- Making great strides on the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda notchback for my friend @blakesmusclecar . This video covers the repair process of the driver side, applying the Rage Gold filler and sanding it off. Then priming the driver side and top withe the Impact DTM primer.

Joe - This is fantastic!! We love watching the transformation. I forgot all about that beauty line above the drip rail. @justmoparjoe saw that concrete block under the front driver's wheel - we learned the hard way during my yellow tractor days: the load bearing side (top, bottom) of the block is where the openings are, the 'sides' are not load bearing and they tend to split/fail at the worst possible time 😬 That body work you're doing - it is better than factory!!! 👍

These videos make me remember why I hate doing bodywork. Keeps me from getting excited about doing it again. I find it easier to be a keyboard expert about everything while doing absolutely nothing.
Haha! Honestly is the best policy. But it gets easier as you go. Definitely some “work” in bodywork.
4:26 You missed the most important learning opportunity skipping over that! So many of us don't have the foggiest notion how you done it. I'd love to learn that bit of technique. Would have been really handy for those corner rounds on the back of my box. Ah, hell I forgot to send those pictures off to you. It came out really damned nice for a rush job. For the underside I tried out flexseal and I hafta say it works nice as long as you paint over it. Looks exactly like the factory undercoat job.
All them door dings look like it got parked at a chevy loving walmart for a long time, haha! But after a few weeks with you nobody will ever know! You've definitely got the touch my dude.

Hey joe just a suggestion but i would use a roller to put the primer on. You're going to block it anyway and it saves on the taping. Its how I do mine

Absolutely! Gotta find the right mix of hardener for every day. I love the Rage filler because it spreads so well. Nearly like puddy!
@@JustMoparJoe The owner of the 50 plymouth I'm doing brought me 3m brand this stuff is AMAZING. It sands off like drywall mud. BUT it's $135 a gallon. I usually buy the $20 a gallon stuff.
@@somewhatfast oh man! We know time is money. If you can apply it half as often and sand it twice as quickly, then it should be worth it. I’ll have to try some sometime
What kind of disc were you stripping paint with?

In the very beginning, it was a sheet of 80 grit. On the Contour drum sander, it was 80 or 120
What do you use for rust doing a 67 cuda myself low deck (383 stroker)
I like several items. 1. If you strip to bare metal and see small rust spots, then I use Rust mort. 2. If you see some scattered rust spots and want to spot treat them, then I like Permatex rust converter. 3. If you sand an area and see mostly surface rust, and you want something to treat it, then I definitely love Eastwood’s rust encapsulator. They’re all here in my amazon store front amzn.to/3A66p7s
What gauge metal did you use for your patches?
