Too bad they closed down less than a year later after Sharyn left to make her own dessert company ("The Cake Lady Desserts and Cafe "). Restaurants already have hogh failure rates, then you factor in a lot of these places have astronomical debt.... and the few just looking for free publicity and a new kitchen
@@kelvs45 Problem is that culinary school takes time, and the restaurants need to improve things in under a year if they don't want to shut down entirely. Having the head chef away for a year wouldn't help the business.
You do realize that most of these people were just trying to make their money back? So that they can then later sell the restaurant and come out with plenty of profit? These morons thought most restaurants were meant to stay open forever omfg I can't with youtube comments...
A lot of the restaurants are past the point of saving when he arrives. Mostly he's hoping to give their business enough of a boost that they can sell it and pay down some debt.
Exactly. The guy is obviously going through something. I think if this show was made today, it would have shown his situation through a different lens.
I thought that. You can see it in his face. Gordon should have advised him to step down to sous chef and hire a head chef. Maybe that way they'd have survived. KN brings a tear to my eye at times because there's a human ordeal behind the madness going on in the kitchen.
Oh yes. There are a few people on KN that manage to impress Gordon, not just professionally but personality-wise as well. And IMHO, Chef Ramsey is secretly admiring all of them.
Customers are allowed to complain if their food didn't show up when you ordered like an hour ago. It wasted their night and it could've been someone date night and now they have to reschedule.

I am not a chef, just a basic cook and I have learnt so much from these video’s of Chef Gordon Ramsay, it is my personal opinion I think Chef Gordon Ramsay has a big heart and a passion for cooking and is willing to pass his expertise onto others and I think that is a good thing. People just need to listen to him, to absorb the information he gives out to execute the situation in hand.

So sad, when a man who is clearly passionate about something, just loses all interest. I heard the restaurant closed but I just hope he’s doing well and is happy.
One thing if not anything at all I’ve learned from watching this show, is that your food comes first. Always. And if Chef Ramsey tells you the food is not on par, it’s probably not on par. Don’t ego challenge it, don’t make a fuss. Don’t sit there and wonder why your business at a fail. Because the answer is right in front of you. You have to be open to change. Learn, and execute.
me and my ex wife had a tradition of going to a restaurant just because of the fresh pasta. when they expanded locations they stopped making fresh pasta. we asked them why and they told us they were too busy to make it anymore. we never went back to them and the tradition ended just like that.
my family used to go to one specific pizza place where they made the best dough. The Italian owners had an amazing old pizza oven that just made everything taste special, plus we loves the family that ran the place. We went there two times a month. At some point, the family had to sell bc they were all getting old, and the new owners didn't use the old oven anymore. Never went back there. I heard the remodeled place went bankrupt within weeks.
imo it’s just that desserts are usually harder to mess up, it’s meant to only have 1 or 2 tastes, which is mainly sweet. Unlike main dishes that have many different tastes/dishes
@@randomperson-pf1vq yeah its alot harder to mess up deserts than main dishes since for desserts just make it sweet and you have probably got it right, but the main dish has alot of different flavors it can be
@YAP WIEN Moe I mean brownies are amazing, but add some more salt. Or maybe salted caramel and I think its even better with a salt savoury flavour as well
Perhaps he WAS a good chef. But time passed and he just ran out of steam. I've seen this happen in many professions. People lose drive, lose touch, stop being hungry for competition and success, lower their standards, become complacent, increase their margin of error and abandon quality control...it's a slippery slope, and is all too real.
Bro Shayrn is frikin hilarious. Ik she probably didnt mean it but the complements and the fact that she told him she was divorced just makes it bad bro 💀💀💀💀
I was a chef in the UK for 30 years and never once did I feel I wanted my own place. You have enough to juggle being Head Chef never mind owner/Chef. So many fall by the wayside.
Yeah you really don't need to own your own restaurant to become successful in life or to fulfill your dreams. I am just saying if you wanna own a restaurant at least know what your doing and have the passion and know how to handle stuff. If you can't then just don't. You will regret it later if you can't at least do these stuff
To think that one person can walk in to a kitchen that is falling apart and whip up dishes that good in a matter of minutes is astounding. That speaks volumes about how talented Gordon is as a chef!
Every episode goes like this: Chef Ramsay comes into restaurant, tries food, says it's shit. Revamps the whole restaurant. The owners and staff fall in love and Ramsay has an emotional time. Then, the night of the re-launch, they get busy and Ramsay starts talking shit to all of them cause "something" goes wrong. All of a sudden they get back on track, share a moment. THE END
He said the customers don't know what he's going through and it's "just not a compassionate business" call me crass, but personally, I don't care what the chef is going through I'm giving you money. From a customers perspective, I'm not going to throw a pitty party for the guy and ignore the food being cold, slow or just bad because he's having a bad time.
That is crass, honestly. I'm not saying he should be given a pass for bad food, but the attitude of not caring whether someone is struggling because they're meant to be providing you a service is unempathetic.
I'm not a fan of that comment. Yes it feels funny, but that it feels funny tells us we are total hypocrites with double standards. If Gordon would have made that comment about one of the waitresses he would have been instantly cancelled, and rightly so.
Τhat guy was not arrogant like other people we ve seen in other episodes, he was just crashed by stress anxiety and possibly depression. All those affected him
Tonight I have watched more than 6 episodes, each 40 minutes minimum and you know what, the only thing I love about this videos is seeing people without hope and exhausted turn to be successful and have a happy ending. The Second thing i love about is the transformation of the restaurant and team work. This is making me to have a restaurant on my own one day. Thanks to chef Gordon 👍.

Too bad they closed down less than a year later after Sharyn left to make her own dessert company ("The Cake Lady Desserts and Cafe

The is so heartbreaking.

Yeah, feel so bad for the guy, he said he wanted this nightmare to end, that's so awful feeling like that and having to keep going
I thought that. You can see it in his face. Gordon should have advised him to step down to sous chef and hire a head chef. Maybe that way they'd have survived. KN brings a tear to my eye at times because there's a human ordeal behind the madness going on in the kitchen.
i really felt it when he said he was miserable… really do hope he’s doing okay.

*Saddest ,,WHYYY" I ever heard Gordon say*
me and my ex wife had a tradition of going to a restaurant just because of the fresh pasta. when they expanded locations they stopped making fresh pasta. we asked them why and they told us they were too busy to make it anymore. we never went back to them and the tradition ended just like that.
my family used to go to one specific pizza place where they made the best dough.
Make it yourself. It is really easy! Just google and TH-cam a recipe. It is worth it.
Exactly right. Dry pasta is cheap and tastes like dried pasta. Why anyone would accept dried pasta is only because they never tasted fresh pasta!
Some ppl get lazy + greedy!
I feel like if Gordon likes the food, it's always a dessert. Maybe he just a sweet tooth XD
imo it’s just that desserts are usually harder to mess up, it’s meant to only have 1 or 2 tastes, which is mainly sweet. Unlike main dishes that have many different tastes/dishes
@@randomperson-pf1vq yeah its alot harder to mess up deserts than main dishes since for desserts just make it sweet and you have probably got it right, but the main dish has alot of different flavors it can be

lose drive, lose touch, stop being hungry for competition and success,
lower their standards, become complacent, increase their margin of
error and abandon quality control...it's a slippery slope, and is all too real.

Can we talk about that risotto, though? I would pay to see it in a circus. It would be the mainline act.
He said the customers don't know what he's going through and it's "just not a compassionate business" call me crass, but personally, I don't care what the chef is going through I'm giving you money. From a customers perspective, I'm not going to throw a pitty party for the guy and ignore the food being cold, slow or just bad because he's having a bad time.
the customers shouldn't need to know any of that personal stuff going on, they're there for a meal not a pity party
He's there to provide a service we as costumers pay for, why should we care WHY things are shit, that's his problem.
As the well-known saying goes:
"if you can't take the heat, - get out of the kitchen".
He can go and cry a river elsewhere.
That is crass, honestly. I'm not saying he should be given a pass for bad food, but the attitude of not caring whether someone is struggling because they're meant to be providing you a service is unempathetic.
