And all being changed too fast by Gordon. Imagine Flamingos to Junction. How does it feel for the family? If you own something you worked hard for and everything’s being changed by Gordon which a good choice but it’s your life’s work. The theme junction doesn’t fit them. Felt so sorry for Bill. He could have retired and enjoyed the rest of his life, but because Adele feels bored, he opened a restaurant for her and not only did she completely fked it up, her actions showed how ungrateful she is to Chef Ramsay, her team and her own husband who did this for her. She said she is worried that her customers do not like it, yet when her customers express that they love the change, she just goes "SCREW THEM". It is always about her. What a disgusting selfish human being. Bill deserved better.
Probably because most owners think it’s just simple logistical stuff. They don’t think that the way they act can also be a variable so they fall in denial when they are confronted with the fact. And then They stop listening to everything else because they realize they are the stupid ones. This is just an observation from watching 4 episodes and seeing the pattern of the conflicts that take place. What’s your take?
@@papermachevolcano1480 Yeah, that's always the scenario in the US seasons, but if you watch the UK ones (older, less production value and with Gordon as the narrator), you can see other reasons on why a restaurant can fail despite having open-minded. It just creates less drama, which is what the US seasons are going for.
The failure of this restaurant was down to one person, the foul mouthed, ignorant old lady who believed she was a successful businesswoman. She believed she was better than her staff, certainly better than her husband & daughter. Why she agreed to taking part in the filming is puzzling. That was one of the most depressing episodes of kitchen nightmares. When the fire dept lit the flame to the bonfire it needed something extra added to the pyre. A photo of the little old witch wearing blue. Fortunately this restaurant closed. Apparently with in days of Gordon’s departure she started redecorating the place recreating the mess that Customers hated. Way to go Adel.
Adele: Gordon Ramsey cuts trough the crap and that's what we need. Cue in a few changes by Ramsay... Adele: I hate it! I don't like the salmon, it taste like fish!
I can understand not liking salmon. Not everybody is into seafood. However, it's clear she was just throwing a tantrum because she wanted things her way and her way alone.
Biggest issue seems to be that bitter woman Adele.. she has a terrible attitude, very cynical and rude... she was the only one that seemed mean to servers, customers, Ramsey and his efforts.. etc
Saddest thing is, she probably was a nice person when she was younger, don't think Bill would have married her otherwise. Old age can really make a person reluctant to change.

Actually in revisit episode, they went back to old ways but their business was more succesful and Adele was not as negative as this episode was. And later, the restaurant get closed and both of Bill and Adele retired for good.
"Sometimes the customers complain, but the customers are liars!" Really a disturbing view into Adeles mind really. I'm right, and everyone else is always wrong.
Who wouldnt want to go to a restaurant so you can read a menu for the first 30 minutes. Sucha good idea to have a 100 item menu with 3 people in the back. Like most of the problems the restaurants in KN have are the owners thinking that as long as they themselves like the food and decor, its great.
I got so emotional when Bill made her smile in the end. Seems like they are really Jing and Jang together, they are positive and negative but that apparently fits
Funny thing is? What's the one thing this episode was missing that is in basically every other episode of Kitchen Nightmares? The kitchen breakdown and Gordon flipping his shit because of how horrible it always is. They didn't include it because Bryan kept his kitchen in good shape. He might not have had passion but he absolutely had decent standards. They probably would have thrived if they let him take the reins of the kitchen.
A hero? Really? He doesn't do it for free. He knows most of these places will still close in the long run. He does it because he's an excellent business man. It keeps his name out there, helps advertise for his other businesses, and brings in loads of money. Sure, it MAY help some businesses in the long run (ones actually willing to change), but MOST of these failing restaurants WILL fail, because the owners are usually stubborn and lazy. And Chef Ramsey knows this.

Tbh some of the stuffs may be memorable to her. But yes she is from a generation way back so it's arguably the best option to close down business and retire with their earnings and pension. From my experience, most old person are resistant to changes, like my grandma who passed away without even getting/wanting to know anything about smartphones or entertainment or anything that is modernized. And i know you and I would too when we get older. This is why most jobs doesn't allow 60 or even 70 aged people to work anymore because they are living in their own world.

Adele was just running it for herself. She was so damn selfish, dragged her family into it, didnt seem to care about making it successful, because she "didn't like the colour" etc. She acted like a spoiled teenager the entire time, disgraceful. Adele is far too old to be acting that way. She covered her nonesense by saying she did not think the customers would like it. All those other people depending on its success, and all she could think about was herself. They had families of their own to feed, bills to pay... the way she talked to the staff and customers was disgraceful. I'd love to see her try it with me, I don't care how old she is, I'd verbally take her apart fast. She got handled with kid gloves just because she is a woman and old. Just...ugh. Such a control freak. Just a gross way to behave, she put her daughter's life on hold, and was happy to sacrifice her husband's health for what SHE wanted. They were given then biggest chance ever, had money that was not theirs poured into the project, and she is so f**king spiteful that she complains about everything. Of COURSE she appointed her poor daughter as management, rather than someone who might possibly tell her no. Adele should be ashamed. If that was me, I'd be literally jumping up and down in joy to have all that done for me. And yes, I know it's not me in that situation, but what kind of example is that to set for her daughter? I would do EVERYTHING in my power to make the business amazing, and solidly set up, so I could turn it over to my daughter, and set her up potentially for life, if she wanted it. Who makes their forty year old child stay in their house and refuses to "let" her bring over a lover? Good lord, Bill deserves a better partner than her. I seriously hope there is something about her in her private life that I didn't have the chance to see. I really do. Just something to balance it off, you know? Some mitigating circumstances, something sweet or loving about her. Anything to hold onto, to redeem her character. Because otherwise, she just comes across so badly. It's such a damn shame.
I love it how ungrateful people are, literally get their restaurant re-docorated professionally, all new equipment and furniture, a new menu created and designed by one of the best chefs in the world and free publicity from the TV show and they still have the audacity to say that they don't like it. @@papermachevolcano1480 Yeah, that's always the scenario in the US seasons, but if you watch the UK ones (older, less production value and with Gordon as the narrator), you can see other reasons on why a restaurant can fail despite having open-minded. Just...ugh.
