Sonic "becoming his own writer" doesn't even scale anywhere since It's just an ability that's bounded by his own verse and dimensionality that has no bearing on his actual scaling. This is why I laugh whenever people try to seriously scale gag characters and such. Being "aware" that you're a fictional character or being able to interact with the authors of your source material are not calculable feats.

This battle was like the ultimate version of "I shot you, you're dead!" "No, I was wearing armor!" "Well I had armor piercing bullets!" "No, my shield melted them" And so on.
That's all these ever are. They are fictional characters who would never be able to do this in reality. They're fun to watch, but at the same time, I hate them because people are comparing stats and feats of fictional characters like that actually means something. Any character can beat any character if they are written to do so.

That’s the struggle, it was basically a question of who would use it first... but the Flash does it all the time 🤣 I think they also mentioned that Sonic isn’t able to “preview” events of the past or future to decide where to land, he just has to go... whereas the Flash can get glimpses to help him pick where to stop. This would indicate that, even with both of them having this cheat code, the Flash is better at using it.
I mean he was also up against a character who can outrun metaphysical concepts like death itself so they're both pretty absurdly busted in their own respect
To be fair, at least this time it makes sense considering the characters. Green Lantern vs Ben 10 however should have ended a different way. I agree with Lantern winning, but the finishing blow was stupid. I know Death Battle animations are just simulations and don’t represent how an actual fight between said characters would actually go down, but man, they should have done better with GLvB10
Green Lantern can’t beat Ben 10, or at least no time travel, there was a time effect in the show that I forgot about but it allows Ben 10 to detect a ripple in the time stream, but even then, Green Lantern only used time travel once.

You left out the part where the flashpoint paradox basically made it so Wally never existed, but he survived because... he's faster than never? (Yes sometimes gullible, but gullible and stupid aren't the same thing.)While Donkey Kong is a crash-and-bang smooth-brain puncher. Fantastic animation on this battle! Having them fight inside the Speed vortex is totally amazing! I grew up more with Sonic but I’m a huge fan of both characters. Very well done! Truly inspiring and dramatic work on this event!

Its a quality moment that highlights that these heros, while often one dimensional is certain aspects, are capable of handling real life issues that plague our society today. In this case it the criminal miss handling of mental illness and the effects it can cause.
I didn't have all the info on West but once I got it I knew it was over. If he can alter energy to be something he can pass through, chaos means nothing. He can steal speed, and so many other things. They didn't even touch on if he pulled Sonic into the speed force where he has complete control over the laws of reality pretty much.
Do they perceive time in the same way that we do? Or are you referring to how long the fight would have actually taken if it wasn't obviously "slowed down" for us to watch? Because if the latter, you can probably try snapping your fingers and they'd likely run the entire battle a million times over before you finished.
I think about that kind of thing a lot. It's part of the reason why I like the part in Samurai Jack where a drop falls before a fight & lands afterward so you can tell how fast it all really happened. Also, the Bayonetta mission that takes place on the side of a midair truck launched by an explosion & inches from crashing into a wall.

So I don’t know if this is a popular opinion or not but I strongly believe that this episode should’ve been the season finale. Given how close the match apparently was it being a season finale probably would’ve allowed for a more in depth conclusion as well as a longer fight which could’ve shown off some of these twos more insane abilites.

At this point time travel is basically a cheat code.
That’s the struggle, it was basically a question of who would use it first... but the Flash does it all the time 🤣 I think they also mentioned that Sonic isn’t able to “preview” events of the past or future to decide where to land, he just has to go... whereas the Flash can get glimpses to help him pick where to stop. Coming into this I thought sonic would get his speed stolen but couldn’t be killed so he just kinda lived as a statue for the rest of his life.
I didn't have all the info on West but once I got it I knew it was over. If he can alter energy to be something he can pass through, chaos means nothing. He can steal speed, and so many other things. They didn't even touch on if he pulled Sonic into the speed force where he has complete control over the laws of reality pretty much.

You guys ever wonder how long the battle ACTUALLY took from their perspective?
Do they perceive time in the same way that we do? Or are you referring to how long the fight would have actually taken if it wasn't obviously "slowed down" for us to watch? Because if the latter, you can probably try snapping your fingers and they'd likely run the entire battle a million times over before you finished.
I'm talking about the battle time for us if it wasn't slowed down, but yeah you're right to them the battle lasted as long as it did for us.
I think about that kind of thing a lot. It's part of the reason why I like the part in Samurai Jack where a drop falls before a fight & lands afterward so you can tell how fast it all really happened. Also, the Bayonetta mission that takes place on the side of a midair truck launched by an explosion & inches from crashing into a wall.
