27 inch iMac 5K review! This is the base model from 2017! I have had this computer for about 3 months now and I am finally ready for a review of the desktop. This is my full take on the device. Just bought this exact iMac in 2020 and it’s great so far. Wish this TH-camr didn’t insult women by saying they’d have a hard time picking up the computer. One, it is light. Two, women aren’t weaklings.
Would this imac be good for highschool/college students who will use it for homework,projects,powerpoints and do a few editing with videos and pictures ??

I loved the iMac I had, it was 21.5in tho but the screen was gorgeous and the speakers were insane. But for me, I need to be able to take my creations on the go and Had to go MacBook
Tony A. yeah I understand! This one is very stationary the MacBook can travel everywhere making it way more versatile! I guess it really depends if one stays at home a lot or travels around a lot!
On the fusion drive, how is it divided? How much of the 1TB is SSD and how much is it HD?
My Favorite Vegan bro, I know the 2015 model was only like 24gb of SSD 👎. I’m not sure how the 2017 is configured but I’d bet it’s similar.

My iMac is 10 years old and I think I am going to buy a new one. If I buy the base model 27 in 2017 iMac, should I upgrade the 1 terabyte Fusion drive to a 256 SSD? It will be about $100 more from what I see on the refurbished list.

Only 1 thing I think is doubtful🤔: pc that is gonna last you 5-10 years. This thing is only a 7th gen i5. 4 cores, 4 threads. It has no upgrade path for either cpu or gpu. Even in 2017 it looked very mediocre compared to a Ryzen system. 8 cores /16 threads will also be on the intel mainstream platform soon. 5 years seems like a stretch. And 10 years seem impossible. Maybe I'm wrong. We will see in 5 years 😅
My I Mac 27 inch is an 2009 and still working great, and never had to get it fixed like a Crap PC, I will be getting a New I Mac this year with a 3 TB Fusion Drive and will be upgrading with 2 16 Gigs Memory plus the 8 it already has, So 40 Gigs , I am buying a Fujifilm GFX Medium Format Camera that is 51 Megapixels so the Files are Super Big like over 100 MB each
