@@RienRocks No, it's not. I tested both spaded. Those are the speeds at sea level. With oil radiators manually closed. It makes no sense that the D would be faster given that they have the same engine and the D has more drag.
Today I had a rate fight with a F-100D. My chineese F-100A won this duel easily. F-100D have a new wing with additional mass for strike capabilities but it has the same engine, so lighter F-100A has much better performance in a dogfight.
6:04 Clarification: The E and B share the same maximum fin angle of 9.9 degrees. But since the E has a better maximum tracking gimble of 40 degrees to the B's 25, it feels a bit better when it has to lead targets over distance. The reduced drag from the pointed nose cone also helps 👍
@@dontworry2379 no youre just bad, its really fucking good. choose your targets, never full turn, keep speed over 800km/h and stay away from a10 and su25 and use the aim9e well its a superb missile. easy 70 to 80% win rate

Aim is good to have but it won't get you far being good at having awareness at all times and placing your aircraft the right place will give you all the advantages needed some jets of course do it better but you can do it all aircraft at all br's. It takes time to get good. And once that happens the game is just fun.
Current matchmaker is screawing up most of older jets without flares. But 9.3 isn't most horrible place, rarely there are downtiers. The most stinky place to be right now is 9.7-10.0 as you almost always end up at 10.7.
When I was grinding the American tree for the first time, the F-4E was the top tier and I had unlocked the F-100D and played it once... and never played it again. The thing is a complete brick. I came back to the plane just yesterday because I was messing around and somehow got like 3 kills in an uptier, I don't know if it was because I was stock or because the plane is just bad, but people literally had to fly directly in front of my guns to get killed by me. The guns are pretty good, but getting them on target was the worst imaginable experience. I probably won't play the plane any time soon. I do agree, the "rudder-wobble" on this plane is pretty bad, but one of my most played planes is the Kfir Canard, so nothing really compares to that.
@@GeneralLee2000 I ground out most of my American jets with the F-100D, by bombing bases. This was of course, before the A-10 was introduced. Back then, I remember getting uptiered into MiG-21's all the freakin time, hence I was so outclassed in performance, bombs were my only effective way to get points every match. 10x500lb for normal maps, 8x750lb for EC maps. After unloading my bombs, race for home. If my teams still up, load another rack. If I'm last player standing, J out. If it's down to 2v1 or 2v2, then I've loaded up missiles to help win. My first ever missile kill, on the other hand, was a Sea Vixen, Definitely saved that screenshot.
I see your Kfir Canards useless rudder and I raise you one Great British Scimitar. That bad boy has rudder control issues that make the Horten laugh at it.

Finally just got this plane. Was avoiding it cause lack of 9Es but seeing as it got them now and I love the look of Super Sabres I finally finished off the RP for it. Stock hasn’t been fun but really when is it. The 20s are nice, I love having four of them.
My 9.3 matchmaker in the F3H recently was probably about 80-90% uptiers I actually preferred uptiers though because if you get a downtier you have to carry a team full of Skyhawks against Mig19s, Mig21s, F104s, Arietes, etc and that is not great
I've been having a lot of fun with the f100d recently. When I got it I remembered it having balsa wood wings that loved to just pop right off in any and all turns. I dont have the problem these days. It still sucks sometimes but it just so fun to fly.
@@GeneralLee2000 just tested it, seems to have been corrected, but right after they changed the AB trust multiplier the French one was still making only about ~5500 kgf trust while all the others were at the new ~8300 kgf as they changed the trust multiplier on AB from 1.01 to 1.3. Playing the mig19 at 9.3 is painful. You get missiles that can barely pull and have pitiful range, you get knocked out really fast when turning, even with a maxed g resistance and tolerance stat, and you are slower than basically everything other than a few planes like the ariete harrier and some bombers
since you mentioned the french f8e. I would love to see a change to that thing because the f8e is such a nice plane but with no flares it is a verry hard plane to fly. i would love a change so that it gets missles
9.3 matchmaker. As a Lightning pilot, I only get uptiers. In the occasional downtier I get, I wipe the floor. In an uptier, it is impossible to get more than one kill.

@@kazsmazI’d like to contend your point that the Red Tops are bad. The Firestreak does indeed suck donkey dick but the red top is a different beast. You just have to use it for what it was designed for; high altitude interception. Because it’s so heavy it hates being launched at anything below 4km alt only having a range of 2km (ish) at low alt rear aspect. But take that bad boy up high? My longest range kill with a red top was a hair under 5.5km. If it hits it WILL kill, it manoeuvres reasonably well for a 8-9br missile. The best part is it’s limited all aspect. Not as much of a game changer now that it shares a BR bracket with A-10 and SU-25 but against supersonic targets you can lock and fire just over 1km in a head on. My only complaint with the red top on lightening is I only get 2 vs the 4 on the Sea Vixen.

Especially when I personally play stuff like the Lightning and MiG-19, they have such a performance advantage that I never really considered. Howrver, that Chinese tech tree looks very appealing....
tested both F100D and F100A extensively the past 3 days. The F100A is better plane by a good margin. Faster (you never ever reach the max top speed of the F100D in a game), better acceleration by a mile, more nimble, better energy retention too.
About the French F-8FN, it does not get flares because during its service in the French Navy, it never received the counter measures modification. While they were based off the F-8E's, they were not identical. They received multiple modifications to the angle of the wings, and also flaps to operate out of the shorter Clemenceau, had changes to the avionics, different sized stabilizators, and also a better radar. They were used as interceptors only, and their lack of air-to-ground ordnance in WT is due to the fact that the french F-8's that had this capability, were modernized into the F-8P standard. Sure I would love that the F-8FN had flares, but unfortunately I do not think that it will get that luxury, nor I think gaijin will lower its BR with Magics to anything other than 10.0.
It should totally have them, they can fit, and Gaijin has equipped weapons or flares to vehicles which never used them before because they were compatible. Perfect example is the F-5C, which is a modified F-5A. It never used countermeasures, but the pods were compatible so they gave it

Well... I accidentally got a chneese A-5C, so first supersonic fighter i've got was an F-100A. And I enjoy it very well. It has OK guns, OK missles, OK engine and OK maneurability. It's definitely not a F-5, but F-100A is a decent fighter. Once you spared your AIM-9E's, you still can bonk someone) BTW i dunno how, but I can recall that I dodged some AIM-9L's from A-10 on a front aspect...
I'm glad I'm not the only one with a soft spot for the F-100. Like yeah objectively it's not very good, but I somehow can make it work haha. Besides, it carried me through US jets for a while :)

Alright, I unlocked the 100D a couple nights ago and I've got probably 8 or so matches in it. First match I get absolutely smacked by an R3R despite thinking I notched the lock, a superb start to a new plane right? After that it's actually been quite successful, even got a few 4 kill matches and what not. Definitely hanging out for the 9Es cause the 9Bs are just so limited🙃 So as stock grinds go, far from the worst I've had😂
Look I know it sucks not have flares and chaff but you can still Dodge those missiles if you roll one direction and have the missile change is direction and roll back the other way and pull if you what you're doing should be no issue. But I agree it sucks dealing with them.

The D was a fighter-bomber variant. Its modifications were mostly just intended to counteract the weight increases and correct some flight characteristics, not make it into a better dogfighter.
I do like a lot of 9.3 planes, but a lot of 8.3-9.0 planes suffer because of the f-104, mig-19 and all the other mach capable jets going significantly faster and have much more energy generation than the non-after burning jets. Assuming an f-104 plays it right against anyone in an 8.7 jet, the 8.7 is going to have a tough time getting any energy until the f-104 runs out of fuel, and no 8.7 can dog fight a mig-19 (let alone run away from) if the mig-19 has any idea of what they are doing. I don't like playing 8.3 to 9.0 jets because of this game play where you are at the mercy of the other player f***ing up so hard, and if you miss your one chance, the other guy learns to not do that again. If this battle rating gets decompressed where I am not fighting an f-104 and mig 19 without some kind of threat against them, I don't see late non-after burning jets getting popular any time soon. When was the last time you saw a russian mig17?

The F-100A definitely handles better than the D, you can probably tell from the video. I only use the D for CAS now.

Engine performance buff made a big difference too, can actually rate fight some planes without dumping all speed in a single turn

I'd recommend giving it a go! I had a surprisingly good time in it.

104A is lighter and has a better TWR, so is better IMO. But the C has an RWR which can be useful
