    Apple continues to make computers with stunning performance and features. I have a late 2013 13" macbook pro with retina display and it's by far the best laptop I've ever owned. I'm a small mobile DJ and school student and I think it's incredibly powerful. None of my computers have gone this long without running into an issue or loss of speed. I have 8GB RAM, 256GB of flash storage, and an Intel i5 processor. I don't have to worry about viruses and such. This is my first mac ever and I'm glad I made the switch!

      ***** Nice! that's one reason why I got mine. My high school has a digital arts lab that uses iMacs. I don't know exactly what year they are but if they plan to get rid of them soon, they should get the new iMacs with the 5K retina display.

    Beautiful, fast, and reasonably priced (when you take into account the display, and all of the hardware built in). I simply adore Apple products. Not only is the computer itself nice, but the packaging simply stellar. You won't see that with any other manufacturer

      "reasonably priced"?? Yeah, not really.. Apple products are many things, stylish, easy to use, etc.. But reasonably priced is not one of them! Just listen to what he said at 5:05! $217 for a reasonably priced ram upgrade, vs $600 which is what Apple charges for basically the same thing.

    • @animusfoxx6965
      @animusfoxx6965 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mean the base model, and I'm also taking into account the 5k display, which by the way, would be sold for more money by Samsung, except without a computer attached

    Nice, thanks. Although the sheer 5k resolution for details and UI is impressive, and very useful for us who do video, animation and design - I think one of the best qualities of any Retina display is the calmness of flat colours. When looking at a bright background on an old school display, I can actually notice the RGB dots that it's made of. It's making me tired. When the first Retina iPhone came, then the MacBook Pro etc. this became a thing of the past. It's much less tiresome to look at a Retina display.

    And still some (uneducated and biased) people call these overpriced and crap. Try to buy a 4K 27 inch display with anywhere near the image quality you get from this 5K in the 2500 dollar base model, and you'll pay about 1500 dollars for it....and then the rest of the components, about as much too, plus you won't get a design and quality you get from an imac in a PC. I have a PC, but only because of games, if I didn't game, I'd get an iMac hands down. It's simply better, and much faster and fluid than a PC anywhere near the price.

      Sure the 5K display is great but 27" 4k monitors are not $1500, Asus and Samsung both have 4k 27" monitors for around $500, besides the components in the $2500 one aren't exactly great, core i5, 8gb ram, and 2gb of dedicated graphics, with only 2gb of graphics you cant expect much at 5k.

      If you want to beat this Mac, you will need:
      -5K display (The only supplier is Dell. Which theirs is $2500. The same cost of the iMac retina)
      -Keyboard
      -Mouse
      -An actual computer
      That will cost about $3000.

    To everyone that says: "$2500? I can build a better computer than this crapMac.'' I DARE you to compete with this Mac. What you will need is:
    -5K display (The only supplier is Dell. And their 5K display is $2499)
    -Keyboard
    -Mouse
    -Computer
    Which is over $3000.

    • @heyitshunter98
      @heyitshunter98 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      AnimeBeefRandoms That still doesn't really compete. As the iMac is 5K. Versus 4K.

    • @AnimeBeefRandoms
      @AnimeBeefRandoms 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hunter Tyree 5k doesn't really matter because 4k is the upcoming standard (4 x 1080p) vs 5k (4 x 1440p).

    • @heyitshunter98
      @heyitshunter98 10 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      AnimeBeefRandoms My point is: If you want to compete with this thing, you'll have to downgrade to a 4K monitor. Now that may not seem much. But the Mac uses a 5K display. PCs have been known to offer the same as a Mac. But for cheaper. That's not the case here. The iMac not only offers a high-res 5K 27-inch screen, but also a computer to use the monitor. The iMac beats the Dell 5K monitor in Value.

    • @AnimeBeefRandoms
      @AnimeBeefRandoms 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hunter Tyree The iMac doesn't even have the color depth
      forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1803158
      It's not a professional monitor and the computer attached to it isn't a fast enough to be a professional set up either.
      The $1399 31 inch 4k monitor from LG does have the color depth and is a real professional monitor. Add that to a Mac pro or a Custom PC and you'll get a real pro setup.

    • @ShadoutMusicOfficial
      @ShadoutMusicOfficial 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      AnimeBeefRandoms not fast enough? my man mac pro's where that fast 2years ago, and professionals where doing magic on 800mhz back in the days, what made you think this is not fast enough? what is the standard of "fast enough"? and about the colour depth, its not like you would notice 30 vs 24 bit depth, its 24 bits are just enough to make shit happen neatly and keep price as low as possible which is actually a smart move

      @NatureShy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      True, PCs can have better specs with faster speeds, more customizability, and more storage, but Apple computers use a better operating system, come with free office apps, are less likely to acquire viruses or malware (because of a smaller market), is more reliable and longer lasting, comes with better trackpad gestures, and looks more aesthetically pleasing, both from the aluminum polished external looks and the operating system itself.
      Not to mention that they are the industry standard for graphic design and art students, and professionals in the field.
      You will never convince us to use Windows because we prefer using OS X. The user experience is more enjoyable, more intuitive, and more aesthetically pleasing (which is why Macs appeal so much to art and design students). And trust me, I've used both Windows 7 and Windows 10. I used to be a hardcore Windows/PC person before I made the switch three years ago. Since then, I have not had the many crashing, malware, and slower/buggy computer experience that I had with Windows 7. My old PC was a i7, 4gb, video editing laptop valued at $1,300. My current MacBook Pro costed $2,300, 8GB, Quad-core, i7, 2.3ghz, Retina display, dual graphics cards (one of which is an NVidia G-force card) and I don't regret making the switch. In fact, the only remorse I have is not opting for the 16GB version.

    The hardware specs of this is not bad at all.
    CPU: i5-4690K or i7 4790K (IMO is a waste, I don't think you can overclock the CPU with the motherboard in this iMac.....)
    RAM: DDR3 1600 from 8GB - 32GB
    GPU: R9M290X or 295X
    IMO it is *reasonably priced* for an *Apple Product*.

      Please me give an example then.
      It has to mmet the following requirements:
      Has a Quad Core CPU
      Has at least 8GB RAM
      Has a GPU that can outpower the R9M290X
      Has a 1TB Fusion Drive
      And 5K Resolution
      Good luck.

      What the hell are you talking about? You can get a wired keyboard with a number pad instead if you don't want the wireless keyboard. You have the option to pick keyboard when you set all your other features before checkout, and who needs the number pad anyway? What are you, an accountant?

    • @coldisopropyl
      @coldisopropyl 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** sincerely I think the keyboard with number pad is much better. No need to change batteries. Keys are not that packed.

    • @darkenedlight4818
      @darkenedlight4818 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The keys on both keyboards are spaced exactly the same. If you're using the Apple rechargeable batteries you really don't need to change them out that often. It's not that much different except the wireless keyboard is probably more convenient for some people and the number pad is more convenient for others.

      Most people don't even have 4K screens yet and since sites like TH-cam don't support resolutions like 5K, how do you expect it to be "amazingly beneficial"? Sure you can have a little crisper text but when it comes to playing games or watching videos where resolution really matters, not yet.Norman the Owl

      Respected Fella As for specs, yes. Any PC that costs half as much as the iMac could have the same if not better specs. As far as features go, pretty much any feature that the iMac has is either on PC too or can be replicated on a PC using a different program. Nothing on a Mac really stands out enough to justify it's $2000 price tag.

    • @finlx
      @finlx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshu Thomas Your first point is a matter of opinion. For example, i like a computer with cool red lights on it. Your second point however is just wrong. I never once said that "Apple knows nothing about technology". I said that a person of that description is apples ideal customer.

      @joshuthomas3640 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +finlx I don't understand technology because I'm an Apple customer, huh! Isn't that supposed to mean that Apple don't understand technology!
      Yes I'm an Apple customer and it is because I love their devices. And I love their devices because I love its design and technology used.

    • @finlx
      @finlx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Joshu Thomas No, I'm saying that Apple know how to take advantage of selling their out of date technology.
      Do you love their technology because it is vintage? That's quite common, i have seen many people buy floppy discs, cassette tapes, apple devices etc so I understand.
