    sharp piece of kit. i like the detail with the weatherstripping as protection for the bumper! The fins look very thin and bendable i suppose, but welds are held to a high standard

    Nice video. I'm going to be doing this come spring 2020... my first car project ever!

    Can I use the oem bracket? Thanks

    Hi mishimoto,
    I had professionals install the kit for me and my car started running a bit wonky under heavy load (75%-100% throttle)
    The ECU or ECM releases charged air pressure via the by pass valve under heady load. Sometimes it fuel cuts, and sometimes it does both
    Had professionals put the stock intercooler system back on and my car started running strong and healthy again
    Do I need a tune or something?

      You should not need a tune to run this product. We suggest reaching out to our support staff and provide any other relevant modifications so they can take a closer look.

    The intercooler appears to block off any air flow to the radiator. The 20-21 models this may not be a problem because of the change to the front grille, but this seems like the car will wind up overheating quite a bit more due to the lack of airflow.
    Thoughts?

      We have not experienced this in any of our testing.

      @@mishimoto okay. Don't get me wrong, I am a customer of yours, and love your products. Just wanted to be sure that adequate air flow would reach the radiator for cooling on track days/spirited driving. Thanks for the prompt reply!

      The intercooler doesn't block anything. Air passes through it. It literally couldn't work if air couldn't pass through. This in turn passes through the condensor and radiator. Sure, the air will be warmer than if there wasn't anything in front, but it still allows the radiator to shed heat very efficiently. One thing also to realize with a radiator is that its goal is not to cool down the engine as low as physically possible. It wants to run the engine at an operating temp which I think is in the 200-300 deg range. The hot air from the intercooler is probably significantly lower than the temps the radiator is working with.

    Can I run the intercooler with stock charge pipes ?

    • @mishimoto

      We do not sell the intercooler without the pipes. Sorry!

    Do we need a tune for this intercooler kit for its performance?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      While a tune is not required to run the intercooler a tune would allow you to get the most power out of the part

      @@mishimoto so it’s no point to upgrade it if I would like to stay with the stock tune?

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the stock tune, we saw max power gains of up to 10 whp and 10 wtq

    • @MuffinMan0521
      @MuffinMan0521 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Monsters-bs1vm one thing you're not considering is if an engine dyno's at 300whp that doesn't mean it will also make that power all the time. If it's too hot outside and the IAT's get up there you will be making less power. A big intercooler is ensuring your IAT's are as low as they can get without other means (water sprayer, etc). Beyond the intercooler you're going to want to get a turbo blanket and downpipe blanket/wrap. I ditched the stock heat shields.
