+nicosisX can't accept that ending. Ludger is powerfull. But wipe out Gaius, the lord of spirits(Mila), Muzet, and the rest of the cast ALONE? I know Victor did it... but still...
Saving the world/s is honestly too large of a scale for humans to truly understand, but sacrificing all to save one's daughter, that's something most can sympathize with
i went with the option where ludger lived though. it felt like a better ending over him just dying. at least if he lives, he will eventually have elle in his own world and be a proper father. no time shenanigans ruining their lives. a nice, happy family
He's the definition of a hero in my books. A man ready to fight with every ounce of strength in his body and soul, for the sake of his one and only daughter to give her a better future. A bonafide badass dad if I say so.
+zenith But the elle they know and loved will have died. A father sacrificing himself for his daughter is better then a father sacrificing his daughter for himself is better to me. If Ludger sacrifices himself, at least hopefully he will go to where fractured Milla is T.T

Still gotta do some sidequest but i am getting my ass kicked so i will level up a little till i will reach last boss tales are amazing and yeah new tales is comming soon so maybe one more year ? :D cant wait :D
God I love this song. I'm still playing through the game, but I do like listening to the ost of the games I buy. I honestly can't for the final fight just so I can listen to this theme!
I swear it hink back tot his game like every year and marvel at the fact that this didnt come out last year and I really am getting older the music and characters hold up so well though.
Add another week to that XD. But seriously, if they'd listen to fans, they'd have to spend lot on anime plus the base game. They're better off focusing budget on their next game. Meanwhile, my heart cries for xillia and berseria anime :'(
Xillia 2 for me in the peak of Tales games. Ever since Zestria it feels like the games have lost a shine they once had. EVen Arise, while good just felt like it was missing something. The characters are always great, but the gameplay the music the setting and atmosphere ever since Zestria have felt like they've all been missing something. I would kill to have the Xillia franchised ported to PC someday.
I thought Arise was definitely a fun game, best one for me since Xillia 2 (my favorite). But what I think was truly a missed opportunity to make Arise really pop was the lack of multiplayer. I always found Tales games fun with other people, Vesperia, Graces, and Berseria were especially good for it. I understand they want to mix things up and couldn't make the combat system work for more than one player, but that took a lot of the wind out of my sails. Not to mention, I feel like in Arise, some characters get significantly more growth than others. Plus making Law the punching bag for 90% of jokes got pretty boring really quick..
@@NightWing1243 I semi-agree with this. I think Berseria is better than Arise in terms of character and overall story I think. I'm fine with the them mixing things up, Arise gameplay was the best we've got since Xillia 2. But the characters felt just bland and very one dimensional, and I agree some were devloped way more than others. My biggest gripes with the game come after the "mid-point" reveal. Plus the Final Boss before the "True" Final Boss just felt so empy of build up, and the last act really just does not do it for me personally. I always (albeit unfairly maybe) compare newer Tales of games to my golden standard and favourite Vesperia. Vesperia's characters were for the most part amazing, the story was incredible and the build up to the last dungeon was amazing. Not to mention the amount of post game Vesperia had in the PS3 version. Arise was good, it was a solid game but it just lost me at points in terms of interesting story beats and world building. Perhaps since I've gotten older I'm more worn out and awa\are of the classic anime tropes and cliches and only look at Vesperia with rose tinted glasses, but Zestria through to Arise just really don;t measure up to previous games like Vesperia, Xillia 1 and 2, Abyss and Symphonia.
2012....goddamn it doesnt even feel like its been that long buts its almost been 8 years since Xillia 2 came out. TIME IF YOU COULD SLOW DOWN THAT WOULD BE GREAT

just beat this game. had to go through the final boss fight 3-5 times to get the true ending. it sucks either ludger dies or elle dies. I hate it so much. what makes it worse is that if ludger dies everyone's dream comes true. I wish a xillia 3 would come out but it will probably wont be as good as 2 or 1. all im going to say is this game was worth the 30 dollars and 50 hours of gameplay
Then there's the fact that you had to kill Julius TWICE to get to Canaan, which was really sad for me, and the fact that he hummed the song even at the very end was just too much :(
+RCfan234 It fits with the overarching theme of Xillia 2 (and to a lesser extent, the underlying theme of Xillia 1): sometimes there IS no perfect solution. Sometimes you have to choose between two bad choices, and the one you pick will simply leave you feeling like the other must have been the correct one despite everything good that came of the one you made.
Tales of Xillia 2 was phenomenal Game from beginning to end, I enjoyed every moment of it, but my one gripe would be unlocking the ending where I payed off my entire debt because it pretty much went down to me playing poker and losing my max bet on high or low for 2 days.
Am I the only one where sometimes the game removes the cancel button and prevents me from paying later on? As if the game is like "F*uck you! Pay me now!" an I'm like "B*tch if paying my dept is not the current objective then I'll pay later! That Boss is kicking my ass and forcing me to burn through my jelly and revival potion supplies!"
0.0 I actually loved the debt theme. Towards the end, it's insanely easy to pay back. I just played yesterday and finished up from 10,000,000 gald to the last 100 in a matter of... I think 3 hours? Leveled up a ton too. ^_^" Maybe I'm just different, but I didn't mind the debt.
André-Mathieux Gervais If you have so much over the next payment amount, *Like she says in the beginning of the game* the bank will take something to keep you from spending the money you should be using to pay your debt. You can't cancel out of it, but you can always pay 1 gald. Just expect her to be calling back the instant you get any gald.
All of the Sonic games (Adventure onwards, except for Heroes, the handheld titles, and Generations) did that. The only JRPGs I know of that do it are Wild ARMs 2, 4, and 5, and...well, this.
I really liked this game also, I did everything in Xillia 1-2, even got the optional skins which work really good except very few cutscenes, like Ludger making the Tomato soup or whatever it really was in Japanese. Been replaying Vesperia for fun since I don't have any tasks.
Nothing feels better than seeing that one-off cut in of ludgers face for the final chromatus transformation. Also, 0:45 They really love that guitar riff from Awkward Justice. It's even in "The will that opposes reason" in Berseria.
Oh good god, this game is so amazing. Definitely one of my favourite games in the series. I love the fact that no matter what ending you get, it's not exactly 'happy' - it's about time a Tales game actually explored more mature themes and killed off a character. I'm a sadist, lmao, but the reason I loved this game so much was because it was definitely the most...'mature'...game so far. They even showed blood a couple of times, and that's, like, heads being chopped off in JRPG world XD The storyline was so dark and compelling, and Elle's reaction to Victor's death...my sadist self enjoyed it very much. And when Fractured Milla died. My feels went ouchie. And that ending when you kill all the original cast was hard for me to do, because they are by far my favourite cast of all the games. When you think about it, he killed Elize, too...LUDGER WHAT THE FUCK MAN. And Leia's too gosh darn adorable to murder, too. Thankfully, that ending isn't canon, and anyone that chooses it to be canon needs to reavaluate what they are doing with their lives
Well, it's probably because of the major differences between the first Xillia and Xillia 2, such as the removal of shop levels, no item discounts, each of the same type of shop having different items at times, the decrease in sub-events not related to the Job Bulletin, the lack of effort in some in-battle voice acting, you can only take four party members before leaving a town and you're usually forced to take Ludger, the sudden increase in depression compared to the first Xillia, the collection of CATS throughout the world as if we didn't like finding the Aifread's Treasure enough, and finally the silent protagonist that shouldn't have been silent since you can have him talk through the grade shop with zero grade.
GeonamicWarrior I didnt mind the no VA. They wanted us to feel something and now I cant wait for the voice. I agree with all of what you said. They did take out some of the fun. As for the cats thats not a bother for me. Its just an optional more exploring the world.
Harkins1721 Feel what exactly? The choices you chose for Ludger to say, the outcome based on what happened after, both, or something else entirely? Even though most of the cats can be collected by hand, you have to send a cat to find the rest of the cats you can't find on your own, which makes it a lot harder than Aifread treasures since it's random on if you'll get a cat when your sent cat returns and you have to wait for that cat too before sending another one. The cat food to speed it up doesn't help much.
Welkin Gunther I don't have to like everything. But I don't dislike her music. I just prefer this version of Song 4 U and don't care about the opening. Really, how bigoted can people be? Progress, however, was a different story...
Oh, you are gonna LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Especially twin sword mode if you like speedy character and later on, he could massacre with TONS OF COMBOS potential.
The Debt mechanic was ok for me... until the new game plus, it was hella annoying when you're raking in a lot of gald and that debt collecter won't stop calling! Music related, this ties in with Tales of the Abyss's Karma...
First time getting to the boss of the game, under leveled no more life bottles, then song plays only have Ludger and Guise to duo final boss on hard mode...6 tries later of epic'ness later I WON without power ranger finisher mode.
First fight, easy easy, 2nd fight no problem, 3rd fight zzzz another fight?, 4th fight(same boss) O DANG THIS OST I GOT PUMPED UP NOTE:I got quite a bit disappointed with all the ending, I felt as the game was way to quick xD, only reason why i was quite disappointed about it haha, good, yet sad ending
game was too quick?? It took me 80 hours to beat on my first playthrough... granted I kinda did almost every possible thing and explored a lot before moving onto the next chapter.
I did feel that Bisley was a bit too easy, especially compared to Muzet/Gaius, but Chronos was decent. But the game being small? It was easily the largest Tales of to date.
***** I like Bisley as a experience too, but I do wish that he could have at least had more HP. OR be imune to petrification. Seriously, Milla/Ludger's Frost Blade and Milla/Jude's Igneous Crush just made him useless.
Gogito4 Burn in X1 was waaay to op with milla is you had the aerial spell with double jump. just jump and spam lightning bolt and gg and if you used rowen and liea you could spam the fuck out of that time stop spell. Rowen could stop time with a backstep. you can be so broke in any tales game well most I just love it!
Only downside of this fight is that the boss starts with half health so you it's over in a flash! Xillia 2 really outdid itself, and I would say is the best Tales of game there is, but to me Vesperia will always be the best and my Favourite!
Since 2002, my favorite Tales game had been Phantasia, the very first one, and it kept that position even after I played Symphonia, Abyss, Vesperia, Graces, and Xillia. Xillia 2 finally dethroned it in 2014. This game was something truly special.
singyist My first and favorite is Tales of Symphonia. I've played that game at least 20 times on Gamecube and I just finished my second or third on PS3.
same here. Symphonia was my very first game of the series. Vesperia and Symphonia are my very favorites but I think Xillia 2 has a special place. It was just so different and I love Ludger and Elle.
I always like it when games use a different version of the opening theme/main theme as the final boss music. I know there's quite a few games that did it, but right off the bat aside from this I can think of some Sonic games that did the same. So goooood. Do want Xillia 2 in the west right about, oh, now! xD
Honestly what made me tear up in the end was the cutscene with the older Elle walking with the kitten (Pollo was it?) in the open field towards a now pretty old Rollo resting in the grass. And then leaving after a short scene/Rollo watching them until they are out of sight like its a goodbye to the last member of the Ludger family closeing the chapter of his story & his family for good. It made me so sad when i thought that this kinda also is a goodbye to Rollo (old and probabyl due him being a cat will die soon). On one hand its hearthwarming to see Elle with the cute kitten on the other the final goodbye leaves me so empty and heavy at hearth. Q_Q Such a great game.
@Oliver McCall Yeah especially after playing the first Xilla & a few other Tales of titles i didnt expect this to turn into such a sad but yet hopefull ending.
It was ashamed indeed and PS3 ver also had 2x amount of scripts due to First Strike and Patty and Flynn involvement in the skits. Also, Patty was partially mentioned in the Xbox 360 ver. at the second harbor but with only in a note with "Pa...." Nevertheless, we still got a handful of good contents in Xbox 360 but PS3 ver. ruled. Also, OVL level 8 was OMFG neat.
Tales of Innocence R also did this, although the final boss just used the regular version of the original DS game's opening song, rather than a remixed version.

***** Bad ending best ending. My only regret is that it wasn't in the last chapter... If they had done it AFTER all the character episodes, they could've added bonus scenes for each kill or something like that, it could have been awesome.
+nicosisX
can't accept that ending. Ludger is powerfull. But wipe out Gaius, the lord of spirits(Mila), Muzet, and the rest of the cast ALONE? I know Victor did it... but still...
So what you want about Ludger but when this theme started playing he seemed like more of a hero than Milla or Jude or anyone else in that game
Ludger was awesome! End of discussion!
+zenith
But the elle they know and loved will have died. A father sacrificing himself for his daughter is better then a father sacrificing his daughter for himself is better to me.
If Ludger sacrifices himself, at least hopefully he will go to where fractured Milla is T.T
"Ludger!!"
"Elle!!!!!"
"Curse you two!"
*A pillar of brilliant, luminous light engulfs both Ludger and Elle as their hands interlocked, nullifying the fireball as Bisley rushed forth, throwing a right hook as his attack was stopped in its' tracks, the armored man being blasted back, grunting as he skidded across the ground. The light faded away as Bisley looked on, revealing an armored Ludger with a fully matured Chromatus-Stage 4, holding Elle in his left arm. If It's For You begins to play as Bisley speaks.*
"So, you made a pact with the watch itself."
*Ludger puts Elle down, the young child stepping away from the two combatants as Ludger stepped forth, remaining silent as Bisley clashed his fists together.*
"This should be interesting."
*Fight ensues.*
Dude that scene was so good
While reading that i replayed it in my head
just finished the game... it feels like my childhood is finally over... till i will play zestria
its so sad
TheHrebo Mine started to The Symphonia one !
i started play destiny... stahn aileron. den phantasia...
Zestria was a let down compared to this game in my opinion. but it was ok. but shoulda grew based off this game
Bryan Davis for me zestiria was fun to play. i play xillia 1 and when i xillia 2.... i feel bored. dont know why
lol it srsly have been one year ? I am finishing zestiria i am in camlan right now so i can say i pretty much enjoy playing zestiria with fantastic characters and even better music. Super hard battles on chaos mode and 120 hours played. Still gotta do some sidequest but i am getting my ass kicked so i will level up a little till i will reach last boss tales are amazing and yeah new tales is comming soon so maybe one more year ? :D cant wait :D
2022, still top tier
God I love this song. I'm still playing through the game, but I do like listening to the ost of the games I buy. I honestly can't for the final fight just so I can listen to this theme!
I swear it hink back tot his game like every year and marvel at the fact that this didnt come out last year and I really am getting older the music and characters hold up so well though.
How has a Xillia anime not happened yet?
after 2 years, also not yet lol
Riel After a week, also not yet. Feelsbadman
After 5 days later
Still not yet
Add another week to that XD.
But seriously, if they'd listen to fans, they'd have to spend lot on anime plus the base game. They're better off focusing budget on their next game.
Meanwhile, my heart cries for xillia and berseria anime :'(
@@adithyakamath7640 Berseria sort of has an anime... with Zestiria the X.
Honestly. The best final boss theme EVER
Man i love this game And this is probably my favorite song in the series

This game made me feel feels again.
Perhaps since I've gotten older I'm more worn out and awa\are of the classic anime tropes and cliches and only look at Vesperia with rose tinted glasses, but Zestria through to Arise just really don;t measure up to previous games like Vesperia, Xillia 1 and 2, Abyss and Symphonia.
better than hopes and dreams
FInally someone who thinks right.
so you made a pact with the watch itself...
this should be interesting!
Damn has it really been 8 years since the tales of series produced an emotionally moving game SMH
Dude.... BERSERIA????
@@AsAs-eu4rg
Berseria is an acquired taste. i thought it was good, but not as amazing as some people make it up to be.
When the second phase starts and this starts playing... So epic!
2012....goddamn it doesnt even feel like its been that long buts its almost been 8 years since Xillia 2 came out.
TIME IF YOU COULD SLOW DOWN THAT WOULD BE GREAT
Damn, someone is also hearing this theme 20 minutes ago
This is basically the Tales equivalent of The Sun Rises or Rivers in the Desert.
I put this game off because of the forums but I learned with tales games you have to form your own opinion, this game is my 2nd favorite
Woooow, this version of Song 4 U is so fucking good!
I love this as much as I love the opening. I am still working on the game. Trying to knock off my debt and find all the cats.
Es muy epico cuando ludger obtiene el cromatus nivel 4 mi personaje favorito de tales of siempre recordaré a ludger y Julius
Epicidad en su maximo esplendor.
I have not had song kick me so hard when it opens!
Um..."kick"?
Tjoeb123 A. by kick they mean "for the feeling/effect to "kick in" usually referenced in alcohol or perhaps an ability proc in a game.
And 2. to your not seeing the pattern thing a few months before your comment here - it's the vocal line that was used as the basis of this. sorry for the Necro lol
“So you made a pact with the watch itself? This should be *interesting* “
just beat this game. had to go through the final boss fight 3-5 times to get the true ending. it sucks either ludger dies or elle dies.
Bassai Zan, AYAMI! Matter Destruct!! KEIGA! SOUJIN RANBU!!
You are not the only one, everytime that happens I just pay 1 gals each time and say " You'll get a dollar if you behave" she never got the dollar
André-Mathieux Gervais
If you have so much over the next payment amount, *Like she says in the beginning of the game* the bank will take something to keep you from spending the money you should be using to pay your debt. You can't cancel out of it, but you can always pay 1 gald. Just expect her to be calling back the instant you get any gald.
***** agreed--I actually liked it because it gave me an excuse to explore and do random stuff
ETERNAL WALTZ!!!!!
Evan Midoriya yes
It's such a triumphant final boss theme that leads into such a bittersweet ending.
I found out that unless you use eternal waltz at the end you stay in boost mode for a very long time... I made sure to make him suffer.
Keiga Soujinranbu !
テイルズシリーズで一番好きエクシリア2
And then, the tears started. and didn't stop until the end of the credits
ただ一人、君のためなら
I can’t keep track of how many times I listened to this😆❤️
All of the Sonic games (Adventure onwards, except for Heroes, the handheld titles, and Generations) did that.
The only JRPGs I know of that do it are Wild ARMs 2, 4, and 5, and...well, this.
Pummeling the last boss without having to worry about his HP for that seemingly five minutes!! God that was epic!!
I really liked this game also, I did everything in Xillia 1-2, even got the optional skins which work really good except very few cutscenes, like Ludger making the Tomato soup or whatever it really was in Japanese. Been replaying Vesperia for fun since I don't have any tasks.
This was a nice song to use in the mystic arte exhibition video
Now that symphonia is out, just wait a little while before we get Xillia 2 news for localisations release :D
Just one of the best game of the tale series.
aaaaAAAAAAAAAAGH
KEIGA..! SOOOUJINRANBU!
EEETERNAAAL WALTZ!
Nothing feels better than seeing that one-off cut in of ludgers face for the final chromatus transformation.
Also, 0:45 They really love that guitar riff from Awkward Justice. It's even in "The will that opposes reason" in Berseria.
thanks for uploading this!! :D
Merci Emi pour cette découverte !!!
Bad ending is best ending.
Piyo San Say that to my face m8. How could you possibly want the original cast to be slaughtered? Fucking ELIZE M8.
+Tales Freak Tales games have killed off characters before Xillia 2
DarthBlackout251 Well, I haven't played all of them, but from what I have played this one has the most deaths.
Tales Freak It definitely does

A father's love for his kid. I love this song.
I don't get why people say bad things about Xillia 2, it was so much fun. (But Nova was kind of annoying at times..) But THIS SONG THO
Im sad that this song isnt available on spotify :’) maybe cuz its a copyright of ayumi hamasaki’s song 4 u
Am I the only one that likes this version but gives a dam about the opening?
Al Cervantes FUCK NO YOU AREN'T
Al Cervantes The opening is awesome.
***** But I don't really like it.
Al Cervantes Not liking the queen of j-pop.
Wow, disgusting.
Welkin Gunther I don't have to like everything. But I don't dislike her music. I just prefer this version of Song 4 U and don't care about the opening. Really, how bigoted can people be?
Progress, however, was a different story...
This sounds in my mind when i have to finish my classroom homeworks xd
Oh, you are gonna LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Especially twin sword mode if you like speedy character and later on, he could massacre with TONS OF COMBOS potential.
OMG... That's freaking amazing. This song's so epic *-*
The Debt mechanic was ok for me... until the new game plus, it was hella annoying when you're raking in a lot of gald and that debt collecter won't stop calling! Music related, this ties in with Tales of the Abyss's Karma...
This is epically catchy
First time getting to the boss of the game, under leveled no more life bottles, then song plays only have Ludger and Guise to duo final boss on hard mode...6 tries later of epic'ness later I WON without power ranger finisher mode.
3:25 for *MAXIMUM HYPE LEVELS*
W8 no- 4:05
First fight, easy easy, 2nd fight no problem, 3rd fight zzzz another fight?, 4th fight(same boss) O DANG THIS OST I GOT PUMPED UP
NOTE:I got quite a bit disappointed with all the ending, I felt as the game was way to quick xD, only reason why i was quite disappointed about it haha, good, yet sad ending
game was too quick?? It took me 80 hours to beat on my first playthrough... granted I kinda did almost every possible thing and explored a lot before moving onto the next chapter.
I did feel that Bisley was a bit too easy, especially compared to Muzet/Gaius, but Chronos was decent. But the game being small? It was easily the largest Tales of to date.
***** I like Bisley as a experience too, but I do wish that he could have at least had more HP. OR be imune to petrification. Seriously, Milla/Ludger's Frost Blade and Milla/Jude's Igneous Crush just made him useless.
***** Burn was even more absurd in X1. Rowan spamming Fireball was one of the highest possible DPS.
Gogito4 Burn in X1 was waaay to op with milla is you had the aerial spell with double jump. just jump and spam lightning bolt and gg and if you used rowen and liea you could spam the fuck out of that time stop spell. Rowen could stop time with a backstep. you can be so broke in any tales game well most I just love it!
setting this as my ringtone cause i loved the game ;-)
Impressive. Better then the first Xillia's final boss them, for sure.
This song is so addictive! XD
Are there big guys in this game?
***** there's a couple for you
+Happy Happy Cultist Crashing this plane, with no survivors! *_WRECKAGE BROTHERS!_*
Gaius is the manliest man in probably all Tales games.
Only downside of this fight is that the boss starts with half health so you it's over in a flash! Xillia 2 really outdid itself, and I would say is the best Tales of game there is, but to me Vesperia will always be the best and my
Favourite!
I personally loved Tales of Xillia's story over the other Tales games. I got really attached to Ludger & Elle.
this game has done something that has never happend for me in a ame made me cry 3 the ,most befor was 1 time
I always like it when games use a different version of the opening theme/main theme as the final boss music. I know there's quite a few games that did it, but right off the bat aside from this I can think of some Sonic games that did the same.
So goooood. Do want Xillia 2 in the west right about, oh, now! xD
Remember, this boss music is for ludger not for bisley
This game is said to be released this year, can't wait to witness the full experience.
Tales of best series of game with kingdom heart
EPIC
Tales of Innocence R also did this, although the final boss just used the regular version of the original DS game's opening song, rather than a remixed version.
The sound of a father going absolutely feral and beating the shit out of someone for stabbing his daughter
Yeah!! OL 8, dam I would love that! But Yuri and Flynn's joint mystic art!! That was great, so OP!
Beautifull
This shit right here. Bump in the car
