Thank you brother you have no idea how long I wanted to know if there was a wrong or a right way to install a chain. Good video.
thanks stu, great clear vid, was great help to me
Greatly appreciated!!
thanks man! you were a lot of help
Thanks for the Demo!
This is very helplful, thank you!
Awesome. Glad it helped 🙂
This is true because when the chain break is ON, the ring clamp is closed down into a smaller circle in order to apply friction to the clutch (and thus stop the chain from moving). It is almost impossible to get the ring to slip back over the clutch during reassembly. However, at least on my chainsaw, if you make this mistake you can, with some effort, flip the switch back to the correct position before reassembling.
Great informative video
Just found your channel. You have a new sub! Looking forward to watching some of your other videos.
Awesome. Thank you for the sub. Hope you enjoy the channel.
@@mainstreetmower You’re welcome. I always have to go back and watch everyone’s first video. 😁👍
Lord knows my first one is comical. 🤣
I’ll take some time to watch some of your newer videos over the next few days.
@@baldeagle242 haha really appreciate the research on your end. I'll make sure to check out your channel.
In case you do go and check out out oldest videos, we would like to apologize for the crocs in advance. haha
@@mainstreetmower Well, I didn’t even research the format on my first video. I recorded the entire video 9:16 instead of 16:9 and spent way to much time making coffee and turning the heat on. 🤣
Excellent. It would have helped at times to have a close up, but it worked!
Great video Stu. I have been checking tension at the bottom of the bar, and I only left enough tension that it just barely fit into the groove. Also the battle with bar and chain just proved to me that even a pro fights it sometimes
My chainsaw chain has links with a 45 degree side and 90 degree side. Can you tell which is the cutting edge?
thank you
Lift the bar when tightening the chain. Nothing makes a chain go slack quicker than not lifting the bar.
Awesome. Thank you for the great advice.
I brought a new chain for my chainsaw . It was in the box ok. Took it but it twisted. Instead of it just being a loop or circle. How you get it twist out.
The cutting edge is the 45 degree side, I'll get you a more thorough answer soon
cool
I have an old Ryobi chainsaw in my shop. Yea, I know, Ryobi saws are junk but this guy wants it fixed. I got it running and everything is perfect but when I put the chain back on it the chain doesn't roll around the sprocket like it should. It's binding up. It didn't work when he got it, I could tell it hadn't ran in a while. Covered with dirt, fuel lines rotted off, every crack on it packed with oily sawdust. I'm thinking somebody just put a chain on it to sell it and they put the wrong chain on it. The chain links have K1 stamped on them. Can the wrong chain cause this?
Chain has an arrow depicting the rotation of the chain. Has to be put on correctly otherwise it will take forever to cut a branch. I did it wrong first time myself on my Ryobi.
I bought a new chain for my chainsaw its the right size 14 inch but won;t fit onto the clutch and around the bar , its seems too small. Its a Stihl chain but my saw is a Husquarvana 135 does that matter?
There are many different 14" chains on the market. You need a chain that has drive links matching the spacing in you sprocket (this is called pitch) you should be able to locate the pitch of your chainsaw etched in decimal or fraction form on your sprocket. Likewise you need to match the gauge of the track in your bar. This measurement can often be found etched in your bar. Lastly the proper chain has to have the proper drink link count to span the circumference of your bar and chain. Match pitch, gauge and drive link count and you've got the right one.
Ok thanks, not as simple as I thought.
Can you please show a video on how to install the chain on Poulan 14'' electric chainsaw, I undo everything while cleaning it , Cant put it back together it is not clear enough on the catalog diagram, Thanks
Noran Zahran Still waiting, too. Frustrated with these videos.
be nice if video was in better quality. can't see much details
Gloves my good man Gloves
I took this picture before I removed the chain for sharpening, just to remind myself which was the correct direction when remounting it. The front end of the bar is to the left. johndallasbowers.com/stihl%20chain.jpg
i realize I am kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Xander Keagan I watch on Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Raiden Kobe Yea, I've been watching on FlixZone for years myself =)
@Raiden Kobe Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D Appreciate it!
@Xander Keagan no problem =)
FYI: Cant see the chain from the distance you are filming...can not see what way the chain is going
Sorry about that. This is a reallyyyyy old video from us but we did make a newer one. Maybe that would help, here's the link: th-cam.com/video/ylJHdqoQy-Y/w-d-xo.html
A close up of the teeth would have been good
I couldn't see the direction of chain to find out which way those teeth are sharp. video quality is poor.
