Yoko Taro has openly stated that he'd love to try Drakengard again, but he was being very honest when he said it would need a lot of money. Drakengard was a bit of a niche and barely a hit, so higher-ups aren't just gonna let him do what ever he wants.
It wont be enough to do the same remaster/half remake thing. It will need to be a full remake. And Square are fucking dicks, that won't give Yoko good budget for his stuff. They gave the bare minimum even to Nier Automata... Which was a surprise hit. But i guess that even after that Square at max is going to give a proper budget only for a new Nier game.
Beating Angelus on the hardest difficulty with a broken controller almost gave me an aneurysm. Landing the final hit felt like beating a nightmare and simultaneously loosing a friend. The game was a rare gem
As much as I adore DOD1 and DOD3's ost this one just has that kick that I can't beat. Thank you for getting the entire OST on here. I couldn't do all of it like I wanted to due to technical limitations of the time 15 years ago.
That's a seriously beautiful piece!!! The bassoons at 2:20 are so nice! They give it such an entirely different texture from before!! Almost reminds me of Joe Hisaishi ^^
I don’t understand why everybody hates this game, Is it because it wasn’t directed by Yoko Taro ? Idk but this game looks really interesting and the soundtracks are very great I hope for a remaster someday.
I still remember this is both when it was in the startup intro of the game to a near endgame stage of fighting off against hordes of holy dragons and other evils in order to get to a Paradise mountain for ending A, throughout two new game plus for endings B and C.

Everyone hating on drakengard 2 for no reason as well saying the story time line was the worse when it makes no sense to me how from 1 we went to 3 and not 2 I haven't play drakengard 1 but I've seen the complete walk through with all cutscenes and In my opinion it wasn't better than drakengard 2. The cinematics the combat and the updated textures were much better even than 3 cause 3 is all about zero killing her sisters. Sadly my ps2 is half broken and same with the disc I can't end the game as I should be after I kill Legna the screen turns black after saying misusing complete sad the game is half broken. It's my favorite game of all time and it will always be in cheering on for a remake on drakengard 2 and 1 as well.....
Well, I mean, we didn't go from 1 to 3. Drakengard 3 is a prequel to the other games. As for whether Drakengard 2 is better, that sort of thing is always subjective. Drakengard 1 was a very unique experience, especially for the time. It gave an utterly disturbed main character who kills thousands over the course of the game and enjoys it without remorse (as opposed to most such stories where the MC either blithely ignores the massacres they commit or takes a few minutes to angst after each one). It had party members who were equally unlikable, each for their own reasons. It had music that could best be described as an auditory descent into madness. It outright punished you for not being satisfied with your 'happy ending' by subjecting to stranger and worse endings as you progressed, culminating in Ending E (and on that note, it's definitely not a coincidence that people like the game whose ending led to the Nier series). The gameplay was absolute trash, even by the standards of the genre, but the story, the experience, elevated it above the rest. Drakengard 2, by contrast, has a very generic protagonist and the story is not even half as batshit insane as Drakengard 1 gets to be. Everything else was improved (slightly), from the more involved combat to music (that wasn't designed to grate your ears), true. Without the story, though, it's just another cookie-cutter JRPG. Forgettable. Which is not a word one can use for Drakengard 1 in any way. As I said, this thing is subjective, you can disagree. I just wanted to make the point that there are reasons to dunk on Drakengard 2. I would also suggest that (judging by your description of Drakengard 3) that you've never played/watched Drakengard 3 and should get right on that. Maybe even get to the Nier series as well. I share your desire for Drakengard 1 to get a remake. Drakengard 2 I can take or leave.

I started watching Nier but didn't finish it but I've finished watching Nier: Automata all endings I've aslo played it but not the whole game only on a net Cafe.

Maybe a protagonist who beats and rapes his gf and is trying to “rescue” her or something edgy like that? NieR Automata hardly has anything to do with NieR, it’s mainly Taro just wanting to make the Touhou game he always dreamed of. I don’t think he has any love for the Drakengard series anymore

I regret being too young to enjoy Drkengard or the original Nier. I’m glad they had the remake for me to play. I hope a remake is in the works

Story is rather weak compared to other games and the true ending is bad. The conclusion of the game just doesn't hit at all.

Drakengard 3’s dialogue wasn’t so good. Too modern and naughty compared to this. The dialogue in this one matched the setting.
