Hey. Already changed brakr pads on my previous Honda CBF600. Worked simple and easy and sefl-explainimg without any knowledge from youtube. Now I tried to change rear pads on Honds CB600F Hornet 2009 and there is a rubber cylinder seal as shown in 0:37. Tried to screw-off the 12mm screw but i torn the rubber seal (was covering the nut head). Can I remove this rubber without damaging it? Somehow pull-off?
I accidentally rounded off the rear bolt, can only get to it with a regular spanner. Probably because I have ridden in bad weather and the bolt ceased on. Either way be careful doing anything with them, the small mounting bracket I now have to replace costs £65 new! the whole caliper is a few hundred!
+Warlock 5822 Yeeaaaahhh, the rear bolt is key, the front is an optional pivot point. Some manufacturers actually produce dimensionally accurate tools. Some others don`t. Here is a little more: th-cam.com/video/39ahpcfWOEM/w-d-xo.html
can you show it? I understood your removal instructions but would like to watch you do it. I have same caliper on my honda160. I checked another video (cbr 600 with similar rear brakes) and the guy removed axle and wheel. He was rebuilding the caliper. If you could record yourself performing the removal, it would be highly appreciable.
Not identical but the same 2 bolts come out at exactly the same spot, similar plug and same pin holds brake pad tabs. th-cam.com/video/x7eyiGeLbuY/w-d-xo.html
Same chain. Try to get a smaller rear sprocket (1-3 fewer teeth) and a bigger front sprocket (1-2 more teeth), if anybody even makes them. Try JT Sprockets. Or Sunstar. Check out my video "Go faster by changing sprockets", - number of teeth and other changes are better explained.
Hi, I have a problem with removing my rear bolt. I loosened it but cannot take out the entire screw. It's all loose, but it is impossible to flip up the caliper. I tried to screw the bolt even looser by removing the rubber, but still could't get out the screw so now my caliper is all loose and the rubber can't be put in again without removing the caliper....
+Maxim van loocke Here is one similar brake caliper worked on. The caliper has to be pulled towards the exhaust to get that bolt out. th-cam.com/video/x7eyiGeLbuY/w-d-xo.html
+theoverengineer my bolt is not moving and I damaged the nut at the end of the calliper, the one that it's pivots on, also, the front but I kept loosening and yet it don't come out at all the both I can see it holds on too moves with it, is this normal?
Nothing here is normal. Remove brake pads using a properly fitted 5mm hex socket, turned squarely not slanted. The loose front bolt needs a lot of pulling against the vacuum sucking it back. The caliper body will come off the rear stud bolt. Remove busted bolt with the proper size wrench bought not from a Dollar Store but made by a manufacturer who can actually make dimensionally correct wrenches. Wrenches are to be turned squarely when fitted onto bolt head properly. Get a replacement bolt from a real Honda dealer and let a competent Honda mechanic put the brake together. Don`t risk your life over a bolt, stay safe.

It's just friction fit into a groove in the caliper body. Dirt and time destroy it, it is thin to begin with.
Thanks

You cannot remove this way the top nut is attached to the pin and does not come out you need to remove axle and remove complete

Ur very helpfull with all your cbr 125 2011 info thanks. Any tips if I am doin long distances onit what chan and sprocket to get.
Should the rear disc brake pads stay touched with the above positioner clamp or it should have some gap between them?
Thanks for the video is very useful. I can't remove nut off see the position on the clip at 0.20 sec. please advise.
You might have a better chance doing it from the other side through the wheel

those thin metal thingies where do they go?
?
I got it. thanks. those thin clip don't go together. I thought that thin clip goes to the other clip but they're separate. took me hours and I googled
i took my wheel off to do it and i pulled out the 1" long rubber thing on the brake caliper and i cant get it back in any tips?
Stuff it back with a screwdriver without cutting into it. Wet the rubber plug and hole, few drops, not a soaking.
my dad managed to do it, i bent the brake bad getting it in :/ thanks
Oh, no. ... that`s costly ...
