- Accidentally made some power too by clamping down a hose that had been attached without any clamps when I purchased the car. lol! Also, trying out different downloadable apps to read the fault codes on the project Audi TT Quattro.

Torque pro is the best one to use. I use it while I’m driving to monitor my car. It’s pretty accurate even over Bluetooth.

Vcds is free but their dongle is what you gotta buy from them.

You need to set up your MacBook to run BootCamp, get a copy of Windows 7 that you can load, then you can boot your MacBook into Windows & run VCDS. I've done this on an old MacBook to troubleshoot my Audi Q5. Otherwise, you should just go get a cheap Windows PC laptop just for VCDS use.

Also, found this bit of info for you about Ross Tech VCDS on their FAQ page..........
1.8 Will there be a Mac or Linux version?
There will be no "native" Mac or Linux versions. The time and effort required to "port" VCDS to these platforms would never be worthwhile. VCDS works fine on Apple Mac computers that have Intel processors (all modern Macs) when Windows is installed on them using Boot Camp. Most computers that are used to run Linux can also boot Windows. If you do not wish to install Windows, we now offer a platform-independent version of VCDS called "VCDS-Mobile".

If need be, you can run windows on your Mac, using Oracle VM Virtual box www.virtualbox.org, so that you can install the odb tools. But it seems you are on the right track with android tablet, and it will save your MBP from getting dirty or greasy!

Im loving the boost its giving me but I've also noticed a small high pitch whine coming from my Turbo any idea what this could be? I'm driving a 2002 Audi TT Quattro using a Greenspring in the Forge oo8. I've been thinking of making my own TH-cam channel content and uploading but I think about you and it would be the total opposite of yours things probably wouldn't go as smoothly more bloopers than anything LOL

VCDS is a very good product for diagnostics on Volkswagen. I'm also a MAC guy. But i have also an old 10 inch Windows 7 PC dedicated for that reason. That works nice.
P1297 I thought that was the water temperature code, I changed out the green 4 pin sensor and it cured it, or am I confusing the code number with P1296?? I shall have to get my RossTech info out lol

I use my VCDS software on my MacBook Pro by running a windows virtual machine using VMWare. It sounds intimidating, but it’s really pretty easy.

U.S. Postal workers shouldn't complain about delivering more packages, because that means they're making even more money. For years they've been whining about how email & the online billing have reduced regular stamped mail, but online shopping has made them tons of money!
Its time to try UberEats, DoorDash, PostMates, BeyondMenu and GrubHub, Sarah... also you never have to go get groceries again if you use Instacart... now you can work on your car all the time and not waste hours going to get food... I use those a ton working at home, especially Instacart.

Has anyone ever heard of using one of them smart ride Bluetooth things f from your insurance namely Nationwide and it screwing with the car? I cannot unplug that device because the car will not run without it plugged in. Nationwide has sent me the little bubble wrap to send the two units back to them and I have a Honda CR-V and a Honda Civic the Honda CRV there's no issues the Honda Civic the car simply will not run if I unplug that little OBD dongle. Any advice or words of wisdom would be much appreciated. Oh I should mention I have talked to Nationwide about this they seem so confused they have never heard of this issue they tell me. I'm supposed to go to a certified Honda dealership and pay them to do a diagnostic and if it is found to be the fault of the smart ride device they will reimburse me for the diagnostic payment and reimburse me for the cost it's going to cost to repair I think the computer is what it's screwed up. so it sounds like I'm going to have to Fork out a good amount of money and hope they pay me back within a reasonable time. But I was just curious if anybody out there has had this issue
The DEI stuff is expensive, but it does work. You could wrap the exhaust with their products to help prevent the heat from transferring to the other components too, I use that on motorcycles to help prevent the heat from getting to my leg. It is a leverage extender, not a pump handle.
People spend more money on you than I do on myself 😂 it's suprising how much some people are willing to give to people like you who give us awesome content. And I'm not talking bad about it I'm just saying I'm surprised by it sometimes.
Jared Anthony I can relate, I always said if I was rich I would use my wealth to help people and surprise them with things when they least expect it.
Sarah -n- Tuned I would like to be able to do the same but for such a relatively small channel you must have a lot of darn great people on it. Willing to use their hard earned money to support awesome people like yourself and get you things to help make more content better and easier without as much issue of parts store runs for tools. Some channels seem to only get hate even though they are relatively big even but even for the couple haters you have you have some really nice ones as well that blow me away with how nice or generous they are sometimes.
For me, the decision to send stuff to Sarah was really easy. I've been an auto mechanic all my life and have made a really good living at it. I figured that it's time for me to give back to the industry that's been so good to me. I'm also a tool nut, so sending out good tools to someone in need is a no-brainer, for me. We all want Sarah to flourish on her You Tube channel, so there are my reasons. Plain, simple and straightforward.
Stephen Moxley I understand why. It's just really nice to see people help others whether its Sarah with tools and parts to help make great content or someone needing a jump in a parking lot. I've jumped people who sat there for hours in the heat and had no one offer to help and its really disappointing. Also since you have automotive experience do you have a good cordless light recommendation for working on cars or trucks in the dark? Phone flashlight isn't working good enough lol

I use Torque app if you have an android device it works good. There is a free one and a pay one I think for $4.99. The pay one you can estimate your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times and horsepower to wheels.
Following your videos; like what you are doing. The two car build is a good idea. Could you start numbering the videos so we can ensure we are watching them in order? Sometimes I miss a video (in order) because I cant remember if I’ve watched it before.
You had the "Vtec kicked in" face. Good job getting it running and clean. It looked slow as hell the first two drives but when you installed the hose, it looked like a different car. Have fun with it. Any plans on how to fix the awd?

As of my knowledge. None of the android free or cheap to buy software are not gonna look anything else than engine troubles. I'll think its because safety. What becomes to the vcds not working is just that you dont have geniune dongle. Chinese dongles doesn't work with geniune software. It can not be heard from the video but I'll quess that weird abs feel comes from broken abs ring. Either in the back or the front.
Some VAG cars have bad solder joints inside the ABS pump. That's how I fixed mine.

High flow dp is known for throwing a code and sometimes you can get it to go away by using a stand off to get the wide band O2 sensors to stop sensing too much O2 in the exhaust gases, some owners actually have to use an aftermarket tune file specifically for getting rid of the O2 sensors check Engine code, it can be a real pain in the squeaking squeaker , hope this helps.
Sounds like its your longitudinal or lateral acceleration sensor. If one of these are bad, it will throw the abs light on. Check the code once the abs light comes one and see what code comes up. had the same issue and once I changed it, it cleared it right up! Great content!!!!!!!!!! =)
I dont know how you do it!! I cant get into tt's very easily. You're 3 inches taller than me. It must be my gerth of my belly that's causing the problem.

The vcds didn’t work because it’s a Chinese copy and it will not work with the original software. The person who sent you the cable should send also the corespondent software

VCDS doesn't like cheap cables. The genuine ones are expensive.
Blue Driver OBDII is great with a tablet. Their app is much easier to use and it also does ABS and Air Bag codes

Sarah the small hose only carries vacuum to open the diverter valve, it doesn't matter if the vacuum air is hot or not.

You need a VAG...obdII...code reader for Audi ..most of the readers or Evan the older snap on can't pick up the codes
If you ever come up to Gilbert, I have a VAG 5052 factory scan tool for Audi. Havent watched yet to see if youve solved the oil light, but these engines did have oil pressure issues. Feel free to ask me any questions, I have over 20 years with Audi as a factory trained tech and have a lot of the special tools and manuals.
