Thank you for the comment Rebel soul! Don't get discouraged, most of them can be fixed as long as they were running when parked!

I got a quote for a complete detail job on my mustang and they wanted 500.00 and here you are just throwing it in for free!

Pretty crazy! I know some of those details can get expensive! My buddy owns a very high end detail shop (Think Lamborghinis and a few Ferraris) and it is crazy how much people will spend for a good detail. I am in the wrong business!

Very very reasonable on the cost’s even pre-pandemic prices were $100/ hr in my area, for a good honest reliable technician, not somebody practicing to be a mechanic. I’m a little higher than you on overall invoice but any business has to charge a percentage for overhead and profit or you won’t pay your taxes, upkeep on your shop or keep your lights on, I also charge for pickup and delivery of a bike (enclosed trailered) for bikes that don’t run and drive. I Never accept any bike (project) that’s been torn down even if the customer claims ALL the parts are there, trust me they’re not… especially when missing critical grade 5 engine fasteners.

I did not charge what I should have on this one, but it really is crazy how many people will not touch anything more then 10 years old like we talked about. And I agree, I think even for 100/hr for someone that knows how to work on these Goldwings is a great price! Plus, it'll probably save them money taking them to someone like you at 100+/hr then someone 50 or 75 /hr that will take triple the hours to get the job done. I did not charge for delivery or pickup, but here in the future I will have to. And the last Goldwing Gl1500 I restored was that same scenario. Got it for free completely dissassembled (And had been sitting under a pecan tree, so many leaves and pecans.....) That he stated was all there. I would've been better off buying one that had all of the pieces how much I spent hunting down odds and ends on ebay..... And missing those might be a pretty big problem! Thanks for the comment and the idea on making this video!

Heck I may just have you do it..... That is a very good price for what all you did..... now how long will it take me to drive from central Pa. to your place? LOL!

Excellent. I have a 1998 that I just do upkeep maintenance on and would love to see you do a fork seal job if you ever have the time or inclination. Thanks and I enjoyed watching this series. Cheers.

    Great video!
I just restored a 1991 GL1500 SE with 246,000km. It had been sitting for over 20 years when the owner died. I paid $500 for the bike + trailer. Because it had been sitting so long I replaced almost everything: carb rebuild, timing belts, spark plugs, all fluids, headlight/turn signal bulbs, tires, wheel bearings, brake pads, rear master cylinder rebuild kit, steering head bearings, progressive front and rear suspension, front speakers, windshield. I'm sure I'm missing some parts. It came with a color matches Escapade trailer that I got tires for and all new trim as well.
I found a retired 30yr Red seal Honda mechanic for the stuff I couldn't do.
All part + Labour + purchase of the bike = $5,500.
She runs like a brand new bike and looks amazing.
    Where are you located?
    Keep up the great videos

Man you sure did do everything to it! I had the timing cover off to inspect them along with some other components. I am located in West Texas around the lubbock and amarillo area! Thank you very much for the kind words!

Need to take off the covers and wash the dirt from the chassis and all the stuff under there.

If it was mine I would've! But this was for a customer who just wanted it running!
