One of the most beautiful piano concertos. A wonderful interpretation by Maria Joao Pires. She plays the piano. No show. No killing the keyboard. Just giving a performance with feeling and intensity.
Here comes again The Greatest Pianist in the wordl, The Lady Maria João Pires. I just love her and her magic touch. Wow, how wonderful is hear that marvelous pianist. My pleasure.
What a joy to hear the wonderful Maria João Pires playing again. This was pure magic! Hope she will continue performing on stage as long as she wants.🎹🙏👏
What a wonderful performance. She is a magnificent pianist. Herbert is a wonderful accompanist he was with her all the way. Her performance was so sensitive.
La Pires plays scales with great passion and great delicacy giving the concerto a great touch of Romantic aspect that this music has incorporated. A great artist that plays the music of a genius.❤❤❤
I loved seeing her play with Martha Argerich on the same piano not too long ago. I never thought of them as adversaries and badly wanted to see them together and i was allowed to see it :)
Maria Pires is a star here but not the only one. H. Blomstedt was 96. Some precious words from him: “Aldous Huxley, the great English novelist who came to Los Angeles in 1937, and who was neither a musician nor a Christian, remarked that the music coming out of the radios in Southern California was like sewage. What would he have said today? “The abyss between sacred and secular has never been greater than today. Those who do not smell the stench of the rotten pop culture already have it in their own nostrils. Today’s rock music is the very opposite of spiritual music. It is music that kills the spirit.”
Didn't you know that the Asians, especially the Japanese, appreciate "our" musical culture much more than we do? Every year Blomstedt comes to Tokio to conduct the NHK orchestra. His concerts are broadcast live on TV. Blomstedt once said that he cannot move through the city of Tokyo without being recognized by the people there. The Japanese show us Europeans how to appreciate our own music from the bottom of our hearts.

I don't think this greatest of all piano concertos can be performed any better. Maria is really one of the very best.

How can her touch be so warm and soothing? It is not from learning or lesson….I really admire her.
A very good quality piano helps.
@@JaymesSinnah All the great performers play on good quality pianos. sangmikang is probably comparing to other greats... and I agree.
you said it! the polar opposite of the bravura types such as Martha Argerich or Yuja Wang

El listo de turno.
@@danielwilkins6302If this is the only thing you have to say about Maria João Pires I feel extremely sad for you.
This is the most graceful performance of his concerto I've ever heard. Perfect balance all around.

Maria Joao Peres, she is so charming, and wonderful. Thank's very much, 😌
Clean and beautiful tone, economical mechanics and movement, delicate and precise but powerful when needed. No showboating. Great as usual!

It’s beauty if beyond this gift. Thank you.

Does Blomstedt speak japanese?
I am using my hearing aid, but it is not loud enough.
The orchestra is Asian. Omg 😂why ?so sad!
Why?
