For reference to here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I'm looking at renting a room in someone's house for around $1,200 a month. The room also functions as the house's laundry room, and this is considered a great deal in the neighborhood.
It is a great video and very informative. The only thing I would like to have clearer is the prices of houses and rentals, as areas and townhomes, if they exist in Vietnam
Thanks for the comment and question! It is a bit difficult to answer as there is extremely large range. Rental houses starting around USD $500 per month up to $5k+ per month. I would be happy to give further estimates based on your rental preferences (size, location, number of bedrooms, etc)

I watch many videos about cost of living per month in Đà Nẵng and Vietnam, but only saw one talks about healthcare insurance in Vietnam and quality. It would be nice to talk about health care cost and quality in Đà Nẵng comparing to US, and Ho Chi Minh. This is very useful info for people like me considering about living in VN as escaping winter in the US. Also provide info on: - Security, rent contract, do you need to apply for driver license or US driver license is sufficient? - Urgent care cost, Doctor care quality, rent insurance?
That was quite good, especially having the number of different views . Maybe even diversify a little more a little higher (under $4-5k/mo) and lower (under $1k)?. Still, this was if value and I appreciate your style too. Also, please include the Negative aspects, just to stay honest ? Aloha from Maui 🤙😎
Thanks for the comment, Jim! There are 3 main ways for long-term visa or temporary residency (investment, employment, marriage). There are quite a few alternative solutions as well! Would be happy to discuss this further anytime. info@cvr.com.vn
There is zero chance that DaNang has any advantages over the US…except cost. If you have money in the US you would not even consider moving there. The medical care is suspect and the language barrier is something to consider.
Everyone has a different opinion on the matter! Many people are looking to leave the US for a multitude of reasons - politics, safety concerns due to violent crime, affordability of healthcare, etc
@@CentralVietnamRealty I guess if you dislike democracy and like living in a communist, one party system with substandard healthcare it might be for you. Crime depends in where you are in both countries, where the US might be higher in violent crime but other crimes are higher in Vietnam…if you believe the government’s numbers. I’m 60 and never experienced any crimes and I’m from NY.
USA is not a democracy. It is an oligarchy, according to Princeton University, over 10 years ago. The rich Oligarchy has bought all the politicians. USA is one of the world's most corrupt country in the world and corruption is legal. The New American dream is to leave America.
Agreed with you, but let me give you a statistic: you almost do not see shooting when living in Vietnam even 5-10 years but each year has 14,300 shootings in the US, about 41,000 people died/year
I'm afraid to step foot in Vietnam because of all the negative reports. Is there really "good quality" food in Vietnam? Supermarkets in shopping malls? Public transport infrastructure? Is the tap water safe to drink (boiled)? Are there pickpockets & thieves everywhere? Are the food in the restaurants (if any) safe to eat? Is the airport customs/immigration going to be a problem coming in & going out?
Thanks for the comment Shoiku - of course these items are relative to where you call home and your own personal opinions. I believe you will find that there is a growing food scene in Vietnam that is rivaling Thailand. International supermarket/mall brands are here and have been here for decades. Public spending on infrastructure has been and continues to be one of the Vietnam government's main focuses. Water should be purchased and can be delivered to your house weekly. Vietnam in general has extremely low crime rates No issues with customs as long as you have a valid visa and passport. Hope this helps!
I can see why you guys want to live in Vietnam because you don't want to pay a lot of money don't want to work hard. You want a safe neighborhood and don't have worry about making your own food. Why don't you do more community work instead of...
Having lived in the Philippines, everyone western people and even Filipinos always says the VISA problems in VN this 3 months then have to leave VN just for a few days is simply RIDICULOUS and backwards and can prove expensive, when your older people do not want that…hence they prefer the Philippines easy visa immigration system…

These prices are way too expensive!!! ... it is like some realtor is trying to up-scale all the rentals prices to make money in top of the real prices -- typical tourist scam

This video provides only useful information for foreigners who are rich or who are paid well for jobs which they have in Vietnam. However, the video doesn’t provide the true cost of living of the local Vietnamese people and should not be used a guide for all foreigners to follow its advice. Please research carefully about the culture, weather, people, crime rates, quality of life such as transportation, hospitals....before moving here.
Thanks for the comment Coutmientay! It is definitely good advice. We recommend all tourists, investors, residents to do their own due diligence before moving or investing anywhere!
Now some of the cons. Virtually no night life, major public safety hazards worse than even in HCMC, medical care is not good, k-12 education system is no good unless you pay $15,000 to $20,000+/year for international school, foreigners cannot own property (only 50 year condo leases but no land leases), cars are much more expensive than in the west and many Asian countries, overall pretty boring for long term living for a foreigner.
As a Vietnamese, it’s a shame to say the undeniable fact about Vietnamese and Vietnam. Vietnam could be better if the people stopped throwing garbage everywhere, served food and drink in a sanitary manner. And last but not least, they have got to stop scamming and stealing. The culture knits and shapes this slum mindset for hundreds of years, if not thousands of years. And the saddest part is that this mentality continues to pass down generations to come. The same goes for the overseas Vietnamese who don’t assimilate with the new culture.
You are so negative! Every country will go through growing pain from a 3rd world to 1st world country. Just need a little more time to develop. Stay positive especially you're Viet.
@@NicolasD414 I think he belongs to 3 traits (Republic of Vietnam). Currently in a certain country. They have no goodwill towards Vietnam. While I see people wanting a better life.
@@altran1125 Who cares what happens in America or other countries! It’s their problems. For example, they defecate and urinate on the streets in India, is it okay for Vietnamese to do that too? They smash and grab in America, is okay for Vietnamese to do that too? They throw garbage everywhere in Philadelphia and Mexico, is it okay for Vietnamese to do that too? Vietnamese are better than that, don’t you think so? All Vietnamese got to do is to stop throwing garbage everywhere and stop scamming and stealing, then tourists feel more safe and welcoming. That’s going to increase tourism and money in pockets.

It would be nice to talk about health care cost and quality in Đà Nẵng comparing to US, and Ho Chi Minh. This is very useful info for people like me considering about living in VN as escaping winter in the US. Also provide info on:
- Security, rent contract, do you need to apply for driver license or US driver license is sufficient?
- Urgent care cost, Doctor care quality, rent insurance?
Thanks Phu - these are some great points! Stay tuned, we will cover them in future videos!
Great video.. I’m also interested in health care costs. Being in my 50s and considering retiring in Danang. I’d like to hear what those couples do.
@@djinvnretire in vn i heard lots of bad story ! I did consider it myself but not anymore
@@nl5657 have you been there? I have. I loved it. Not sure what you heard or have experienced.
@@djinvn i been there many times and heard and know some retirees that move there to live after 1-2 years then go back to usa
Surprises that medical and dental costs weren’t mentioned. For 60+ yo, they would be items that we mostly concerned.
Thanks for the comment PTL! Healthcare video coming soon!
Thanks for the feedback Mauimixer! Will try to work these into our next videos 👍
Speak about visas for retirees please.
Thanks for the recommendation!
make another video from retirees.. US retirees are looking for affordable safe places to live..
Thanks for the advice Ozzy! We will get it on the list!

Good content
Thanks Mr Anderson!
No retirement visa
How do they stay long terms?
Thanks for the comment, Jim! There are 3 main ways for long-term visa or temporary residency (investment, employment, marriage).
There are quite a few alternative solutions as well! Would be happy to discuss this further anytime.

Avoiding people like you, maybe?
USA is not a democracy. It is an oligarchy, according to Princeton University, over 10 years ago. The rich Oligarchy has bought all the politicians. USA is one of the world's most corrupt country in the world and corruption is legal. The New American dream is to leave America.
Agreed with you, but let me give you a statistic: you almost do not see shooting when living in Vietnam even 5-10 years but each year has 14,300 shootings in the US, about 41,000 people died/year
Hello from Paris, France !

Vietnam in general has extremely low crime rates
No issues with customs as long as you have a valid visa and passport. Hope this helps!
LIFE IS NOT ONLY FOR CHEAP FOOD,CHEAP SERVICE.
Some people can’t afford much and WE who don’t make that much YES cheap food and service means something in life for us poor people..
You still need a lot of startup money but after that you’re good to go..I don’t have that kind of money wish I did America’s getting crazy!
Philippines definitely has some advantages but unfortunately not the healthiest food
@@kris13iam True Kris, to be honest and since 1987, I have found the majority of people there untrustworthy, yes they smile at you, but SURVIVAL is always on their minds, and that is natural of course, but they look at the FOREIGNERS as a plan to get goods or money, unfortunately this is a sad fact, now Kris people will say not all, true again, but having lived in China and Korea, the percentage of Filipinos exceeds the number of other Asian countries and peoples, you will never be one of them, your always be the foreign OUTSIDER, and for the Pinay ladies you can never be number one, her FAMILY will Trump you every time, despite what she tells you, it is deep in there DNA..and the Filipino family is all powerful as the saying goes there…UNTANG NA LOOB…good luck ingat Ka.

It’s for cheap people and extremely terrible weather in rainy season and dangerous storms. Hcmc is way better.
love this vlog
Thanks Tuan! Much appreciated!
so why locals don't increase prices ? ie. rent prices could be higher ..
There are some areas and buildings which have higher rental rates - generally these are more luxury condos and villas around Da Nang
wow
Hay
Bs they are talking about rents over $1,000 usd. Been there many times
$400 to $500 tops for nice one bedroom
They want you to think compared to the ridiculous us market so you buy their inflated condo prices
Thanks for the comment Jim - agreed there are a lot of nice condos in the range of UDS $400-$500!
That being said there are also a lot of expats living in more luxury accommodations where rents can reach into the thousands of dollars per month.
Lots of variety and options in Da Nang for all sorts of residents!
These prices are way too expensive!!! ... it is like some realtor is trying to up-scale all the rentals prices to make money in top of the real prices -- typical tourist scam
@@GlobalWorldNews1 as a licensed and audited brokerage firm, we can assure you no such things are happening here at CVR
sounded to me like the only relativly smart guy was the 250 dollars appartement guy out of the 3 single ones because no one it talking about why a guy and his dog need a 3 bedroom villa even if you were getting paid a billion a month xD

$400 in utilities ? I pay less than that in California
Thanks for the comment Iwo - Vietnamese summers can be hot!! Keeping a 5 bedroom home cool and a pool running full time can be costly - even in Vietnam

Letzte Woche war ich in Polen, habe ich Urlaub gemacht dann finde ich meine gestohlene Stäbchen wieder 😅😅😅
Thanks for the comment!
Yeah living there is great if you love leaving every 90 days lol
It's totally embarrassing when you don't properly phonetically pronounce the name of the city in which you live.
Thanks for your comment Gary - some points are well taken!
Healthcare in the USA is worse because no one can afford it and even if you can, you rarely get real help.
I just hope Vietnam doesn’t become ‘cultured’ like the west.

Vietnam has changed so much since! I would recommend giving VN another chance!
very informative video, I was thinking to relocate to Thailand or Malaysia but I think Vietnam is more affordable, safety and multicultural
Thanks for the comment Harika! There are definitely a lot of perks to Vietnam!
Mày đéoo phải người Việt Nam
Liar! you're as real Vietnamese as 3 dollars bill 😂😂

Who cares what happens in America or other countries!
