I’m not gonna lie it’s just too nicely done for me, I mean it’s perfect and beautiful and I have nothing bad to say about it but I like the old original style interior look better, and an engine bay without a bunch of covers over everything. I bet that nascar engine rips though! 👍
I was going to say this. I appreciate it from a Sema build point of view, but I feel like these cars are more art pieces than something you would want to drive. I like a clean engine bay, but not a fan of all the shrouds.
Agreed. It's like driving a delicate sculpture that cannot be scratched or dropped. Shame the NASCAR engine likely won't roar much. It's beautifully executed though. But if whomever buys it does let it rip...hats off to them!
dude i had to watch this a few times. this is to me like soundbody said ive got a plan to take ques from the hands down the last shop that changed the game and then use my idea to tweak it enough that it really is something that says they might be the next builders to change the game. people dont honor heritage. like barris roth then boyd to trepanierand known its mike and jim .they raised the last bar and this remingds meof a similar style but even better . wicked beyond compare
Not the biggest fan of concept style restomods, but I can truly appreciate all the work that's put into this beauty, not to forget the freaking Nascar engine! It really leaves me highly inspired and motivated to have my very own build some day. Incredible work. Thanks for sharing this with us, Shawn and the Autotopia crew 🤟🤟
NASCAR engine eh? Sure would be nice to be able to see it... I appreciate the talent and skill that goes into these things, but this is way too much. Just making cars unusable for the sake of making them unusable. I will never understand.
Charley Hutton is a name I haven't heard in quite awhile. If I'm not mistaken, he used to paint for the late Boyd Coddington. He can definitely lay down some beautiful paint...
I watch this channel religiously. TH-cam has turned off notifications for new uploads for me. And to think, I thought it was just happening to gun channels like mine.
Very happy to see Australian builds showcased in US, this Cuda was one of my favorite cars at SEMA this year. Next up I suggest from here, from New Zealand. Maybe Kruzin Kustoms' amazing Chevy C10?
When did cars become static displays? The wheels aren’t square after all. Always wanted to put a detuned NASCAR engine into a lightweight street car… that can be driven!
Beautiful on the outside. Dash and those buttons with the iPad just look outta place. I personally would of left it more classic or built a better interior . Some low backs with a nice wine red Diamond stick would of been much better then carbon back seats . I know my opinion doesn’t matter cuz I’ll never be able to afford this car lol 😂
Nothing beats the shape of a 'cuda , on the other hand not crazy about such a sanitary engine compartment, it reminds me of my low-end scale models kit where too many details were missing.
1970 Cuda ,no mods necessary ,they look perfect the day they rolled out the factory ,once you start dickin with em you can ruin the entire look ,factory for me ,i dont blame the owner for being ready to sell ,i would be too
My mind tells me this is a _powerplant,_ not just a normal human engine/motor. Outstanding build for the open road and track. Congested city driving will make your left calf twice as big as the right in a week or so. 🙂
@@audriusbaranauskas6227 🤔 700'000.- ???! Soviel Geld würde ich auf die Bank legen, damit ich einigermassen gut leben kann, wenn ich pensioniert bin. Nie im Leben für ein Auto raus werfen.... nur Idioten machen sowas.
Really don't care if you are a purest or not. If you can't really appreciate that car, then I don't really think you could appreciate the original. I sure hope the owner takes a video of driving it hard. Or I sure hope whoever buys it puts that thing on the street. Cant really think of a better_ different motor than that. By the way. My inspiration and passion really was originally for GM brands ( Chevy, Pontiac especially ) Then drove by Pleasant Valley Ford just outside Poughkeepsie NY and saw a new 1998 Mustang Cobra Convertble in triple black. I said to myself that must be the nicest. Looking new American car. I have seen in forever. So I bought it shortly thereafter. Not the fastest car in the world. But it turned heads and got so much attention. I have been through approximately forty or so american rand a lot of imports. But chrysler is the only car I never owned. Lots of Mopar boys where I grew up.I beat all of them with my 1997 Trans Am. Motor replaced by 1971 455 SD motor, bored .60 over. Turbo 400 auto with 2000 rpm stall converter an 4.11 rear end. Heavier than just about every car that raced. But it hooked up immediately. After 90 or 95mph. ol' big block was out of breath . But I shocked all of them every time
Unfortunately the rear wheels are way too big (diameter) and they look hideous, plus the ride would absolutely terrible & equivalent to riding a skateboard. If it had sensible diameter rims of say 18inch max with decent tirewall rubber "which suits that 70's muscle car era" far better - instead of looking like a donk car
Excellent craftsmanship but good gosh those over-sized wheels really cheapen the build. The hood looks great with the vents but the underhood air routing is subpar. Also, a resto-modded interior to the nines with window crank handles doesn't cut it.
Hi I saw this at SEMA I H❤️TE IT😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This thing is amazing I like it more than Kevin Harts 🤔🤔droppa🤔🤔 NICE👍👍❤️🙏😎 Joe from NOSTALGIA HOT RODS 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Having owned a 70 Cuda I have massive soft spot for them, the build quality is insane, every area of the car has been massaged, the fabrication work is outstanding, the endless list of details and design process to much to list. Love the motor but trying to tool around looks like it’s a handful to drive in the short driving shots, idk if it’s the massive front tire or it doesn’t have power steering, but between that and the clutch it looks like a workout and the plugs would be fouling out without it being run through the rev range often! Honestly just my opinion I’m not a fan of the dark greenish/black with the red interior although the interior is off the charts beautiful, because of the body lines I prefer the E-body Cuda’s and Challengers in black like your brothers car. This car reminds me of a supermodel, both beautiful and slightly temperamental she’ll let you play around but will bite you if you’re not careful!
I love looking at the cars. You know,.....art pieces. But im more of a Continuation Competition GT cars. The more you beat on it at the track,....the better they look. But,......im taking nothing away from "Notorious" or "Vicious" ect. ect.. You know what i mean Shawn. 😊
Charley Hutton... didn't recognize his name till instantly remembering his face. poor dude was endlessly shit on by that narcissistic man-child, Boyd, who lost the best talent/skill due to ego & under-appreciating people. overrated turd of a human who lived off the hard work of others & took their credit. glad Charley is still in the biz!
Havoc is cool but I I like this one even more. If I had to complain about one thing which is something I usually don’t do on this channels comments is I wish I could see the engine more instead of all the show car style covers on everything. I get that a show car is exactly what it is, but having a smoothed engine bay , but a slightly more raw engine would have been nice. Killer car none the less.
2:44 ok I get it now. When I saw this car at SEMA I said what the heck is with the dual shift knobs. I knew it wasn’t a lenco or something like that but I couldn’t figure out how it worked.
Shawn you are great at covering cars an trucks just love autotopoia I personally have a beautiful red and white freshly done 72 chevy Cheyenne shortbed with a fresh 461 roller motor with 400 trans 373 12 bolt and beautiful black deluxe trim interior an 20 inch wheels .❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The 70/71 Cuda has been my favorite car since I laid my eyes on cars. But I’m not a big fan of this car or the Havoc. I appreciate all the work, the skill and craftsmanship. But it’s just too much. Don’t like air bags and paper thin sidewalls. Larger rims are fine but there’s a limit. Love the NA R5.
Not for me this one. I can appreciate the work gone in. But those wheels are goofy and it’s all too early 2000’s pimp my ride. But all cars can’t be the same right🤷🏻♂️ Just not for me in any way is all.
Air ride, oversized wheels.... why can't we just keep it simple and not build these cartoonie cars? Nascar engine is sick, love that, but be classy about it... what is this, sema from 10 years ago?
If i was to build a cuda , it would have a 572 hemi with twin 66mm 88"s are are a lil laggy for daily or puttin around in traffic , 88"s for the track & time slips , better cimbo & more hp than asscar motor & pull way harder 20 lbs of boost on a 572 sorry but black lines matter
Rad car " wish I still had my 70" but I can't do oversized pimp wheels on paint roller tires" too stiff feel ever bump with no sidewall. Pumped up hard don't do well in rain as a daily in fla & rim chip in pot holes , put some meat in back because black lines matter" 😮😂
I really can’t imagine what kind of person buys a car like this. I wouldn’t dare drive it. I couldn’t enjoy it. The tiniest scratch from your shoes or smallest stone on the floor ruins it. That’s 100% too much stress for me. Then it makes me winger who buys a car like that and what and what they do with them. I actually honestly can’t imagine what happens with a car like this. All that money and you can’t use it at all🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Let's put ugly a modern constapation green on a classic car, with a chipotle red interior. Those are the colors I find in my pants when I eat to much PF Chang's. I really like the stance other than the tires have to low of a profile to offer a fluid design. I really like the stance and the lowered look was definitely done right. Other than the color combination being tacky, great job!
I've never seen this car drive at more than around 5mph. It's usually just on show stands - might just have a lawn-mower engine hidden under a fake plastic V8 🤣🤣
There's so many things wrong with this car, from the terrible looking engine bay to the ridiculous rear wheels, to the interior. Not sure what the magic number is, maybe 500, where anymore hours spent on bodywork than that usually indicates a car is overly done and no longer nice, like a well done steak 🤮.
Totally agree that keeping more of the Original Barracuda styling looks much nicer, then that over the top Challenger. I’m not of fan of the shroud work over the engine in the Cuda though

Right there with you. I love the small details on this, but the wheels and air ride just ruin it for me. Otherwise, it has a Singer 911 vibe.
Agreed. It's like driving a delicate sculpture that cannot be scratched or dropped. Shame the NASCAR engine likely won't roar much. It's beautifully executed though. But if whomever buys it does let it rip...hats off to them!

Nice car , but honestly a car that cannot be driven shouldn’t be featured on the channel!
What’s next a 3,000rwhp engine that cannot be fired?
I aways said if you put to much money in a vehicle, it becomes worthless.
What good is a car that your afaid drive it ?
I bet Leno drives his F1 more than this thing gets driven!
When you build a car at this level you can do you want, but it's not your car, your money your time so why worry about it.
@baibureh8816
Not worried one bit .
NASCAR engine eh? Sure would be nice to be able to see it... I appreciate the talent and skill that goes into these things, but this is way too much. Just making cars unusable for the sake of making them unusable. I will never understand.
I agree a person either immediately likes this sort of build or never will 💪
Somewhere a stagecoach is missing its wheels.
Charley Hutton is a name I haven't heard in quite awhile. If I'm not mistaken, he used to paint for the late Boyd Coddington. He can definitely lay down some beautiful paint...
Charly painted also the andy leach build cuda that was also on autotopiala

That color combo is too sick! Sweet looking ride.

Agree on the interior. It's a weird classic/modern mix but it just doesn't blend together. And no, I can't afford it either 😀
Nothing beats the shape of a 'cuda , on the other hand not crazy about such a sanitary engine compartment, it reminds me of my low-end scale models kit where too many details were missing.
Would prefer to see more relatable, down to earth builds.

14:44 that crease in the seat would drive me insane. 😂
Good eye. I'm sure that's not the only flaw on that car. Totally unacceptable.
Normally I would say you're nitpicking, but in a 700k show car - yeah it's a flaw.

Don’t drive it because they don’t know how the cars performs. Many SEMA builds aren’t driven prior, just built for SEMA.

Insane beautiful work on this non driving lifetime trailer queen.
So freaking cool they kept the classic style push rod Dodge engine.
Excellent craftsmanship but good gosh those over-sized wheels really cheapen the build. The hood looks great with the vents but the underhood air routing is subpar. Also, a resto-modded interior to the nines with window crank handles doesn't cut it.
What a STUNNING car; love the sound & that color is out of this world. The first thing I thought when I saw that color was gun metal green!
Personally I'm not a fan of "rubber band tyres" on muscle cars.

This is great but can’t beat Joe Rogan’s SickFish…… just looks better in silver
Nice car but I stopped watching due to him not letting you drive it. I get it, the build is expensive but damn.
That is ridiculous! Will be back for the drive. Later Sean.
Nice looking car. That will probably never be raced or driven. Sad
Plot twist: please don’t drive it… it actually has a dodge caliber 4 cylinder in it. Lol
There should be a rule on this channel. If its not ready to be driven…. It doesn’t get any glory on this channel.
You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
You’d have me down down down down on my knees, now wouldn’t you…….
Hitting a pothole with those rims will make you sorry for sure.Interesting look ,that.
I hope yall do a review on the ring brothers rolls Royce build make it happend !!
I would have went with a burnt bronze or goldish interior the red don’t really Jive with me.
The cuda is a awsome car in its original, you dont have to restomod a masterpice in style.
Showcar that never going to get driven 1000 miles during its lifetime :/
Appreciate the content, but you need to deny showcasing builders that deny you the ride.
Sean, did it load up on fuel just idling aroung like that? would have loved
to see ya get into it .
