Let's go!
It’s scary how addictive this series can get
True, even though we all no that most of it is bullshit.
It’s 03:30 in the night and I can’t stop 😩
all the episodes are the same
I just watched one ep and now im on my 6th
Seriously 🤣🤣
Lisa's restaurant was a huge success, after this episode aired.
Obviously Lisa was pretty young and open minded for Gordon to help her.
She extended his menu and used Gordon's base to become better and better.
As we all know, Gordon stopped Kitchen Nightmares after the high rate of failing restaurants of this show.
In my opinion the producers should have focused more on young restaurant owners, like Lisa.
Many owners from the show were middle aged or older people, who already had a certain mindset and stubborn personality.
Gordon had no chance in turning them around for the long run.
Also their depts mostly were too high and progressed, there was no way to get out of this.
But turning young people around and making their restaurants a success would be more easier for Gordon and also more sustainable.
You put it well! Strange they didnt see that with the age mindset, makes so much sense to teach the younger ones!
Its simple why they only work with these old stubborn people.... Money ... Ppl watch Kitchen nightmares to laugh and Entertain, they want drama and you getnthe most drama with old stubborn ppl that are aggressive.
@@marlinb.308 Yes $$ is the key the truth behind almost everything, ha yep the old stubborn ppl. cheers
@@morguetheunholy
You can also make money with the show with young people as restaurant owners. I didn't say everyone of them will be successful because they are young. I meant the chances of suceeding ones would more certainly be higher. There probably will still be some douchebags out there, no matter their age. At least it would be an idea for a possible future Kitchen Nightmares. Because the high rate of failing restaurants was the reason why Gordon gave up. I can understand that, it's probably really frustrating for him to put so much effort into something that most of the time has it's final destination in a bin.
@@NimbusDE No worries i understand ya, cheers man.
Not only has Lisa made a huge success of Lido, catering for the likes of Audi, Marvel and Merrill Lynch, she’s also expanded by buying a new restaurant in 2017 and both have come through the COVID lockdowns and are still open as of 19 October 2021.
Wow 👏
She's the last survivor
That's awesome. I'm happy for her
That is so cool💖
Woww that is so good
Fun Fact: This restaurant is one of the few restaurants still open today. Lisa really changed for the better and still owns the restaurant. The menu has changed over the years though she has added cattering and private dining. Unfortunately Lisa fired the bar manager and the head chef. Then added some new dishes that were inspired by Gordon and the menu is changed once a year to add and remove dishes based on popularity. Lisa also opened up another restaurant called Playa Hermosa Fish and Oyster. All the restaurants average a 4 star or higher rating.
Except Amy’s baking company
Is there a reason why she fired them?
Why is it unfortunate she had to fire two people if her restaurant did better as a result?
She's one of the few who took his advice and has been successful to this day. Power to her. Gordon's proud.
Because she has daddy’s money to support it
It’s very ironic that Lisa was the most inexperienced owner Gordon had ever met, but she was the most polite, most respectful and eventually most successful out of all of them.
There were more polite ones, but she is one of them
@Skunky Stinkerson true

Amazing how Lisa is quite easily one of the single most clueless and ignorant owners at the beginning of th episode that this show has ever had. But because she was one of the most polite, willing and eager to learn she has one of the few places STILL OPEN to this day in the shows history. She clearly took what he said very seriously and practices it
She has another restaurant too!
Also, she's young and a fast learner. She realized that stay away from problems won't fix anything. Gordon basically asked her to face her demons which is the problems that she's always avoiding and she did it!
every other owner : big ego or not doing their job of monitoring
That makes her hot & sexy, too
And she opened a new 4 star restaurant called playa hermosa in 2017 which translates to beautiful beach❤

Guys update
Lido di Manhattan is still open and operating to this day! Much to my surprise, Lido di Manhattan seems to have made a full recovery under the watchful eye of Gordon Ramsay.
There are other restaurants from KN USA that still open today, or at least, until before the pandemic. But yeah, it's so rare still. Other example is Yanni's Greek restaurant & that other restaurant which had the son of the owner dancing while biting a table. Those two restaurants are still open.

Gordon revisits a year later, business has increased by 20% and Lisa has fired her boyfriend Damien, the bar manager.
There are new dishes inspired by Gordon including a Mushroom Flatbread.
Lisa has also expanded into Lido brand wine, catering and private dining.
The restaurant hosts a number of events including wine tastings.
Gordon revisits a year later and they cook a dish together. Gordon is impressed and tells her to keep up the good work.
Lido di Manhattan is open and continues to be very successful.
Thanks. That’s great. Hope she continues to succeed.
Why'd she fire him?
Thats good, good thing it didnt closed down.
you could see she had the potential, just needed guidance and Gordon gave her that, good for her!
i was wondering if they would not gonna lie i was saying they fail but i was wrong
You could tell she was gonna be successful. Just by the kitchen scene, where she was carefully watching Gordon and asking questions, trying to understand. You dont see many owners on this show display that kind of curiousity and interest
when gordon looked the orders one thing strook him ',farting pudidng' then his fears were confirmed when lisa farted into the bread pudding and called it gormet
Bruuuuh i love how supportive her staff is! The way they're so happy with the changes and new POS? She's got a very good set of staff who doesn't work just because they have to but because they also want success. Wow
She was, at the beginning, a little help- and clueless. But she treated her staff kindly. Sometimes aa little bit more distance would have done better cause they are at last employees and not your friends. But overall: She is someone you want to work for. She saw the business is not running but didnt blame her staff on it but looked at the fact: She has no experience. She could be the issue. I really like her. And she was a quick learner. Great woman.

This episode is a testament that young minds like Lisa are open to change and adaptability. Lisa was teachable and did not resist change. Look at how successful she is today. I like the way Gordon coached her 👏👏
Gotta say: love the way Gordon dealt with making her fully digest the issues with the restaurant: he made her look at it in a Business way instead of a "My Business" way, and it was both a good way for Gordon to judge how aware of the issues she was, and a good place for her to start thinking about step-by-steps on how to make things right
I actually like this episode. We have a owner who wants to learn. Plus , she is not bad to her staff. So this overall is a reformation and NOT a screaming-yelling-cursing one hour.
The down points were her breakdown and the chefs walking out. Everything else was very positive.
The breakdown of hers was quite understandable because she may not have considered herself a princess but really, come on.
The chefs should have known better and she would have been perfectly in the right to fire them instantly. But it sounds like she forgave them and they redeemed themselves so that's great.
Noticed that most of the owners in Kitchen Nightmares are always middle age people who are too stubborn? Meanwhile, Lisa who at that time was 28, realized her fault and asked Chef Ramsay what should she's done. She opened up to criticism and even Gordon tasked her to be in kitchen at one day.
@margarethmichelina5146 Why is that? Is it like "you can't teach an old dog new tricks?"
It's awesome to see a success story in kitchen nightmares. Lido Di Manhattan is now a very successful restaurant more than 10 years after this episode was recorded.

Honestly I miss these fixed dates to watch something. Nowadays you don't have those situations anymore where you meet up with friends or family to watch a series that only comes out every Friday on television. Exactly… I don’t think Lisa deserved that thing with calling customers in to look at the dirt. She worked for what she had but she didn’t have experience and that’s why she asked for help. There were restaurants with TERRIBLE HYGIENE that deserved to be closed down without a second chance on this show. I really felt bad for Lisa.
Exactly that was really overreacting from Gordon.

One thing I really really really love about Gordon of all the celebrity chefs he focus more on the quality of everything above taste and look. You have no idea the impact this man made on my life and I don’t even own a restaurant, but every time I cook, I get all my ingredients based on his standards, I cook following his standards , then I add the things I like afterwards but quality man .. like for example the dust scene I was like “ it’s just dust over the frame why is he overreacting “ and then he said “ it will fall on the food” and I was like sheesh I learned something .. this man changed my life to the better!
Lisa just needed a little push. To be honest, more universities should include some sort of mandatory internship/industry placement so folks get to see what's coming after all the theoretical stuff. Plus, she seems to never have had a boss herself or someone to teach her before Gordon came to help, so how the heck is she supposed to know how to do this?
Yup. Strange, that it seems she doesn't go through industry placement, I could be wrong though, and perhaps she simply wasn't exposed to a restaurant business beforehand. At least she learned, albeit the hard way, and happy to see she is successful now. Proves that Gordon's programme/show has the ability to turn a restaurant business around in spite of the many failings of restaurants in his show.
thanks carolin i agree totally: it used to be called "apprenticeships" in my day.. whatever we call it, unless you know the basics of how a kitchen service operates, have a real training program and focus on encouraging staff, nothing happens...
training is still the key, which is really learning from experienced staff who want to share... that's the "perfect circle" that many, many smaller businesses never establish. gordon has 7 michelin stars.... 7... he told her the truth (no-one else did in that place... trust me). it was hard... she showed real guts pulling it together... more power to Lido Di Manhattan :)
peace. thanks for reading.
Most reasonable thing to do would be to work in restaurant for few months or a year to see what's what before opening restaurant. If she couldn't do an apprenticeship, she could've tried just simply getting a job. She seems really lovely, genuine, eager to learn and kudos for opening a restaurant in such a young age, but I can't get my head around the fact she thought the staff will tell her when things go wrong 🤦🏼♀️ she's the one who should keep an eye on everything, including staff.
@@astrid341 yes, thats purely a monitoring thing, but theres a bit more to it in busy kitchens.. quality control is where food businesses fail or succeed...
gordon actually praised her for being "on time" and a "fast learner" (he really means she isnt a lazy owner-manager which you can get in all trades).
leading a service (that's serving over 100 people per shift has to have a strong captain at the helm). ... you've got to love what you do if you work in kitchens, people can adapt to the pressure, but if you dont thrive on that, you're probably in the wrong job... peace. thanks for reading.

34:03 to 34:04 chefs bad-mouthing their boss... is just frustrating. Loved the way Scott walks into that kitchen..that’s a leader’s walk..you just see attitude and experience in that walk…Inspiring!!!
Yes 😊
How mamy owner crying because gordon helping them, its like a roller coaster, first going up, then going down. And now its down, but in the end is going up and blow your mind. U r amazing gordon i love you
14:00 thats the most brutal but also the most eye opening thing can happen to any owner
gordon is like the OG of cooks...
gangstas call their homies when sh*t hits the fan and they pull up in numbers...
gordon just calls a random chef, when he needs someone to handle the business...
lmfao thats a really cool way to put it
Why this doesn't have more likes 😀
But Scott was not random 🤔
Chef Scott a real one fasho
I'm like 70% sure Scott worked for Gordon when this episode was filmed, he was a sous-chef on Hell's Kitchen through the first 8 seasons.
This woman was more focused on being a women who owns a business than a good business owner
well put!
We wuz fem-owners n' sheeet
Gotta boost the ego some how
Nail on the head.
The reason why this business struggled/struggles... Owning a business or having money means absolutely nothing if you don't know what to do with it.
The first 3 minutes of this episode said it all.
@@babalonkie well since after the show she’s been the most successful
Gordon gave her a dose of reality that paid off in the long run the restaurant is still in business matter of fact she opened another one both get excellent reviews
23? Looks 43. (wish these videos was named after the restaurant and seasons / episode. Pita to find one you haven't watched before)
Funny when Gordan tries to feed the camera crew 😂
did she really let the cooks that left stay...? Unreal.
Surprisingly, when Gordon revisited one year later, they're still there.
Gordon: "How are you!"
Him: "Damian."
hey ;)

You're not the only one, haha. I was also hyped-up when I saw him.
The cameraman shaking the camera is sending meee 😭😭😭 6:26
she's so proud to be the owner, she's forgetting what she owns.
Computer: Oh come on! After 30years of service, is this how you guys treat me????
