QUICK UPDATE!! Some good news, our app engineer just pushed a new software update to the beta version of Pro Camera app which does let you use your Moment lenses (M-Series or T-Series) on the 3x for the Pro or even the 5x Periscope lens on the Pro Max! Thanks all for the notes about this. After many tests though, we won't consider the tele on tele compatible. The lenses work, but just like we saw on the 14 Pro Max, if you put a Tele over the Tele it'll be a mostly blurry image and hard to get objects fully in focus. The 1x main camera lens on the 15 is just such a better camera sensor so much better results. We'll post some more videos next week with new tele footage so stay tuned to see what we mean
A brand doing an ACTUAL honest review on their own product with pros and cons. Crazy. Will subscribe to the channel moving forward. Trust & transparency is so important when it comes to supporting brands.
Just sent my 12 Pro Max off for recycling, great to see that my M-series anamorphic lens works with the 15 Pro and isn't completely useless. The extra distortion can be seen as artistic!
It would've been nice to talk about the lenses in regards to video. I use the 14 mm fisheye M series and was hoping that the T series would automatically adjust to the iPhone 15. I always have to hit the little flower so it doesn't keep going into macro mode. I'm also considering the 18 mm for shooting vertical videos so I don't have that distortion that I would have on .5 with the iPhone.
I think it would be better to set up a list of lenses on the app settings for quick selection when shooting. It is necessary to choose from available lenses, for example, to combine a new anamorphic lens with an old portrait or wide lens.
Just posted an update but does seem the 3x will work pretty well! We were a bit mistaken, but still wouldn't consider the 3x or 5x lens as super compatible by our standards
Must be the new team because prior, they used the moment app and forced the 3x lens to work where here they used the native camera app and by default it tries to use the main sensor instead of the tele
It’s insane how hard they’re pushing this new lens and mount system. All over the site there’s mentions of how much sharper these are versus the M-series. As if to say “Hey, you know that pricey set of supposedly future-proof lenses you already bought? By our own admission [“not nearly as sharp”] - those totally suck, we make them better now so please buy again, thanks”. Do you know what the most versatile and useful thing you can attach to the back of a Moment case is? The 67mm filter mount. To harness the full power of your new phone’s sensor and camera array, use real, actual filters on your phone, interchangeable with your camera (if you have one). No individual camera gets blocked. Get a black mist filter, get a VND filter, screw those on, get a lens cap and you’re well on your way. The 15 Pro Max has a new 5X Telephoto lens, there is almost no need for the nonsense featured here.
@@martinohesse Yes, and I have the anamorphic lens, and the filter adapter that goes on it. I don’t use it very often, but I’m going to keep the M-mount plastic thing on just in case (and then I’ll attach that separate filter adapter too). I’m not going to buy the whole new T-mount system and lenses, plus I already have 67mm gold and blue streak filters for the flare look, it’s just not anamorphic.
Thanks for the video. Questions: 1) the part about not working on the 5x tetraprism - did you try on moment or another third party app that allows hard select? In the video you show the native app, which we wouldn’t expect to work properly anyway for tele on tele. 2) the new fisheye looks slightly less wide vs M series. Could be the framing being different. Thoughts? 3) will y’all make the photos available for us to view / compare? The video resolution won’t do full justice to compare the actual photos and understand the differences. 4) setting aside question 1 above, I’m assuming 15 pro (that is, not pro max) users will be able to use lenses over their 3x. Do you have results for that? For example, the 1.55x M series really didn’t work on the 3x - soft across entire frame. Does the T correct for this?
Thanks for questions!! And for watching 1) We're updating the app soon but none of our testing so far is showing any luck. Our drop in mounts still include a mount over the tele just in case. 2) It's still a 14mm, so likely a slight framing difference. 3) Sure we can start collecting a ton to have public somewhere. Right now in the description is a link to our full review, which has the full res photos uploaded. 4) The 2x works via the main camera, but the 3x tele acts the same as the 15 pro max. The macro is the only lens that'll works, but you then are about a foot away from the subject to fall into focus. Maybe it is software, but we are assuming the new tele hardware is the issue right now
@@jonnysalami0711 I’m not sure, I’d imagine not since the principle tech is the same. I can not find any examples with the S23 (ultra) that’ll be the closest example of a similar periscope.

Great video! Thanks so much! When I purchase the moment phone case, do I need to purchase the lens adapter or it come with every case in your website? Thanks ❤
I guess the reason for moment lens not working on the 3x or 5x Pro ones would be more attributed to IPhone 15 Pro and ProMax uses Main Camera in the night mode if the light is less. So there is a good chance that having a lens on the Tele Lens would be tricking the IPhone into similar pattern. As seen on 2:05, the whole screen turns black that means it is using the main camera sensor which is blocked by the lens.
Yeah, Moment needs to be very careful with photographic terms. They have been notoriously sloppy in the past which doesn’t breed confidence in the potential customer base. FWIW iPhones also don’t have “zoom” lenses either. They may digitally crop - but if the optical elements don’t move, it ain’t a “zoom” lens.
Considering the T-Series for concerts. How's the zoom in low light settings like that? Is it adequate? Also, how close can you zoom if the lens doesn't work on 3X or 5X?
I’m trying to get a universal mount for my M-Series Lens because it’s annoying to buy a case for every upgrade. However it’s not available on your website and you let me know when it’s available for purchase.
I use the M series on my “Old” iPhone 13 Mini and the new T series on my iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. This gives me the opportunity to still have the same look across all of my phones. ❤❤
the sharpness difference is really very noticeable in these samples, its like night and day, and yet all the videos I have seen in months gone by with old M mounts, the images all looked great and sharp, so what gives?
T-Series was released this year for the larger camera sensors. The m-series was edge to edge sharp for YEARS, but around the 13/14 we started to see some vignetting
Mobile photography with external lenses was dope in 2013, but now, iPhone lenses are so improved, so you can shoot straight with them without any adapters, so better focus on filter adapters and other gadgets! External lenses is a past, as mirror cameras, dial phones and huge computers. Anyway I love your channel and you guys! Keep it real!
I'm a photographer and I recently bought iPhone 15..just to be a phone..but more I look into it..I may buy T-series tele and anamorphic to make some videos when needed..especially when iPhone video capabilities got so far :O
Great stuff this year really but…. Moment Pro Camera app still doesnt’t have horizontal menu! Its that like that a couple of years! Is so weird why?! Frustrating all the time…
I dont have that much edge blur on my i15pm. Just uploaded a video using 1.33x m series gold anamorphic in my youtube. Its working, that too with 14pm case cox i didnt order 15pm moment case yet. Also waiting for T-series reviews before ordering them.
How come y’all didn’t test the lenses using the Moment app? Of course the native won’t let you lock the telephoto on the pro max but the moment app does so you could have tested the telephoto lens on the telephoto camera more accurately.
Why I will NEVER do business with Moment again. I ordered the newest T-Series case, drop in mount and anamorphic lens for my iPhone 15 pro max only to pay and find out that Moment couldn’t fulfill the order. The lens was now on back order for like 2 weeks. So they shipped the case and mount. The case is extremely cheap! Well not in price as they charge $40 for the POs case and $5 more for the cheap ass plastic drop in mount! When it came time for them to ship the lens as the order stated they said they didn’t have any lens yet and hoped it would ship the following month. That didn’t work for me and I asked for a full refund. They refunded the lens and then sent me the return email for the case and mount. Now it says they are charging me $10 to return something I never opened or used! On top of that you have to print their return label and packing slip! $10 to return something I never used and on top of that I have to pay to print out a return label. Not because I didn’t want it but because Moment couldn’t fulfill the order I paid for. Welp, that will definitely make me never purchase anything from Moment again.
Everywhere out of stock these new T-series. I can't buy this lens in Romania from absolutely nowhere! The only seller sent the fault on Moment that you are out of stock. Really?! 4 months after the release of new iPhone 15 is still out of stock and still preorders? I avoid buying from your website because i have to pay VAT taxes. Is not any way i can buy in Europe?
Here’s a question .. I hear the t series tele lens does NOT work on the iPhone 15 pro native camera at 5x …. But what happens if you use a third party camera app like pro cam ? Will it work with that ? If so at what strength? 10x ? What about using the moment camera app ? Will it work at 5 x there or better ?
I wish there was an iPhone lens that could do a snap-zoom without losing quality, or even a regular manual zoom, like what some of the older AVGN episodes used, specifically the Ninja Gaiden and ROB the Robot episodes.
will I get money back to trading in the "bag" for the moment M series lenses? Assuming the bigger lens DOES Not work with the older bags. Talking about the two pack bags that was purchased separately.
@@momentdid you guys mount the m series using a t series mount? How were you able to use a m series in the iPhone 15? I thought from now on case will be exclusive for t series
Just upgraded to iPhone Pro Max and tried my Moment-M Telephoto and was disappointed initially. But then I viewed this video and the pinned comment RE the app update and I'm back in business. Now to find that pair of Eagles nesting...!
Man, I got a drawer full of old Moment lenses...it made sense when there was one camera on back of the phone. But now everything is done with AI and post processing. This seems like a giant waste of cash these days. Especially in the current ecomony. Don't believe the hype people...let me save you some cash.
yeah, I used to believe that hype as well. But smartphone cameras have surpassed the need for add ons like this. That is why the company shifted towards regular cameras so hard a few years ago. Even they saw the future.@@Mistygio
@@CoreyHall the need for lenses on smartphones has not diminished nor increased. I have never bought a moment lens but I think now is a good time especially because iPhones camera is finally good this year. If I were to put the 58 tele lens on iPhone’s tele camera, I would have something similar to a 10x telescopic zoom on iPhone. That is what I look forward to trying out. I would be able to get results that I couldn’t get using any other smartphone other than that one Xiaomi phone that also has a really nice 5x zoom.
that's amazing if you have stuff you are happy with. Personally I have not had that experience with the lenses I have actually purchased except for maybe the Anamorphic because that is a specific use case lens. @@Mistygio
M series tele lens was always out of focus for me. If I locked focus and stepped in slightly it was sharp on my subject but tap to focus never worked by default. I use the pixel 6 pro.
If I buy the lenses separately and I have an iPhone 14 and 15, do they work without problem for both models? I understand that I would only have to buy the moldings and cases for each iPhone, right?
Thanks guys. Love this video. I am thinking of trading in my M series wide and tele for T series anamorphic and fisheye and keeping M series Macro. Will u guys do another video with showing videos filmed with different lenses on iPhone 15 Pro Max native wide?
Does this mean moment will be going back to supporting galaxy users or is moment going to stick with being iphone fan boys? I am about to leave moment lenses due to no support after promoting and using them since 2018. The point for me the conviance of not having to use and extea attachment to put on my phone. In otherwords the universal attachment is a joke and a huge pain to use. I have been a huge fan of the quality of my images with using moment lenses but after the S10 came out the support has been going from very supportive to none at all. Keeping the cases for the galaxy vases are still useful since filters can still be used. But those are no longer available, which is so unfortunate. I just hope my case doesn't break any further since I can't get a new one. 😕
So wait . . . Is it simply not possible to slot the moment tele-lens over the phone tele-lens? Also, if the moment tele-lens only gets quality shots from the 2x phone lens, then are we paying about $190 (lens and case) for something that the 5X periscope phone lens was already able to do? Which is really only to ask, does the moment lens provide an advantage which the iphone doesn't already possess? If so? Great! 🙂 But if not? Then what is this product even for?
I am actually sorry that you made the t series. The difference is honestly minimal and the fact that bunch of them don't work on newer phones even when you created them to work with new phone. I am pretty sure it is a downward trend when it comes to people buying mobile lens. Moment should probably put a bigger focus on other stuff that they are doing. Especially when the price of cases and shipping has gone up quite a bit.
Isn't it possible to explicitly select the 5x lens in the Moment application? I'm seeing the same issue using the iPhone native camera app on my 11 pro native 2x + Moment Tele, but Moment's app works just fine with the same lens setup.
The results with M Series 58mm on Pixel 7 are quite similar, for those who wonder what that would look like. But tbt I like the "Vintage" look from the M Series quite a lot. But be aware that you sometimes just get a blurry picture when focusing on a subject in the far. The 18mm on the other side is still great with a bit of falloff at the edges. It's similar to the ultra wide of the Pixel 7, but you will use the better camera. I love my old lenses and I'm very excited to try the new ones. Hope that we will get a mounting option for the regular Pixel 7 soon. ☺️
I have pixel 7 pro, will probably get 8 pro later. Do you think it's worth getting M Series 58mm lens? I can get it fast. For T series I would have to wait for international shipping, but it's ok if the imagery will be much better. My gf has iPhone 12, but she wants a new one as a present :)
👎That video is totally false, you want to put it as the best lens (T), the best is false, the (M) series produces good results, it is not necessary to change to the (T)
@@moment still have nothing and you said this two months ago. This is an area you guys need to improve on. Thanksgiving has passed, and Christmas is about the past. Mid January is not a fun time to get lenses
We're still waiting ourselves to get a final production one. The flaring you see in this video isn't final either. But we'll do a full Anamorphic video soon, but it's the same results as the 1.55x
2:46 thought that was the whole point of these series of lens, so they be compatible with the newer phones? Why not just get the older version for cheaper?
The M-Series lenses were designed when phone camera sensors were around 12MP, and now that phones like the iPhone 15 Pro Max are 48mp and Google Pixel 8 Pro 50MP, the T-Series lenses were designed to look best on newer phone model cameras
I really don't know anything about it and I am looking for a good zoom lens for the iPhone 15 pro max. What I want is that I want to be able to zoom a lot further with the video camera, if possible, and with decent quality of course. Where do I use this; at the football, at a concert and at Tomorrowland. The problem is that I always stand very far away to film, I don't like standing in the crowd. That's why I need a good lens for video camera zooming (with a suitable case) for this for a maximum of 200 euros. Which is good both during the day and in the dark.
I'd recommend the 58mm Tele lens www.shopmoment.com/products/tele-58mm-lens-t-series/tele-t-series ! Also I shot at Tomorrowland with this exact lens in this video here at 03:55 th-cam.com/video/usA29I2pJ5k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hPC1jAYwJCxCt2iY and got great results! Hope this helps 🙌
Can you explain why we are unable to use the zoom lens? I heavily use the zoom lens on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and 14 Pro. I was planning on purchasing 4 T-series lenses, the 58mm, 2 anamorphic and the fish eye. If I’m unable to use these lenses on the 5x zoom lens then I might just skip the iPhone 15 and the T-Series lenses.
Please send your t series lenses to iPhoneographers for him to review. It would help to have his objective review since I’ve seen several others seem to mention that the moment lenses have gone down in quality and even with the new series the images aren’t quite as sharp as competitors…especially on the edges.

You'll need both an m-series and t-series drop in mount to run them on your 15 promax! If you'd like we also have the universal lens adapter that you could run without a case
There will be some vignetting with using some of the older M-Series lenses with newer phones. An easy fix would be to punch in a little bit while editing to compensate for that :)
A new lens ( tele ) that doesn’t support the 15 pro max 5x capabilities is a deal breaker … if anything I’ll just stay with my m series lens , if I’m not getting more out of the new then than what the m series can already do
Just sold all of my M-series lenses (I had all of them), because I see no point in using them on 14,15 and future iPhone models, the image from original camera are good enough. New owner of the lenses with the latest Samsung galaxy S is really happy, it boosted his photos drastically. He said, even 200mp is not good enough optically, and software is glitchy
will the moment app be updated to use the 5x lens? surely the external lenses would work then? ps, please stop calling it a periscope lens- its a prism lens, not a periscope lens :)
Actually 🤓 it’s a “Tetraprism” lens that’s based on the periscope lens with how it uses reflected light to sustain a longer path for the image sensor. This being a 4 stage reflection that runs parallel & not vertically because Apple has to it their way of course.
Technically, a periscope uses at least 2 reflections to redirect light, so Apple's "Tetraprism" is technically a periscope compared to most single reflection "periscope" lenses in other phones.

Is there a thread adapter to combine that one with the T-Series 1.55 Anamorphic lens on the iPhone15 Pro Max? Is that good for taking video with an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16? I'm looking for a 150 degree+ wide angle lens for taking some snowboarding video
Do you need the phone case and adapter as well? Or does the lens just mount onto the phone?
Still have M series lens from iPhone 12 but the phone cases being 50 USD just to make the lens compatible made me put them for sale on marketplace
Nice review.
Now I’m going to order the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
When we were out filming this our app team was still working on the newest update for us. Just posted a pinned comment with an update though!
Great to see can’t wait for my case to come in
Why I will NEVER do business with Moment again.
Will T series work well with Pixel 7/8 Pro? Will it be better than M series? Mostly interested in 58mm
When will the trade in program be back, if it ever does? I haven’t upgraded to the iPhone 15 yet 😂
will I get money back to trading in the "bag" for the moment M series lenses? Assuming the bigger lens DOES Not work with the older bags. Talking about the two pack bags that was purchased separately.
If I'm looking for a fisheye for the iphone 13 mini which series would you recommend M or T?
I’m in the jewelry business and i have a 15 pro max, will this enhance my video quality for diamond shine ?
Nice. Looks like the T-Series has gotten rid of the distortion issues in the Anamorphic lenses. 👍🏻
M-Series used to be edge to edge clarity but the phone sensors got so big! T-Series should be a few steps ahead now again
@@moment what letter comes next when the phone sensors get even bigger?
Ah I see. Makes sense. These look brilliant. @@moment
I agree with you since the phones are so professional that they do not need to adapt a moment lens
If you think that, then I guess you have no idea why Moment exists. You are not their target audience. They are targeting photographers
yeah, I used to believe that hype as well.
Does t series and m series have different bottom size?
Thanks guys. Love this video.
I am thinking of trading in my M series wide and tele for T series anamorphic and fisheye and keeping M series Macro.
Will u guys do another video with showing videos filmed with different lenses on iPhone 15 Pro Max native wide?
definitely!! All this month we'll be focusing on mobile, so lots to comeeee
Is this not available for iphone base models? Am using 15
Just wanted to know if macro mode in the native carema app has to be on off ALSO which lense fits best for taking pictures of jewellery? Thanks!
Yesssss!
woohoo!
Do T- Series lenses work on iPhone 12 Pro Max?
Also, if the moment tele-lens only gets quality shots from the 2x phone lens,
then are we paying about $190 (lens and case)
for something that the 5X periscope phone lens was already able to do?
Which is really only to ask,
does the moment lens provide an advantage
which the iphone doesn't already possess?
If so?
Great! 🙂
But if not?
Then what is this product even for?
Please update the moment app for us to video in different aspect ratios
Will the T-series work on the Google Pixel 4A?
I am actually sorry that you made the t series. The difference is honestly minimal and the fact that bunch of them don't work on newer phones even when you created them to work with new phone.
I am pretty sure it is a downward trend when it comes to people buying mobile lens.
Moment should probably put a bigger focus on other stuff that they are doing. Especially when the price of cases and shipping has gone up quite a bit.
Isn't it possible to explicitly select the 5x lens in the Moment application? I'm seeing the same issue using the iPhone native camera app on my 11 pro native 2x + Moment Tele, but Moment's app works just fine with the same lens setup.
when are they going to be shipped? it has delayed twice now

will do it for the real king of photos? pixel 8 pro?
@@myroslav6873 In this case I would get the T Series. The image quality is better and you are more future proof.
@@My123Tutorials Thanks for the reply! You're right, it makes sense to buy a newer lens.

Is there a reason the T Series 1.33 Anamorphic Series wasn't shown in this test video?
We're still waiting ourselves to get a final production one. The flaring you see in this video isn't final either. But we'll do a full Anamorphic video soon, but it's the same results as the 1.55x
Idk, call me crazy but the distortion on the m-series just does it for me.
Can I get the m slot of the iPhone 15 pro max case ?

@@momentgreat, thx

I have M series and T series lens and 15 pro max. Do you know if the drop in lens mount are same for both m series and t series or I have to buy both drop in lens mount?
I was looking for an easy option to interchange the m and t series lens. Is there an option to do that if the drop in lens mount are not same for both the series?
You'll need both an m-series and t-series drop in mount to run them on your 15 promax! If you'd like we also have the universal lens adapter that you could run without a case
Can you please share the link of the universal adapter that can fit both the series lens?
trying to make the M obsolete? even sadder as they stopped making a case for my s21 ultra...
On the M series, I am getting a shadow on the edges. What can I do to fix that?
There will be some vignetting with using some of the older M-Series lenses with newer phones. An easy fix would be to punch in a little bit while editing to compensate for that :)
@@moment thanks again. I bought both mounts because I do have some older lenses that I didn't want to get rid of. I really appreciate all you do.
I miss the old Moment video hosts.
Do you know why the 58 tele Doesn’t work on the x5 camera? Like, what is making it not work?
Update: We got it working. It's still really hard to focus given the focal lengths, but you'll be able to use them now
A new lens ( tele ) that doesn’t support the 15 pro max 5x capabilities is a deal breaker … if anything I’ll just stay with my m series lens , if I’m not getting more out of the new then than what the m series can already do
Really don’t need extra lenses, just need a variable. ND that covers all three iPhone lenses
Does anyone know if the moment universal T mount works ok with cases in Galaxy S23 Ultra? Or is it necessary to take it out to use the mount?
You'll most likely need to take off your case for the best fit!
will the moment app be updated to use the 5x lens? surely the external lenses would work then?
ps, please stop calling it a periscope lens- its a prism lens, not a periscope lens :)
Sadly seems to be more of a technical than a software issue, but the app is updating soon with all the new IOS17 features now available
@@momentDid you guys use the same on Samsung s24 U tele lens
