Love your videos. Can't wait to see when you get this and your review of it. One thing in particular is how well the dock cleaning keeps the actual dock clean and how easy it is to manually clean. I believe the older Roborock self cleaning docks all had issues with build up of dirt but it has been steadily getting better. So will be interesting how this has improved for this dock.
@@jamie.andrews it will! By the way, this may not be exact, but I think the internal water tank is most likely 200 mL and the dustbin is 350 mL, as it appears to have the same dust bin as the Q Revo Series.
By the way, The Dustbin size for the S8 Max series is 270 mL (probably because of all of the mechanisms, but not to worry, the S8 Max series can return to empty mid-clean), and the internal water tank size is an even smaller 100 mL. Not sure why they keep decreasing the size...
I'm excited to see what this new model has to offer. I bought S7MaxV Ultra last year, and I must say, the quality has been rock-solid. I've been more than satisfied with its performance, especially its HyperForce Suction. It effortlessly tackles dirt and debris, leaving my floors looking spotless. It's truly a game-changer for maintaining a clean home without any compromise. Moreover, the intelligence of the S7MaxV Ultra in avoiding obstacles is remarkable. I just bought S8 Pro Ultra and there is a new upgrade model coming soon? But i'm actully quite interested in the corner-to-edge cleaning. Wondering if i should return the machine i just bought and wait for this new one?
Looks like they took some notes from the Dreame L20 Ultra, which I recently got and I’m loving. It’s so great to see these brands implementing some very nice features as of late. I wish iRobot would catch up soon, they seem a bit behind compared to these other brands
@@jamie.andrews I’d have to agree. I did try their combo j9+ a couple months ago, and it was decent, but I had to return it because of issues. Instead of getting a replacement, I took the chance with the Dreame L20 Ultra and I think I made the right decision. iRobot needs to make changes if they want me as a customer again.

So here's a list of things I was considering as factors that could be worth it..please let me know if you think any move the needle enough for you (knowing the disaster that was the X8). Thanks again for your time and response, much appreciated! 1. 8,000 Pa vs 5,300 Pa - we have high pile carpet in a few rooms so this would be helpful. 2. Mop pads are pentagon-shaped to reduce gap(s) and they lift 12mm off the ground where Dreame's are circular and only lift 7mm. That extra 5mm could also be helpful with high pile carpet. 3. LED for better nighttime cleaning, which we have ours running every night and hear some banging every now and then. 4. Camera is protected via cyber security standards and doesn't save images (Dreame doesn't claim this). 5. Sometimes I don't know what the Dreame is doing regarding its movement...moving in random ways for no reason while vacuuming. 6. Eufy's current discount puts the X10 at the same price I paid for the Dreame - $600. Might be silly but brand new tech for the same price as an "older" machine sounds appealing, but I know that doesn't always mean it's a "better deal" due to the performance being an unknown!!

I'd say it is still a bit of a risk since there are no reviews for the Eufy. I hope to have mine soon. I often get asked about recommendation about robots for people and everyone has different needs and wants. Yours are valid and while I am not certain those make a huge difference for me they certainly can for others like yourself . I tend to just review the robots and let people come to their own conclusions. I'm sorry I can't give you more info. It is just a guess until I can review the Eufy.

This is very cool. I actually just purchased the S7 Pro ultra. It’s coming tomorrow. I was able to snag it on sale for about 700. Obviously this new one is much better and has a lot more tech. However, Its price point is out of my reach for now, but based on your review settled on grabbing the S7 pro ultra and I don’t think I regret grabbing it on sale. Thanks for the vids friend.

Being a regular reviewer of robot vacs, this one looks like a corker. My current S8 Pro Ultra is the most reliable vac I've ever used. It just works every time. Looking forward to my review test sample.
You likely bought the S8 Pro on sale. This won't be realsed until April and I have not had a chance to review it just yet. If you want the latest and greatest and cost is no concern and you can wait then return it. I expect the obstacle avoidance to be much better, but again I have not tested it.

I just found out it has no hot water mopping which is a shame for a flagship bot. That feature has come out for a while on the Ecovacs T30 and P10s Pro(Q Revo) in China
@@jamie.andrews The hot water comes straight from the dock to the internal container of the bot. Indeed there is no heating element inside the bot to retain the heat as it would consume too much battery. Still better than nothing I guess
@@seaneckhart9914 The hot water does not make it into the robot. Once these robots leave the dock there is no hot water mop washing as the onboard water tanks get room temp water only.
The “pet snap” is… interesting. Personally, I don’t consider the option to take pictures of my pets a significant requirement shopping for a robot vacuum
Don't fret too much friend. Same thing happened to me. Just bought the S7 Max Ultra (not MaxV) right before this was announced. There will always be something better, but that doesn't make an older model worse. Be confident with your purchase!
@Aerith17 oh no, my Melinda (Dreame L20 Ultra), is perfect, and will be for years to come. But I would've preferred some of the benefits of this model. At some point clean is clean. There's no such thing as "More Clean". The difference is how we achieve this.
I have the S8 Pro Ultra for 2 months, is nice but I had to cover my mirrors 15cm on the bottom side and on corners is not that great. S8 MaxV would be perfect but I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade
I use S8 and one thing i needs most is some way to remove hair from rollers sides. It is extremely easy to do it manually, but i need to go to my vacum every two weeks because there is too many of them :/ Or maybe i should leave it there to see what happens...
I would keep removing the hair. It it builds up it could cause drag on the roller motors. Every robot I have reviewed gets hair wrapped around the rollers.
every 2 weeks lol woow such a 1 min work to do in that frequency. If you are expecting these robots to be fully hands-off you are having a completely wrong expectation
@@xeon2k8 I whould prefer to interact with the robot a few times a year, because why not? That is the direction we are all heading and that's one of the weakest links in time saving solutions. Time is priceless. I think this hair is one of the concerns producers should focus on in the nearest future.

Id say yes IMO since you can't buy these Roborock models until April, however the new Dreame X30 Ultra is very impressive and will go on sale in February. I am starting to test it now and will put a short video out soon.
It looks like the same problem I have with S7 MaxV Ultra, is going to be on this new vacuum. I never refill the water tank on the vacuum on my own, because it auto fills it, but today, I was looking at the cashback offer, and cleaning it up for pictures, and there is brown build up or mold/mildew in the tank! So I have been cleaning my floors with dirty water! gross! I have found the same brown mildew in my clean water tank too, but Today is the first time I even looked at the vacuum's water tank. Please come out with a better solution to add to the Roborock products! It says you are only allowed to use Roborock cleaning solution, so now I don't know what to do!
This has more to do with your water quality. My water quality is very good and I never heave the buildup and water sits in my tanks for a long time due to lack of using only one robot at a time. The new S8 MaxV comes with a silver ion block installed in the clean water tank which is said to help cut down on this. This will be a problem with any robot you use. The only option is using distilled water or buy a silver ion block.
Oh a silver ion block! Thanks for the info! I will also try reverse osmosis, which is my drinking water. Otherwise my tap water is already clean, I will try my reverse osmosis anyways.

Wow that's a pretty insane robo-vac. The only thing that would concern me is the fact that there are more and more moving parts, which could mean lower longevity. Then again... if you're spending $1600+ on a robo-vac, then what's another $1600 3 years from now. Hahahaha.
What would recommend for me? My apartment is virtually all carpet so mopping isn't a priority, I have a dogs so something that's the best in class for actually vacuuming and id also like something with an auto empty station. Also I can't get the Q revo here so please don't recommend that 😊
Take a look at the Q8 Max Plus is you want basic object avoidance (Most pet owners want that) and the Q5 Pro Plus if you don't want object avoidance. amzn.to/3NX8DtQ
They don't have a NDA and they send out Marketing materials before launch. I knew about these models in December, but I keep quiet. IRobot is a different story though as they don't really work with influencers.

The L20 is very advanced way more so than iRobot models. The only thing going for iRobot is their name and being owned by Amazon.

It does have hot water mop washing. I am not aware of any robot that has hot water mopping which would require the robot to internally heat water.

What would recommend for me? My apartment is virtually all carpet so mopping isn't a priority, I have a dogs so something that's the best in class for actually vacuuming and id also like something with an auto empty station. Also I can't get the Q revo here so please don't recommend that 😊

Why is roborock and iRobot so bad at keeping secrets
They don't have a NDA and they send out Marketing materials before launch. I knew about these models in December, but I keep quiet. IRobot is a different story though as they don't really work with influencers.
Don't fall for it, I bought the qrevo and regret it.
