- The F-100F is just another event vehicle in a string of poor air event rewards, albeit better (slightly) than the previous two. Gaijin seems to absolutely adore two seater aircraft!

The F-100F, just like all other recent event rewards for Air, is a CAS aircraft for ground players who don't play Air (so they don't have the F-100A or Q-5A/L). It's just a 2nd ground reward at this point....
Would really love for once to get an air reward for air players that is actually viable and decent (Skyray was interesting, but just as DoA due to premium attackers with all aspects). The last actual decent air reward for Air players was the Kfir C.2 from almost 2 years ago now....
Yeah it's pretty awful tbh that the event vehicles have been so heavily weighted towards ground battles, I mean this event has 3 vehicles that are primarily focused on ground battles, and that's probably only because they can't make a ship for ground battles yet.
They pretty much stated this like 2-3 years ago in a Q/A. They stated they want a more combined arms focused game now. I keep telling my CC buddies this but nobody seems to grasp that they simply dont care about Air anymore as much as they used to.

F-107, F-20, MiG-23-98, Mirage G, Mirage F-2… there are TONS of cool aircraft that would be perfect event material
mirages and mig23 wouldnt be that interesting tbh, we alr have many of those
@@Timotij777 Mirage G is a completely different aircraft than all Mirages in game, it has variable geometry wings. The MiG-23-98 is an MLD with modern avionics comparable to the MiG-29, imho it’s also a very interesting aircraft

@@Timotij777 we have 5 MiG-23s, but 2 of them fly quite differently (M and Mf) from the 23-98, and in general imho it would be fun to see how a MiG-23 with modern missiles stacks up against other 4th gen fighters.
Besides it’s still waaaay better than a su25 or a fat F-100

I think Gaijin knows if they give the event a good vehicle, people are going to complain about how god awful the event grinding is, which is a completely fair complaint. Their options are to either keep giving us shitty vehicles so that we don't feel pressured into grinding, or make the event vehicles easier to get.
They could have made this a pretty cool testing platform as it was the US' first Wild Weasel aircraft.
It could have been given AGM-45 Shrikes as a testing aircraft for Anti-radiation Missiles. Instead we got it in the Chinese tree as what is basically a copy paste F-100D, great job.
There are so many wacky cold war prototype jet aircraft they could add yet they choose to add slightly differing variants of aircraft we already have in the TT, it's just disappointing and feels extremely lazy.
My only guess as to why we keep on getting twin seaters of already existing jets is because it's easier for Gaijan to take an already existing vehicle and remodel it into an twin seater
About A-7K....They've cut the integrated 20mm's ammo in half and it's still 11.0 in air rb...I'd better loose 9Ls but fly at 10.7 or lower.
1:27 I use the thermal targeting pod with the agm-65b to make up for the lack of thermals in the Maverick b's. So far still pretty effective.
A-7 or SU-25 for the next event, or we riot
Fun thing about F-100F is that it could have been interesting vehicle. Only thing they had to do was add it to US tech tree with AGM-45 shrike...

F 106 would be dope as a event vehicle.
I really think the T2 needed to go up to 10.0 with the aim-9ps, and I say that from flying it not fighting it, its just more BS from Gaijins refusal to decompress anything. And they are making it worse! Remember they pushed a whole bunch of planes down in BR to stop them fighting the 1st F14. AND they just pushed EVERYTHING in ground from 7.0 to 10.0 up a notch to "Stop cold war tanks fighting WW2 tanks" even though the Swedish tech tree starts at like 1946....
You say the F4D is the last "good" air reward but I don't think that fits the bill for me either. Its a mass production plane that is now paywalled for new players. Id say the BI is the last proper air reward. Not iconic or mass production. A weird prototype with unique gameplay. There are plenty of planes that fit the bill that won't be added any other way.
Fair about the F4D, I more just meant that it was actually unique lol, and not an attacker
Dont forget the JagE has the Giant flare pod on the sides. Over 200 cm on a jaggie makes me use it over the tech tree version.

JagE doesn't have rwr so it is actually worse than tech tree version.
Gaijin could have add F-102 or Avro Arrow but they chose to copy and paste instead.

My guess "Air" rewards are merely baits for Ground players who think they could use new CAS aircraft.
They changed the event time so now you can get 2 main vehicles and i still dont want the plane XD , the tank is at least unique.The last event i can remember where you got something really good was the Obj.279 event in my opinion really sad

I'm fine with having event vehicles be variants of existing vehicles, but I would like to see variants that bring something new to the table. Like if they added the EF-105F; it's based off the F-105, but can carry countermeasures and has the potential to carry anti-radiation missiles. But I also believe that some event vehicles should also be unique and niche, such as the F-107 mentioned in the video. Maybe rotate what vehicle is unique in each event; such as making the tank unique, then the jet, then the naval craft, etc., while adding a variant of an existing vehicle to the others.

I notice that you are using it at mid to low altitude. Considering it has decent missiles and it's battle rating, I wonder if maybe it works better when used similarly to the F11. That is to say, getting decent altitude, initiating a dive to give the missiles plenty of energy, and let them to the work, with guns and turning being plan B.

I actually don't like the idea of adding vehicles like the f4d as event vehicles. anything that was mass produced or entered service should go in the tech tree. I do like prototypes as event vehicles and would love to see the f107 or xf5u in the future, but putting something iconic in but only as an event vehicle sucks.

Its not just that the air rewards are bad, a Majority of Tanks in these events are actually unique, LOSAT, QN506 (F&F Missiles), PT16 Mod T14 adds something new to the german tree and got me to go get the Type 90s too, T72 Moderna even though its a T72 it has a new look and the BMP2 gun, CT-CV 105 HP, BMD4, AGS, T80UM2 was begged for.
Edit: In conclusion, Ground gets better event rewards and I just want something cool for a reward, Id take the F106 as an event reward.

It's been more of a filler update for the most part, but the MLD came in october as well so...
The event Jaguar kinda blows at its BR they have it at right now. Also that Kfir C2 gets stomped on a majority of games you play in it with only 2 AAM even though they are Pythons its still only 2 and you are up against jets with 6 and those jets have a pretty big advantage amount on flares as well. But not gonna lie I do like the F4D-1 these days.

Event rewards are free, sort of. You think Gajin will just give away good stuff for free. Nah, they're saving the good and op vehicles for the p2w crowd which leaves the crappy stuff to become event rewards.

The AIM-9E is the best IR missile at this BR, right? I don’t know if it’d be a great idea to go even better when most other aircraft at the BR are holding 9Bs. Really, 4x 9Es is a pretty great load at 9.3.

I'd rather get cool vehicles in the Tech Tree. Event vehicles are nothing but extra.
Personally I don't want prototypes cluttering up the tech tree, especially when there's normal vehicles they could add instead. Event vehicles are perfect for those!

Personally I’m just grinding the event for the LOSAT, couldn’t care less about any of the others since don’t play naval, don’t have anything for China that needs CAS, and the ki-48 is just uninteresting since i already got the battlepass B7A2 Homare 23

Look on the bright side: if the rewards are crap, you don't have to waste your time on these shitty grindfest events. If anything I hope they keep the rewards in the same vein just so I can keep skipping these events with a clear conscience. Maybe I'd have a different opinion if the events didn't require you to get a second job for 2-3 weeks straight.
This isn't even a fighter. Its a trainer. If the ROC had thrown down with the PRC, they would have thrown them into the fight, but that wasn't their mission. The only thing they mostly carried was practice bombs. But... video game.
Variants are cheap to add to the game because they are just modifications to the models, rigging, and code. --The crafting-- busy work event absolutely sucks.
It's not that the rewards are bad. The grind is excruciatingly long. Even I who plays 2-3 hours almost every day have 0 chance to complete these events without spending actual money on them (which I won't). And now they decided to make it not just long but confusing as well, with this rocket testing bullshit. I never was able to finish any events of this type, not even to get the small reward vehicle. The best I was able to get out them is selling some of the materials on market, so I've gathered around 3 Gaijin Coins in the spam of several YEARS. Absolute waste of time.
Also question: how do you get custom text on kills like "it works for me"

Most of these event vehicles aren't worth the grind, especially the crafting events.
The F100s are sad planes. It is the plane i have played the most and in the hands of an experienced pilot it can be deadly. Especially in a downtier where aim9bs are actually ok. Also the 20mms are really nice compared to Defa 30mms.
with only 2 guns i would take DEFA 30mm than the 20mm

From Gaijin's own website, they don't have offices in Russia, which means unless their employees were traveling across borders every day to get to work most of their staff doesn't live in Russia and doesn't have to worry about being conscripted into the army or fleeing to other countries.
