    I had a very bad experience there in 2012. Asking to take a pic of us with our camera them he didn't wanned to return it. Asking for 100 euros I return. I have threatened him with the police who was on horses 10 m away then he gave us back the camera. I will never ever go back to Egypt ! So agressive and Cairo, 1 week on the Nile was simply disgusting experience. You cannot even enjoy the trip without beeing pushed by agressive locals who try ti get your money.. but it was way too far !!! NEVER EVER AGAIN THERE !

    A great job showcasing the city of Giza. A lot more built up now than when we were there. The Pyramids and The Sphinx are the center of the universe there. Giza has its issues as you noted.
    We think it's worth hiring a private guide to help navigate you through the Pyramid field. They can give you bit about the history of it all. Wonderful Video! Sending you much and affection

    We visited Egypt in 2021. I can't wait to go back. Yes, there were always people trying to sell a service or merchandise. It's a different economy and a different culture. Maintain a friendly, relaxed attitude and you'll be fine. Yes, we rode the camels. I wouldn't do it again but only because it's a very uncomfortable ride, not because of the camel handlers.

    First, welcome to Egypt, and I, on behalf of most of the Egyptian people, apologize to you for any negatives that you may have suffered from by some camels owners. We asked our government to intervene strongly to organize the pyramids area, which is considered one of the most important tourist destinations in the world, but to no avail so far. But after the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is located right next to the pyramids, I think that the situation will change in the pyramids area and it will be more organized. Indeed, the main hall has been opened in the Grand Egyptian Museum, and soon its opening ceremony will be announced, which will be a legendary ceremony, because the Grand Egyptian Museum is the largest museum of one civilisation in the world and the cost of building it exceeded a billion dollars .... God bless you 🇪🇬❤🇬🇧🕊

    The pyramids were built on the shoulders of the Jews who were under the control of the Pharaoh, and they worked day and night to build those pyramids. They were slaves to the rule of the Pharaoh and the rest of the dynasty of the Pharaohs until Moses came and the Lord commanded him to liberate the people of Israel from Egypt.

    nearly died in Egypt from food poisoning and years of parasite infestation. I went for work, it was beautiful but the food was AWFUL. I don't understand all those thousands of year of history and all they have is molokhiya, falafil, foul, pigeon, macaroni with bechamel sauce, koshari and a few other bits. The people can be very nice and it was a very special place last century. Many wealthy merchant families, Greeks, Italians, French, Jews used to live there very well. I was offered a job there not too long ago but never ever again. The crisis there now is getting worse to the point that people are eating food in the supermarket. Yes, the beggar's fatigue. Sadly Egypt is rife with it. So sad because the people are so nice. It's always been this way in Egypt. It's got an unbelievably corrupt dictatorship. Even on a tour you see the poverty, the injustice, and the animal cruelty. It's so evident in Giza. Best to stay anywhere other than Giza, and head down to the area just to see the pyramids. More interesting than Giza is Saqqara, and less intense. Go first thing in the morning. Hopefully you'll be going there. The museum at Saqqara is worth the trip! But good luck finding an affordable driver to take you there and back...or? Maybe through the guest house? Enjoy ~ By the way, Luxor and Aswan are also like this. :( Especially Luxor. Similar to Giza at the Hotel zone.

    • @perra5910
      @perra5910 ปีที่แล้ว

      As an Egyptian you know nothing about us and googling for few minutes or staying for several days doesn’t even skim the surface. Without that “evil dictatorship” you wouldn’t be even able to walk down the street in cairo if you are a foreigner . So don’t make any judgments about our system of governance cause you know nothing. Secondly these beggars don’t do it cause of poverty. These guys easily make a 1000 egp a day which have the same purchasing power in egypt as $150 bucks U.S. they do it to both foreigners and locals and there are too many of them in these areas as a result of us removing our last “corrupt dictatorship”
      Most of these vids don’t even show 4/5 of greater cairo, they stay in the crappiest hotels and eat in the crappiest restaurants with non existent hygiene on the busiest streets. And here is the rule about cairo. The newer the neighborhood the more well of are the people the better organized and less crowded and the less the scammers. The “local atmosphere” is AKA for low to mid low income neighborhoods.
      There is zayed, 6th October, new cairo, madinty, maadi, zamalek, nasr city, madinat nasr, new giza, sherouk, obour, 10th ramadan. These area’s combined are 10 times as big as old town cairo and giza with 6 and 8 lanes roads, big malls, no honking orchestra and no scammers. You stay in those places go uber for sight seeing then out before things get crowded. Not stay in the thick of it.

    Based on your video we stayed at #jimmypyramidsviewhotel and LOVED IT! Giza is a shithole but this hotel for the money is a treasure. The family/staff are amazing and we booked a tour guide for the day, who turned out to be the hotel owners Uncle Tito. Lovely lovely guy! Highly recommended!
    We also took your recommendation and lunched at the Marriott Mena. Another winner!

      @@dabbleandtravel that view was magical that’s for sure and the staff and the food amazing. I loved the hotel was in Giza because that’s why you travel, to experience things that are way different to your own. You come back home with a new appreciation for what you have 🙂
