You Will NEVER Hit Irons Well If You Don’t Do This - Real Student

  • If you struggle with your iron play then this lesson is a must watch! I recently had the chance to help Kevin with his golf game and the changes we were able to make were incredible!
Kevin wasn't hitting his irons as well as he would like, he was striking them poorly and leaking the majority out to the right, by the end of the lesson he was striking them pure, hitting them further and straighter too, and the key to this was making one change to his club face.
The fault that Kevin had is very common, so there is a good chance that this will also be incredibly helpful to your game.
As always please drop down into the comments and let me know if you have any questions, i do try to get back to everyone who take the time to comment
    Enjoy, Chris

Great lesson! The expression on his face when he struck the ball well was priceless.🎉

Great video and so good to see a lesson with a player off a handicap of 20. So much more relevant to a lot of golfers than a single figure handicap.👍

Really helpful. For golfers of a certain age, we were taught that the shaft should be parallel to the target line at the top which we achieved with a lot of wrist cock. This video clarifies with a real, typical example of why this is a problem. The extended or cupped left wrist opens the face and forces the shaft to be too steep coming down which forces the clubhead outside the hands in the pre delivery position. So when you uncock to release the club, you're necessarily moving the clubhead across the ball with a path way to the left, because your wrists are pointing that way. Even if the release is strong and the face squares up to the target line this is going to produce a slice with zero degrees face angle but minus 5 path or whatever. Great work Chris, thanks.

    excellent coaching.
I did it in driving range.
It’s amazing. I swing with just one thought in mind. It’s the flexing of L wrist. The ball path is straighter or slight draw. Thanks Chris!

Very interesting, but I wonder : did Kevin exit low left even if the club head swung right at impact?

That’s really helpful. The key part for me was pointing the arrow at your chair on the downswing - I have been focusing on what happened with my hands (ie where is the end of the grip during my swing). That was okay at the top and bottom of my swing but the other end of my club was all over the show during the downswing - I am much more consistent now I’m focusing on the way the shaft is pointing (at least for one session!). Thanks

Yeah I enjoyed creating those but the views were just generally poor and the back end data through TH-cam showed that people just weren’t watching much of them, clicking off very early in the video so seemed like there wasn’t the demand for those style videos

Great video Chris, this is something that I have been working on lately. Where do you set the DTL camera? Is it in line with the ball, the golfers toe line, or the body? Thanks for providing all these fantastic videos.

Hey Kevin, I tend to set it in line with the hands at set up, tends to give the best perspective, hard to always get in there though unless you film in the same place each time, does help through if the view is the same

Yes that’s fine for lots of golfers, but in some cases that much wrist set opens the face, was the case for Kevin
