation brackets to this build. There is already an add on plate to move the stock shocks up higher on the Trail, so we removed that, cut the shock mounts and installed the VC brackets. Way better.
Have ford solved the transmission failure problems? Virtually everyone has transmission failure by 80,000 according to multiple owners i have talked to.
It's personal preference, doesn't have anything to do with price. Most people would rather have the extra space for something else. Putting a shower in a van can cost as little as $400
Such as bad ass Van. Are people able to get Rv style financing from a bank on these type Vans? Or is the purchase just like a normal car loan style 4 or 5 yrs?
An RV loan is higher interest and longer term, I don't think the lender cares if it meets a strict IRS definition of an RV. The IRS definition is that it has to have sleeping, cooking and toilet facilities. I doubt anyone has ever been audited. For a toilet, a porta-potty probably counts. If you have to go for the higher interest rate, at least you can deduct it. My thought process is that I want to have insurance on the value of a RV not just the van and didn't want to mix and match descriptions. Maybe I'm over thinking it.
Honestly, that shower is a really good idea. And almost everything else is on point. There are a few things, for me personally, that I would delete… But there isn’t really anything missing. I feel like maybe it’s a little short on storage, but I’m also not considering the storage under the benches so that makes me a dick, lol. But, if you need more storage, there’s all that space under the bed. I am dying to hear how much this is though. but seriously, very good job. I will never buy from one of the big manufacturers again. Either a self build or a smaller company like yours, because companies like yours give a shit. And yes, I am looking/shopping :-).
Very cool! I've called many dealers and they are saying the still cannot order a Transit Trail? How did you get yours? I hope this isn't a situation where Ford is just selling them to builders "to then sell" as I want to upgrade my Promaster and build out a Trail!
You can absolutely order a Trail. Our local dealer just placed an order last week for a mutual client. Some dealerships just don't deal with these vans very often, so don't know all the ins and outs.
Bought a new AWD T250 Transit. The AWD system was horrible. Overheated constantly and shook in reverse horribly. Ford wouldn't fix it. Only had about 8,000 miles on it when it started having issues.
It probably could be cooled with 8K. I guess I think that more capacity is better than not enough. It also depends on your climate/where you spend your time.
looked cool until the back of the van was wasted empty space. I saw no table. I would have preferred shorter boxes in the back and the bed turning into benches. you'd still have room for the aisle storage when driving.

Amazing work . Thank you for the videos
Great van for young outdoorsy people.
I'm 70 and I had a hard time getting in and out of it and it was so cramped. Definitely made for young or agile older folks. 😂
This van is even more awesome in person!
What a crazy van! Love it! We have a Promaster so it’s fun to see the other van conversions in different van models!
Most awesome build yet👍🏻👍🏻

another great Gone Mobile build
Made me wish I was better at working with metal. Shower idea is ingenious.
really well thought out build, and great attention to detail!
So much information! That was a fantastic presentation, sir. The build quality and detail put into this van are incredible, and your team thought of everything. I also really like the look of that new Transit.

What an awesome build. The only thing missing I can see is a Lagun table and assume it will be added before going to the customer. Love your videos.
Mine is for sale on Rossmonster page The Leadville really nice set up in almost perfect condition
Stunning build, great work. We currently have a class b on the transit and its by far my favorite chassis.. Love the layout. If it were just a tad less expensive i'd trade in our van for this. Kudos!
love this van lay out
It’s a nice setup. My cons is the cabinet doors. The wood and grey doesn’t work for me I’d prefer a frosted plexiglass. I also need a bigger oven.
