San Diego California here. Average home price is close to $1 million dollars. Thank you so much for your informative and helpful video. I am a recently retired American man with a Social Security pension considering moving to Vietnam. At the risk of being presumptuous may I suggest Vietnam cut two or three zeros off the end of their currency? Once inflation is under control within a country, as it seems to be in Vietnam, this is easy to do. It would make it a lot easier for expats and tourists to integrate into your country. Finding out your currency is worth over 25,000 Dong to one U.S. dollar is disconcerting at best and makes it arduous just to count out money. Vietnam would be so much more attractive to westerners and their money if the exchange rate were 1 to 25 instead of 1 to 25,000.

I love the food, but I've only had Iowa version! Lol. DaNang sounds like a budget-friendly paradise, with no cruel winters! I live in NE Iowa, and a single person can get along ok on $2500/mo. BTW, in general, most median income monthly mortgages cost less than a decent rental here in the U.S. Midwest.
Xin chao to one of the most pretty of TH-camrs ever have I seen 😃 Great video presentation with a beautiful smile. This is an important topic for me as well as others. Good job. But luckily we have the lowest property tax in the nation (but also the 3rd highest property costs in the country) There you go
Just read on some Facebook group.. About electricity being so expensive. I thought having watched other videos that roughly £50 a month extra for electricity I've just read that one guy was charged 500 dollars I'm preety worried now, I wasn't expecting electricity being so expensive
Might add...you might have booked it, but they will have listing's in other places with different prices and you might turn up to find they cancelled it cause they got better offer, they will make up some bs, end story deposits mean nothing to them.
Hi nice video, just wondered did you have to commit to say a 6 or 12 months contract to get that price or is it on a rolling month`s basis and do most apartment's come with all the utilities included in Vietnam which is great or were you just lucky...
Another great video ! I’d love to live there however I have 3 German Shepherd dogs and my parents are here I couldn’t just leave. However… plane fare isn’t that bad and visiting 2-3 times a year might be possible for me later on this year… just waiting for somethings to work out and I’ll be good for $ no problems
About $5K/month you can live comfortable in Boston but you need to bump that up to $8k if you have kids. This is depressing...I would love to know how much a very nice 3-4 bedroom home in Danang cost? Near the beach with pool and yard please!
Haha I know that apartment, the interior design was one of the best I've seen here but I just need a separate room to work and sleep so kept looking:)) But I love it here, except brutal temperatures during summer
What's chilling is why prices in the West have gone up so much because of Covid, and how the West has deteriorated in day to day living, especially here in North America. It is so ironic that we all want to move to developing countries just to get by and have a decent life. Sorry for the slightly political observation but cheers to Da Nang!
My rent alone in my Canadian town is $1700 CND a month, before utilities. If I included utilities, other bills and food I'm sure it gets quite close to $2500 a month, and that still doesn't include any entertainment outside of the apartment. I'm actually traveling to Vietnam this fall for a few months with the idea of planning out a possible (very possible) move there, as I'm very done with the cost of living in my country, among other things. I was in Vietnam in 2011 so I'm interested to see what has changed.

Vân😀, cho anh hỏi: thời tiết ở Đà Nẵng cuối tháng 6 và đầu tháng 7 có mưa không vậy? Cảm ơn em 😀
What about health insurance? Short trips. Saving
I love Da Nang!! We currently in Hawaii and cost of living has sky rocketed to about 6000usd$ month now, We will move back to Vietnam soon to HCMC where my wife is from or Da nang cause the beach and surfing is great....
Wow! That’s very expensive
Apparently a LOT of people are steering away from airBNB for various reasons,
Wait...I noticed that you did not include your cost for surfshark in your monthly cost?
Also what about insurance? Taxes?
Very good information Van!
Nice video 😊😊
I am keen to do the Da Nang tour you have coming up in August.
I think da nang is relatively affordable 😊compared to ho chi
Hi Van! Geez I pay over $1,500 just for a one bedroom apt here in Houston not counting the bills.
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Great Video, we need another video about the night life and entertainment in Da Nang it will be helpful
I'll be there very soon. Thank you for this video :-)
Love all the information in this video! 😊
Nice one❤
I was only able to stop by Dang for 1 hour on my recent trip and already in love with this city, this is where I will pick up on my next trip. 4:37 LOL
Van so nice seeing you back on TH-cam! I’d love to do a tour with you. You would be an amazing tour guide. Welcome to da Nang. I love it there.
Awesome! The Travel with Van tour will start in August, please sign up to this link whatthephovn.com/list-tour/travel-with-van-10-days/
Wow ! 500 us a month, everything included . Although I would prefer something outside the city because im a country boy from northern Vermont
Where is the local market in Danang that does not chop expats?
how about health insurance or hospital? you never know what happen when traveling to new area. by the way , cost of living in San Jose is about 6K/month
3.7-4k USD a month in Los Angeles. I'm pretty far away from retirement. Inflation is insane here.
Besides rent & maybe transportation id say the rest are close to the high prices in new england, america. Its better uber isnt there as its getting expensive. Good seeing your videos again
First time viewer, hello from Michigan, US. Look’n at Rach Gia first, as I prefer ocean sunsets vs a sunrise.
thank you Van. Da Nang is beautiful place. Great to know the all the detail of the living expenses.
Hi Van! Did you move to Da Nang recently? I am also Van, and am currently living in Da Nang. I have been following your videos for years, and would absolutely love to meet up with you.
That's awesome Van... good to known up today cost of living in Vietnam. Hopefully when it time for me to retired the cost won't be crazy inflated.
Oh, means you just moved over to da nang? Weren't you based in HCM? I was in da nang recently, lovely city, looking forward to more tips from you about da nang
A 2 bedroom apartment in my area of London costs $3500/ month excluding utility bills 😮
I pay almost double than that just for my car! Great video and all the reason why Danang is on my radar for permanent stay
Awesome Keep up the good work and videos.
Midwest.
Xin chao to one of the most pretty of TH-camrs ever have I seen 😃
Great video presentation with a beautiful smile. This is an important topic for me as well as others. Good job.
Vs Honolulu Hawaii USA 🇺🇸
Studio condo: $1900
Food: $600
Public or hired transportation: $600
Electric: $180
Water: $40
Home Internet: $70
Cellular Phone Service:$80
General Excise Tax (sales tax incurred on ALL sales and labor): 4.71%
Phew 😮💨 WAY more expensive than many other places in the world 🌎
Hawaii has the highest electricity rates/kwh in the country. But luckily we have the lowest property tax in the nation (but also the 3rd highest property costs in the country)
There you go
Could you do a video on purchasing a place as opposed to renting. Can foreigners even own property in V N❤🇨🇦
500 USD is quite a princely sum for a studio in Danang.
not in Saigon anymore? Am in Phu My Hung, D7, Saigon and it's almost $1500 a month here... definitely looking for somewhere cheaper!!
Em đang làm việc HN. Nghe chị review xong em nhớ nhà tại ĐN. Cuối năm em dự định về lại ĐN 😂
Great Content
Living in Manhattan which is the most expensive place in the US compared to most likely Vietnam the cheapest
WOW. WHAT A DIFFERENCE
No biddet with the toilet? Can I install one?
The work table is very small. I need something that can hold 2 32" monitors and laptop.
For me here in the Tacoma, Washington area about $2100.00 so I can live for 60% less in Da Nang.
For $2500/mo you live like a wealthiest person in Da Nang and much warmer too
You pay 1700 my dude where in Canada? There is NOTHING in Toronto for under 2k:) Because of Toronto I am here and for me its wonderful
@@mikhailsaa7506 I'm in a town 45min outside of Ottawa. Toronto is the most expensive place in Canada. You can be anywhere else and it'd be a little cheaper.
@@SimpleLivingForever Indeed. Though my intentions would be to not spend as much lol. I'd try to get my monthly costs around 1200 a month.
Very informative, Vân!
Is it the same cost in Nha Trang? Thanks in advance!🎉🦋👍🏼
I am seriously considering moving there ! Could i hire you to give me a tour if i come ? would love to learn more !
Food and apartment price seems correct. Which place rents a motorbike for $40/month?
I appreciate your kind share. Thanks VÂN
Spokane, WA...inexpensive compared to Seattle. Have lived here since 2001..came back from 9 years in Okinawa, Japan.
