If a drone costing 5 million dollars with no onboard crew does the job of an attack helicopter costing 25 million dollars with 2 crew. Then even if it's twice as likely to be shot down, it's still a bargain.
Especially as the operator who has had time and money spent on his or her training, is still alive to fly another mission. Airforces rarely run out of planes before they have run out of experienced pilots.
The guy shills for the z!0s, of course he will downplay the bayraktar products efficacy. In his next video he talk about how Israel's drones are a lot better and therefore more suitable🤡
If a weather balloon costing 5 dollars scares the sh*t out of NATO, imagine what will happen if that balloon will have a chip from a washing machine and a shovel onboard?
TB 2 is pretty successful in conducting surveillance on Polish eastern border, but thinking it would be invulnerable to anti air defence is nothing more than wishful thinking.
In most cases however the rockets to shoot them down are equally or even more expensive when considering that an army defending against a drone attack has to deploy multiple rockets in order to increase the chance to hit a drone!
Their vulnerability to air defence can slow down an attacking force. If your ground force get decimated without air defence, you need to bring in your air defence to attack. Which can be cumbersome.

There is nothing bad about them but as the video pointed out they are not exceptional. A prepared trained force can deal with them. That was the whole point of the video. Though they look like a total game changer, do not expect them to carry Ukraine to victory from here the Russians have learned.

That's why such videos are produced.

Ah, that sweet Western mindset-they once headlined it as the ‘.Turkish Killer drone.’ Now, the same machine in the Ukraine war has become the ‘drone of hope.’ One day a superhero, the next day worthless. It’s a machine with defined technical specifications; such schizophrenic shifts are quite something.
You do realize there can be many different opinions on a subject right? Why you think everyone in the west shares the same opinion? Thinking someone making a video from the west, means they represent the West as a whole is small minded. One can believe the drone is great and at the same time anither can think it’s useless. It doesn’t mean there’s suddenly a “smear campaign”. It looks like you both for some reason took it personally and got emotional about the video and got very defensive. It’s not that deep.
Said "schizophrenic shifts" are simply the "media cycle" and all the competing establishments in it trying to find the next story that gets the most views/clicks... This has less to do with people's stances on various topics and more to do with revenue. Its like trying to draw complex conclusions about a population based purely on its entertainment consumption. In the west, the media is a product. In many places outside the west, the media is instead the voice of the government. People outside the west expecting coherency out of western media think we are small minded and have no attention span when really western media is simply what happens when groups compete for your attention instead of simply dictating from above. People seem to have a hard time understanding that other people can be raised in vastly different environments and assume way too much about cultures simply based on what leaks out over the web via algorithm.
I'd like to say a few words. First off, it's a fair analysis. There are a few small mistakes but not worth mentioning. TB2 was/is the solution to Turkey's costly counter-terrorism operations in its southeastern borders. Flying F16s against irregular forces and spending expensive bombs was making the operations impractical. TB2 and other first generation Turkish drones were meant to solve the cost equation. Furthermore, these platforms' ability to do recon missions and provide valuable intelligence at a fraction of the cost made them a no brainer for the Turkish military. As a result, we have managed to eliminate and clear out our mountains from terrorists and made them impossible to infiltrate due to the 24h surveillance with TB2s and ANKAs. However, the circumstances in which these drones were used were not like the playfield in Ukraine-Russia war. Terrorists do not(did not) have air defence systems to counter them. As it was explained in the video, these platforms are not working miracles. Turkey does use them against Syria for instance. Syria has some airforce and airdefences but Turkish Air Force creates a corridor inside Syria and use EW to create safe airspace for the drones to operate. They were not and are not to be used in contested air space. That was never the claim or the selling point. A TB2 is only a platform to carry useful payload. The quality EOTS provides the full hd visuals and the laser targeting for the laser-guided munitions to do surgical strikes. You could blow-up a million dollar tank at a cost of a 20-40k dollars munition. You can't beat these odds. TB2 or ANKA drones were making news and were quite popular in Turkey 5-6 years ago. However the development of new generation drones(AKINCI, KIZILELMA, ANKA-3 etc.) and the manned platforms like Hürjet or KAAN dwindled the popularity of these early generation drones. But due to their use in the beginning of the Ukraine-Russian war with quality destruction footage made them the perfect propaganda tool for the western media. They were imperative in stopping Russian troops and convoys reaching Kiev but the Russians have adapted to the drones eventually. TB2s are still being used in Ukraine but not to the same extent as it was in the beginning of the war. A few tidbits about BAYKAR(the producer of TB2): - The company is making over 200 TB2s a year. - The company is building a factory in Ukraine to produce drones. - They are testing the prototypes of their first-generation fighter drone KIZILELMA to be operated in contested air-space. Meaning it will have air to air and and air to ground capabilities with high situational awareness(AESA and integrated EOTS combo) and with internal weapon bays. Here's the new prototype with Afterburner(ukranian engine) test published yesterday: x.com/Selcuk/status/1851703317560180998 It won't be long before drones shooting down manned aircrafts from the sky.

@@snpdmz Are you okay? Turkey is not giving TB2 to Iraq anyway. It is not giving it to Serbia, Russia, Armenia, Greece or Iran either. At the beginning of the Ukraine war, the Russians told Turkey not to give TB2 to Ukraine. President Tayyip said you are giving weapons to the PKK. There is a country called Iraq on paper. The terrorist USA divided Iraq into three, handed the north over to terror and still supports it. Also, the downed UAVs were not flying secretly. Those who shot them down were not Iraqis, but Americans. When they shot the terrorists one by one, the Americans were disturbed. TB2 can be dropped, there are no people inside. But there are people inside every vehicle it hits. If the Turkish UAVs attack while doing electronics, the radars cannot see it. This is why the Russians' loss is great, they could not take precautions against this. Pantsir in particular turned into a toy.

Do not disagree with any of your points. However, I disagree with your headlines' last word "fall." Or your claim that TB2 relations less or no effect on the battlefield anymore. Evidence: If it had lost its value, why did the Ukrainian government sign last week (end October 2024) an agreement to establish in Ukraine a Bayraktar factory? You state that there is no footage anymore of Bayraktar strikes anymore - without mentioning that Ukraine has also other, especially US drones, where are their footages? I would say there is an interior, Ukrainian reason for this. PLUS, according to Turkish media, the Turkish government requested to reduce the publishing of such material - not to disturb/endanger its relations with Russia. This video could have bin made easily without marginalising Bayraktar and only talking about drone warfare. For this reason, overall - not a good job.
But that was not what happened against Russia. It decimated several convoys, even though Russia deployed alot of mobile AD. This gave unrealistic expectations of the system. Russia later adapted and at that time videos was since rarely released. He also talked about that in the video
@Christopher4700 in the beginning of the conflict russia assumed that any aircraft in the sky would be theirs... Once they learned that this was not the case they started IFF and thus the "bayraktar rain" began
TB2 used 16 km range munitions in the Ukraine war. TB2 can now launch 200 km range loitering munitions. This means Tb2 can attack from outside the range of many air defense systems.
I mean, what did people expect from just a few dozen $5m drones and a small hangar of ammo, without the extra support systems like Koral? Would the same amount of extra tanks be more helpful on the ground? 30 tanks are nothing. 30 tb2 on the other hand, can stop a huge amount of supply lines, surveillance up to 100km, pinpoint artillery, communicate and send direct gps data to the other systems.... !!Plus!! Ukraine probably also got the "linux" like software for all the drone stuff. More than good enough, for that money.
If Baykar's current numbers are considered as "hype is over", I don't know what they will have after Kizilelma enters serial production: Baykar's 2023 revenue: $2 billion ($1.8 billion of this is from exports) General Atomics' 2023 revenue: $2.8 billion I mean, just days ago, they signed another $1.2 billion export agreement at SAHA EXPO. Of course, they are not invincible products, but they sure do their job very well.
@@rahulchadha173 And $2.8 billion isn't? I compared Baykar to the biggest UAV manufacturer (the creator of Predator and Reaper) in the US for a reason. UAV manufacturers don't earn as much as other big names. Baykar is currently the world's largest UAV seller by volume. They sold another batch of 6 TB2s ($95 million) to Croatia (another NATO and EU member) just two days ago. It doesn't look like a 'downfall' to me.
@@iLikeTrains0372 Yes but it's because it has yet to enter service. Not even Turkey has received its first Kizilelma. It will enter serial production in early 2025. Baykar has no problem selling its better drones to others. They have already sold the Akinci to five other countries.
It is wrong to say the hype is over, but it is also putting the cart before the horse to hype up that revenue figure before their more premium products see production or experience. Indians were doing the same hype when the Tejas fighter was being sold to Malaysia, only to be rejected. Of the countries that bought the TB2 in 2023 after seeing what it did in Ukraine and expecting to use it in a conventional, non-counter terror role, I think they might be disappointed. It did so well not because the drone was stealthy or even exceptional, but because Russian air defense was unbelievably incompetent. When the Azerbaijanis used it in Armenia, they used Harop kamikazes and bait Antonov AN-2 drones to wipe out Armenian air defense before TB2s were sent in.
I think the thing that really had the TB2 win it's fame, was not that it was stand out gear, but it was so successful, in an environment where it shouldn't have been.
@@tisFrancesfault actually it was very successful in nagorno karabakh because the turks employed signal intelligence to locate air defences then EW platforms to accompany the drone before the air defense could react. When air defense were wiped out they simply flew unimpeded
@@t.i.lthingsilike6007one important aspect overlooked is TB2s didn't work in a vacuum, the Azeris used AN-2 biplanes converted to EW drones that presented targets to the Armenian air defense , when the air defense tried to engage Israeli Harpy/Harop loitering munitions that target radar emission hit the radars thus paving the path for the TB2s
Bro, you missed some key information. First of all, the TB2 wasn't designed to go on the battlefield alone. It was meant to be supported with Koral EWS. A lot of customers use the TB2 to use it for guerilla warfare so they don't purchase the EWS, and even Ukraine didn't have the Koral EWS, but as you saw in Libya, the TB2 managed to take half the country back in such short time, it destroyed panzar as well as S300 even after Russia provided an update to the systems, Bayraktar is far from not being popular, they are working on amazing projects such as Kizilelma and Kizilelma twin engine varient, TB3 is also coming very soon with EWS built in and has many customers lined up to purchase when its ready.
I think you missed his point. The TB2 isn't a wunderwaffe. It is a capable system that has, like many other weapon systems, revealed shortcomings. You cannot expect the TB2 to remain at the same level of success it had earlier in the war. Russia adapted. So must Ukraine. This isn't a critique of Bayraktar. It is a critique of TB2
@novusregnum The TB2 back in the Libya war destroyed all russian defences even after they were updated including the S300. The same occurred in Ukraine as we all know, but as Russia asked Turkiye to stop providing drone tech to Ukraine, eventually, they were basically phased out, and Ukraine developed a similar drone to the TB2, also a few days ago Baykar releases EWS pods for all drones including the TB2 to carry, so not even the S400 can easily target it. I'm not trying to claim they are invincible. They are far from it, but used with the right equipment, they can unleash hell, especially with the new EWS pods, which phases out the need for EWS protection from such systems as Koral.
Bayraktar TB2 is the main weapon of Turkiye's border security. After Turkiye acquired these aircraft, terrorists could not infiltrate Turkiye. It is also an economic defense and surveillance tool. Bayraktar TB2 saved the lives of many soldiers and we are grateful for that.
@@j2klegend They are not in the same class, but the world has seen the success of TB2 and in the case of the best-selling UAV, first of all, you need to look at the purpose for which a weapon is produced. TB2 is a proven product. The same cannot be said for Hermes.
Downfall??? Let's give an update > Baykar Cie produced TB3 which landed on the Anadolu LHD which is preparing to the jet powered drone fighter (ucav) Kızılelma ... Bayraktar is still in rise

@ this video apart from title is very accurate. There was definitely a hype around TB2. Trust me I operated with it and it has good use with armed groups and weak armies (armenia) there is a learning curve in every war and tb2 can’t operate the same at the start of the war. Also turkey was not responsible for the hype around tb2 it was ukraine to boos morale.
okay, theres is nothing bad you can say about drone? if you said that its slow, i would agree, its slow. its not invisible to radars, yes it doesnt do carpet bombing. but it wasnt designed for that at all. Turks do use it against PKK, not kurds which is a general term and consists of 10% of Turkish citizens, but a marxist leninist terrorist organisation - which doesnt have radars on the field, and requires precise strike as they usually shield civilians to cover themselves. Bayraktar did its job well in libia, stopping enemy forces advance. It did its job against armenian separatists in karabagh who didnt have air support. And it did its job against badly prepared russian army. Nobody said it was the ultimate super duper quantum engineering weapon that conquers the world. It is just a drone after all. Why would they sell it if it was something beyond? The point was, when united states drones costed 10 times more and still not invincible, this buddy was budget friendly and proved its capability on the field. If you search now, iran has much cheaper but kamikaze drones. Ukrainians adopted much smaller and noisy drones to drop explosive grenades over infantry on the field. Today in ukraine they are not even using remote controlled drones on some occasions because both sides have jammers, which can eliminate those smaller drones. They do attach cables to cheap kamikaze drones even if it shows your position on the field. If i can shoot a target with a pistol, it doesnt lower the reputation of a rifle
Bayraktar Tb2s are equal to none in its own class. They are electronic warfare proof (because if the controller loses the control the AI system takes over and takes them to their base. If they see a target on the way of their base they destroy them as well and they can protect themselves against missiles by dancing with them) and no air defense systems can take them down either. Yes it isn't stealth but it is impossible to detect them with ground radars as it's impossible to distinguish them from cloud clusters and bird flocks on radar screens. They can fly for 24 hours and make themselves forget. That gives them the ability of making plans to deliver the most deadly strike at the moment they choose. However, they aren't invincible. They can be easily shot down by fighter planes for example (or the other types UAVs with air to air missiles which Turkey developed which is way cheaper way to deal with them). But it isn't a big deal because they are very cheap and can easily be replaced and keep the air power of the enemy busy with a daunting task of waiting in the air for hours and this costs a lot of money for the ones trying to defend themselves against Bayraktar Tb2s. There are 3 reasons why we can't hear about them anymore in Ukraine war: First those gunships can use only Turkish made munitions and Ukraine doesn't have access to those Turkish munitions anymore. Secondly Ukraine too can produce very very cheap weaponized UAVs similar to Shahid 136s and can take down air defense systems by overwhelming them. That's currently what they do. Thirdly Bayraktar Tb2s are very good in reconnaisance and surveilance missions as well. Because of this reason they are used now to prevent Russian troops assigned with carrying out assassinations against top Ukrainian officials. Ukraine use these precious Bayraktar Tb2s with munitions for this very important mission. Because there is no other tool in the world which can achieve this mission better than Bayraktar Tb2s.

Based on what I've been able to glean, there were two primary drivers to the relative success of the Bayraktar and some other less well known platforms during the earliest phases of the war. First, the general disorganization of the Russian air defense forces in the theatre, but especially the forward echelons. In the chaos of the early Russian advances, many of their air defense assets became separated from the units they were meant to protect. There are also indications that during the first days of the conflict, many of those air-defense formations were under orders to assume any aircraft overhead were friendly unless explicitly identified otherwise. And of course, we can't forget that several of the air-defense systems destroyed by Bayraktars were caught out in their movement configuration. Secondly, Russian electronic-warfare efforts were initially quite erratic, which obviously made them less effective than they might have been. There was apparently a high degree of fratricidal jamming resulting in a temporary pause to un-fuck the situation, rendering the UAV's immune to the most efficient means of countering them. The oppositional air defense becoming more organized and effective and electronic warfare assets came back online in a more coherent fashion seems to have corresponded with the slide into dubious usefulness that we have observed over the last two years.
Many worlds I am not bro Turkish but I will say that I have seen the next generations of this drone that you’re talking about and have you seen the jet version? There’s some new developments out there the classic one of course if they’re downgrading that of course. And you know I never hear anybody talking about Turkey being the first country in the world to have a dedicated drone carrier yes that’s right an aircraft carrier small dedicated to drones
Unfortunately, this comment is not objective. Every combat aircraft has a specific design purpose, comparisons made with expected performance criteria beyond these purposes are made either out of ignorance or deliberately. How logical is it to compare the fighter characteristics of the SR-71 with the F-15? Likewise, comparing a drone with a high-performance fighter-bomber. I hope that your videos are free of politics and based on objective comments.
surprisingly detailed video.. well done. I disagree about the 'fall' there is no fall, we can say unrealistic expectations are eliminated and this UAV is still very capable and useful for well defined missions.
The video is clickbait but the drone is a success, the transition to even lower end drones like the Iranian Shahed or Haroop/Lancet like drones are what's in demand right now.

Bayraktar is a brand name. TB2 is a Bayraktar model. Most famous and successful one for sure. But the company already developed a much larger and more capable one named Akinci which briefly we can spot in this video, but not mentioned if I not missed it. Bayraktar TB3 and Bayraktar Kizilelma is on development stage. Former one will be firmly placed between TB2 and Akinci, latter one will be a turbofan powered super-sonic flight capable stealth aircraft. I cannot say that video isn't wrong almost anything about TB2, but IMO there are some significant omissions. Every single armored vehicle destroyed by TB2 exclusively used a mini smart ammunition called MAM-C or MAM-L developed and produced by ASELSAN. Also in the Northern Syria it's heavily supported by Turkish domestic land based electronic warfare system KORAL. There were footages that TB2 destroys ACTIVE Russian air-defence systems. Also there are electronic warfare pods specifically designed for TB2. We don't know how many of Ukrainian ones have such pods and how many MAMs they had. Starting of the invasion, Ukraine had almost no other Western systems. Westerners actually imposed an arms restrictions on Ukraine and Germany notably speaked against TB2s provided to Ukraine. Now war on Ukraine started into an attrition war. Ukraine have to count every penny they are spending. They may have a much cheaper solutions for attack missions. And if Turkey is reluctant to provide either the drones or munitions or pods or other supporting systems such as ASELSAN KORAL Ukraine would rather use TB2s on reconnaissance missions without risking their limited inventory of highly valuable reconnaissance drones. Simply we don't know. Also in recent years stand-off attack range of TB2 is greatly enhanced by new domestic munitions. Now TB2 can destroy some of those air defence systems without entering their range. Due to its simple nature, rate of production of TB2 was quite high. Reportedly almost 1 drone per day. That would be very attritable. Even if TB2s are exchanged 1 on 1 for airdefence systems it can be produced faster and cheaper. When a TB2 is downed you don't have to acquire new ground systems. And Turkey is not an unaligned country. Turkey isn't discriminating their respective buyers and certainly not overcharging them and more importantly we have not imposing any sanctions. Hype is died. Just like hype of Javelin died after second stage of the invasion. Javelin is widely successful. Javelin is still a gold standard for a ATGM. There were no limited amount of Javelins and after failed Russian blitzkrieg war turned into an artillery Exchange mostly.
Clickbait! Tb2 had his suprise factor. It made a great impact. It stll has value for many missions and geographies. Baykar has 3 other models after lessons learned from TB2.
its more disproving the hype around the tb2 which is a great cheap drone to use for survelliance and guerilla activity in air space with no to little air defence
Truth be told, the first time I ever heard of Bayraktar was this video! I'd never heard of the Nagoro-Karabakh war, either. Although in my defence, in November 2020 I was delivering groceries through the height of the Canadian CoVID lockdown, so I was a bit distracted. (But in truth, it's just not a part of the world that gets much attention from the average Canuck.) So you've added a great deal to my knowledge today, and not just about warplanes!
When Poland bought 25 TB2 everyone acted shocked that they did not buy the US reaper which coist close to 100 million per unit one Polish general then said exactly what most buyers think "I can not afford to loose 1 reaper drone - but i can afford to loose 5 of the TB2 at 2,5 million per unit as long as the 6th reaches his target" well that's what makes the TB2 so interesting.... and for that it is popular... high firepower at low cost... Ukraine had like 20 of these... ofcouse it was just a matter of time till the Russians bring them down one by one... but at the start they did a lot of damage at pretty low cost on high value targets... i heard they only got like 2 or 3 operational left which they do not engage in combat but for recon - these super small drones that cost like nothing are used then to do the dirty work.... so it still has it's place....
TB2 is truly a niche product. But its success is not only due to it being a niche product or being supported by successful marketing, advertising and personal relationships. Its greatest success comes from combining limited hardware with unlimited software, combat experience and tactical intelligence. While the Americans developed their drones for their wealthy customers and allies with their unlimited resources, Turkey developed them with a low budget, embargoes and the experience gained by armed organizations that threatened its borders. The story is not over yet, it seems that the Defense Industry ecosystem, which is growing day by day with TB3, Kızıl Elma, ANKA3, KAAN and other projects that have not yet been announced, will continue to change the rules of the game.
While you were making this video Bayraktar TB3 conducted first landing on a carrier. This is how detached from reality you are. A bit early to be speaking of the "fall of" Turkish drones don't you think?
They just made TB3 which landed to a drone carrier. Their Kızılelma model has really bold goals. TB2 is the cheapest drone in the market that gives insane value. Almost 40 countries bought Baykar drones total. I dont see any "fall" like your title suggests...
Azerbaijan did a big show, but the suicide drones played same big role. I found it more interesting when Turkey helped the official lybian government and kicked even the Wagners out of Lybia, that were fighting on side of that general/dictator. The lybian government was at that time nearly losing.

Strange enough here is that the French were on the same side as the russian wagnerites and the turks on the legit side. There was nearly a fight between a french warship, that was there for the weapon embargo, and a turkish warship, that probably brought weapons in…
First of all, the tb2 is not for war perspective, specially against russia where turkey want to keep a good relationship with. but for africa, east asia, and south america who cant afford the usa drones, Turkish drones is the first choices specially against terrorist and rebels

I am not saying that Turkish drones are better than US one however they are very capable drones. Your video shows a systematic bias towards equipment which is not western. Bayraktar is like the Panzer 1&2, useful and potent at the beginning of the war, but once medium tanks became the norm on the battlefield and both sides became more mechanized they became much more limited in their usefulness.
Nice nice analogy but Tb2 can fire mini smart ai capabilities cruise missiles. New Aselsan Cats FLIR system identifed enemy from 100km+. There are very few air defense systems that this combination cannot destroy. So your analogy is correct, but I think B-52s would be more appropriate. :)

Turkey: From Rejected to Technology Leader Ironically, Turkey owes its rise in drone technology to the Americans. In the late 1990s, the Turkish government asked to buy a Predator drone. The answer: a categorical refusal. Not even a loan under US control was possible. This refusal marked a turning point: Turkey decided to reduce its dependence and build its own drone industry. Today, Turkey is a leader in drone technology, which is not only due to this incident, but also to the repeated sanctions of its so-called allies. Whether tanks, engines or missile technology - Turkey was regularly blocked by European and American partners. These restrictions forced the country to go its own way and make technological advances on its own. George Friedman wrote in his book back in 2008 that Turkey could become so strong militarily and technologically by 2035 that it could compete with Europe alone. This rise becomes clearer every year. Turkey shows that obstacles can often be the driving force for independence and strength - a prime example of the power of initiative in a geopolitically challenging world.
Bayraktar TB2s is an economical drone that every country that is friendly to Türkiye can buy easily and in large quantities, moreover, Türkiye does not interfere in the internal affairs of the countries to which it sells weapons as the US does, it does not sell its weapons for political blackmail purposes, that is why more than 30 countries have preferred our Bayraktar TB2 drones, and continue to prefer them, we apologise to every US company that we have reduced the profit of arms sales :) Of course, we now have more drone models, TB2, TB3, AKINCI, ANKA, ANKA II, ANKA III, AKSUNGUR and KIZIL ELMA, of course these are only the most famous ones, these are just the beginning, we will continue to work, produce and sell until every country friendly with Turks reaches giant drone fleets. Before an American talks about a Turk, he should know that the Turks have a history of at least 2000 years with an established army, of course, westerners are arrogant, it is because of this arrogance that they somehow did not make peace with the Russians in Ukraine last time, they fought and were defeated ...

No fall at all, Bayraktar TB2 is always a rising star. Ukraine is very happy with it and Bayraktar making a Bayraktar factory in Ukraine. You gave us a wrong information
Have to give it to Turkey, though. Out of nowhere, they came and built a small niche for themselves that not many other countries' defense contractor have achieved in over a decade. They also have their KAAN 5th gen fighter platform in the works, and that should further give them some fresh market opportunities to sell their crafts and diversify
The Tb2 destroyed air defense systems in Libya, Syria and Karabakh. The Tb2 sold to Ukraine used free-fall ammunition with a range of 16 km. Turkey's Tb2s can launch 200 km range loitering ammunition. Thus, the Tb2 can destroy air defense systems without entering their range.

It's not a film or An actor of Cinema It's always depends on performance and capabilities Baykar Drones is increasing its export every month Then how we can say this falling
Ukrainians acted miraculously with every weapon they received. Aircraft are actually effective, but this depends on certain conditions. Those conditions do not exist in Ukraine. You can't expect TB2s to shoot tanks like nothing happened.
Not to mention that other drones were being modified or created as needed, as specific needs or combat environments changed. That resulted in a blistering pace of new drone development that permanently changed the face of modern combat, and is something most standard military drones just can't keep pace with. I don't think it has fallen out of favor, as much as it's just one tool in a very large and very complicated and very new toolbox. There are environments and missions where it fits in like a glove, it's just that those aren't particularly common across Ukraine at the moment.
Exactly, early on when the Russian army advanced it is well known their logistics where far behind the rate of advancement, the Soldiers stepping out of the Air defense ambarella was what Ukraine needed to utilize TB2, nowadays however drones like the Lancets or Ukrainian/Russian FPVs are probably what's gonna rule the battlefield.
There is no downfall. Company is booming. It does the job with great efficiency at a minimum cost. Did someone pay you money to put down Turkish drones??
Systems like this might be worth it even if they have no combat success. Because the other side must change behavior to defend against them, and that may limit them in a meaningful way. But these are nuances hard to asses just from the internet.
Capable but not exceptional. A superb summary of the TB-2 and how it fits into the imagery of modern warfare. Its success is due to a multitude of factors, many hust from PR but its no slouch either. Fantastic video.
This video is misleading as Bayraktar drones are used on actual warfare and are effective. Their use is proven over and over and they are affordable. So it is not a hype. We eventually see how functional they are in the last operation which led to Downfall of Assad instead. Do not be arrogant and do not underestimate anyone. Instead , learn from it and make better and more affordable alternatives.
Meh, the TB2 isn’t meant to be indestructible. It also helped the Ukrainians in their most dire hour (the first days of the Russian invasion) a whole lot more than any european drone. It’s not a wonder weapon - it’s supposed to be cheap and efficient and that’s why it’s been bought by so many (almost 30?) countries.
@@nps7742 It's not alien technology. The Ukrainians extensively used the Bayraktar TB2, and eventually, they were shot down. However, this weapon is relatively inexpensive, so losing them doesn't pose a significant issue.
The perception he is trying to create with his beautifully edited video is pointless. Because any single system in the world cannot guarantee you to win a war. And same goes for the TB2. they are not promising such things. take an example of European made MBT’s before the Ukraine war the world thought that they were the best in the world and almost invincible, but look what happened. not just tanks but most of the western technology that thought to be best in the world but failed to give Ukraine a tangible success in the battlefield. you should understand that this systems are designed to work in certain conditions with cover and support for desired results.
LMAO how have western weapons failed exactly ? Thats just pure cope. You do realize that weapons arent invincible and everything that the west has given ukraine has worked exactly as advertised so your bullshit statement that it failed is just cope and nothing more. Show me one time a western weapon has out right failed to work. You cant because they work and just because they got blown up or destroyed doesnt negate their usefulness you idiot. I swear the propaganda in the east is so lazy but it needs to be for all the stupid people that believe in it.
TB2 is successful and lining up orders. People are not supposed to be singing around a weapon system their whole life. Just because the virality factor is gone doesn't add or take anything away. It is a drone capable and incapable of the things within the envelope of a drone's scope.
bs clickbait.. it didn't become a thing overnight and wont be falling down like that either. Ofcourse they will get shot down.. it is cheap and you don't lose any crew so it is a great tool and will remain so for a long time.
I saw a lecture from a dude from the Norwegian Defence Research Institute (FFI) a while ago talking about UAVs/warfare and one could see him losing his will to live while noting that the technological half-life of these "bang-for-buck" systems could be measured in months in Ukraine due to the neck-breaking speed of development/counter development going on. (It is different from the extremely expensive ones). I think we can see similar feelings all over NATO with a reluctance to order anything but Reapers or Global Hawks. Looking at drone development, the list is stuffed with experimental models with very few put into production. It is not often we see the "Osborne Effect" in military procurement - but now we do as very few nations are ready to commit a billion Euros to something that only can pass as a child's Christmas gift in 2 months (with the explosives removed, I presume).
Price of mass production is KEY. The view that it should satisfy a child or provide a profit is NAIVE. ... - At it's best, it ought to avoid loss. - Loss of life or asset.
if you spend billions and make drones that can't pass even 500m altitude limit (like a child's christmas gift), you have serious problems dude :D. Maybe you should buy Turkish made UCAVs or loitering minutions at least
Any drone of that size that isn't stealth is just an easy target for intact and well equipped air defense (not to mention electronic warfare). The TB2 is a nice budget option for air support against foes with compromised or non-existent air defense, but it was never going to stand up to S300s and MANPADS. Stuff like the Shahed-136 is successful because it's so cheap and simple that they're highly expendable but still enough of a threat that you want to shoot them down. FPV drones are even more of an extreme here, because they're way cheaper to produce than to shoot down with anything currently operational in substantial numbers. The TB2 had its hayday before Russia got its air defense back together during the 2022 invasion. That period didn't last long.
but do you want to use a 50000 dollar missile interceptor to take out a 500 dollar drone? to effectively counter drone u need point defence system as point defence like AA gun or AA laser are cheap enough to fire at drone. you can't really relie on area defence system, the interceptor that give these system range, is too expensive.
that's the thing though, majority of countries on earth don't have "intact and well equipped air defense". Armenians did have an intact and well equipped but old air defence network. TB2s and Harops mopped the floor with them.
@@lagrangewei AA Gun and AA laser are also too expensive and the observation capabilities of small drones means using them will uncover the location and they will be targeted by something else. Probably the defense from drones that will come some day will be even cheaper drones and EW. Everything else will be too expensive to be applied on large scale. We are still in early stage of drone application on mass scale. You can compare the current moment like tank application in WW1 and how much more it was in WW2.
TB2 has 8km altitude range. Manpads have 3km. They can never shot down a TB2 if the pilot operates it properly. Also, fpv drones are small team sized tactical devices with 10 km range at most. TB2 is 200 km. Lastly, shahed etc. ther are loitering munitions not ucavs. I hope I enlightened you all.
Baykar and other Turkish defense companies are growing stronger with new technologies. 98% of Baykar's total revenues come from exports. Your title is a hoax.

A few tidbits about BAYKAR(the producer of TB2):
- The company is making over 200 TB2s a year.
Here's the new prototype with Afterburner(ukranian engine) test published yesterday: x.com/Selcuk/status/1851703317560180998

General Atomics' 2023 revenue: $2.8 billion
I mean, just days ago, they signed another $1.2 billion export agreement at SAHA EXPO. Of course, they are not invincible products, but they sure do their job very well.
2 Billion is peanuts
@@rahulchadha173 And $2.8 billion isn't? I compared Baykar to the biggest UAV manufacturer (the creator of Predator and Reaper) in the US for a reason. UAV manufacturers don't earn as much as other big names. Baykar is currently the world's largest UAV seller by volume. They sold another batch of 6 TB2s ($95 million) to Croatia (another NATO and EU member) just two days ago.
It doesn't look like a 'downfall' to me.
@@flykillerand TB-2 is the most primitive one out of all Baykar drones. They are not selling advanced ones like Kizilelma to anyone
Everybody gangsta.
Until prototype of TB3 shows up on a Turkish drone-carrying assault ship. Next for KIZILELMA. See then wining the fame how.
Whatever Ak 47 means among rifles, TB2 means the same thing among UAVs. Cheap, practical, durable and capable. It is always useful to you.
Aradığım yorum buydu. Bu arada biz KORAL 3 'de yaptık.
They are far from it, but used with the right equipment, they can unleash hell, especially with the new EWS pods, which phases out the need for EWS protection from such systems as Koral.
btw export version of KORAL is different. A lesser version but it should be sufficient in most cases
@@novusregnum That could be said about literally every weapons system in existence.

Downfall??? Let's give an update > Baykar Cie produced TB3 which landed on the Anadolu LHD which is preparing to the jet powered drone fighter (ucav) Kızılelma ... Bayraktar is still in rise
The title is misleading the downfall of Bayraktar the firm is developing far more advanced Drone the Kizelema
The TB2 cost $5m and demand was undercut by the collapse in its survivability rate making it an extremely costly asset to employ and the proliferation of drones that had the same functionality at a tenth of the cost as well as under $10,000 drones, the Kizelma employing twin jet engines is going to cost north of $10m each

The company's sales, exports, and profits broke records in 2024. They cannot keep up with the demand. What downfall are you talking about?
okay, theres is nothing bad you can say about drone? if you said that its slow, i would agree, its slow. its not invisible to radars, yes it doesnt do carpet bombing. but it wasnt designed for that at all.

Lol everything turks do is always "under development" and turks always begging other countries for technology transfer 🤣

Although in my defence, in November 2020 I was delivering groceries through the height of the Canadian CoVID lockdown, so I was a bit distracted. (But in truth, it's just not a part of the world that gets much attention from the average Canuck.)
So you've added a great deal to my knowledge today, and not just about warplanes!
The company is literally booming with many products soon to come.
Ukraine had like 20 of these... ofcouse it was just a matter of time till the Russians bring them down one by one... but at the start they did a lot of damage at pretty low cost on high value targets... i heard they only got like 2 or 3 operational left which they do not engage in combat but for recon - these super small drones that cost like nothing are used then to do the dirty work.... so it still has it's place....
it is good, cheap, feasible to deliver. everybody should admit this
TB2 is truly a niche product.

After TB-2 several more advanced Turkish drones have been developed: TB3, ANKA3, Kızıl Elma etc. You apparently have missed those developments
Turkey: From Rejected to Technology Leader
Ironically, Turkey owes its rise in drone technology to the Americans.
Bayraktar TB2s is an economical drone that every country that is friendly to Türkiye can buy easily and in large quantities, moreover, Türkiye does not interfere in the internal affairs of the countries to which it sells weapons as the US does, it does not sell its weapons for political blackmail purposes, that is why more than 30 countries have preferred our Bayraktar TB2 drones, and continue to prefer them, we apologise to every US company that we have reduced the profit of arms sales :)
Of course, we now have more drone models, TB2, TB3, AKINCI, ANKA, ANKA II, ANKA III, AKSUNGUR and KIZIL ELMA, of course these are only the most famous ones, these are just the beginning, we will continue to work, produce and sell until every country friendly with Turks reaches giant drone fleets.

In my opinion your totally wrong about the Pansir all of them that was destroyed in Libya was not active or being reloaded so it's not like it was destroyed while being active in terms do replacement then yes your 100% correct it will always be easier to replace a drone that a expensive defence system.
10:19 please, it isn't against kurds, it was against pkk which is recognized by the entire world as a terrorist organisation.
Lol im guessing you think the Armenians are a terrorist organization too
Always the same narrative! Always every contend from the so called experts try to depict that Turkey is fighting against the Kurds whereas in reality Turkey fights against the Terrororganisation PKK! There are 15-20 million Kurds in Turkey! A fight against the Kurds is impossible! Millions of Kurds are married to Turks, most of the kurds are living in the western part of Turkey. This narrative is imposed by the west, further pursuing their imperial plans for the region! There aim is splitting the existing nations into smaller easier controllable countries! Divide et impera!
@@nuclearhominoidea all kurds are not terrorists, but all PKK-terrorists are kurds.
it was against the kurds... don't kid yourself or gaslight others. Turkey massacred innocent women and children.
@mrpont3980 thats what pkk does. Murder children, teachers, doctors and kurds. Yet people like you accept the brainwash from these sympathisers. Ask any kurd in Turkiye and they will say the same, pkk is a terrorist organisation that has nothing to do with kurds.
Drones are typically used for surveillance rather than full-scale attacks, for which fighter jets are necessary.
Bayraktar was a phase of evolution and will upgrade to keep going on forever. I think the embargo on the Turkiye of the Western nation was and is a mistake.
FYI: TH-cam blocked me from watching this video twice, supposedly because it contains a sponsored section.
Blocked in what way?
If you put your mouse over the video thumbnail, particularly the upper half of it, a link to youtubes sponsored video information appears (sponsored videos only). Clicking the thumbnail at this time takes you to that information and not the video.
Drives me nuts as the link graphic fades in so i often click a video thinking ive beat the link appearing but not actually. I dont think the video was blocked for sponsorship, just a misunderstanding, but im not the OP
@@MilitaryAviationHistory I clicked on the video to watch it, and a second or two after it started playing, the browser tab switched to a window warning about "sponsored content", with no way to go back to your video. Clicking the "back" arrow brought me back to the main TH-cam Subscriptions list, and not your video. This happened twice before I was able to watch the video normally.
That sounds like the voluntary disclaimer results in some sort of strange UI change. I haven't heard it acting up before, perhaps they made some recent changes.
It’s popular because a lot of country are fighting groups with no air defense and basic equipment and this drone give them cheap air power.
@ Maybe the one that Turkey has, plus the Turkish operators probably have the best knowledge and tactics but I feel like the ones they sell to other countries and those peoples experience makes them less capable
It's not a film or An actor of Cinema
It's always depends on performance and capabilities Baykar Drones is increasing its export every month Then how we can say this falling
100%
Exactly, early on when the Russian army advanced it is well known their logistics where far behind the rate of advancement, the Soldiers stepping out of the Air defense ambarella was what Ukraine needed to utilize TB2, nowadays however drones like the Lancets or Ukrainian/Russian FPVs are probably what's gonna rule the battlefield.
Downfall is an exaguration. Hype ended but the company is growing more than before.
So why TB2 is still the most selling combat UAV in world? That means you are a big liar.
I think this is a paid commercial by competitors of Bayraktar. It has no correlation with reality or technology.....at all.

Bayraktar: The 'Downfall' We Made Up-Because Who Needs Facts When You Have Hype!
Capable but not exceptional.
A superb summary of the TB-2 and how it fits into the imagery of modern warfare. Its success is due to a multitude of factors, many hust from PR but its no slouch either.
Fantastic video.
He is a lying J€W he wants their drone to sell, orders are backed up 3.5 years he is a liar
You always make your subject interesting. We are lucky to have you.
The United States owns any country that relies on Microsoft Windows to fight a war
What? The Bayraktar is pretty on top. No idea what this guy is yapping or what his real motivation was with this video.
It is a bs propaganda video…
typical German, in bed with Russia
What propaganda why its not used in Russia anymore...?
@@nps7742 It's not alien technology. The Ukrainians extensively used the Bayraktar TB2, and eventually, they were shot down. However, this weapon is relatively inexpensive, so losing them doesn't pose a significant issue.
@@CYRAQUESS99 5 million dollars is very expensive when you can have 500 kamikaze drones for the same price
@@nps7742 total 35 tb2's sent. why are ukrainian jets or helicopters not used anymore? why are western tanks not used anymore? are you getting it?
Time is changing and TB2s are also changing 😊 so, dont worry about them.
Sooo you agree with what he said?
LMAO how have western weapons failed exactly ? Thats just pure cope. You do realize that weapons arent invincible and everything that the west has given ukraine has worked exactly as advertised so your bullshit statement that it failed is just cope and nothing more. Show me one time a western weapon has out right failed to work. You cant because they work and just because they got blown up or destroyed doesnt negate their usefulness you idiot. I swear the propaganda in the east is so lazy but it needs to be for all the stupid people that believe in it.
The TB2 has no longer a significance in Ukraine.
🤣🤣🤣 the highest demand in he world .. I now understand the reason of this video 👍👍 keep going , you are a big proof of you know what it is 😉
Any drone of that size that isn't stealth is just an easy target for intact and well equipped air defense (not to mention electronic warfare).
You can compare the current moment like tank application in WW1 and how much more it was in WW2.
this can fly beyong manpad range
TB2 has 8km altitude range. Manpads have 3km. They can never shot down a TB2 if the pilot operates it properly. Also, fpv drones are small team sized tactical devices with 10 km range at most. TB2 is 200 km. Lastly, shahed etc. ther are loitering munitions not ucavs. I hope I enlightened you all.
Tb2 is cost-efficient UCAV, it still the best options for many LATAM, Africa and APAC countries.
Baykar and other Turkish defense companies are growing stronger with new technologies. 98% of Baykar's total revenues come from exports. Your title is a hoax.
bayraktar type of drones are game changer in the hand of modern age armies who can use them along side of air force...
We see that when expensive US drones lose market, it is the new US policy to show Turkish drones as unsuccessful.
