The middle movement is the most beautiful song ever written , as one who has played it often. Requires great emotional restraint to complete...and one wishes to play it over once more, just for one's self...no one else. But, the merry, delightful final movement awaits.
Probably the best recording of this concerto, the lightness of the orchestra matches Daniil's touch perfectly, but can be heavy when needed. Truly captured the spirit of Mozart.

This is for whoever that wants a specific mov. 1st mov. 0:47 (piano part starts at 3:05) 2nd mov. 12:43 3rd mov. 19:39 the actual piano playing starts here: 20:35 btw 3rd is my favorite movement, possibly a story of Merry and Pippin from lord of the rings 🤨
This way he looks by playing piano is the proof for me that he can feel the real music and the emotions in it with his heart and that he understand all this wonderful things which Mozart wanted to say with his music. You can here the sweetness and the magic in his playing. A amazing pianist.

I totally agree. He and Bernstein has hit the exactly right tempo! I have never heard it played so controlled and the same time passionate. That goes for the orchestra too. The way the clarinette and the flute comes in after the piano entry in the andante is unforgettable!

I was up close with him once and his ability to get a specific sound out of the piano was incredible. He asked for some minor changes to be made to the instrument and when the tuner was done he played a few bars of a Chopin and promptly left the building. I wallked to the piano immediately afterwards to try and recreate his sound. It took about 12 attempts to get it and I had to concentrate all the way. His sound changes depending on the rep. He is a truly astonishing artist. As a postscript to that story, he was nowhere to be found until minutes to his recital. He was dishevilled and eating a pie out of a bag - someone straightened his tie and took the pie off him, gave him a towel to wipe his hands. He never spoke but just walked on stage and played like a god. Utterly breathtaking ability.

This is one of the most perfect, beautiful piano concertos ever written played by a young pianist giving his all and people are complaining how he looks. Mozart is too good for some.
Which are: Ladies...Yuja Wang, Helene Grimaud, Valentina Lisitsa, Alice Sarah Ott, Kathia Buniatishvilli, Olga Pashenko. Only new generation. Not mention Ushida, Argerich etc. Men: Matsuev, Trifonov, Levit, Perianes, Thibaudet, Lang Lang, Fray.... Not mention the monsters Barenboim, Ashkenazi etc.
Breathtaking performance! Daniil and the orchestra are absolutely professional musician souls. Sensational colours and magical music in the air! Thank you for giving me a chance to listen Mozart’s genius talent in such a highest level of interpretation of my favourite piano concerto. ❤️
I am totally mesmerized by Daniil's Mozart style, sound and sensitivity...he is playing with pearls on the mirror surface- like when performing this Mozart piano concerto...what a great rendition and passionate involvement wirh music...I bet Mozart himself is smiling somewhere amongst the stars in Universe at listening this fantastic performance...Trifonov beats all the piano big stars I've seen in my life so far...and I did see (I mean listened) quite few...

Oh my goodness! Does this Pianist ever play a different song? Because there is so much soul in this performance, it looks like he dedicated his whole life to it! Beautiful!
Lea F, He is VERY good at playing Chopin , too !! I'm going to see his performance to Vienna, Austria next month. He will play" Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.3 in C Major " I'm looking forward to seeing him.
Song? It's not a poem set to music. It's a piano concerto. A song is a poem set for voice with piano accompaniment. It's also a form (typically, A-B-A). The word you mean to use is piece, composition.
This is the most extraordinary renditions of this piece I've heard. Personally I'm mesmerized by how enveloped he is in the song; Daniil Trifonov is arguably one of best pianists in the world, and it's evident that every ounce of his heart and soul poured in to this performance. If you're busy making fun of his expressions, you're missing out on appreciating something incredibly beautiful!
IMHO, Rubinstein played it better (especially the Adagio). Just compare. Rubinstein stays calm and has an iron rhythm. Trifonov lacks this a little ... ;) In the Adagio with Rubinstein I understand the Goethe sentence: "Verweile doch Augenblick, denn du bist so schön!" (Please rest moment you're so beautiful!) This doesn't happen to me with Trifunov. ;)
This is such a beautiful piece, especially played by Danil.... It was such a tragic thing that Mozart died so young, if he hadn't what would the world have sounded like? The more I hear of Mozart the more I love his genius to music....
He plays indescribable heavenly, it almost hurts, just on the edge of the bearable, he pulls you in his amazing concentration and love of anything he is performing, sweeping body, mind emotion into an extraordinary beauty bringing one in an utter state of happiness... I’m very grateful for this experience... and his looks are marvelous extremely authentic, happy to see a person as a whole, not a modified mainstream idea of what should look good in a certain area... people who have time whether looks are ‚just‘ are not able neither to listen nor to see what is, as they found more important how they look like what an illusion ridden empty vessels driven by any current stream...
What a beautiful performance! Thanks a lot! However, I'm somewhat concerned about all the people who leave a negative comment here. It's doubtlessly a marvelous, professional performance, that deserves to be ENJOYED! I understand if you have a different perspective on this masterpiece, however, can't you just a acknowledge this beautiful, personal moment here? Behind the videography, there are artists who always give their very best! To me, thumbs down is a bit primitive, sorry to say!
This is one of the most exquisite pieces Mozart ever wrote particularly the Adagio - full of subtle power, pathos and melancholy and this interpretation is breathtaking. I love Trifonov's expression because, in addition to putting all his emotion into his performance, he is moved by the power of the music and the audience (including me) can feel it!
@@davidgleba3832 you are Right. For some reason i thought there is a Connection, but now i dont know why this 2. movement is so different to other Music by Mozart!
When I first started learning this piece, my piano teacher sent me to this video. I just wanna say, my piano teacher has good taste and I thank her. I'll be playing this piece at a competition a month later. I'm nowhere as good as him, and I wish me good luck:)
@@rossnaheedy3400 The competition went well. I messed up a little bit, because I was really nervous, but I guess that doesn't count as an excuse. I bet other people were nervous too. I really loved playing it though.
The kid can play Mozart. Nothing "creepy" about his expressions, he's just definitely and sincerely into the music. Now, regarding his hair and bow tie, both need attention. But my gracious, 20 years old and such understanding of this work of genius.
Who cares about his hair and bow tie? If he were a hobo with clothes full of holes, such remarkable musicianship, love, skill and sensitivity would overcome everything else.
I'm a piano teacher, and always looking for ways to teach my students music history and appreciation in lessons. This is perfect to show how musical expression manifests physically and helps the listener feel sympathy and their own emotional response.
@@watcher8582great question! as you watch Daniil Trifonov play, you see the emotion on his face and in his movements that translate into the music as you hear it. You will feel the same intensity, joy, and sadness/longing that he expresses. For me it's like I'm right there, almost playing it with him or sitting in the front row. Whenever possible, as you listen to any music pay attention to the performer. Although they are playing the same piece that has been played for hundreds of years, they are adding their own unique expression to it with their movements, technique, and interpretation. This one is particularly spectacular. Does that help? I can elaborate further :) or simplify.
@@carolinea5792 Okay, thanks. I'll take a look next time I'm in a concert. I imagine it helps if the players are really pros - otherwise they would be a bit too tense to enjoy it while performing.

I don't care what people say about how he looks when he plays. If that helps him play his best, then I'm all for it.
Absolutely agree !!!
You look that way when music plays you! He is exceptional in every sense!!
He looks like a cute little ferret.
HAH! YES :)
He doesn't even notice. It takes a lot to play with this much emotion....Best rendition of the 2nd movement I ever heard

@Dunja Ivanovna ,
Daniil Trifonov is heavenly and Mozart is my favourite composer of all time. And this one is my favourite Mozart Piano Concerto, so far!
Mr. Trifonov is so young but he plays Mozart sublimely. The israeli orchestra excellent too!
Daniil Trifonov plays this Mozart Concerto, so smooth and beautiful. Very amazing !
Hydraulic Press Smoothly and beautifully 😉
I love you, Daniil! You're making Mozart so happy even today. It's your world. You'll be your generation's Richter. You're Genius.
Sad that he doesnt play Mozart so often. I think it matches his style really well.
Have never seen so expressive piano player. He lives the music, he feels he is music himself. Amazing.
That adagio movement is so smooth kudos to the Israeli orchestra the winds got the piece to perfection it expresses everything I feel in my soul
I think Daniil Trifonov is one of the greatest of our time. I adore his work.
LakeComo Have you seen this Maestro Live?please if possible do!
@@SarahJones-wy5us I had the pleasure to attend a concert by Daniil Trifonov 5 years ago at the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona and I enjoyed every single minute of it, at the end the audience stood for more than 10 minutes screaming!

to Barcelona, I bought the ticket the first day they were sold! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ him!!

Daniil Trifonov, un pianist excepțional. Felicitări, pentru munca depusa și emoția cantarii!!!
This is one of the most perfect, beautiful piano concertos ever written played by a young pianist giving his all and people are complaining how he looks. Mozart is too good for some.
Pearls before swine.
alex melia he looks very good!!! Plays beautifully!!!!
I agree 100%
Wishing someone, anyone would come to my house and play the piano for me or just play the piano for the heck of it....🎶🌹🐶🥂😘

Breathtaking performance!
Daniil and the orchestra are absolutely professional musician souls. Sensational colours and magical music in the air! Thank you for giving me a chance to listen Mozart’s genius talent in such a highest level of interpretation of my favourite piano concerto. ❤️
To all who made this possible. Thank you!
Beatiful presentation. He is playing with his heart and soul❤
Absolutamente , emocion.
One of the best performances i ever heard for this concerto! So moving, so true in the second movement...
This is my favourite Mozart piano concerto and I just never tire of listening to this wonderful performance. He is simply fantastic!

When I am in the gym and working out with headphones on, I don’t care about any musician‘s looks. Bravissimo!
Oh my goodness! Does this Pianist ever play a different song? Because there is so much soul in this performance, it looks like he dedicated his whole life to it! Beautiful!
Lea F indeed this young seems to be in two different worlds when he plays. In the 18 th cent. with his heart and in present with his fingers
Lea F
Lea F, He is VERY good at playing Chopin , too !! I'm going to see his performance to Vienna, Austria next month. He will play" Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.3 in C Major " I'm looking forward to seeing him.
Song? It's not a poem set to music. It's a piano concerto. A song is a poem set for voice with piano accompaniment. It's also a form (typically, A-B-A). The word you mean to use is piece, composition.
pretty sure i remember hearing he spent only a couple weeks on it lol
This is the most extraordinary renditions of this piece I've heard. Personally I'm mesmerized by how enveloped he is in the song; Daniil Trifonov is arguably one of best pianists in the world, and it's evident that every ounce of his heart and soul poured in to this performance. If you're busy making fun of his expressions, you're missing out on appreciating something incredibly beautiful!
100% d'accord ...
IMHO, Rubinstein played it better (especially the Adagio). Just compare. Rubinstein stays calm and has an iron rhythm. Trifonov lacks this a little ... ;)
In the Adagio with Rubinstein I understand the Goethe sentence: "Verweile doch Augenblick, denn du bist so schön!" (Please rest moment you're so beautiful!) This doesn't happen to me with Trifunov. ;)
Well said !
+MusikPiratCH It's just my preference, but better a little beautiful rubato than iron rhythm.
What a delightful way to spend half an hour watching this performance! It is marvelous and thank you!
This is such a beautiful piece, especially played by Danil.... It was such a tragic thing that Mozart died so young, if he hadn't what would the world have sounded like? The more I hear of Mozart the more I love his genius to music....
unreal, just perfect, his flow, and the ability to deliver..
Love to see him playing. It is amazing how he deeply connects with the music and feels into it.
Such nuance, such emotion, such spirit. Perfection.
Excellente interprétation ,,, émotion ,,,,, bravo
Your absolutely right. Trifonov is a born genius!
I agree wholeheartedly! An excellent performance and I love his interpretation!
Primitive, rude, ignorant, lack of sensibility?
I agree with you - it's better to remain silent. . .
This is my most favorite Mozart piano Concerto No 23. Delightfully played by a very accomplished pianist.

Perhaps the best interpretation of this concert I've ever heard.
Sscond movement is so moving. What was Mozart thinking of when he wrote this. Trfonov is so gentle with each note. Simply amazing!
Edna Concepcion If you hear it twice, it will suffice for the rest of your life. It's so boring and flat and over emotional and everything.
His mother died thats why its that emotional
@@leonsundermeyer: Mozart's mother died in 1778; this piano concerto was written in 1786, so I doubt that there is any connection.
@@davidgleba3832 you are Right. For some reason i thought there is a Connection, but now i dont know why this 2. movement is so different to other Music by Mozart!
I feel sorry for you, I really do !@@rubensiedner4584
When I first started learning this piece, my piano teacher sent me to this video. I just wanna say, my piano teacher has good taste and I thank her. I'll be playing this piece at a competition a month later. I'm nowhere as good as him, and I wish me good luck:)
So, how did it go?
@@rossnaheedy3400 The competition went well. I messed up a little bit, because I was really nervous, but I guess that doesn't count as an excuse. I bet other people were nervous too. I really loved playing it though.
Captain Starfish the best of luck to you
Mozart’s sublime piece, he said angels whispered the piece to him. Dan channels Amadeus as he plays. As most prolific players do. Absolute Masterpiece
@silver bud Mozart was such a genius I am almost certain he will recognize the talent of this young man and appreciate a different interpretation!
The 2nd mvmt and I’m in tears
Oh Mozart you miracle !!!!! Centuries have passed and we haven’t seen anyone even close to your prodigious genius!
I'm a piano teacher, and always looking for ways to teach my students music history and appreciation in lessons. This is perfect to show how musical expression manifests physically and helps the listener feel sympathy and their own emotional response.
Can you elaborate a bit on that? Who is feeling what here in this concert as it's being played, I'm not sure what you mean. Thanks!
