We should accept it with humility and love in order to know and understand what is great, noble and beautiful. Maurizio Polini left us this message. One of the world's greatest pianists has died. I eagerly came back here to admire the Master, his wonderful playing, which provided us with so many emotional experiences, emotions, elation, inner strength and a sense of great beauty. Unimaginable sadness and grief overwhelmed me when I learned that he was no longer with us. It brings tears to my eyes and those who adored him. Disbelief... There is something downright “Eternal” in this performance…in all those who brought this to fruition…and of course in Beethoven…It shines in Eternity…we are ever grateful…thank you ✨
Just watched a young Van Cliburn play this in Russia (I assume during his winning appearance in 1958) and that is still my all-time favorite version. The 2nd movement always makes me cry.
Tale il padre....tale il figlio. Bravi entrambi! Grazie a tutti !
A magnificent pianist. A gifted conductor. A wonderful orchestra. And an appreciative audience. What a wonderful night it was. This is my favorite performance of the 5th piano concerto.
Dear maestro I’ll be always thankful to you for the great magical moments you brought to my life every time I had the honor to attend one o your wonderful concerts at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. RIP you’ll always be remembered as one of the best pianists of the 20th century.
God, he makes that piano shimmer. I believe the best pianist's I've heard can summon the entire orchestra from their instrument. Case in point here and yes...thank you sound engineer for bringing it us.
One of the great piano pieces played by one of the great pianists. What a great pleasure! Thank you--Beethoven and both Pollinis, and the great Spanish orchestra of Galicia.
I am mesmerized by this rendition of my favorite concerto played with such brilliance by this outstanding orchestra and Father and Son combination. Just what we all need during these distressing times. BRAVO !
As a parent, one can feel the deep joy of this concert. Father & son - together - making music by one of the greatest composers the world has known. I wish!!
I was listening to this masterful performance again last night. And today I learn that maestro Pollini has died. How moving. His talent will live on in the hearts of all music lovers. Thanks for all.
If my calculations are correct Maurizio is 73 in this performance! That is wonderful to see. May his hands and mind stay fit and well for many years to come! May God bless you with good health.
Mozart plays the beauty of utopia or heaven but beethoven plays the glory of real world with its all emotions,sufferings,miracles...beethoven plays the depth of human feelings...so real
Maravilloso!! Gracias, gracias, gracias!!!
The enduring appeal of classical music lies in its ability to evoke a myriad of emotions with unparalleled sophistication. Whether it's the grace of a Mozart sonata or the drama of a Beethoven symphony, each piece is a testament to the limitless creativity of the human mind. Classical music is not just a genre; it's a timeless journey through the depths of human expression.
I love this piano concerto and have listened to it many times. This would be the best rendition by both orchestra and pianist that I have heard. It is a wonderful performance.
I think this is closer to how Beethoven himself would have played although it would have been on a fortepiano. For me, the fortepiano sounds much better. It's two octaves less and more lightweight.
Thank you! I had not seen a father and son in formal concert perform together...very rich of a joy shared. I genuinely love 'their hands' placed together with their personal interpretation as son with father inside Beethoven's music.
I didn't think I could love Pollini more, but seeing the respect, love and pride he has for his son was overwhelming. He is a truly great artist and a generous and humble human being!
I used to have a vinyl record with Maestro Pollini's interpretation of the final three concertos of Beethoven - he was the Artist who opened the doors to Beethoven's piano music for me! He will be sorely missed! 😢😢😢😢R.I.P. Grande Maestro!!!! 😢😢😢😢

Just watched a young Van Cliburn play this in Russia (I assume during his winning appearance in 1958) and that is still my all-time favorite version. The 2nd movement always makes me cry.
Tale il padre....tale il figlio. Bravi entrambi! Grazie a tutti !
Si
What an incredibly emotional performance! Father and son and Beethoven's greatest piano concerto! Bravo!!
Love that you can hear Pollini humming!

A magnificent pianist. A gifted conductor. A wonderful orchestra. And an appreciative audience. What a wonderful night it was. This is my favorite performance of the 5th piano concerto.
The greatest of composer and superb interpretation
Dear maestro I’ll be always thankful to you for the great magical moments you brought to my life every time I had the honor to attend one o your wonderful concerts at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. RIP you’ll always be remembered as one of the best pianists of the 20th century.
Good bye, Maurizio Pollini.
Que descanse en paz
Que triste partida,QEPD.Maurizio Pollini😢😢
❤❤❤❤😢
If I were allowed only one piece of music to listen to - forever - here it is !!
Father and son!!❤❤
father passed away!!! rest in peace 😔🙏🌹🕯🕯... His music will remain in our hearts ❤🎼🎹. We have lost one of the world's greatest pianists 🕯🙏🌹
I am mesmerized by this rendition of my favorite concerto played with such brilliance by this outstanding orchestra and Father and Son combination. Just what we all need during these distressing times. BRAVO !

PERFECT DEFINITION.👌🎹🎼🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶💪🔥🔝✌🌠
Schnell unabashedly schnell ...totally loved it....GRAZIE MAESTRI
Me uno a su definición, beethoven was wonderful ❤❤❤
Goosebumps! The orchestra is totally engaged electric.
No existen palabras. Solo hay que escucharlo. Me eduqué escuchándolo . Tengo 88 años. Cada día le admiro mas❤
Está música 🎼 me eleva, Armoniza y me transporta a mundos maravillosos. Saludos desde Caracas Venezuela.
I didn't think I could love Pollini more, but seeing the respect, love and pride he has for his son was overwhelming. He is a truly great artist and a generous and humble human being!
You truly say what the performance suggests.
Inspiring, glorious Beethoven. Performers equal to the composer. R.L
Ein wunderbares Konzert und Pollini grandios
I used to have a vinyl record with Maestro Pollini's interpretation of the final three concertos of Beethoven - he was the Artist who opened the doors to Beethoven's piano music for me! He will be sorely missed! 😢😢😢😢R.I.P. Grande Maestro!!!! 😢😢😢😢

A brilliant conductor, amazing pianist and a great symphony orchestra that made me feel like I was in heaven. Wouldn't it be uncivilized if I didn't say something after enjoying such a wonderful musical feast?
Wonderful to be in isolation listening to such joyous music
